Updates

July 9, 2009 - Follow us on Twitter!

Rescreatu Twitter!

We have finally decided to open our own twitter account. We will use this to announce many of the smaller updates that don't get a full fledged announcement. You won't miss anything important if you don't user twitter. Please visit our page and follow us.

Click here to visit the Rescreatu Twitter page.

For those of you who aren't happy with the Rescreatu twitter let me explain it for you. If you don't have a twitter account nothing will change. You don't need to make one if you don't want to. This will just be another way for you guys to interact with staff and the Rescreatu community. Twitter is more personal. You'll see lots of random things being posted on there like what I'm doing at any given time.

There is a reason I do everything. Twitter is big. We will be using it to network and promote the game. It is a good thing for us to have. Setting it up took almost no time at all. It should be another fun way for many of you to interact with us.

I looked into twitter. I'm not logging onto a site that asks for my e-mail password... then verifies it. Not for any reason. They shouldn't ask and they don't need to know.
AriaKaye1 - July 10, 2009
Odd Image "S" Hack??
Krillacreat - July 10, 2009
I feel like laughing! *points to middle eastern region* Isn't the country that's blocking Twitter Iran?
Breosaighit - July 10, 2009
Myspace was big. Myspace began to die. Facebook was big. It's beginning to die. Twitter is big. It will die. But I get what you're saying.
Yaizhbeen - July 10, 2009
Thanks for clearing it up, Pat :). It just wasn't really clear for me what kind of "updates" you meant in the first announcement. I do not think it is a bad idea, if it can attrack more people. Will check it out, although most probably won't stay there long (simply doesn't seem to be my style).
LadyTsunade - July 10, 2009
I have a question... do we get a warning maybe saying that there is a new update at Twitter? Or do we have to check daily to find out? o.O -Serious-
LadyTsunade - July 10, 2009
Ywitter? I'll check it out! :)
Jooshypnut - July 9, 2009
haha i was going to do the same thing for my site... hope it goes well for you Pat
Ikuto - July 9, 2009
Isn't it just awesome people complain about a service that they get to enjoy for FREE? Keep up the great work, Pat.
Gunmetal - July 9, 2009
"yay *tweets* i am on twitter as well and feel its nice to get updates on games i play. :)", I really like that even though I have no interest in Twitter, others can enjoy it. It's a good thing. Not a bad things. Pretend the update doesn't exist and move on. If you don't use Twitter it shouldn't even register as an update - let alone something to be upset over.
katsutos - July 9, 2009
yay *tweets* i am on twitter as well and feel its nice to get updates on games i play. :)
AriaKaye1 - July 9, 2009
The site is wonderful even with the glitches, which I am sure will be ironed out. I still recommend the site everyday..good god.
eenobegeeto - July 9, 2009
-_- Eesh Patrick, V2 is glitchy and training doesn't work...aren't you jumping the gun here?
McFlan - July 9, 2009
Many people did not like the Omni and Kioka eggs retiring but Pat had a reason to do so and did it anyway. Seriously, it's not that hard to just check out ONE page that's accessible to those without an account for an update. You don't even have to look at it. :/
TailsFan1 - July 9, 2009
What on earth?! Rescreatu will soon just be a chat! >:(
Oarfish - July 9, 2009
The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about Twitter is Miley Cyrus Dx. Anyway, I have nothing against it and I might just start lurking around Twitter from now on. *goes to reiflem* The cooking basin looks cool xd
Jzbelle - July 9, 2009
Good gawd, if you don't want to Tweet, don't. If Pat started posting updates about every tiny thing here and that little alert popped up every time he fixed a link, I *know* there'd be the same group kvetching about that too. You can't make everyone happy, and no one is "making" anyone create a Twitter account. What a bunch of bitter little pills. Personally, I'll check out Patrick's Tweets, and if I don't like them I won't read any more. It won't be the end of the world, and won't require a grumpy post. Imagine that. Just...don't do it if you don't want to. So painless, and less effort than it took to post yet *another* grouchy gripe-fest about NOTHING. Pfft.
karlz4 - July 9, 2009
lookwhy dont you make a bebo or something? for the older peps? more people go on that!
Patrick - July 9, 2009
Something tells me that people here don't want me posting updates on the game like "Bed time. Should have some updates for everyone tomorrow." Because that is the type of update put on Twitter.
Slayer - July 9, 2009
I think people understand using it to promote the game however i think a large majority of people dislike updates regarding the site being posted on there and not here regardless of how important they are. "There is a reason I do everything." This may be so. However, there is a reason 80% of the people commenting dislike this idea too.
Breeze - July 9, 2009
This is...weird...I don't know xD I've just never thought that I'd have to LEAVE Rescreatu to learn more about Rescreatu o_O'
Rainy - July 9, 2009
Great idea! Social networking is the way to go. I hope it brings more users! :D
Moe - July 9, 2009
Dudes, what made you think you need an account to view it? 8/ You don't need an account, wth?
Silverink - July 9, 2009
Have twitter, will follow. Gives me something to read between trying to earn TU.
Juniper - July 9, 2009
Okay I made an account on twitter yesterday and I'm confussed on it. xD.
Gunmetal - July 9, 2009
I will open by saying that I am not on Twitter and that I will likely not use the feature, just doesn't appeal to me personally. That's fine though - because this is exactly like when the Ardur was released. Everybody complained despite the fact that they were not at any loss. You might think it is better to see every single update here but some things are just too minor for that and it would be ridiculous. An alert for a new update just to find out a typo was fixed somewhere or a referral prize was changed would be absurd, don't you think? The same thing applies to a lot of the additions to Rescreatu which put nobody at a loss, such as the free credit offers. If you don't like Ardurs, don't hatch them. If you don't like the credit offers, don't do them. If you don't like Twitter, don't use it. There are people who are happy with all three of these things and will likely enjoy them very much - just because it isn't personally appealing to you, does not make it any less valid or give you good reason to object to it - you are at no loss. The game has not been damaged for you in any way. Simple as that. As far as priority of updates, some things take longer than others. I am sure if it were possible we would have updates for a battle system instead of Twitter - fact is some things are more work than others, some projects are just plain bigger and take more time. I should think this would be quite obvious. Let's try to be a little logical from time to time. If you want to make a criticism about something, go right ahead, make sure it's constructive. We've had plenty of user suggestions and complaints taken care off. We have an all pets module, MPs are gone, a name checker has been put into place, etc. This however, is really not an issue. Fair enough, no?
AriaKaye1 - July 9, 2009
Agreed Patrick! I'll reiterate what I just said "You can chose to have a Twitter account" You do not have to have one. It doesn't change how you play the game.I think I'll Twitter:) Kinda crappy that some of you may think Patrick can't have a life outside of Rescreatu. Patrick don't you dare go to the Beach or go camping, you need to get that Scria center fixed! LOL:)
BlueBunny - July 9, 2009
Wow you guys need to stop freaking out. He said it's just for LITTLE updates you don't even HAVE to know. ;) And I bet you a lot of people use Twitter (even I do) on Res... you never know. If you don't like this idea, then don't use it.
Patrick - July 9, 2009
You guys seem to think taking 30 spare minutes to set up a twitter account prevented me from working on any other updates. I can assure you, it has not.

