Kenzedie - April 23, 2016
In grade school, every year we planted trees to help. And where I live, compost bins are a requirement :)
LoveDroid - April 23, 2016
Woot, I've been recycling ungodly amounts of plastic, and switching to primarily organic foods!
BattleGamingQueen - April 23, 2016
Coffee grounds and eggshells for the plants, finding project uses for old shipping boxes instead of throwing them out, and getting water from the sink instead of buying thousands of water bottles over time.
Bunny - April 23, 2016
Whenever i see a bee in need i'll rescue it! And if i have some kinda sweet juice with me i'll give it some for energy :3

Epona - April 23, 2016
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Also I've planted many plants for food and flowers for bees
Fernweh - April 23, 2016
In the past, I've recycled. I even worked with my high school's Environmental Science class (in 2011-2012) to implement a recycling program within the school. I plan on TRYING to start a type of recycling program here at the apartment complex that I stay in, if the management team would allow it.
Setzer - April 23, 2016
Every year on Earth Day, my school district takes about an hour and a half out of class time to go clean up the litter in our area. This year I even found a discarded Walkman CD player o-o My family has also started using our green bin, which is for decomposable things like food waste and used paper towels. That gets collected, made into compost and used as fertilizer for our city gardens, and helps us produce only one bag of garbage every two weeks instead of two, like we used to. We also throw everything we can into the recycling as well. I plan to continue these practices when I leave the house to go to college, as they're not only beneficial for the environment but also for our budget! :D
Ganymede - April 23, 2016
I'm planning on planting a summer garden on my apartment patio! See if I can bring back some green to my space. :)
Emersa - April 23, 2016
We have a chicken powered greenhouse that I'm growing trees in. We're selling llama compost faster than the boys can poop! We've put put birdseed since the birds started to come back so the little buggers can eat something.
Ceiyru - April 23, 2016
My husband and I have started our vegetable garden this year plus have been planting new flower seeds for the bees and birds. We will also be adding fruit trees this year. Everything will be grown naturally, only friendly bugs and no pesticides used.
CheeseLiker - April 23, 2016
We have a compost pile and are sure to recycle everything possible, and we use energy efficient light bulbs.
Mmamushi - April 23, 2016
Assisting my mother with her plant sale.
Emmique1 - April 23, 2016
Happy earth day :)
Kikenie - April 23, 2016
We are avid recyclers in our household, use reusable shopping bags, compost, stopped using/purchasing disposable bottled water, and use only natural and honeybee safe pesticides/fungicides in the garden when needed (must help to save the honeybees!).
We also volunteer for roadside/beach clean-ups.
Every fall we get maple tree seedpods (nature's helicopters lol), and sometimes other tree seeds, that find there way into our yard. I like to plant them and when the saplings are big enough I take them to different locations and replant them. Last summer two cedar tree saplings sprouted up in our yard so once big enough we'll be replanting them also. :)
shellyg - April 23, 2016
Every earth day we buy a few trees and plant them in our yard. by the next year's earth day, the trees are big and grown.
Elentari - April 23, 2016
We are recycling enthusiasts in my household. We also love planting growing things and when they go to seed in the fall and winter our yard is full birds that come to eat them. It is very satisfying to watch them.
WinterRoseStorm - April 23, 2016
I plant new plants as much as I can, I have a special wildlife pond and I recycle as much as possible by making new things out of it :) HAPPY EARTH DAY!
Flaws - April 23, 2016
I am starting up baskets and flowerbeds in my garden, to help the planet and save animals.

