Zane glance at Lekke and Toda, both of whom were now having trouble with that bush, and the trainers who were simply watching them and waiting for them to come running over with their tails between their legs. " Yeah. Before they realize we aren't going to stay. " The Scyther swung at Zane, and he dodged out of the way before streaking off into the underbrush. His trainer's face turned from irritated to shocked the moment he vanished.
Lekke it and clawed at the bush and was slowly making her way out. Luckily the Scyther didn't remember she was over here so she was free to escape the tangle at her leisure. Toda sliced the bush as best as he could, but branches kept falling down on him that he had to slice and it was starting to be too much for him to handle. With one last lunge at the bushes thorny branches, Lekke tore herself free, dragging Toda out with her. She shook the leaves and dirt off of herself and looked up just in time to see Zane disappearing into the underbrush. Her lips curled into a snarl as she roared, " Traitor! "
The Scyther suffered from a moment of confusion as its opponent sped off into the woods. He had been certain that pokemon belonged to one of the humans here... Whatever. There were still the others just sitting around waiting to be eaten. He had never seen any pokemon like these and he was determined to at least taste one of them.

Shadow hesitated,looking at her surroundings before darting after Zane. "Wait up!",she called before she went through the under brush and caught up to him,stopping to catch her breath she watched behind her.

Zane swung his body skillfully through the underbrush. His small body and sleek fur made it easy for him to dart under the bushes, and he was careful to keep his tail flames low so he wouldn't start any fires. Where he usually had roaring flames now sat something that looked like a mixture of fur and coal, occasionally spitting out tiny flakes of ember that cooled before they could touch anything. In his haste Zane didn't really have time to check on Shadow. He just hoped she would be able to keep close enough to keep sight of him, or at least be able to track his smell.
Lekke was completely oblivious to the Scyther now and went racing after the two traitorous splices. In these thick plants she didn't bother trying to stay dignified and on her hind feet. If running on all fours meant she was more likely to catch them, then that was what she would do. But her wounds from the thorny bush earlier were still stinging, and with every twig that caught on them, the slivers grew larger and more painful.
Toda hopped behind Lekke but stopped, know he could never keep up with her in a situation like this. He stared despairingly into the underbrush, before remembering that the escaping splices weren't his main problem right now. The Scyther's claw swung down at him, clashing against the metallic feathers of his wigs with a loud screech. Though now damage was done to him, Toda was still very startled and hopped away. He swung around, staring up hopelessly at the terrifying enemy he now had to face alone.

Once she saw Lekke burst from the underbrush Shadow darted off after Zane,his body only slightly visible ahead of her.

Zane ran until his legs became so sore and unhappy that he was forced to stop. He slowed down and collapsed under a bush near a small creek. He knew he had to keep going to he wouldn't be found, but he knew he didn't have the strength to go any further. If only he was strong enough to keep going... The practically unconscious splice breathed heavily, barely managing to stay awake, when suddenly his body start to glow. In a quick flash of light, Zane got several inches larger, and the soft curls on his head turned into flames, which were quickly toned own to embers. A new burst of energy passed through him and Zane got back on his feet which were now blue instead of brown. He twisted his head around, looking at his body with wonder. It looked like splices could evolve after all.
Lekke tried her best to keep up with the escapees, but as they vanished it became painfully obvious how pitiful her attempts were. She gave up and turned around, now having to fight her way back through the bushes she had just come through.
Thinking fast, Toda turned around and started kicking dirt into the Scyther's face. It's irritated growl told him he managed to get at least some of the dirt into the Scyther's eyes. Now that it couldn't see as well he might have a chance of defeating it. Toda kicked out his legs and rammed his head into the Scyther's stomach, scratching it with his wings while he was close to it.

(Alright,when do you think she will evolve?)
Shadow soon felt like she had lost Lekke in the plants behind her and reached a small creek. Zane was clearly here,but he seemed to be hidden,so Shadow called out,"Zane! Zane! Are you here? I think I lost 'er!" She then began to walk along the creek's edge,called his name over and over as she looked around. 'Is he gone? Am I going to be alone in this strange new world now?' She worried these thoughts were reality and her calls became frantic and she looked around,her pace quickening.

