Ace tiredly walked out of her leaky and creaky cabin she had to find more firewood it ws just starting to snow in the forest and it forewarned of a harsh winter.She pulled her quilt over her shoudlers a bit better so she wouldn't be frozen by the time she got back.

Ace pointed to the fire place where the coals were still hot."The extra ones go beside it." She said.She sat on her small couch in front of the fire and wrapped herself in the other warmer blankets.

Shadow placed some of the logs beside the fireplace and threw one into the fire. The hot coals licked hungrily at the wood and he watched as it was devoured. He stayed by the fire, breathing in the smoke that curled from the burning wood. The smell of her was less now and almost bearable. His eyes still burned red. "So, you live here." He said it, unlike a question.

"Yeah." Ace said now feeling the warmth of the fire through her blankets."It's not like i have much of a choice to live anywhere else." she finished.

He did not know what to say to that information. He could hear her yawn and he turned around. "It must be hard to hunt for yourself. YOu could not have had much practice." He said and approached the door. "I will be back." He found himself saying. "I only hope you do not mind eating game." He said and opened the door. Powerful snow flurries flew into his face. The storm had gotten much worse since they had come inside.

Shadow walked through the door, slamming it more forcefully than inclined. He swore under his breath and bared his fangs in disgust, letting out a small hiss. He shook his head and sniffed the air. "Any animal with enough sense will already be somewhere safe." He muttered to himself. He sighed and trudged through the snow. "At least there isn''t any sun." He said and realized he had been talking to himself. He hadn't uttered a word in over three weeks, having stayed away from civilization. He was forced to go back to buy new clothing so he did not stick out over the years.

A new scent hit his nose and he flicked his head toward the right. As he did so, he saw a wounded faun limping through the snow, leaving a trail of blood on the white landscape. His mouth watered. Though the fawn would give him strength, he needed human blood to survive. He moved with inhuman speed toward the deer and lunged at it's throat. It went down without a cry, having been numb to the core and too wounded that the ending of its life was a blessing. His fangs came out quickly as bloodlust overcame him. A gutteral snarl ripped from his throat as he sucked the life blood out of the deer.

When it was sucked dry, his eyes dimmed to their normal blue and he staggered back. His throat was still parched, but not as bone dry as it had been before. He looked down at a frozen patch of water to his right and saw hiis mouth covered with blood. He whiped it from his mouth onto his black jacket before going back to the deer. He hauled it over his shoulders and ran back toward the cabin. He was unsure what to do, so he knocked.
