It was Sophia that sat down and she could see he was upset. "Oh dear." she said. She threw away Asher's food and Asher got up. He felt his phone vibrate so he looked at the text. He gave it to Sophia, "I'll go with you." she said.
They walked hand in hand to the stables but Xavier wasn't there yet. Asher growled softly before simply sliding down the wall pulling Sophia down with him. They waited, Sophia resting her head on his shoulder Asher resting his head on hers.
He closed his eyes and could feel the soft breeze on his face, he could smell the hay and he could hear the groan of the trees and the horse's movements. "Asher." Sophoa whispered and nudged him softly. He opened his eyes and saw Xavier walking.
"Why do you think he called me by my full name?" he asked quietly. "I don't know, maybe to make it sound serious." she whispered. Asher snorted and Sophia nudged him, again. "Sophia, if this gets nasty I want you to rack up both of our horse. Rain and Toto. Just the bridles and lead them out." he whispered. Sophia nodded, "I would have done that anyways." Sophia whispered back.

[Um, unless Xavier throws a punch I guess Asher would defend himself. He wouldn't hit Xavier on purpose. He would back away, yell some nasty words before getting on his horse and ride away.]

Xavier grinned malevolently, offering a glare to Sophia, as in a warning for her leaving. With this, his ex
pression changed - from evil to sweet. But not his attitude. Before he knew it, his fist was right in Asher's face. It had been a full force punch, so no doubt he had at least a broken nose.
Striding past him and tacking up Amethyst, he pulled her reins over her head, before shifting into his wolf and catching them in his mouth. A 'goodbye' snarl escaped his jaws as he opened the gate and sprinted off, his beautiful horse beside him. Xavier had no idea where he was going, but just wanted to be away. Again.
No, he wasn't going feral. He was going to stay in his wolf-form and act like an out-cast; a rogue for a little, maybe. Xavier wanted to learn how to hunt, and, oddly, eat raw, warm , flesh. Not around his horse, though - he would let her graze and he would find the occasional fruit to give her. Maybe this would work.
What Xavier didn't realize, though, was that he had his phone on him in his humanhuman-form. They'd be able to track him down, possibly put him to sleep. Maybe. Yet... He hadn't gone crazy. He'd softened up in his time around Asher, and now felt weak and cold in his run. To stay warm, he kept running until he was completely out of breath, which took him a lot of miles.

Asher glared at Xavier and gave a quick punch back. Before hurrying to Sophia, "You okay?" he asked. She nodded with tears in her eyes. Asher signed and rubbed the back of his neck. "What the hell did I do?" Asher asked. Sophia shrugged her shoulders, "How you feeling?" she asked. "Hurt, confused and wanting to punch somebody." he growled. He shook his head, "I'm going to go and see the nurse." he groaned and she shook her head.
He headed towards the nurse office and they fixed him up up quickly. He had to have a bandage on his nose for about six weeks. He headed out the office but was called back, "Asher. What happened?" the kind nurse asked. "Punched." he said softly.
Asher headed out the office and walked towards the headmaster's office. He was allowed to meet him. "Afternoon Sir." he said. The headmaster, "Ah Asher. Do we have a problem?" he asked. Asher nodded his head, "Before you talk, I would just like to thank you for calming the crowd and calling the emergency services." he said. "It was no problem, sir." he said, quietly. "What's up?" the headmaster asked. "My roommate, we started off bad and we got along fine. He's been off recently. I just said something, it wasn't meant to be hurtful. It wasn't hurtful. Something clicked and he started throwing knives in our dorm and narrowly missed me. He didn't apologize, instead I moved to another dorm for awhile. Then he told me to meet me at the stables and then he just lost it and punched me." he said.
"This is Xavier?" he asked. Asher nodded, "What do you suggest I do?" he asked. "I was wondering if for the week I could go somewhere else." Asher asked. The headmaster signed and leaned back in his chair. "Well, where you wanna go?" he asked curiously. "There's a hotel two hours away." Asher told him. The headmaster sighed, "Pack yourself. I'll book you in." Asher thanked him and headed out the office and ran to Andrew's dorm. He packed his things and left a note and then headed to his original dorm.
Xavier wasn't there but the knife in the wall was. He growled at it and packed some more stuff. He packed his laptop and his book before sighing and leaving. He headed down to the headmaster's office. "A week, from now." the headmaster said. Asher thanked him and jumped in his car. He threw his bag in the back seat and say in the driver' seat. He punched the steering wheel for a good five minutes. He took out his phone, I don't know what I did, Xavier. I tried to be friends, but something snapped. I'm leaving the school for a bit. Even thinking about leaving the school. Maybe meeting somebody that can help me stop feeling horrible. I hope you are happy and meet somebody. Asher. He sent it and drove to the hotel.
A while later he arrived, un-packed his stuff and flopped on his bed. He called roommate for dinner and ate it before going to bed.

