I believe this isn't as much of a "money-grubbing" tactic as it is for a compromise to the users who want these eggs back and Patrick's efforts to maintain their rarity. Very few users will willingly offer up $50 to buy credits for these eggs, which will maintain the rarity of the eggs somewhat and will make some users happy that they have the chance to get their long-beloved creatu while in the process, help fuel the website to keep it up and running. You can always buy the eggs from those users who bought them with real money. This isn't the only way to get them.

I think that as long as the eggs don't drop majorly, I don't think those who have eggs should be worried about sale prices.
This is good for those of us who haven't been here forever and didn't get to buy the Kioka/Liyure/Omni eggs when they were available, too.

Mendini: I've been buying eggs before this announcement for 80-120M each, and those prices have not changed one bit after the announcement. I actually paid 10M MORE for a retired egg after the update than I did two weeks prior. =)

There is no time set in stone that this will end - it depends on the amount sold, and any effects of bringing values down on the market. The deal will be pulled if there is a negative effect shown. =)

I don't think have this offer permanently would flood the market... tons of /retired/CS creatu are -- inevitable -- going to die and be lost on inactive/banned accounts.
tl;dr I can't buy my own credits yet, and I don't want this amazing offer to disappear.

This will be a limited-time offer, and staff will be keeping an eye on the market to caution against the values of these pets and pet eggs dropping significantly. Also, it doesn't matter which country you are in - Canadians can buy credits with Paypal, money order, or check as well as anyone. You don't need a paypal account to order them, either - if you need more info, check out the Support forum for the stickied post "How to Purchase Credits". =)

I think this is great, it gives newer users a chance that they didn't have before!
I do think that it would upset some users who bought the eggs for 150 Mil+ or so because they thought there would never be any more, but if the community agreed, then perhaps it isn't that many.
I am very ecstatic about this because it is giving me a much higher chance of obtaining my dream pet <3!
I am curious if this is a limited time offer or not.

Sounds fair to me. They were retired, and now they are very hard to get. 30$ for just a 50% chance of getting one, and it might not even be the one you want. 50$ and you get one, but it still might not be the one you want. 100$ and you get all three. Sounds like a great way to bring back them, while still keeping them rare, and supporting the site.

I was thinking that those who would buys lots of credits now using real money to get the eggs would sell the credits they bought that they didn't want to use or ran out of things to spend it on. So with more credits on the market I was thinking that for the sake of quick sales some might sell credits for less, is all.

I also want to know if it is only for real money credits or if the tu bought ones work as well, I know it makes more sense if it's just the money bought creds but I have to make sure.
Even if it isn't, at least I'll be able to buy Omni eggs eventually :3 plus credits will become alot cheaper just cause of this! So yay either way.
