''It'd be fun. It's not very far; I've gotten there, caught some fish, and come back in less than half a day-walk before. Of course, it might take longer since I'd have to teach you to, but like I said, it isn't far.'' Exura stood up, then, as if it was already decided. ''C'mon, we'll go now.''

Exura grinned and headed out of the narrow tunnel, emerging into a fiery, red-skied morning. The sun was already part way into the sky, but it would be a while yet until it was at its strongest, and they'd spend most of their time in the river anyway. Nodding as if in answer to some silent question, the dragon began along the mountain trail that dipped and rose with the rock, having been hewn from natural causes, such as wind, or ancient glaciers that were long gone.

Exura paused, tilting his head up to the sun. It really did look like it was on fire, this time of day. He started up again after a moment, and spoke after another moment. ''It's difficult to tell. I was a here for about twenty years when my people were, but I was very young, in my terms, when they left. A lot of them died in leaving. I was afraid, so I stayed. They thought all the dragons had left, so I survived. That was... some time ago. Judging from the blessed tree's growth, I'd guess somewhere around three hundred years, possibly more, possibly less.'' He shrugged, and continued on, not looking back.

Exura laughed, guessing he was old compared to most humans. He was young still, though, so it was alright. He was caught by surprise when the lad apologised, and glanced back to Wyr for a moment, a strange ex
pression in his eyes. He had stopped laughing, but shrugged again. ''It's alright. It had nothing to do with you, or even your people, if my memories are correct. Besides, they were bad people. Dragons have a bad reputation for a reason.''

Exura kept his arm locked in Wyr's, wondering what he should answer. He'd killed before, true, but only when aggrevated. He tried to not hurt people, he went out of his way to avoid the village. Did that mean he was a bad person or a good person? ''I like to think I'm a good person. I don't generally keep the traditions my people did. Most humans would disagree, though.'' Wyr seemed worried, his voice quiet.

Exura tilted his head, trying to think of a suitable answer. In truth, he wasn't sure. The amount of time he had spent alone far exceeded the amount of time he had spent with his kind, so he never really knew any different. It was an interesting question, though. ''I wouldn't really no the difference between my life now and my life before. In comparison, my time spent in the company of others was so short, it went by like the bl
ink of an eye. I don't remember a lot of it.

''Not much farther now.'' Exura replied, smiling. Humans always seemed in such a hurry to get going, but he supposed they had less time to do things. Besides, Wyr seemed a little... not so much sad, just not himself, but the young man couldn't put his finger on why. He decided to try and give him something to look forward to instead, and pointed to a ridge at the end of the wooded path, dipping down again, so what was past it couldn't be seen. ''Over that ridge there is an overhang that drops into the river. Won't be long now.''

Also, sorry for poofing. If you were wondering, Ty did that to her knuckles doing uppercuts on the bags at kickboxing. They're friction burns. The other two people in Ty's were like. ''o_o Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Letstandbackhere.''

Exura walked up to where the ground fell away and jumped down into the river, motioning for Wyr to follow. He kept one of his hands in the water, the other at his side, glancing around for something. The water itself reached his knees, but it was only a shallow area; further along, the water got deeper, faster, and wider.

Exura laughed as Wyr jumped, shaking his head. ''You alright, lad?'' He asked, chuckling still. He crouched down slightly, and saw the fish that had swum past Wyr. ''It's easy. You make sure your shadow isn't falling over the fish, then grab it by its tail and pull back. Its gills get messed up if you do that, and it can't breathe properly. It'll only stun it, though, so you flick it up onto the bank after that.'' He proceeded to demonstrate, and the fish landed far into the bank, flopping weakly.

Exura was surprised as water was splashed all over him, but when he turned around and saw Wyr in the water, he laughed. He moved back and held Wyr's shoulder to keep him from falling again, still laughing. ''Are you quite sure you're fine?'' He shook his head, and didn't move his hand from the human's shoulder.