After a brief rest, Xavier continued on his running through the forest. He wouldn't stop until he found a stream. Maybe then he'd turn back. Who knows. With no way of telling that Asher had texted him, he just pounded on with Amethyst. She seemed to love running through the forest the way she was, with the unpoluted air.
After one more hour of running, there was finally a stream. Well, it was too small, but if he followed it down it would definitely get wider, so that's exactly what he did. Xavier and his companion stopped where the stream was more of a river, so he shifted back to his human. A text message from Asher was the first thing he realized. Checking the phone, his body sagged against a tree as he read it.
When are you going back? I've left. Maybe for good. Until you get back, I'll definitely stay away. I can't bare to face anything...
Xavier replied. He'd missed out so many words he'd wanted to say: his mixed emotions had prevented him.
Xavier mostly felt anger and resent towards Asher. The other side was sympathy, and Xavier himself felt guilty for what he'd done. These emotions were also the hidden message behind the words 'I can't bare to face anything'.
Two days in this forest had been his maximum - maybe he'd keep it. Maybe, in this form, he'd follow the forest trail to town and pick out Asher's scent so he would know when Asher left. Tomorrow he would do so. All his appetite had gone, but his thirst still nagged at him, so he transformed to thereforth lean down to the water's edge and lap up a few lavish mouth fulls. In the end, he fell asleep curled by Amethyst's hooves.

Th next morning, Asher read the text and replied. Probably next week Monday. He sent it and flopped down on his bed. He had many texts from Sophia, but he didn't reply to any of them. He sighed and took out his laptop and went into Google. He looked up a few things before shutting it down and laying on his bed. He looked up at the ceiling before getting up and went to the balcony and sitting down on one of the chairs.
Asher watched people walk around and he watched a group of boys laugh and he put his face into his hands. Not long did he sit up properly and think, why did Xavier punch me? It was silly to say this, but Asher was scared of Xavier now. Scared what he would do next, he had punched him and threw a knife at him.
Asher slouched in his chair before getting up and leaving the room and went down to dinner. He ordered some ribs and ate them greedily. He has eaten breakfast or lunch, the whole day had sped by.

Approximately a week passed by quickly. It was Monday, and Xavier had developed a liking for raw deer meat and rabbit meat - whilst the flesh was still warm, and heated blood was still within the creature. Hunting wasted a lot lf energy anyway, so any failed hunts left him in vain. Today was the day he'd meet Asher. All he knew was that Asher had been out to town, and this was the day he was returning.
Xavier waited by the institute's entrance, hidden in the undergrowth beside it. Only today he'd ran back down here, so the sights and smells were repugnant. He wasn't used to any of this.
Asher had to be close, Xavier could hear footsteps approaching. Was it Asher? Asher or not, neither prospect mattered. All he had to do was keep hidden. A loud, clear snort came from Amethyst. Great! Snarling lowly at her, he quietly drew himself into the shadows, watching cautiously around the entrance. Xavier could barely make out a figure behind a bush. At least a silhouette was just about there for him to view.
Xavier braced himself, his now wolf-like instincts causing him to lean forward into a protective crouch, ready to spring. Who-ever heard Amethyst would be wondering what a horse was doing so far from the stables... Either that or they were dull enough not to be bothered.

[Asher's arriving a car, but let's have a look.]
Asher showered, changed, ate breakfast and packed his car before heading the long way back. He had fun being away from the institute, he met new friends. They were real friends. Asher turned into the insinuate and saw a figure walking. He looked and saw it was Andrew. "Hop in, mate." Asher said and was flashed a grateful grin.
He put his foot down and the car jumbled down the road. Asher stopped the car and got out and un-packed his car and locked it before heading up to the dorm. He saw Sophia waiting by his dorm door and cringed. She was angry, furious. "Where were you?" she asked. "I left the Institute." Asher explained where he had gone and managed to calm her down.
She was over it quickly and they both went inside to un-pack. Un-packing was easy and fun, so he lay down in his bed and Sophia joined him and they cuddled. He kissed her forehead and stiffened when the door opened. Sophia stiffened as well and Asher held onto her tightly.

