Your teachers have decided on giving you one of these three pokemon:

Chespin

Fletchling

Litleo

Pick one, and write your first role play entry as you receiving this pokemon, your first interaction with it, and nicknaming it. End your first entry by you picking up your pokedex. Be sure to read the introduction posted on the application forum!!

Make sure to include in OOC text the two egg moves that you pick for your pokemon to have. ((OOC text is in parenthesis like this))

((Tailwind and Snatch as the egg moves? uvu))

Gabriel Marquis held his arms up to his chest as he wandered into the room, looking around almost nervously. He cleared his throat, then blinked and headed  further into the room to look over the poke balls present. He looked over them, gently trail his fingers across them before he grabbed one and tossed it up, startled back slightly when, in a flash of light, a small little bird was left standing in front of him. He blinked and slowly knelt down, holding out his hands in a cupped manner.

"Hey there," he whispered softly, tilting his head slightly and smiling wide when the little bird hopped into his hands. He stood up, lifting the little bird closer to him. He wasn't completely sure of the gender so he tilted his head a little bit. "I'll name you Cynder," he murmured softly before he held up his hands to let the firebird hop onto his shoulder.

He wandered over to the Pokedexes and gently picked it up, then smiled nervously as his new partner as its feathers fluffed out and it chirped. He relaxed a bit, then looked down at the dex again, curious.

You held the device on its side. It was the size of an iPhone when closed, but when you pushed the buttons on the sides of the small box, two doors (previously undetectable up to that point) slid open from the front to reveal a small touch screen. A third screen rose from the top, displaying a 'loading' screen.

"This is called a pokedex," said one of your professors, holding an exact replica of your device in his hands. He opened it in the same manner, pressing on the two side buttons. "Once you put your information into the dex, it will take you to this screen." The professor plugged his pokedex into a computer, which projected both screens onto the wall for the whole group to see.

The top screen had six blank boxes, under a section labeled "Party Pokemon." The display box currently had no pokemon registered. Your professor smiled, and took out a pokeball, releasing a pidgey onto the desk.

"You may register pokemon like so," he said. He then aimed the pokedex at the pidgey and pressed the two side buttons once again. A red light scanned the pidgey, and a picture of it appeared in one of his blank boxes. He explained that the dex would hold information for all pokemon that you capture, and you can edit which pokemon it displays as your party pokemon manually.

He touched the box with the pidgey on the top screen with his finger, opening a new screen. This one listed the height and weight for the pidgey, as well as the moves it knew, the gender, and what level it was.

Exiting out of this screen, he showed how the badge system worked. In his palm he held a sample badge. He pushed a button on the bottom screen called "Badge Registration." This button exploded outward when he touched it, leaving a red target behind on the bottom touch screen. He placed the badge on the screen, and like magic the badge dissolved into the pokedex, much the same way a pokemon dissolves into a pokeball.

After the badge was absorbed, a new screen popped up, showing two TM's. "Each leader you face, if you face one, will have two TM's registered to their badge. You may select one of them." He clicked one of the TM's, and the pokedex beeped and returned to the home screen. Now on the left side of the top screen there was a "Badges: 1" button. He clicked it, pulling up the sample badge.

The touch screen at the bottom always displayed a QWERTY keyboard, as well as a button for TM/HM moves. He clicked this button, and clicked on the TM Roost that he had taken from the badge. He then aimed the pokedex at the pidgey and pressed the two side buttons once again. Light flowed in white sparkles from the pokedex to the bird pokemon, and just like that, the pidgey learned roost.

"Any questions?" he asked? Your pokedex prompted you with some questions.

"When you type your name in, your trainer card will pop up. Click yes to confirm it is you, and your information will be registered. Then, you are free to go."

NAME? your pokedex asked you.

((Picture the pokedex almost like a nintendo 3DS in structure, only both screens are touch screens! If you have questions ask "the professor.")) ((Tailwind and Snatch sound great!))

