"Uh, how about we offer him a ride or something. I wonder if he's human or something else." Ara said. "Or you could swim over there and help him fix a boat. The guy's sorta freaking out." The boy had responded to the water Ace threw. "Help! My boats on fire, it's sinking! Please!"

The boy grabbed her hand and pulled himself onto her hippocampus. "Luckily I didn't panick." He told Ace. "I accidentally set my boat on fire and couldn't stop it. It was just to out of control. Oh, my name's Eric Gorcino." Ara personally agreed that he was idiotic. "So, are you human?" She asked. The boy just ignored her.

"Either way, we can't have uo drowning," Ace siged. "Whether you're a human or not. Unfortunatly." Her hipocampi started to back up, before rejoining the others. "Hey, you're a fire user, right?" she didn't wait for his confirmation. "I ahd a friend a few years ago who was a fire user, too. He showed me a few tricks. He was showing off. Anyway, I could teech you how to stop the fire. I may not be a fire user, but I still know a bit about using fire." The hipocampis started going faster again. "Anyway, where do we drop you off?"

Eric said, "Cool." And smiled. "Oh, the storm the other night blew me a ton of miles. I live in Chicago. Are you sure I can't travel with you guys? Where are you headed. I wouldn't mind taking a vacation. Things are getting pretty rough at home."

"We're heading to Long Island," Ace answered Eric. "From there, we're going to run to New York city, to spend the night," she paused. "After that, we're going to head to Oswego. Glimmer and I had our friends drop our cars off there." Ace smiled as she though of her car. She loved it. "Anyway, it won't be easy. It'll be more or less around one hundred miles to get from the coast of Long Island to New York. You sure you're up for it?"

"Absolutely! Sounds great! So what exactly are all of you guys? It seems like a pretty large group to be traveling together." Eric said. He was curious, and the girl he was riding the odd sea creature on was very nice, and pretty. Ara suddenly felt sick. He was going with them? That sucked. She wasn't exactly thrilled about a fire wielder joining them. Wasn't there already enough people? And he hadn't taken the blood oath. Ara wanted to tell him to hit the road but there was no road. He would have nowhere to go. Ace probably wouldn't be okay with that. Neither would Angel, because well, he was a freakin' angel. She just kep her mouth shut and fell back, pulling up her hippocampus beside Angel's.

"It's okay, Ara." Angel said as the hipocampi's drew closer together. "Let Ace have her turn." He kissed Ara on the cheek before zooming forward. "I bet your hipocami isn't faster than mine!" He threw over his shoulder, before zooming on ahead. "I'm a shapeshifter. All wolfine and canine stuff. I have a sister, named Kittana, and she turns into feline related stuff. Over there-" she turned and pointed her finger in the direction of Ara and Angel-"Are our two little lovebirds. Ara's a vampire and Angel's an angel. Strange huh? And over there-" she pointed to Glimmer and Drake-"is our other pair of lovebirds. Or lovefish or something, 'cause Glimmer's a mermaid. And Drake's the necromancer. The fish and the wizard. Weird." |

"Wow, that's really wierd." Replied Eric. "I wonder how they manage..." Then he laughed. "I guess you guys have been together on other adventures too huh?" He briefly touched the intricate tatto on the back of Ace's neck, observing it. ///// At the mention of him, Drake looked up and nodded hey at the new guy. Then he returned his gaze to Glimmer who's green hair was flying about a mile behind her. ///// Ara completely forgot about Eric and sped up, leaning down for extra speed. "You're going down, birdboy!" She laughed competitively, as she coaxed her sleek black hippocampus to swim even faster.

