wow these contest winner entries are amazing! and ooh more super rare auras! lol. as for traditions...my nana is coming to my house and we're all going to make the food together. we have really traditional stuff: turkey with gravy and cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, some kind of vegetable (it varies), apple and pumpkin pie.

Getting our family together and sitting around the table eating. Honestly, Thanksgiving is really the only time we sit around the table as a family. We don't even do it for Christmas. Just wake up, open the presents, and go about our day. So Thanksgiving is the main holiday I look forward to just because it gets the family together one day out of the year.

i make Slovenian Nut Bread with my mom and rum balls for Thanksgiving. That's fun. But honestly... my favorite thing is to spend it with my dad. He has no money and the rest family lives out of state, so when we get together its just us and whatever we can afford to put together. Its easy to remember what Thanksgiving is about when you are truly grateful for the little that you have ^_^ I wouldn't trade that for anything.

We don't have many Thanksgiving traditions, but I used to always make pumpkin pie with my Pawpaw. Now that he has passed away, I still find comfort in baking pies every year, it makes me feel closer to him again ♥

My thanksgiving traditions with my family are to have a giant tournament of pumpkin checkers ( Which grandmas and aunts have so nicely painted with faces ), Loser gets a pumpkin pie in the face ( unless the winner and only the winner is nice and takes it for them ) and the winner gets to pick what foods we have next year, as well as the comfy seat! It's superrr fun! (I have yet to win, but I've lost like 4 or five times.. But since like 2 of those times I was six, the winner took it for me.. and I forgot who took it for me XD )

As I live in NZ we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the traditional sense, however every year, my work 'family' choose this time to preform random acts of kindness within our community. This includes things such as grocery delivery for a struggling family, a day at the spa for a single Mum and/or an impromptu music performance at a retirement home :)

i was excited when i found the statues of the headless horsemen and his horse when i was with my uncle in the east hamptons for a job of his. i was there because i wanted to ride the ferry which i had never done before. first time on the ocean and first time on a boat. i thought the statues were amazing. i couldn't resist taking a photo. i am glad that i did and had this opportunity to share it

My favorite tradition for Thanksgiving: EVERY year, my mother's side of the family gathers at my aunt's house, greeted by a table long enough to seat us all (and some cousins STILL have to sit on the couch) that runs from open-end of the house to Tue living room. We sit around the table and talk, then my uncle calls everyone to attention in a deep booming voice, calling the meal to order. He starts us in a prayer and as it travels around the table we all add in what we are thankful for (usually food) and dig in. It's such a celebration!
Afterwards we clean up and clear the table. My dad falls asleep on the couch (it's not a family even unless he does) and we draw names from a hat for our family secret Santa....cause Christmas isn't that far off!

My favourite Thanksgiving traditions are starting to pull out the Charlie Brown Episodes and movies again, reminding ourselves of their creativity, and also the arts and crafts of that season, handprints for tail feathers, googly eyes everywhere, it brings back the fun and silliness of youth.
