Shadow stalked up to her, his red eyes blazing. He grabbed her face with his hands, knowing he could brake her heat easily with his fingers and drink her sweet, rejuvinating- he cut off his thoughts quickly. "I don't know why, but I can't bear to see you hurt." He said, his face twisted with pain. A thought flitted through his head. Maybe he could learn to...contain himself. Start by drinking with her, but not sucking her dry. Keep her living so he could feed when he needed. His mouth watered at the idea but he looked away from her in shame.

"To leave," He said simply, but his mind roared with a no. He didn't want to be away from her lovely smell or her pulsing veins. He shivered with desire and stifled a moan. "You don't know how badly I want...it," He finished slowly. "I mean....I could try not to...to kill you," He said and regretted the words as he said them. He held his face down in shame.

Shadow swallowed nervously, venom beginning to seep through his fangs. The sweet liquid filled his mouth and gave him another burst of longing. He began to physically tremble. He hadn't had blood in over a week and he was getting weaker. "I don't want to hurt you, but let me give you some information. If you are awake while I do this, you will experience extreme pleasure. i can't help it. My venom won't hurt you or change you into a vamp. That's only if I bite and don't...." he let the thought hang in the air. "I could also possibly lose control of my...need and kill you," He stated.

Shadow sighed, his thirst taking control of his movements. He bent toward Ace, breathing in her irresistable scent. He opened his mouth as he inched toward her neck. His sharp teeth grazed across her neck, creating a small trail of blood to form. As the venom seeped in, pure desire for her hit him. He moaned and pressed his lips against her. He knew she would be feeling the same thing he did as he drank. Electric tingles ran through his body as he drank from her.

Shadow pulled her closer, entangling his hands in her hair. He knew she would be getting weaker now and would fall limp in his arms never to see the break of day again. Her blood ran through him like a drug. He couldn't stop himself. He thought she was beginning to feel limp. Just a few moments more and she would be gone. Gone. This thought hit him like a wrecking ball and he yanked himself backward, the pain almost blinding as the spell broke from them. Her blood was still dangerous, pulling him in closer. He got up with blinding speed and ran for the door, wrenching it open. He sat outside her door, unable to leave her.

Ace awoke about 2-3 hours later with a minor headache.She was dizzy and saw Shadow sitting outside the door."I'm fine you know," she said yawning.

He buried his face in his hands. "How could you be okay?" He mumbled, though his voice was muffled. He raised his voice so she could hear him. "How could you be okay? Just last night, I came so close to drinking your life blood because I'm a freakin blood sucker," He said..

With inhuman speed, he leaped to his feet and was in front of her in a flash. He stood, towering over her, his blue eyes swimming like icy water. "No. You're not okay if you're involved with me. If I stay, you WILL get hurt. You can count on that." He said fiercely, suddenly hating himself for what he was. Hating himself because right now, he was resisting the urge to snap her neck and drink her sweet, thick blood.

He closed his eyes and wished that was the case. When they opened, they were still an icy blue. "Did you not notice how the deer was drained of blood when I brought it in?" He asked and gave her a sad smile. "I cannot survive slowly on animal blood. I can drink that when I need a quick reserve of strength, but it does not sate me," He said. "And you can't want me to be around. I've killed people before," He said, knowing this would probably make her run from him. "I've killed many," His heart squeezed as the knowledge of her leaving hit him.

Shadow looked at her questioningly. His brows furrowed in confusion as they always did when he was in thought. "He's a vampire?" He asked her. That would give her a reason not to freak out on him, but that was not an excuse for him to stay with her. He should leave her now and never come back.