Angel dramatically gasped, and hand over his heart. "I ain't a bird, sweet-haaaaart. I'm an angel." he snickered, before letting his wings spread out behind him. "Arachelle... I'm gonna leave you beind!" he purred, before jumping off his hipocampi and into the air where he zoomed toward Ara, before tackling Ara into the water, off her hipocampi. "Got ya," he said as he wrapped an arm around her waist as they hovered in the air above the water. "It get's annoying, let me tell you that," Ace rolled her eyes. "Ara tries to, like, make me want to kill her, and Angel... well, he's average, and then there's Glimmer, who keeps acting so inoccent. it just annoys me. And Drake... well, Drake's okay, but we don't really know each other well." She covered Eric's hand that was on her neck, slipping it off. "That's from the blood promise we made yesterday." she explained. |

Eric laughed. "Yes, I can see how thrilled you are to be their B.F.F." He looked at Ara and Angel then glanced at Glimmer and Drake. "What exactly is a blood promise? I just heard it was an unbreakable oath where a certain knife was needed." He took another long look at the tattoo.///// Ara laughed heartily. "Cheater!" "Mine are better," Angel said childishly, causing him to look cuter than he already was. His white wings reflected the sun, cauang the outlining of feathers to look gold. A few loose feahers floated out of the giant things as he flew. Looking at the horizon, he could see a piece of raised ground. "We're approaching land!" he yelled down to Ace, who seemed to be busy talking to the new boy. Eric? He said his name was.---Ace looked to where Angel was pointing. Sure enough, she could see an island forming. She turned back to Eric. "A blood promise is a promise that can be broken." she explained. "Well, if you break it, you turn into a lost soul. Someone who is forever alone. Like... Say if a vampire broke the promise. Then, they'd go to a land where there was no food or people or blood or whatever. They'd be tortured for eternity, with a never ending thirst. They wouldn't die, because they're already dead. Basically, a lost soul is someone who is tortured in the worst way, and forever. And you're right, it does require a specific knife. The Ancient Knife..." she showed him her sliced palm. "You cut yourself with the knife, and mix the blood that comes out of it with the other person you're promising with. Then you drink the mixed blood from a special goblet. This always happens under the full moon at midnight. It can't happen under different surcumtances." She explained.

Eric nodded. "Cool. But the blood doesn't sound very appetizing. Maybe for your creepy friend but not me." He joked. Ara heard that and gritted her teeth but calmed down. "Are not!" She yelled at Angel. Drake rolled his eyes at Ara and Angel's antics. "This is why we are not that immature." He told Glimmer. "I heard that!" Said Ara loudly. Right now, land sounded good for everyone.

Ace chuckled. "Yea, you seem to be getting the ghist of it all." Ace fingered the back of her neck again. "And yea. The blood isn't the best. It, like, burns your throat," she paused when the hipocampi's slowed to a stop. They were nearly at land, for it was barely a few hundred feet away. "We get off here," Glimmer declared, unmounting her hipocampi. Ace and Angel followed suit, Angel floating slowly back down to the surface of the water. Ace dived off her hipocampi and into the freezing water. "You coming, Eric?" she shouted up to him. "They gotta leave." |

"Kay, coming." Responding Eric. He decided that he wasn't making any blood promises any time soon. He clambered off the hippocampus, getting wet in he process. Ara and Drake climbed off as well, except more gracefully. Eric watched as the group of hippocampi swam away, disappearing into the horizon. Marvelous creatures.

[Skipping to New York, New York.] Ace walked into to the hotel. It wasn't exactly an exotic place, but it was fine for just a few nights. It would've been better if it wasn't so cramped up, but that was okay. It wasn't like they'd have to live there, right? Anyway. Ace slipped into the hotel, dragging her friends behind her. She stalked over to the manager's desk, where there was already a person before them. Listening to their conversation, Ace heard "...but there aren't any other hotels avalible! Why can't you bring the price down just a little bit?" After that, the manager shooed the man away, telling him to "get you and your ungrateful self" out of his hotel. "Hello kids, what can I do you for?" the manager grumbled, apparently in a bad mood. He was absently chewing on the cap of a pen, for there was already blue ink on his lips. "What kinda rooms do you have here?" Ace asked. The man answered her, as though annoyed that she was talking to him. "Didn't your parents ever teach you not-" he paused when Ace stiffened. "I just want to know what the rooms here are like," Ace growled, her eyes hard. The man gulped, apparently scared of the seventeen year old girl. "Um... each room has two gueen beds and a pullout couch. There's a small kitchenette in there, with a stove and fridge. Plus a bathroom, a little computer and a television set." Ace nodded. "We'll take two rooms then please." She bent down and pulled off her shoe. Reaching her hand into the black boots, she pulled out a credit card. She glared at Glimmer, who was shocked and surprised to see Ace with a credit card. "What?" she asked, defending herself. "Just because I live in a tiny appartment doesn't mean I don't have money, dumba.s." She handed her card to the manager, who rung her up. "There you go," He said, handing her back her card and six room keys. A dozen minutes later, Ace and the group were sitting in the lobby on two couches facing eachother. "Okay, here's how it's gonna work," she started. "The girls-" she pointed to the couch she was on, "will be in room 206." Then she pinted to the guys. "You three, room 207." She handed Angel two room keys for 207. Then she handed them one for 208. "Here's two keys for your room, and one for ours, if you need it," she paused. "We'll have two of ours, and one of yours. That way, if we need to talk, then we can talk." she got up. "Let's go," she started heading over to the elevator, followe behind by Angel and Glimmer. [Don't post anything yet, I'm not done.]