((Okay. My hand is mostly better now so I can type normally again.)) Zane was brought out of his little reverie by Shadow's calls. He started to head towards Shadow's voice but he found that it was much harder to much through these bushes than it had been a second ago. He must have gotten bigger, which definitely pleased him even though it was inconvenient right now. He hated being small. It made the other splices think they were better than him. However his joy at his new height wasn't enough to keep him happy when he was getting more and more tangled in the bush, and when his patience finally ran out he fired up his flames and burnt the bush out of the way. Luckily it had rained recently so the other plants didn't catch fire when Zane freed himself.
The Scyther kicked Toda back with an irritated screech before swinging at him with its blades. Toda turned and caught the deadly arm with his wings, the two making a the distinctive scream of metal cutting against metal, but while this saved him from this attack it provided Toda with a new problem. If he moved, he would get hurt, and if he stayed still the Scyther could try to attack him some other way. He desperately hoped for Lekke to come back. He didn't even care about the runaways anymore, he had his own life to worry about.
Lekke shoved her way through the bushes, more irritated than anything else until she her the almost painful sounds of the battle ahead. She tried to get through the bushes faster, but it simply wasn't going to happen. Not with her being as injured as she was. She just hoped Toda could hold his own until she got there.

Shadow saw a bright burst of light and ran toward it. "Zane!",she yelled in joy and ran toward him,using her arms to give him a hug,but quickly back away and coughed. "I thought I lost you.",she said and then noticed he had evolved. "Well. Doesn't someone look different?"

((Sorry about being gone like that. This week was insane. she can evolve if you like.))
Zane looked down at Shadow, then looked up, then looked back down with a smug grin. He was taller than her now! " Yep. Turns out splices can evolve, and I managed to be the first to do so. " he said, thinking more about his recent evolution than anything emotional like loosing his only real friend. He looked around, suddenly growing suspicious of the forest, even though he couldn't hear, see, or smell anything dangerous nearby. " We should probably get moving again. Lekke is probably almost here. " he said, now looking at the river they were by. It would probably be best to travel along its edge since he couldn't get through the underbrush as easily now.
Toda struggled against the Scyther, and started to panic as it's dagger of an arm edged forced itself closer to the nonmetallic parts of his body. When the weight suddenly left his wing, Toda looked up the the Scyther in confusion, only having a moments notice before its other arm swung down on him, delivering a large, clean cut to his right side. Toda screeched in pain and stumbled back as the Scyther yanked its arm back, drawing closer as it became certain of its victory. In the back of his mind Toda registered his trainer calling his name, but barely heard him over the pounding of his heart and the throbbing of his side.
As a loud screech rang through the forest, Lekke decided she couldn't bother with these bushes anymore, and in an impressive feet of acrobatics she leapt up the side of a tree and jumped off of it, clearing the remaining bushes and landing between the Scyther and Toda. The sight of her partner's blood threw her into a rage and she sprang onto the Scyther's face, clawing it mercilessly.

((Yeah. Some pokemon are weird like that. Zane's eye change too in his next evolution. Shadow will probably evolve another time pretty soon after the first, unless you want to go ahead and do both evolutions at once since they're so close together.)) " I don't know, I kind of like things like this, " Zane said, still gloating about the height difference. " We'd seriously better get moving though. We just got free, and I am NOT about to get recaptured, " Zane half growled that last part. He knew that if he did get caught he probably would end up dead, but he doubted that could be worse than having to do his trainer's bidding anymore. He trotted off towards the river, letting the flames on his head and rump go up a few inches now that he was out of the bush.
The Scyther was unprepared for the sudden onslaught of Lekke's claws, and was stumbling backwards when she bit down hard on its face, sending a strong shock of electricity through her jaws. The Scyther whimpered and collapsed, twitching as the electricity coursed through its system. Lekke hopped off of her enemy once she was certain he wasn't going to get up and rush over to Toda as her trainer captured the unconscious Scyther with a black pokeball.
Toda felt his legs go limp and his eyes shut as he tried to find a way to deal with the pain. He had never been injured this badly before, and he never wanted to feel something like this ever again. He softly whimpered and twitched his right wing, wanting nothing more than to be back at headquarters where he could get his side fixed quickly. He barely felt his trainer picking him up. He was too focused on the pain it caused.
Lekke's trainer glared at the other two who flinched at the rage they saw on his face. " You two idiots better recapture those two splices and take them back to base. I will see you demoted for your incompetence. You'll be lucky if the admin doesn't kill you both on the spot when you get back to base, " he growled at them, marching back to the van so he could get Toda healed. It wouldn't be any perfect fix out in the field like this, but it was better than sitting around letting the splice bleed.

Shadow nodded and walked out to the rushed water,but suddenly stopped,feeling a bit weird. She glanced at Zane before she began to glow and felt the flames on her tail grow in size and her eye color changed from blue to green. Also her claws largened and claws formed on her hands. Her color dulled and she grew just a bit,her nose almost reaching Zane's. Once she quit evolving she felt her eyes widened and she looked at Zane with a grin. "It seems I am the second splice to evolve successfully.",she laughed at him and then began to prance around him,gloating the entire time.