Gabriel carefully input his name into the device, blinking when the input was finished. He stretched out his arms a little bit, glancing at his feathered friend a moment before he clicked the next button.

"Um, can this tell me what gender Cynder is?" he asked sheepishly, looking at the professor with a smile. He shifted slightly, looking at his bird then back at the professor curiously.

Your professor smiled. "Cynder is a girl," he began. "The only female born to a Talonflame and Honchkrow." He eyed her curiously. "She was an odd case... You see, most pokemon, unless they are dark types themselves, cannot have a dark type in their pedigree. Their body rejects the typing and they die..." He continued to stare at your pokemon. "All of her brothers died soon after hatching, but she seems to thrive with the dark typing, even having a dark type egg move. It is very strange indeed."
"Ling!" Cynder agreed, chirping into your ear.
You noticed a few other trainers leaving the room. Rebecca, who left first, was trailed by a Froakie. You didn't know much about her, aside from the fact that she loved water type pokemon, and never stopped talking about how they were the superior type.
Behind her were the two twins, Tina and Tara. They were followed closely by a Swirlix and Spritzee respectively.
Another student shoved the twins out of the way on his way out, nearly knocking them over in the process. Patrick was his name, and you heard him snicker as he left, followed closely by a Pancham.
"The other students will be heading to the courtyard shortly, any other questions?" your professor asked.

Gabriel giggled softly at the chirping before he nodded and turned to register his Fletchling in his Pokedex. "Um, no, thank you Professor," he said with a smile before he turned to shuffle off, hanging back from the other students. He would rather not try to get involved in any skirmishes just yet.

Especially Patrick. He made him kind of nervous. He was kind of a jerk and considering he wasn't too great on his own he'd rather not end up in a fight just yet. Patrick kind of scared him.

You left the room, hanging back from the others, when you heard a voice. "Gabriel!" it said. Up beside you came your friend, Megan. "What pokemon did you get?" she asked, walking beside you. You have known Megan for years, ever since you started Lumiose Academy.
Beside Megan ran a cute litte Dedenne. "Enne!" it squeaked up at Cynder. Megan laughed.
"That's Clara," she introduced.

"O-oh! Uh, I got Fletchinder. Her name's Cynder," Gabriel responded with a soft chuckle as Jr rubbed his arm. "Oh! Um, do you mind if I register your Dedenne in my Pokedex?" he asked, smiling sheepishly. "You can register Cynder too!"

He looked at his new companion and stroked his fingers along her feathers, seeming almost comforted by the warmth the little bird seemed to radiate. "She's um...she's really warm. I'm sure she won't mind you petting her," he offered, gently lifting her from his shoulder to let her settle in Hus hands, chirping up at Megan.

Megan squealed, patting Cynder on the head, who chirped happily, rubbing her head against her fingers. "She is so cute! Of course you can register Clara!" She fumbled around in her purse before producing her pokedex, nearly dropping it on the floor before managing to scan Cynder in.
The two of you had almost reached the courtyard where the banquet was the be held. Megan opened the door and stepped outside, holding Clara for you to scan. You took in the surroundings first.
Outside was awesome. It was a beautiful, spring day. The other students who had decided on non-pokemon related careers, were talking with their family members, being given flowers and such. Many of the parents had pokemon of their own, for the training regulations were not nearly as strict during their time.
There was a buffet on the left side of the courtyard, a tall one for humans, and a shorter one for the pokemon. You notice a few pokemon helping themselves.
In the center were tables with gorgeous flowered centerpieces, probably picked from the routes just outside of Lumiose.
On the right side, however, is what you find the most interesting. There are three battlefields that had been holographically set up. You knew about holo-fields, and how they worked. A small thin box about the size of a stamp with one button is the source. If one walked into the middle of what they wanted to be a 'battlefield,' you only had to push the center button. The little box would float into the air, and project down a hologram, complete with trainer boxes, boundary lines, and the center circle.
Across the courtyard, you see your family. Megan giggled at the sight, still holding Dedenne. "What do you want to do first?"