Ara, Drake, and Eric joined them. Eric couldn't help casting glances at Ace. She knew how to be a leader. It was pretty cool. The group he was with, intimidated him. He barely had any experience in the supernatural world. He just sat in his basement, practicing fire on a dummy, and eating sandwhiches. Everyone else in the elevator obviously didn't stay in one place for long and had been in many fights. He fidgeted. He didn't really know much about the other guys and they looked tough. Eric gulped. Ara thought that a little girl time could be good for her, Ace, and Glimmer. It would be just like a slumber party. She remembered those from her human days. They were different now but it could be fun. She internally smiled at the thought. They could gossip and talk about weapons and fighting and stuff...or boys. |

She gave the guys the cheeper apartment. We do want the best for our girls! xDD] "M'kay," Ace nodded at the boys. She turned around and unlocked the door, kicking it open. "We'll see you later," she called over her shoulder as she entered the room, dragging both Ara and Glimmer in with her. She slammed the door in the boys' faces, before turning back around, groaning, and doing a faceplant onto the nearest bed. "This one's mine," she grumbed into it, before sitting back up and reaching for her bacpack. Sighing with annoyance, she realized that she had never brought a backpack in the first place. Grumbling to herself, she stood up. "I'm gonna take a shower," she declared, making her way over to the bathroom. Almost an hour later, she came out, a towel wrapped around her body. "Shower's open, if anyone wants it," she declared to the hotel room. Glimmer shook her head. "I took a shower this morning," she reasoned. Ace shrugged, walking over to her bed. She had put her clothes there before. She pulled on her clothes, leaving her shorts off. Wh ywould she wear her dirty shorts to bed? She walked back to the bathroom and threw her towel on the bathroom tile, not caring whether she was being clean or not. She came out of the bathroom to find Glimmer and Ara dressed in a similar way. "Slumber party?" Glimmer suggested, earning a smile from Ace. ... "Man, this room sucks," said Angel. |

"Oh, yeah." Smiled Arachelle. Then she paused, "What the hell is a vampire, a dog, and a mermaid, supposed to do at a sleepover? I honestly havn't had one of these in a while." Ara sat on the bed. Then she got up and went to an absoluteley huge cabinet on the opposite wall. The doors opened to reveil a nice, flatscreen tv. Ara grabbed the remote and surfed through the channels until she found Mtv. It was playing, "Keep Me Hanging", the Glee version by Diane Agron. Drake plopped on the nearest bed, exhausted. Then he got up and went to some small cabinets in the mini-kitchen. He pulled out some chips and a coke. "This is going on Ace's tab." He smirked. Drake and Eric just sat there. None of the boys aknowledged eachother. Eric just sat there deep in thought. "What do you think the girls are doing right now?" He asked, turning to the other two guys. "I wonder what their room looks like?" He hoped their room was as equally horrible as theirs. If Ace had given the girls a better room... He shook his head, clearing his brain of threats. ... "Let's play kareoke!" Glimmer giggled, before grabbing a mike that she had found hooked up to the T.V. I call this song!" She declared, jumping up to stand on Ace's bed. She picked up the remote and rewinded to the beginning of the song. She clicked on the subtitles, before throwing the remote back onto her bed. The song started, and Glimmer started singing.