KelyasaDragon - April 23, 2016
At my camp where I was a counselor and a camper, the eldest group spent their free periods doing projects; In my 'senior' year as a camper, we planted trees in the abandoned lot by the camp and cleared the camp up of trash and cleaned up the small swimming lake, even. (That was fun. We found a lot of spoons, and three different shoes.)
Mars - April 23, 2016
I've cut my shower time in half since moving into this apartment! Also, in an avid recycler now, I always collect my and my friends' old bottles and take them to the glass deposit.
Link - April 23, 2016
I drive a fuel efficient car, and not a truck. No big deal but I'm kind of a big deal. Like a more environmentally friendly and much more badass Batman
Icalasari - April 23, 2016
Going to try switching over to LED bulbs :D
Veram - April 23, 2016
I just spent day at the park with my family, nothing special but hey we were out of the house. vuv
BlueDove - April 23, 2016

I have been an officer of a huge umbrella organization of all science clubs in my country. Our organization's mission is the Public Understanding of Science, Technology, and the Environment (PUSTE) which we aimed to do by doing summer camps and quiz bees for the youth.
Tobias - April 22, 2016
I am a Cub Scout pack leader (my leader name is Sona, the sun bear) and my cub pack regularly gives back to the environment by organizing rubbish pick ups and things like that.
WynterWolf - April 22, 2016
I helped to organize the recycling processes at both of my jobs, as well as encouraging the recycling in my building. I've done clean up on beaches to get rid of general trash that can cause harm to ocean critters, and continue to do so when I go. During any hikes I take, I will always carry a bag to get rid of any recycleable trash people forget or ignore.
DecemberMoon - April 22, 2016
My career path (ecology) pretty much centers around studying habitats/interactions between species, and ensuring that suitable habitat for wild critters remains available is a valid (and my preferred) job option.
I also spent the past summer at a bird rehabilitation center (~70% of my time there was spent scrubbing poo off things, but that was what was needed).
Lake - April 22, 2016
There were several large fires my junior and senior year of highschool down here in Texas. They weren't ordinary house fires or seasonal forest burnings, definitely not. A huge firestorm hit the area and burned about 70,000 acres worth of territory in Bastrop, Texas, destroying over 1,600 homes and killing a lot of people, some of which I knew personally. Bastrop is a super forested community but even months later, the fires were so bad that there wasn't seeing any new growth. My school and my class took it upon ourselves to help. For three days, we drove up there, not only cleaning up the wreckage of several of the houses burned but removing some of the more burned areas of the forest by chopping down trees and replanting new ones that would help restart the process. We probably cleared out twenty or so houses worth of debris between all of us and planted a thousand plus new trees. We also took trucks and threw seeds through the more open areas of the forest that had been burnt down, knowing that it would help the growth process as well.
GG - April 22, 2016
Mother earth is our ever growing garden and it is up to us to keep her fruitful.
I recycle, and have a green energy home.
I also grow and up keep a really large garden with my grandpa. We have 4 plum, 1 peach, 1 apple and 1 pear trees in our front and back yard. I also work in our local community garden, where we have several things planted and are starting a compost pile.
Every year, I make a point to plant a new tree somewhere in our local forest area as a way to give back to our plant that is in desperate need of the help. The book, The giving tree comes to mind with this. We keep taking and taking but not really giving anything back.
Star - April 22, 2016
I helped my mom plant 2 trees in her front and back yard today.
She is now the only person on her block who has trees in their yard. =3
XAllurcore - April 22, 2016
When I was younger I planted two pine tree's a year apart. They are now 8 to 11 feet tall, I'm not sure. But they were a single pink looking branch that was the size of a standard ruler, lol. I've also done a few long road pick ups.
Merlin77 - April 22, 2016
I have lived as a Boy Scout and done highway clean-up projects maintaining the center area and sides of the road by removing all trash rubbish. I have cleaned streams as a scout and a scout leader to assist young scouts on their Eagle projects. As an Adult I joined a firm as a head of US operations that is completely green in their offering so that I knew as an an adult I was giving back and paying forward.
BarrelGirl95 - April 22, 2016
I always pick up litter, and I do a ton of gardening. I plant new trees in place of old ones that have been cut down or that are dead. We have tons of fruit trees for the birds and animals, and use all natural fertilizer so as not to poison the plants or animals!
starbrightwolf - April 22, 2016
I pick up litter that I see sometimes
InfernoFire - April 22, 2016
I don't drive and not going to learn how to drive. Instead I wanna learn to take the public transport so there is not as many cars on the road.
Alfa2433 - April 22, 2016
I've planted some trees with my mother in our backyard. We have a total of seven that bear fruits like pears, cherries, peaches, and apples. It was a perfect day to plant them, too.
piemaster - April 22, 2016
I plan to not have kids. Statistically this has the largest impact on saving emissions compared with public transport or green energy. Who knew being lazy and opting out of doing something could be so helpful?
Pegasus - April 22, 2016
Buying local produce that reduces fuel due to transportation, going to switch to cng gas instead of petrol, planting trees and making sure those around me don't litter :3 recycling plastic and glass
Inari - April 22, 2016
Im composting everything I can and care for all the plants and animals I can. Besides using my car as little as possible, even if it means to walk 1.5 hours one way to the next village to buy some lunch ;D
my major at university is biology too, so I pretty much dedicated all my life towards nature/the earth~
Jess - April 22, 2016
I help by picking up trash people place on the ground.
Snow - April 22, 2016
Wow this is a really nice idea and it's amazing to see how much everyone is helping protect our home planet! <3 My family does the little things like using reusable shopping bags and recycling all our plastic, metal and paper. I've been considering studies in conservation and would love to have a future helping protect endangered wildlife in some way. ^.^

