Eageltalon sighed, though he enjoyed his apprentice's enthusiasm, "Quiet," he said sternly, though there was a trace of gentleness there.

Leopardkit bounced on her toes, craning her neck to watch Ghostpaw, "can you see her?" she whispered to Lightkit.

Minxstar purred, "Then I name you mentor and apprentice," He nuzzled her forehead as she licked his shoulder.

Ghostpaw licked Minxstar's shoulder and turned to Shadowclaw, her eyes wide, though she saw nothing but blackness. "What now?" she asked.

Shadowclaw tried to remain impas.sive as she stepped up to the high rock to touch noses with Ghostpaw. She twitched her whiskers in amusement, smelling Ghostpaw's fear-scent. She bent down gently and whispered in Ghostpaw's ear. "Don't worry. Your doing fine." She quickly touched her nose to Ghostpaw's.

Pantherclaw felt pride rise through his chest as he saw his sister touch noses with her new apprentice. He looked at the other two kits standing on the high-rock and wondered if he woulld get to mentor one of them.

Dustfur looked on with anticipation. ((lol, another fail))

Ghostpaw's ice blue eyes flashed, "I'm not a kit," she hissed as she touched noses with her mentor gingerly, pulling away the moment they touched.

Minxstar glanced around the clearing again, "Nightkit, please come up," he mewed.

Nightkit's legs wobbled as she leapt up smoothly, hunching down in front of Minxstar. 

--

"Pantherclaw, you shall be mentor to Nightpaw. I believe that though you are a newly named warrior, you have shown dedication and wisdom in your judgement," he meowed softly.

Nightkit glanced at her mentor, her eyes widening, not with fear but with anticipation.

Nightpaw purred with amusement, "This is going to be great," She padded after her mentor, tail straight in the air.

Minxstar's eyes flashed with suppressed laughter, "Icekit? PLease come up," he mewed, feeling the kit's fear-scent.

Pantherclaw flicked Nightpaw's ears with his tail, intending for her to stay quiet for the rest of the ceremony. He gazed proudly at his apprentice, hoping he wouldn't let her down.

Shadowclaw jumped down from the high-rock and waited for Ghostpaw to follow suit.

Ghostpaw stumbled slightly but managed to keep her footing, eyes narrowed as she made it to the hard packed earth.

Emberpelt felt sorrow that she would never be able to express her feeling about her kits the way other's could. Ghostpaw is so like my father, she thought with amusemet.

((wait Ghostpaw's blind right? And no one knows? And Silentpaw is Emberpelt's apprentice?))

Shadowclaw watched as her apprentice stumbled on the way down from the high rock. Her whiskers twitched in amusement. She sat down to watch the rest of the ceremony.

Silentpaw poked his head out of the medicine cat den. He had just finished organizing the herbs and felt guilty for missing part of the ceremony. He walked out of the medicine cat den and sat next to Emberpelt. He gave her a quick nod and looked up to see Icekit being named an apprentice.

Emberpelt smiled warmly at her apprentice, "Where were you?" she whispered softly, her eyes bright.

Minxstar flicked the kit's ears with his tail, "It's alright," he murmured before raising his voice, "I will mentor this apprentice," was all he said, bending his head so his eyes were level with Icepaw's.

Shadowpaw grinned at Icepaw, "I told you you'd be fine," she whispered to herself.

Ghostpaw brushed past the other cats as she sat next to Pantherclaw in a huff. Being blind sucks, she thoguht miserably.

Shadowclaw tentively put her tail lightly on Ghostpaw's  back, sensing her misery. "You're going to be a great warrior when I'm done with you." She said warmly, but also fiercly.

Silentpaw looked up at his mentor. "Organizing the herbs again." He said and shrugged. "We are low on alder and borage." He stated, knowing those herbs were two of the most important herbs to keep stock of.

Shadowkit flushed, "No problem," she mewed softly, eyes filling with respect for her nest-mate.

Minxstar touched noses lightly with his apprentice, "You'll be a great warrior some day," he whispered.

Looking up, he glanced at Shadowkit, "And last, but certainly not the least, Shadowkit, please come up," he meowed commadingly.

Shadowkit bounded up gracefully, her black pelt shining like the silverpelt under the hot sun. 

--

"Dustfur, you are a new warrior but a courageous and willing one, you will mentor Shadowpaw," he meowed.

--

Shadowpaw looked at her mentor, stiffling a purr of amusement at the wariror's stricken face.

((Sunhigh - Afternoon))

Emberpelt nodded, "We should look after the ceremony," she meowed seriously, turning back in time to watch Shadowpaw look at her mentor.

Ghostpaw sighed, "That's a very high expectation for me," she mewed grumpily, indicating her size and eyes.

Waterwhisper flushed with pride at her adopted son. He would make her proud, there was no doubt of that. He was a good cat. Thornclaw padded up to her. "Well," he said," This has turned out very good, they will all make fine warriors." Waterwhisper nodded, smiling, today was a good day.

Icepaw hesitated, not sure what to do. All the other newly made apprentices had followed their mentors down off the rock, but his was of course, still up there. He was not sure what to do. 

"Not if you have your will to keep going." She said. "If you set your mind to something, you can accomplish anything." Shadowclaw sighed. She wondered what it would take to show her apprentice that it doesn't matter your size or your strengths.

Silentpaw dipped his head and began to chant the new names of the apprentices with his clanmates.

--

Dustfur sighed. He had been sure he would have gotten an apprentice this time for sure. He had been a warrior longer than Shadowclaw and Pantherclaw. With his tail drooped and his shoulders hunched, he padded out of the camp entrance, determined to try to make himself useful.

Minxstar padded to the edge of Highrock, "Let all clan cats welcoe our new warriors!" he called down to the wating cats.

Emberpelt flushed with pride, "Shadowpaw, Ghostpaw, Nightpaw, Icepaw!" she yowled, along with the rest of her clan.

Shadowpaw's eyes brightened, "This is amazing," she breathed, hardly daring to believe that she was now officially an apprentice, "I'm going to do my best to uphold the warrior code and to serve my clan,"

Ghostpaw's pale pelt burned with embar*censored*ment, "This is awkward," she muttered sullenly.

Nightpaw purred and flicked his tail so that it lay neatly on his forepaws.

Shadowclaw let out a purr of amusement. She batted Ghostpaw's ears. "Enjoy yourself now. You only get your apprentice ceremony one." She said.

Pantherclaw mewed the apprentices names before standing up and giving his pelt a shake. "So, I was thinking that maybe you would like to learn your hunting technique's first." He said to Nightpaw.
