(Alright, sounds good to me. I think you should,I don't mean to make them act a bit like me,but they do.)

Shadow nodded and said,"We may evolve, though. I always hear the trainers and scientists saying I may be strong enough to evolve." She then stuck a her cold hands over the flame, once removing them from the freezing floor. They warmed pretty quick, but she left them over the flame, just incase.

((I'll probably try to start doing it once and then forget.  Here's the link to the evolutions and stuff.  I'm pretty proud of Shadow's sprite, but I didn't know if you wanted her to have wings or not so I made a sprite with and without wings.

" I hope I'll look cool. " Zane admitted with a sigh.  He knew at the moment he looked cute to some people and he didn't like that  He wanted people and pokemon to look at him and think ' He looks really cool and strong. Wow. ' Yeah.  Just like that.  " Since we can probably evolve, maybe we should wait until we've evolved to try escaping.  That way we'll know that we're strong. " Zane told Shadow.  Evolving was a guaranteed way of knowing that you were strong.  Why, Zane was certain he had never seen an evolved pokemon that was anything but mighty! He wanted to be like that.

Lekke sniffed at the young splice who stared up at her with its small yellow eyes.  From what she saw he looked like he would grow into a very strong fighter.  He had sharp talons and a beak that could cause a lot of damage if he wanted it to.  Not to mention his wings which, while small, were made up of many razor sharp feathers that could cut skin. " You will be teaching this young pokemon to fight and help him understand the glory of Team Rocket." her trainer said and Lekke nodded in understanding.  This young splice was her responsibility now, which made her have one very important question. " What's your name? " She asked the young splice.

Toda blinked up at the splice in front of him.  The taller creatures standing by him were talking about something too complicated for him to understand.  Not that he cared, this newcomer was more interesting by far.  She was closer to his size and brightly colored and he liked that.  She didn't use complicated words either, so he knew how to respond to her question.  He wasn't sure exactly how he knew this, but he definitely knew his name.  " I am Toda. " he told her.  He wasn't entirely ure whether he came up with that name or if his mom named him and he forgot.

(They both look, with wings and without, awesome. I think I want her with wings, though.)

Shadow nodded and said,"I think we both will look cool. Also,if we do evolve,we should be able to escape without breaking a sweat, you think?" She then curled her tail to where the flame lied between them,to warm them both, and smiled on of her rare and awkward looking smiles.

" Yeah.  And until then we'll stay together in as many battles as possible so we can practice together! " Zane said, his tone growing more excited as he went on.  It looked like they finally had a decent plan, and he was very pleased with that.

Lekke smiled at Toda, who smiled back at her. " I am Lekke.  I'm going to be your partner! " she told him eagerly.  She was looking forward to being able to battle without worrying about whether or not she had a decent partner in the group battles.  She would be able to teach Toda to be just as good as she was and then she would never lose another battle!  Her trainer would be so proud!

Toda noticed the other splice was happy and smiling so he mimicked her, which seemed to please her.  She said her name was Lekke, and he liked it.  Sure, it wasn't as good as his name but it was still pretty nice.  He stood on his wobbly legs and bounced closer to her.  The scientists wrote down the results of this first interaction between their first splice pair.  Things were going perfectly.

((I say time skip to a couple weeks into the future.  At that point we can start having pokemon evolve.  If we say they all level at about the same speed then the evolution order will go Zane, then Shadow, and then Lekke.  Toda won't evolve until later since he evolves at a higher level.  Also, Shadow will evolve once and then a second time within a short time.))

((Okay...readying the time machine....aaaaaand time skip...NOW!  We are now two weeks in the future.))

" Now, as you all already know, this will be the first mission in which the splices have been used.  I want no mistakes.  If any splice goes missing there will be severe consequences.  Am I clear? " an executive member asked.  Well, he didn't ask so much as demand that they understood what he said.  The scientists in front of him chorused " Yes sir! " and left the room to get their splices.  They were going on a simple mission to search for a rare pokemon called Ariados to use in a splicing experiment.  Since they would be going to Viridian Forest it was unlikely that they would run into any trouble, and any trainers that happened through the area wouldn't have pokemon strong enough to defeat the splices.  The scientists who were going would be wearing civilian clothing to disguise themselves.  There was no reason to wear the Rocket uniform and attract the police on such a mission.

The scientists entered the Sleep Room, each grabbing the pokemon that had been assigned to them and taking them to a room to prepare them.  Most of the pokemon hadn't been told they were going somewhere and weren't sure why they were in this room.  The only ones who knew were those who had some sort of bond with the scientist who trained them, like Lekke.  Lekke didn't really need any preparing.  She made sure her teeth and claws were sharp last night so all she needed was the tracking collar.  She didn't really want to have it but she understood why the humans were doing it.  She had heard whispers going around from pokemon who weren't satisfied with what they had.  They wanted to leave, but they were too valuable for Team Rocket to risk losing, so tracking collars were put in place to prevent any losses.