Bowie - April 22, 2016
I was just outside for a while planting tree with my family and my best friend :) We have a few left to do, but we planted Red Oaks for now (10 of them), planted pine trees, and then we have some that I forgot what they were to plant :D
Pumpkin00 - April 22, 2016
When I pack items at the store into bags, I fill the bag up and use as little bag as possible. This saves plastic. We have a bird feeder that we refill several times a day. We have a garden of spiders, tulips, rose bushes and stargazers. When the grass is looking brown, we water it. About 10 years ago my sister came home with a pine cone tree and we planted it in our backyard. When we got it, it was barely half my height(3.5 ft) and now it is over six feet tall. Last Summer, we found out that our oak tree was diseased. So we had to chop it down. But we replaced it with a new tree the is over 10 feet tall. When I grow up and buy a lawn mower, it will be momentum powered. This will save gasoline and have a little less greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere.
O.S.- It said for the raffle you can win a planet sword of your choice. I want the Scia Sword.

I'm part of a research has group at my university working towards replacing all the pesticides in the city with something currently called the Plant Health Care Model! We're testing untreated soil plots and plots treated with the PHCM to show the city how much better we can be treating our world! :)
I'm also an active member of an outdoor education group and we recently planted four new bushes and two trees in front of the high school I went to.
I also recycle!
I love reading everybody's stories here, it makes me happy that all these people are contributing to the bettering of our only home. uwu
Eclipticca - April 22, 2016
For the last 2 years between August and October I go out and collect Monarch Caterpillars, and any eggs. I bring them home to raise/feed until they go through the stages and become full grown butterflies. I have released 30 butterflies into the wild, with majority being female. My contribution ensures at least a small handful of Monarchs survive to adulthood and have a chance of breeding to continue the migration. I'll be doing this every single year for the rest of my life because it's the right thing to do.
LlamaLou2 - April 22, 2016
My choir and I are going to be planting trees in our school courtyard.
eenobegeeto - April 22, 2016
I give back to the earth by recycling/repurposing and composting. When I ride my bike to the beach I pick up garbage and occasionally have cut fishing lines and plastics from birds. I also cut the plastic six pack rings and anything that can get caught around an animal. And I never throw garbage in the streets, parks or beaches.
Geonightrose - April 22, 2016
I have a garden with native plants like spiderwort as well as more decorative plants like stargazer lillies. I plant two to three rose bushes each year, and when we mow the lawn, we leave the grass cuttings down as fertilizer. We don't use poison on weeds, instead I use a mixture of dish soap and vinegar to kill weeds in the driveway or back deck, and weeds that grow in the lawn are left there because they make the green lawn look fabulously colorful with yellow, blues and purples.
We had to cut down a dying tree a few years ago and had the stump ground out to plant a new one. We've also planted new trees in our back yard.
I also have select areas where milkweed is allowed to grow so monarch butterflies continue to return. Every year we go to the state parks as well to explore and enjoy nature.
And I talk to trees to let them know how lovely they are, how wonderful they are for providing shade, and how much I appreciate them keeping my air clean and plentiful. That might sound strange, but you never know!
Undertaker - April 22, 2016
I would volunteer after school to help plant flowers for earth day :D
Masked - April 22, 2016
I never throw away things like old clothes or cookware, I give them to charitable thrift stores like Goodwill or the SPCA rummage stores. I also prefer to walk or bike than to drive anywhere less than a couple miles away and I lower my energy consumption (and bill!) by wearing warm clothes indoors in the winter rather than turning the heat up.
Taka - April 22, 2016
I always recycle and my family has a small garden that we all take care of. (:

I recycle everything and am starting my own herb and veggie garden! Also feed the birds x3 a week!
Albion - April 22, 2016
I used to help out on kids groups with nature walks because I had a science background but after I moved here I took on butterfly recording walking up to five hours a day for a week to find sites that were new on Dartmoor or around Devon ~ but nothing compares to taking out some kids for a local council and one little girl giving me a hug for showing her pond fishes ~ she so loved nature walks ~ two days later the family car had an issue and she and her little brother were lost ~ so always do stuff when you can no matter what you can.
AvisPraeclara - April 22, 2016
I try to recycle when I can and pick up trash when I see it. :) I am also growing a couple rose bushes this spring!
Xpeachydog - April 22, 2016
We recently got a greenhouse and are waiting to get some bees.
bahearts - April 22, 2016
Once during spring and summer kids hubby and I go around city and pick up garbage for about 4 hrs then plant some trees. We also reuse containers and jars. Make crafts out of bottles and milk jugs.
Excelscia - April 22, 2016
I help recycle and reduce my use of water and electricity.
I also like to purcase organic products.
Heterochromia - April 22, 2016
Once when we were on vacation, we went to the beach and picked up trash on the shore while looking for some shells. (We go to mexico almost everyother year) Almost every time we go we release baby turtles at night, since the hotels take the eggs and keep them to hatch for releasing them later. I also try and recycle everything I can. (Look up how long it takes for glass to decompose)
PebblePuff - April 22, 2016
Every year, our school goes out to a field (a tradition for 15+ years) for the Earth Day, and we plant a fruit tree. We usually take a poll on what type of tree will be planted.