Xavier still hid in the bushes. His nervous eyes scanned everything before him, he he realized it was only a deer that had wondered out from the dense undergrowth. Indicating that Amethyst was to stay where she was, he crept out and began in a pursuit.
Xavier's tail was low - almost dragging on the leaves as he stalked the creature. Luckily he was down-wind. When he was close enough, he leapt on his prey with a loud snarl. She bucked and made a racket; oh dear. Alarmed voices were nearby. This distraction was only for a moment, although it was enough. Her back hooves were in his face in seconds, causing him to howl out in pain and whimper. Everyone would have heard that.
Abandoning his prey, he realized that Asher had already gone in, but was too late himself. Shrieks of 'wolf!' cacophoned around the whole Institute. Xavier fled back into the forest just as men with tranquilizers came out, following him.
The slow men weren't fast enough for him. He easily out ran them. But one problem remained: there would probably now be people on guard, and Asher must have heard of a smokey-grey wolf with amber eyes by now. He wouldn't be able to get back in, and just then he realized something. All his time as a wolf had made him forget how to transform back. It could be fixed, but nobody would recognize him to help him.

[Yeah. Sorry, I was going to reply but I have to look after my dog. She's old and needs somebody to sit by her today. She won't eat and is dizzy or disorientated. Can't walk, she's a bit tipsy. Just gave her some soup and she's lapping that up. So sad to see animals like this.]
Asher had waited in his dorm for awhile now and sighed and went into the hall. "Did you hear about the wolf in the forest?" a girl asked. "Why's it a problem, this is a school for shapeshifters." Asher asked. "Yeah, but this wolf didn't shift when men went after it with guns." she said.
Asher remembered Xavier saying something about going feral and his eyes widened. He immediately pushed past people and headed outside and shifted for the first time since he arrived at this school.
He was eagerly in his leopard form and sprinted into the forest. He went deep into the forest and sniffed the air for wolf. He found a wolf scent and trotted to find the scent. When he picked it up, he started to run and he ran.
He shifted into a human form when he saw a wolf, "Xavier?" Asher whispered, prepared for a fight it was needed. "Xavier?" Asher shouted a bit louder, "Mate?" he whispered, his lips trembling a bit. No time for soppy Asher, he can't let his guard down if he attacks.
Asher shifted into a wolf, he didn't really know how to shift he just did it. He shifted back into a human, maybe Xavier had forgotten. He shifted back into a wolf, "Think of what you are shifting into." he shouted. He thought of himself and shifted into his human form quickly. He stood back to see what would happen.

[Oh... Good that he's eating, anyway. My cat's an old bird too - 18 years - and she's got a few problems. Maybe not too bad, but I hope your beauty gets better soon. :)]
As he picked up Asher's scent, Xavier yelped and tried to run. His luck that a leopard was a lot faster... Whizzing around to face Asher, he realized that he was giving him instructions on how to shift back. He tried, but he couldn't. Though he wasn't completely feral. Yet, blood splattered his muzzle and a bloody trail was left by his paws. Asher was probably scared of him.
Pacing back and forth, Xavier found a large rock. Although it took him quite a while, he managed to engrave:
I haven't gone feral. I just can't remember how to shift back. I'm not going to be accepted back, anyway.
If a wolf could look sad, he did. Suddenly he realized he'd left his horse by the men with guns. With a snarl he decided he'd run for his horse, try to grab her and sprint. Pelting down to his horse, he risked running into the opening. Xavier grabbed his horse's reins as fast as he could before whizzing around, back into the forest. Too late.
A gunshot filled the air, and an abrupt, sharp pain shot up his leg. A tranquilizer. Yelping for the help he probably wouldn't get, he managed to sprint far enough for them to not find him. There, with his horse nuzzling him in alarm, he let his head flop and the odd, dragging feeling submerge him.
[The tranquilizer will only last about 15 mins, so no biggy ^-^]