Zane looked around, not quite sure what was going on.  Just about everyone was in this room having their health checked and getting collars put on them.  Shadow was nearby and he turned to her and asked, " What's going on? " The scientist who trained him put his collar on, pulling it tight enough to be uncomfortable, but loose enough that he could breath.  He instantly decided he didn't like having a collar, but he knew better than to scratch at it.  It was too early to get smacked for being disobedient.

Toda  looked at Lekke, eagerly bouncing on his feet as he watched his trainer put a collar on Lekke.  He had trained really hard for this day, and he was more than ready to go out and work for Team Rocket.  Lekke had told him all about how great Team Rocket was and how he would play a part in the organizations return to power just like the rest of the splices.  As his trainer came to him, Toda stopped bouncing and started balance on one foot.  He held the other out so he could have his collar put there.  Yesterday his trainer told him his body just wasn't made for collars, so his leg would have to do.  They all went over what they were supposed to do today so their trainer would look good and get something called a promotion.

((Lots and lots and lots of words.))

Shadow was carried to a unknown room and placed near her new friend,Zane. When she was asked a question she replied,"I have no idea. Something about a mission, but I don't know." Soon after she finished speaking a collar was placed around her neck and she had an urge to nip the her scientist's hand, but stopped herself. There was and upside to this,if Zane and her could chew off each others collar after escaping from the group they would be free. Storing that plan for telling Zane later she watched her scientist very closely.

(9Here's a little something that might be important in the future:Pokeballs don't work on splices.  The mixed DNA confuses the coding in the pokeballs and they determine that the splices aren't pokemon.  They are something else, therefore no pokeball will capture them, because pokeballs only catch what they perceive to be pokemon.))

One of the top scientist in charge of the program passed though the ranks of splices and trainers, checking to make sure everything was in order before they started the mission.  After removing a few pokemon who were refusing to cooperate with having collars on, it was determined that they were ready to go and each scientist picked up the pokemon they were in charge of and left the room.  The group walked through some long hallways for a while before entering an elevator.  The elevator was made to handle large objects and pokemon, so it easily carried all of the scientists and pokemon up to the ground level of the building.  After about a minute of waiting in the elevator, the doors opened and the group went to a large room that only contained three vans.  The group split into two and entered the vans.  Two people sat in front and the rest stayed in the back with the pokemon.

Lekke Walked with her trainer to the elevator.  About a week ago her trainer stopped carrying her and made her walk on her own.  He complained about her getting too fat for him to carry, but she knew he wasn't being serious about it.  Her growth meant she was getting more powerful, and she knew her trainer liked that.  She knew she was progressing much faster than many other splices.  Only a few had kept up with her in terms of strength.  Though she was now free to walk on her own, she made sure not to stray far from her trainer.  This was unknown territory for her, so she had to rely on him to know where they had to go.

Toda was held firmly in his trainer's arms, his feet dangling below him.  He could tell by the way his trainer had to hold him so tightly that he was getting too big for this.  He might have to start walking around like Lekke!  Not that he was complaining about that.  Whatever Lekke did was something that he wanted to do.  Whenever he worked with her and copied what she did, good things happened.  With his thoughts getting excited, his body followed suit and he started wiggling round and flapping his small wings.  " Stop that. " his trainer his and Toda glanced up and him before going still again.  He mentally repeated to himself that he needed to do what his trainer wanted, because his trainer wanted what was best for him.   He learned that from Lekke.

Zane grunted as he was rather roughly picked up by his trainer.  Though for the first couple of weeks there wasn't anyone in particular who carried him to places, recently this scientist started doing everything with him.  He was certain that this hadn't been his trainer's decision because his trainer didn't really like him very much.  He didn't bother being careful with him, and whenever he yiped because his trainer swung him around to roughly, he ended up getting smacked. Not wanting to risk anything, Zane stayed silent and looked around, trying to see if anything interesting was around him, and there certainly was plenty to see as they started going to places he had never been before.  In fact, he was almost certain they were heading for the surface!

(Good to know. Thank you.)

Shadow was picked up by her trainer and held tightly as she began to wiggle around into a comfortable position. Looking around as she was carried to an elevator and then the elevator lurched into movement. 'Interesting... I would have never thought I would be brought as far as this. Could it be that we are heading to the surface?',the thought carefully went through her mind as the doors opened and she was carried into a van. "Why would they take us outside?",she whispered to herself, not knowing if Zane was in the same van as her or not.