Thank you! I make sure my showers are 5 minutes and with the water that is not used while the shower is turned on I make sure I have a bucket that fills up with it so I can then use that to water my lawn instead of turning on the sprinklers! I also use reusable bags! I also recycle everything I can.
Eiji - April 22, 2016
THIS IS SO LOVELY BLESS YOU. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm obsessed with the ocean and everything in it. I do my best to live in a way that is mindful of our little finny friends, and I try to support as many ocean and ocean life conservationists as I can. It might not be much, but we're a powerful voice together and we're doing our best to help animals like captive cetaceans. ;u; When I'm actually at the beach, I pick up as much garbage as I can find. I plan to start recycling much more aggressively!
Gozaimasu - April 22, 2016
I use Eco-friendly appliances, am careful about water usage, and walk to work. :)
Pastelle - April 22, 2016
In high school in my exam in the course technology, my group ans I made what we called the "Green Cup". It was made of newspapers we made to paper mache and shaped cups of which we air-dried. at the bottom we put small seed capsules, and on the inside we hold with beeswax. The idea was that when people threw example Mc.D. cups out the window at the high way, the cup would degrade itself and eventually disappear altogether and the seed capsules would flourish with new life. we got A + and came on to the country's championship for technology and inovation for young people, and got a top 10 nationally. (Denmark 2014). Junk food wrappings turned two flowers.
Elley - April 22, 2016
Nice, lots of recyclers here! I volunteer for a garden guild. We grow vegetables organically and give them to local charities. I try to grow local and bee-friendly plants in my yard.
Kelpie - April 22, 2016
I rescued a pigeon I found at the beach that was hurt. I took it home and nursed it back to heath. It is now very beautiful and has a mate that I bout for it. It also turned out to be a very rare domesticated breed. I am now breeding them sucsessfuly to help grow their breed. They live in a big, spacious aviary in my backyard.
I also have gone and served at my local comunity gardens with my church and gone with multiple groups to help clean the beaches.
For a non-profit school project, I also decided to sell my photography to rase money for my local non-kill shelters and horse rescues.
My sister also reminded me to mention that we have an acer of organic fruit trees and help grow milkweed to help the monarch butterfly population.
I love this earth and I hate to see people destorying it. I am going to continue to do all I can to help out our enviroment.
omnoms - April 22, 2016
Making a tree swing for my lil sisters on the other day, noticed a small tree sapling that had no chances surviving in such a crowded area it was growing in ;o; so I re-planted it onto our spacey grassy yard. Hope it grows to be a large home guardian one day!
layamaria - April 22, 2016
I recycle plastics and cans, and try to use biodegradable/eco-friendly materials instead of plastics as much as possible. Also we now have separate trash bins in our house for different types of trash. When I'm out of the house I keep whatever trash I have until I find a trash can, or because a lot of times it is hard to find a trash can, I keep it to throw in our trash bins when I get home. We also replaced our old lights in our house with LED bulbs. And about 1/4 of the (small) lot our house stands on is garden, because it keeps the air fresh and cooler naturally and is home to birds (there are at least four bird species living in our garden trees), insects and small animals, including the neighborhood tokay gecko who comes around regularly.
Silverstream94 - April 22, 2016
I always recycle everything I can and go out of my way to recycle glass. There isn't a glass pick up in my area, so I collect it over a period of time and will drive it to a glass recycling dumpster myself. I turn off all unnecessary lights to conserve power, and my family and I are getting solar panels installed on our roof.
In the future, I plan to rescue and train animals to be what is called 'Ambassador animals' basically educational animals who are unable to be returned to the wild because of one reason or another. They are used to teach and educate young children about them and their habitat so that they are more eco-aware.
Blackgothfox - April 22, 2016

What a cute idea! Well, I use to volunteer a lot at the elementary school garden in town. It's a really cute program, they have this HUGE garden (actually, several small ones) where they teach kids to grow stuff! and they'll sell the flowers and organic fruits and vegetables to the community! It's really sweet. And there were a lot of bees and bunnies and birds! It was nice.

Recycling everything possible in my house is very important. It is amazing how the amount of garbage goes down if you pay attention to all things inside and out that can be recycled. I am making sure that I am doing my part to help keep our planet healthy. If it doesn't survive, neither do we!
Oz - April 22, 2016
We keep part of our garden wild for the creatures that like living in it. In the summer there are so many butterflies, and the bluebells in the autumn are brilliant. In the future, I hope to be able to plant trees in and around the place I live in order to make it less grey.
JoDe - April 22, 2016
When my family and I lived in Colorado, there was an area of mountains close to us referred to as "The Scar". It was an utterly barren part of a mountain that had been hit with a NASTY fire. My older sister and I were a few of the volunteers who rode up to The Scar and planted a bunch of tiny little trees EVERYWHERE. I really loved going back to CO a while back and seeing that The Scar had been filled in with green. :)