Zane's smirk barely faltered as she evolved, but grew even stronger when he saw her new form. " It doesn't stop me form being taller than you, " he chuckled. He stopped suddenly and perked his ears up, startled by the sound of a distant and viscous fight. He wasn't certain what was going on, but it gave him even more motivation for getting out of this place. The forest was great and all, but he was pretty sure it wasn't the place for him what with all of the things that had tried to kill him so far. He fell back into his normal posture with a nervous laugh and subconsciously sped up a little.
Zane's trainer opened his mouth as though he were about to make some sort of great comeback, but decided that probably wasn't the best way to go. Lekke's trainer was right. He would probably get worse than a demotion, even if he didn't start sassing people. With a growl he stomped off into the forest in the direction he though he saw his stupid splice go. The small collar lying limp in the dirt seemed to taunt him for his failure, and he took his anger out on the bushes he had to get through, ripping them apart as he moved, even though he could just move them to the side with less effort.
Lekke closely followed her trainer, her worry growing with every drop of Toda's blood that hit the ground. If they were back at base this wouldn't be a problem, but she had no idea if Toda could be healed in a place like this. She certainly didn't see any medical facilities nearby. ...Maybe it was for the best if she stopped thinking about this so much. She was going to drive herself into a panic.
((I don't remember if I gave Lekke's trainer a name before, so I'm to give him one soon. I'm talking about him way too much to just stick to 'Lekke's trainer'))

Shadow nodded and said,"Lets get going now. Also,by my next evolution I may be taller than you,so ha!" She didn't know whether or not she would evolve again,but liked to think of it that way. Shadow's trainer walked slowly behind Zane's muttering angrily about Lekke's trainer.

((His name from now on shall be Felix. I might add a little bio kind of thing to my characters post to keep track of his character...stuff. And for the sake of time I'll go ahead and name Zane's trainer Liam. Also I'm not too sure what to do with Zane right now. Maybe a short time skip soon. Actually, definitely a short time skip soon. Probably to whenever their trainers catch up to them.))
Zane kept on walking. His endurance truly was astounding.
Liam eventually ran out of anger and stopped shredding the plants he passed, choosing instead to go for the easier path of simply pushing them to the side. Every few minutes he sighed, wanting nothing more than to admit defeat and go back to base, but he was pretty sure if he didn't something like that the admins would have his head. Looks like he would be trudging through this filthy forest for quite a while.
Felix sped up to a steady jog, not wanting to wait much longer to get Toda fixed up, but when he got back to the clearing he found it was empty. He groaned and looked around, realizing the guys in charge of the vans had driven off to some place with air conditioning and food. Not that he could really blame them. They didn't need to be here for another couple of hours when everyone was supposed to return, but this was really inconvenient. He set Toda on the ground and took off the small, black, fabric bag that had been hanging on his back. He opened it up and pulled out the bandages and disinfectant within. It wasn't much to work with, and he didn't have much medical experience, but it would have to do. Lekke sat next to him silently and watched her trainer attempt to fix her friend.

((Okay. We'll say it's evening now.))
Zane trudged along, his paws aching and his stomach practically curling in on itself as he went. His paws were unused to the rough ground of the forest, having been treated to smooth tiles all of his life, and they were very vocal about their displeasure with the fact that he was still walking on rough terrain. His stomach had even more reason to complain, seeing as he hadn't eaten since the morning. He hadn't considered this when he escaped, but he didn't know what to eat. His trainer just gave him this wet mushy stuff that tasted okay and that's what he ate, but he hadn't seen any of that around here. Finally he decided he had enough and flopped onto the ground with a sigh. " Shadow..., " he moaned, " I'm starting to think that we didn't think this through. "
Liam had stopped searching hours ago and had simply been sitting under a tree by a river, trying to figure out what he was going to do. There as no way he could find those splices again. He didn't know the first thing about tracking pokemon! He was actually considering leaving the country at this point to avoid punishment. It wouldn't be too hard. He had some money on him. If he stole a little more he could make his way to a port town and ship himself off to a different region. One where Team Rocket didn't have any power. That was pretty much the only thing he could do, unless he found those splices that is, and he had already given up on that. Well, his mind was made up. He would stay in the forest for the night, and in the morning he would find a town and get out of here.

Shadow was feeling miserable and by now she was literally walking on her claws. Her feet hurt and her stomach was growling so loud she was surprised that Zane hadn't noticed it. When she saw Zane fall down she ran over and heard him speak. "Me too. We didn't think about food or rough ground."
(Braindead.)