((You may role play the actions of your parents and family members if you decide to speak with them!))

Gabriel scanned the Dedenne with a soft smile before he turned to start towwards the buffet. "Um, the buffet and then I'm going to go say hello to my family," he responded with a sheepish smile before he looked at Cynder. "I want to introduce them to Cynder."

He moved towards the buffet, letting Cynder flutter from his shoulder to get food from the Pokemon buffet.. "I um. I hope they like her, so far she's really nice. A sweet little bird." He smiled at his little Pokemon before he cleared his throat. "Hopefully I can be a good trainer for her. I'm not the most athletic, after all."

"Of course you will be!" Megan encouraged, following you to the buffet with Clara just behind. She started getting food along with you. "I'm sure your parents will love Cynder."
Beside you, you saw Patrick grabbing food as well, his Pancham bullying the other pokemon out of the way to hoard the deserts for himself.
"I really can't stand him," Megan muttered softly to you. "Ugh someone needs to teach him a lesson."
"Ene!" squeaked Clara.
"I'm going to find my family before I give him a piece of my mind. Find me later!" She waved at you as she walked off.
You could see that your family had noticed you, and were heading your direction.

((You can control your family members, they are part of you after all!))

Cynder let out an offended chirp before fluttering back up to Gabriel's shoulder, staring down at the offending Pancham. It wasn't long before the Marquis family, consisting of his parents, walked up on their own to congratulate their son and greet his new Pokemon, who they fawned over almost immediately.

Cynder puffed up in a rather pleased manner, nestling up to her Trainer before he waved slightly. His parents weren't able to stay for a whole long amount of time, needing to get to something or other. They bid one another a fond farewell before he turned to look at Patrick with a frown, not sure if he should try to pick a fight or not. He was timid by nature and he didn't want to cause a scene...

"Get out of the way," Patrick grumbled, pushing past you and nearly knocking you over. The Pancham on the ground was about to go to blows with Cynder on the ground. The two pokemon were snarling at each other, starting to make a scene.
In a few minutes, unless the situation is controlled, there could be a battle right under the buffet table.

Gabriel let out a squeak and stumbled backwards, green eyes wide.

"I-I challenge y-you to a battle Patrick!"

He covered his mouth after he blurted that out, eyes widening further before he shrunk back. He moved quickly to gently scoop up his little firebird, holding her close. "U-um...i-if...that's o-okay..."

He glanced down, unable to believe he just did that. What if Cynder got seriously hurt because of Patrick and his pancham? What if he really wasn't cut out to be a trainer and this proved it?

"You're on, punk," he spat at you. Your parents looked on, shocked, as he shoved you out of the way and walked towards one of the battlefields, followed by his Pancham.
"Did that... really just happen?" asked your mother.
"Well come on son, don't let him treat you like that!" your father barked.

((Oh at some point can he either get a shiny zorua/zoroark or a shiny member of the Fennekin line? ;v;))

Gabriel nodded, flinching when he was shoved. He moved over to the battlefield and held out his hands to let Cynder fly out, the new trainer looking nervous. "O-okay, um...let's...let's get this started then," he murmured softly, glancing down.

He sure hoped this would turn out okay. He didn't need a huge blow to his confidence this early on in the game. He had only just gotten his partner and he was looking forward to trying to get stronger over the course of his journey, to stop being so weak and...maybe even get over his slight asthma problems if that was possible.

"C-Cynder! Use Growl then Tackle!"

((Now the way battles work is you make the first move, calling out the attack you want your pokemon to perform, sometimes even chains of attacks. Then I will control opponent response, and how the battle plays out. Then you order another move again. So in your next post, call out a command or two and I will post how the battle flows, using a generator online to determine the effectiveness of certain attacks and dodges. ^^))