Asher read the message before watching Xavier sprint off. He heard a gunshot and he shifted into his leopard and ran, fast. He saw the men looking at the wolf and they got a fright to see a leopard charge at them. He head butted one of them and hissed, scrunching up his face. A man aimed his gun and Asher shifted quickly. He dropped his gun immediately. "Sorry, didn't know." the man mumbled. Asher's face darkened and the men immediately left seeing a furious young man.
Asher smirked in success and picked up the limp body and placed it on the horse. He wasn't sure why he was doing this, after all that Xavier did. "I don't know why I'm helping you after you being a crap friend." he mumbled. He lead the horse to the stables where he placed the wolf on the ground and untacked the horse and groomed her. He gave her some food and water before picking up the body and taking him to the nurse.
This had only been 10 minutes, so he went to see the headmaster. He welcomed Asher back and Asher spoke to the headmaster. "I have to accept Xavier, he's not allowed to leave. You can move dorms though." the headmaster said. "I'll see how we go." Asher replied. The headmaster sighed, "I can see Xavier will be a great man when he is older." the headmaster said.
Asher left and waited outside the nurse's office. "He's waking up." the nurse said. "I'll wait here thanks." he said. The nurse looked at him before shrugging her shoulders and heading back inside. Asher leaned over and played with his hands as he waited.

Xavier woke in a strange bed, alarmed and still a wolf. He leapt up and gazed around him, his tail high and his fur on end. When he saw Asher he settled slightly, but still snarled at the nurse. She looked frightened of him. Hunting a deer must have looked odd.. He jokingly gave her a wolfy grin.
Standing and shaking his pelt, he started towards Asher, attempting to say a thank you. All that came from him was a small, playful yelp, and what was clearly a laugh afterwards. "Mister, get back on this bed this instant and shift back so I can investigate you!" The furious nurse ranted, so Xavier obediently got back on the bed, yet couldn't transform. Another wolf laugh left him. Really, it was one of relief and he just fell back on the bed.
As soon as the feeling in his body returned, a sharp pain shot through his muzzle. Xavier really wanted to say something. He couldn't. Side-effects of being a wolf for so long. What an idiot he was.
He silently hoped that Asher would say something - did nurses have a way of shifting you back? If they didn't, it would take him a while to recover. Especially with which was now a group of nurses shouting at him from every corner of the room. Xavier just sat, looking smug, on the bed and craving deer meat. Being in the forest had made him a sarcastic, ignorant young man.

After seeing Xavier, Asher smirked He heard the nurses shouting and he laughed. He entered the room and leaned on the door frame, it was a cheeky smug look he was going for. He stuck his hands in his pockets and smirked, "He forgot how to shift." he said, a smug smile on his face.
A couple young nurses stopped and stared and Asher smiled at them and watched them blush and laughed. "These young girls." the older nurse groaned and Asher laughed. "Come on Betty, you know you love me too." Asher smirked, "Don't flatter yourself Austin." she growled and Asher laughed once again.
The older nurse, Betty, was an old family friend. Asher smiled again and flashed a wink at the girls who burst into quiet giggles. "Hey mate. When you done finished trying to shift, I'm off to go to town to get some things and then schooling Toto if you want to join." Asher said.
Asher Kyle Austin had let the grudge go, something he rarely did.
Asher got in his car and drove to the Tack Shop. Toto didn't have her own tack so Asher bought him his own. His father was filthy rich so money wasn't a problem, but Asher tried not to let money go to his head. No matter what happened to his father.
He bought an expensive shiny black jumping saddle and two white numnahs and a lime one. He bought some white boots and a flashy black bridle. He bought a few earnets and grooming and a crop for show only.
He bought himself a proper helmet, a couple show shirts, a show jacket and white, tan and colour jodhpurs. He decided to buy some long black boots a new leather halter and lead rope for Toto.
"Would you like the halted engraved?" the man behind the counter asked. Asher nodded his head, "Falcon." he said. The man did it in gold quickly and told Asher the price. He paid it quickly, "You must have been saving for very long." the man said. Asher agreed and placed it all in the boot.
Asher un-packed his things and made space around the tack room for his things. He then changed in the changing room by the stables and tacked up his horse, he placed on the earnet and boots so Toto would get used to them and Asher grabbed the crop and showed Toto so he wasn't scared.
He put on his helmet and mounted and saw the instructor. "You look very smart." he said. "Yeah, I bought the tack today and thought to try it out on him so he would be used to it for the show." Asher said. The instructor smiled, "I can give you a lesson if you want." Mr Green offered. Asher accepted and walked into the arena. "What you doing?" Mr Green asked. "Dressage, jumping nothing in particular." Asher said. "My friend might be coming, I'm not sure yet." he said.
They began with the lesson in the meantime.
