I had dressed back into my normal everyday clothes, tossing my gym clothes back into my locker. Grabbing a sketchpad, I tossed it into my bag overflowing with crumpled drawings. It looks like time to clear it out. I'd need another box to slip under my bed.

I shrugged, walking through the halls in search of Paradise. I stood in the locker room, pacing back and forth when my friend came up to me.

"Who're waiting for?" He smiled, seeming to already know.

"Go away." I rolled my eyes, smiling. He laughed, patting my back and walking off, waving goodbye. Leaning against my locker, the hall began to clear and I sat down on the ground, waiting for her to make an appearance. 

I stood, waving back as I made my way over to her. Leaning against the locker beside hers, I smiled at her. That, however, was after I glared at my locker, which popped open, snapping it shut and slipping the lock into place. I had always believed my locker was broken. 

"So, how was cla.ss?" I asked the question openly towards her, still feeling proud of my grand shot. I slightly blushed, remembering it was the thought of her that made me do it. I was weird like that. One thought could pump me up for a whole day.

Paradise shrugged, as she put her books away in one hand, and casually putting her sketch book inside her back pack. "Like any other clas.s..." She looked back up at him, and said, "Meaning, boring and confusing." Paradise was never good with Calculus. Then started putting more books in her locker. Trying not to smile by the fact that he was still there talking to her.

I grinned happily; If I had a tail, it probably would've been wagging. Within a second, I had scooped her into a hug, twirling her around. I suddenly realized what I'd just done and dropped her gently, backing up five steps, my face completely red. It'd never happened before, but I'd had so much joy inside me that I might have exploded. The humiliation I would face from today on would be unbearable. Luckily, we were the last in the hall.

More concerned about how much a freak she thought I was now, in my mind anyway, I took a step closer, still keeping a distance; I mean what girl doesn't freak out when a guy she just met randomly hugs her? I tripped over my words; they didn't want to leave my mouth.

"I am so... sorry. That's never actually happened before. I guess... I really don't know how to treat girls. My friends do it to me and... they kind of rubbed off." I shifted on my feet, embarra.ssed, as I brushed a hand through my hair, not believing how I'd reacted to just seeing her standing there before me.

Paradise could feel herself turning red, just as much as he was. Why i was blushing? She had no idea. It took her a second to realize what he just did, but to her, there was nothing wrong with hugging a friend. What sort of freaked her out, was how random it was. 

She smiled at his embarressment, and said, "No it's fine..." Biting her lip, as she got her backpack off the floor. Then chuckled, softly. It was kind of fun, watching him get embarressed. Usually she was the one, who blushed every time she talked to someone. Now it was him, who was blushing with her, and she was the one smiling at him. Something was up, here.

"Why...Why did you do that?" Looking at him confused.

(( I had so many issues typing this...Because i think your whole 'first person' is rubbing off on me! And since i am writing a story in first person, i am getting more used to it. And every time i typed, I kept accidently putting 'I's ' LOL So if you see a sentence in first person, it was by accident.))

I hesitated before speaking. "Um, I... I had lots of... I couldn't control my joy I guess. Sorry." I laughed, taking a step closer to her. It wasn't like me to be blushing and shifting on my feet like this. It was like I had lost my manliness, not that I had any, which was a thought I'd been thinking so much lately.

At least I hadn't zoned out. Well, technically I did, being these kind of things only happened when I did. I shrugged it off.

"You ever get that feeling where you're feeling extremely happy, excited? I felt that way, but I don't know why..." I'd noticed that almost all the time I'd been with her, she'd been blushing, however, now it was me. 

I laughed, taking another step closer to her and positioning my arms behind my back. "I'm sorry, just erase the last couple minutes from your mind." I paused. "though, that must have been the most exciting and strangest part of my day." I laughed, smiling at her. 

Paradise smiled back at him. "I don't really get that excited, but I think I know what you mean." She said, with a laugh. 

(( ^^ Don't reply...I''m not done. I forgot, Did they plan on Paradise going over his house after school? As in, right now?))  

I thought for a moment. "DO you "want" to come over today?" I raised a brow. I truly wanted her to come over. I would let her come over any day to be honest. 

"Francis probably won't mind. We're having pizza tonight if you want to stay for dinner or something. Yeah, pizza. Again." We'd eaten pizza the whole week. I was getting tired of it. I waited for her response, eventually not blushing as much. 

I nearly jumped into her arms out of pure joy. Luckily I didn't; I would've crushed her. I nodded to answer her. I should've explained to her one thing first.

"Okay. Francis isn't able to pick me up today, so I kind of have to walk. My house is about a ten minute walk so... you wanna go right now?" I began walking, motioning to the door. I went slow just in case, mainly to stay near her.  

Paradise shrugged, and said, "I don't care. I sometimes walk to my house too..." As she walked up to him. When they were on the parking lot, leaving the school area, she chose to be the one to break the silence this time. "So Francis...Who is that again?"

I smiled at her, making my bag more comfortable on my back. 

"He's my cousin. After my aunt died, I lived with him. He's an old guy. Won't mind much if I bring other people over. I think... I've not brought anyone to my house except my friend James. That was only once. I'm sure Francis will like you. He honestly doesn't care if I bring anyone over. He really takes care of me because he has to, so... yeah." I paused. "And... I understand your mom is your guardian?" 

I turned slightly, continuing to walk forward. SHe'd not spoke of her mother much. Maybe it was a bad thing on my part for asking the question. 

Paradise rolled her eyes, slightly at his dorkiness.Gaurdian... She chuckled. But she kind of liked Lake that way. Though she would never admit it, unless he straight forward asked her if she did.

Shaking her head, slightly at his question, she replyed. "Yeah...She takes care of me...I guess you could say..." She never liked to complain, but she was about to say 'I take care of myself. She don't care about me'. But she doesn't give out information like that. Who knows who could get her mom in trouble.