Seriously guys, if you don't use twitter and don't like it you won't be affected at all by this. If your a fan of twitter, then this is one extra way to stay in touch with the Rescreatu community.
Maybell - July 9, 2009
Some of the younger users aren't allowed on Twitter, and I don't see why you're making us go to another site to see updates for this one. Seriously, Patrick. You could be working on fixing broken locations, or coding the new location in Atquati, but instead, you're perfecting your Twitter account and coding unnecessary new pets.
McFlan - July 9, 2009
It's not really that hard to just go check up a site, guys. You don't even have to sign in to see announcements. o_O Twitter's been pretty popular and well-known for a while now anyway, so I'm not surprised we're doing this.
Jackins - July 9, 2009
Where are the actual update fixes for things like the Hospital in Scria? I'm going to hazard a guess that not even 90% of the population on Rescreatu follows Twitter, or even knows what it is. There's no reason for updates to be made off-site, and frankly, with relevant fixes falling to the wayside, why bother discussing it at all. If you really wanted to make a worthwhile change to small announcements and such you could simply have them show up in Alerts instead of telling people to go off to another site that requires a registration and other various pointlessness.
ColdCaptivated - July 9, 2009
I wonder if the fact that people don't like this, is actually going to make a difference? O_O
prinxess - July 9, 2009
This idea is a big mistake, honestly.
Undertaker - July 9, 2009
Eh.
Samolas - July 9, 2009
Sweet, I already Tweet..its no big deal people..just a way to get a heads up on what Pat is working on for the day..chill!
StarletPhoenix - July 9, 2009
I agree woth geo and others about any kind of updates being made elsewhere on the web besides on the actual site they pertain to. this "update" to me seems like epic fail to be perfectly honest, and I'll not be joining that annoying twitter site. a better idea would have been to just group a number of updates together into 1 announcement.
zebez - July 9, 2009
I'd rather those updates be on Rescreatu
AriaKaye1 - July 9, 2009
I guess you can chose to follow it or not guys. I am sure ALL Res updates will be posted here, rest assured. I think this is a choice for people who would like to "Twitter". Not sure if I will do, but it's my choice. Don't do it if you don't want to.
Rose - July 9, 2009
-.- Its pointless if im honest, barely anyone uses twitter.
Geonightrose - July 9, 2009
I don't like the idea of using an outside source to find out things about a game I play. I've not heard of Twitter until recently. I'm not interested in making an account there. My kids definitely won't be. Good luck with that. With no progress having been made recently, I'm starting to look around for other things. ::pokes at training::
eenobegeeto - July 9, 2009
Er...yah. I think you should have just made a new forum for this because I don't have a twitter account and it's rather unfair to expect me to make one when I already have an account here. Res should stay accessable through Res. Seriously, what sort of financial deal did you make with twitter? This is Bogus.
Undertaker - July 9, 2009
Ehh.
dragon231mm - July 9, 2009
I don't have Twitter...
Slayer - July 9, 2009
Yes. I just don't think it makes sense. Why post Res-news on Twitter when you can post it on the ACTUAL website Rescreatu.com. Doesn't make sense. Res lacks updates so just post the minor ones here.
1ran - July 9, 2009
*follows*
Lilith - July 9, 2009
I don't get it either, and I agree, these smaller updates will most likely get missed. Not a fan of twittering at all, not likely I am going to go check the page to see what's up. I like the updates being here.
Slayer - July 9, 2009
Why not just make the smaller announcements here? Would make a lot of users stay knowing they have regular updates?
Yaizhbeen - July 9, 2009
I have never heard of Twitter before, now I looked at it, will check back later (if I don't forget). I do not understand why is a different site necessary to post any updates. I will totally forget to look at it, if there is no alert to warn.
cheng - July 9, 2009
twitter? :0 wut's that?
Juniper - July 9, 2009
twitter? What the heck is that? xD
April - July 9, 2009
I'm not too keen on linking to something I've never heard of.
luvin0it - July 9, 2009
i don't use twitter...
Riyo - July 9, 2009
... Why not make the announcements here as well? ;/ Some people don't use twitter.
Theyellowflash - July 9, 2009
totally following |D
Vanessa - July 9, 2009