Lekke followed her trainer to the van and jumped in, landing on her hands for a moment as the rest of her body followed in the almost cat-like leap.  Her trainer had been on of the first to get to the van, so he got to sit in the back of the space where it was darkest.  Sure there were some lights in the back of the van, but they were dim so they wouldn't make night missions too obvious.

As the other people and splices piled into the van, Toda situated himself on his trainer's lap.  Now that he wasn't being carried his trainer let go of him and expected him not to run off, which was more trust than most of the scientists put in their splices.  eventually he got comfortable and plopped down.  It was a very short plop thanks to his short legs which he was now sitting on.  Now that he was finally comfortable, Toda started to examine his surroundings.  Unfortunately he had taken too long to get comfortable and the doors were shut, making it too dim to see anything with much clarity.  The only thing he was certain he could see was Lekke because she was right in front of him, standing by their trainer's legs.

Zane stayed still and silent and the elevator went up and he was carried to a new place that had lots of large box things with wheels on them.  As the doors opened and he was carried inside, he figured out that they were in some kind of portable room, kind of like those tables with wheels except bigger and you could go in it.  He had never been in one and was insanely curious, but he couldn't walk around and look at things, so he took a big sniff at the air instead.  This sent him into a nasty coughing fit and the worst thing he had ever smelled filled his nose.  What on earth could this portable room be made of that made it smell so bad?!  The tightening of his trainer's hand told Zane that his patience was quickly vanishing, and he made the smart decision to suppress his next couple of coughs and simply endure the stench.  His trained set him on his while keeping a strong grip on the scruff of his neck.  The doors closed, everything became much darker, and the moving room started to move.

((Zane is in the same van as Shadow, but because it's dark he hasn't noticed her yet.))

(Ok,thanks.)

Shadow had the small amount of light created by her tail wen the doors closed and she tried to be comfortable in her trainers strong grip. After moving into a more comfortable position she had her tail by her face and eyes closed. Then the strange, cramped, room began to move and she held back the urge to freak out. The smell was disgusting, but at least they were going somewhere outside and that was going to be interesting.

Lekke stared at the wall, thinking about how the mission would go.  She had never seen the outside, and she was very curious about what it looked like.  She knew it was big, and it didn't have walls or a ceiling, but that was the extent of her knowledge.  Her trainer promised it was more than that, but he wouldn't explain how.  Was it so amazing that there was no way to describe it?  That truly would be wonderful.

Toda looked around at the other pokemon.  He couldn't see them very well, but his eyes were starting to adjust to the light and he could tell a little bit about them.  While most of the trainers looked bored, many of the splices looked excited.  Some had some fear mixed into that excitement, but he could still see it in them.  He wondered if everyone felt the same urge he did.  The urge to be in a place that was big and full of new things that were always changing.  A place to run around and fight and eat and do everything.  If the outside was like that then he would be very happy.

Zane sat stiffly on his trainer's lap, trying to look around without moving too much.  He kept his claws dug into his trainer's pants just enough to keep himself still when the moving room jerked around.  His eyes quickly adjusted to the light, and his nose slowly began to ignore the smell.  The splices closest to him were ones he didn't know very well, but a few splices over he saw a glow that he recognized as Shadow's tail.  He knew she would notice him soon as well since his hind quarters gave off quite a bit more light than her tail did.  His flames were so hot that his trainer had to wear fire proof clothes when handling him.  That is, he started wearing them after the first time his uniform caught on fire.

(Smart. Handling fire without wearing fire proof cloths.)

Shadow eventually opened her eyes when it appeared that the moving room was on smoother ground and could see the bright light from Zane. She moved her tail away from her face and squinted her eyes a bit. "I'm sure that's Zane.",she whispered as her eyes adjusted and went back to their normal,un-squinted,selves. "Zane!",she called quietly and flinched as her trainer moved, thinking he may hit her over the head for the noise, but he was only stretching.

((In the anime fire type pokemon generally won't burn their trainers, even if they're covered in fire.  For some reason their fire won't burn people they like.  Zane's fire burnt his trainer, which means he either can't control his fire because it's too strong for him to control, or he doesn't like his trainer.  Most members of Team Rocket don't think that the way they treat their pokemon matters, so they wouldn't understand the real reason why Zane's fire was causing problems.  It doesn't make much sense but I'm going with it.))

