Updates

November 7, 2011 - Food Pen
We have recently added a new log feature to the Food Pen. This log allows you to see what your creatu have been eating each night from the Food Pen. This feature will also allow us to more closely examine any bug complaints about the Food Pen.

We have been receiving some complaints about the Food Pen working incorrectly. During the investigation of these complaints we have found that the majority (if not all) of claims that the food pen did not work were incorrect.

To help everyone understand how the Food Pen is intended to work we have updated the Food Pen page with the exact rules of how it works. You may also read them below.

Food Pen Rules:
- Only feeds creatu located on your profile
- Will only feed creatu who have a hunger of less 70 out of 100 points.
- Automatically feeds each creatu a random item from food pen until that creatu had reached the required 70/100 hunger points, or you have ran out of food.

If you feel the need to report a problem with the Food Pen in the future, please make sure that the above rules were all met. Also please check your Food Pen log before reporting a problem.

There is indeed a glitch with pets dying that shouldn't, if the pet has the release date of V2 as its birthdate (May 27, 2009). If you have lost a pet to the dying glitch and that is its birthdate, open a support ticket and I will do what I can to help you get the name back. I cannot guarantee that you will get it back, because I have to prove that you owned it and it did not die of hunger, and that you did not sell, trade, or give it away - but I will do my best.

I always have my Food Pen pretty stocked.... but some of my pets died anyways. I think there is (or was) a glitch when it would only feed certain pets and not the others. But I find it rather unfair that our pets died because of a glitch. Sorry if this seems rude but thats my opinion. :l

Awesome - thanks! :)

In all the time I've been here I've never let my pets get to the hungry stage so of course I didn't think the food pen was working properly. I was told not to feed one of my pets and, lo and behold, for the very first time my food pen works. Thank you for the explanation.

By the way I love the new Food Pen Log^^. It says my Omni ate a Lemon Doughnut *imagines him munching on it* So cute!^^

I think it makes sense the way as it is now. It takes into consideration the hunger points each food gives. If all food fills a pet 25 points the Food Pen will empty out slower. If you fill it with food that is worth only 4 points it will empty out faster. In the old version even if the pet's hunger only dropped 10 points a day, it would eat a 30 points worth pizza to gain that back, that's 20 points waste every day. The same pizza would fill up 3 days' hunger now. I like it^^.

Because a pet must be under 70 hunger to even be hungry in the first place.
VivienneLilith - November 7, 2011
Why doesn't it just feed them when they get below a hundred? Sorry to seem ignorant, but I don't really see the reason for installing it like that. Thanks for explaining anyhow. I was wondering why it didn't feed my pets!

Thanks for that clarification on the Under 70 rule. It seems my pets get fed when they hit about 50 hunger points. As long as my pets are fed at somepoint before they die I'm happy.
Graveyardfox - November 7, 2011
Thanks for clearing that up. I wasn't aware of the Under 70 rule either. So by automatically it means as soon as a Creatu comes onto your profile (either by pulling it out of your showroom, purchasing, gifted, etc.) it will be fed?
Nomadic - November 7, 2011
Oh jeeze. I hadn't been using the Food Pen because I'd heard it was bugged, so I've been manually feeding each night. Now I know I don't need to fuss so much. xD Thank you!
Jzbelle - November 7, 2011
This REALLY explains a lot for me. I didn't think that mine was working since it wasn't feeding my pets. But my pets were never below 70/100 hunger points, so of course it didn't. :D Will monitor it going forward, but I'll bet it's working just fine. Thank you!
Pegasus - November 7, 2011
Thank you! I think most users were not aware of the 70 hunger rule. I know I didn't.
Fenghuang - November 7, 2011
Thanks. This seems a lot different than how V.2 worked.
