Mason sighed and pulling the gras-s lightly but not enough to break or uproot it. He supposed Aryia hadn't lived in Sel long enough to really pic up on all the tension... but then again all she had to do was stare out the window for ten minutes. He leaned back against the tree and looked up at the sky, trying to word his next sentence so his cousin would understand them. "Kinda yes and kinda no," he said, "There are certain... groups that you have to watch out for. If you bother the wrong person, you could get seriously hurt. It's probably better if you don't talk anyone unless they say something to you first. Then you can probably decide if they're friendly or not."

[[Ahahaha XD I'm sure you'll buy a better lookin' table : P]]

Aryia looked back up at Mason. "Not nice?" She asked, feeling like a stupid child. Aryia thought about it for a moment. "Do they dislike me... because I'm a Jin and part Dake?" She asked nervously. 'Ah geez, why am I taking advice from him?' She thought. 'I'm such an idiot. I should be the one giving advice. I am the older one!' Aryia pushed those thoughts away, and returned her attention to her cousin.

(( Tablet as in something you use to draw on the computer XD The table we have is fine for the moment :3 )) 

Mason nodded, a grim ex
pression on his face. "Exactly. There are idiots here who think they can take the war into their own hands. Some of them even crave blood, and you being part Jin and part Dake means you can be the ob
ject of everyone's aggression." He sighed again, pulling his knees up to his chest so he could rest his chin on them. He watched Aryia out of the corner of his eye. "Most of them don't know you're a nice person and most of them don't care. They just want to spill your Dake or Jin blood." He knew he was being a little harsh with his words, but he was only protecting her. He wanted his message to sink in so she'd actually be careful.

[[Whoops XD It's almost midnight. So give me some credit for my braindeadness once again :p How in the world do you break a tablet? XD]]

Aryia felt a slight sense of shock. Then she tried to brush it away, like what she did to every nasty comment casted at her. "Oh... Well, that's not very nice." She said, still trying to be optimistic. "If that's the case..." Aryia paused and thought for a moment. "I'll stick next to you, Mason!" She smiled at her cousin. 'So far, he's the only one I trust in this school.' She sighed and looked back up at the blue sky, squinting her eyes to look for shapes in the clouds.

[[I think Aryia is slightly air-headed. Oh well : P]]

"Uh-huh," Destery answered simply. Was he so bored that he actually wanted to talk to a random person? Or was his dorm nearby? If it was, he could understand if the guy had been thinking about getting to know his dorm...neighbors. But, if that was the case, he must've been pretty damn lonely. "Why don't you go start a fight, then?" he asked, looking back at the other male. He didn't even know his name yet, and they were talking quite a bit. "You know, instead of just waiting around for one to happen and jumping in. That would give you a cause, wouldn't it?"

And you break a tablet by loosing the pen... well it's not exactly breaking it... but without the pen, that tablet is a useless piece of junk to me! >[ ))

Rel shrugged again, this time with a bored looking frown. "Why would I drag someone into violence that they don't want? I only participate in mutual fights and there's no person that I have enough of a grudge against to pick a fight with." He cracked his knuckles, continuing to look bored. He really didn't expect this guy to understand his reasoning for things, but he was at least glad for someone to talk to.

Mason sighed. Somehow he'd turned into his cousin's babysitter. His older, half-blood cousin. He dared someone to find the sanity in that. He looked up as he heard someone approaching and flinched. What were they doing coming over here? Especially that Jin guy. He didn't even know them too well. His hand instinctively went to a spike on his necklace as he stood up. "Hello," he said dully, not showing weakness. "Can I help you?" he frowned slightly as he looked at them.

[[Bleh, then I suggest you have fun by completely destroying your tablet if you have no use for it XD. Is your tablet a Bamboo? I use that : D]]

 "Eh?" Aryia looked up. 'Oh, another Jin! I think that was the one I saw a few minutes ago.' She thought. Unlike Mason, she stayed on the ground. "Hi!" She said, using her usual perky voice. She crossed her legs and tilted her head to one side. "Mason, what are you doing?" She asked. He looked even more wary than usual.

Destery nodded, ignoring the sound that came from the other guy's knuckles. He himself didn't do that, mostly because when he tried, he ended up hurting himself instead. Plus, he sort of believed in that whole, "cracking your knuckles gives you arthritis" thing. It made sense. "Makes sense," he said, drawing the words from his thoughts. "I don't know what to tell you, though. I do the same, and when there's no fights around..." He looked up, blinking. "I either get off my lazy butt and do my schoolwork, or sleep."

((Dx I have nothing to post.... At all. I suppose I could find something for Cori to do, as I had intended before it destroyed my 4-paragraph long post for her.... >.>))

OOC: Winter-- one of them can interact with my character, Rosaleen. She'd kind of .... Sitting around in the courtyard doing absolutely nothing. xD

BiC: "I'm Ayria. I'm new here! Mason was explaining to me about the uh... school!" Ayria beamed at Jing. He chuckled softly. This Ayria was perky-- but fun. And a Jin, like him (well, most likely). "And hello, Taika! Are you both friends?" Taika felt the strange feeling she got when she felt herself going into an awkward situation. For some reason, questions that other people found easy to answer, Taika felt hard to answer.

"No," she said, the word coming out a little coldly. She inwardly flinched as she said it. "Not yet," she added.

"We just met," he said. "Anyways... Ayria... How did you come to be here?"  

Mason decided he should at least try to contribute to the conversation. "She's my cousin and she moved in with me. It's only natural that'd we'd go to the same school." he answered, looking at Jing. He frowned slightly. His words had come out colder than he had expected. It was probably just his nerves, but it was a natural response. Mason didn't really know Jing and they were both from different races that were currently at odds with each other. Mason believed that if any other Dake was in his position and wasn't suspicious, was just stupid.

Rel leaned against the wall, the boredom still obvious on his features. "Well I don't have any school work and I'm not really tired so I guess I'm out of luck." he said with a laugh. He looked the other male over, unable to tell if he was bothering him or not. Usually Rel was good at reading people, but it didn't seem like that this time. "Would you like to do something together?" he asked experimentally. He'd probably refuse, but at least he was making an effort to be friendly.

Aryia couldn't help but feel slightly crestfallen at the cold response from Taika. "Oh... well..." Aryia looked up at Mason. He certainly looked wary of Jing. Aryia wondered why, since Jing looked nicer than most kids in the school, and he seemed rather open. She wondered why Mason would want to tell them that they were cousins, since he was just telling her about this whole blood war thing, something she really didn't understand. "It's a good thing that you're socializing, Taika." Aryia smiled innocently, thinking that this girl would be a little bit unsocial. She turned to Jing. "How long have you been here, Jing?" She asked.

Aryia felt a bit frightened when Taika's eyes seemed to change personality, but Aryia felt much better when the girl was less... Angry. Aryia turned to Jing. "Oh, that's quite some time, Jing." She replied, smiling at him the usual way. Aryia then turned her gaze to Mason. "I'm not sure how long he's been here--" She pointed to her cousin "--But he seems to know the school really well." She grinned at Taika and Jing, feeling much better now that she was talking.