Zane twitched at the sound of his name, but didn't move more than that.  He knew that voice was Shadow's, and he wanted to respond but he was afraid to.  He hoped they would be working together, or at least near each other when they left the moving room.  It seemed like they did almost all of their battles and training exercises together, and he was starting to think that was planned.  Some of the other splices were having a similar thing happen to them.  He guessed they were being partnered up for some reason, but he had no idea why.

((I'm not going to bother writing about what Toda and Lekke are doing, because they aren't doing anything.  After you next post we'll have a small time skip.  About fifteen or twenty minutes to get them to their destination.))

((That's fine by me.))

Twenty minutes after leaving the base, the vans slowed to a stop.  They were in a thickly wooded area, where there were lots of pokemon and very few humans.  The drivers of the vans scouted out the area, making sure there was nothing that would cause trouble nearby, before opening the back doors of the vans.  The scientists and their splices filed out of the vehicle.  Each Rocket member already knew what they were doing and who they were working with.  The Rockets split into groups of three and headed into the forest.

Lekke followed her trainer out of the van, following him closely so she wouldn't get separated from him in the crowd.  She didn't have enough time to stop and look at her surrounding, but the little she could see through the legs of the humans, this place was definitely like nothing she had ever seen before.  The ground squished under her feet, some of it even sticking to her as she ran.  The air was warm and brushed against her as though she was standing by an air vent but here weren't any vents around.  The light came from something she couldn't see, and it was brighter than the lights of the building she grew up in.  When everyone finally seperated into their groups, Lekke got her first good look at the place she was in.  Her eyes widened with wonder and she looked at the forest.

Toda remained in his trainer's arms and got a good look at every before Lekke did, but because he was younger his reaction wasn't as strong.  He was still curious and amazed, but it was to a lesser degree.  Most of the splices around the same age as Lekke stopped and stared as well.  Some had less time to look around then others as their trainers didn't have the patience to give them a moment of wonder.  Toda's trainer understood his pokemon a bit better though, and let them have their little moment.

Zane didn't have the dignity of walking out of the van and was carried out by his trainer.  Other than a quiet gasp, his reaction to the forest with silence and wide eyes.  He was starting to instinctively repress his urges to make noise round his trainer.  His trainer carried him over to the group he was in and dropped his, not even bothering to bend over or crouch or anything.  Zane was thrown out of his reverie by gravity and he flailed his legs around, somehow managing to land decently.

((Lekke, Zane, Toda, and Shadow are all going to be in the same group for plot's sake.))

Shadow was carried out into the bright light outside the van and blinked a few times before looking around in wonder at the strange things. A green thing shaped like a tear fell from a large green and brown thing and landed on her face. Quickly she grabbed it as her trainer bent over slightly and then let her fall into a group of three trainers and four splices that she recognized as Zane, one she had fought, and a newer splice. She began to play with the green thing in her hands to ignore the urge to run far from the group. Not daring to let her tail touch the ground she raised it high and stood, still looking at the green ground.

The three scientists awkwardly attempted to chat with each other but repeatedly failed to find each other interesting enough to have a decent conversation.  Eventually they decided not talking was better and headed away from the other groups.  The current mission was to acquire pokemon that were rare in the area like Ariados and Carnivine, but the real goal was to see how well the splices handled themselves in the field.  They wanted to make sure they could handle the outside world before throwing them into more important missions.  The splices that performed the best would be moved up a rank along the the person who trained them and they would continue going on missions.  The rest would be put back into training until they were deemed worthy of another easy mission like this.

Lekke quietly followed her trainer, occasionally having to jog to keep up with him when she got distracted.  She decided that it was okay or her to enjoy the forest for now, as long as she focused when it was time for her to battle.  She knew they were looking for pokemon to catch and she planned on doing things right the first time they found the pokemon they wanted.

Toda hopped out of his trainer's arms and hopped beside Lekke, easily keeping up with her.  His short legs made walking pretty slow, so he usually went for hopping when he had to move faster.  He glanced at the other two pokemon in the group.  He didn't really know them very well, but he hoped they were nice and loyal like Lekke was.  Though by the ex
pression on the male splice's face, he doubted the nice-ness was there.

Zane tried to enjoy the forest, he really did, but he couldn't help but feel like everything was being made worse by Lekke.  After that first fight with her he had tried to befriend her in the socializing room, but he just couldn't stand her.  She was sickeningly loyal to Team Rocket, and when he mentioned he didn't really like them she tried to snap his neck.  After that he avoided her and whenever she was chosen to fight him she was overly aggressive, often hurting him more than she had to.  Her partner would be nice if it weren't for the fact that he mimicked everything she did.

Shadow ran up to Zane, wonder in her eyes and showed him the leaf. "Look at this!",she whispered in awe,"Have you ever seen anything like it?" "It's beautiful. It has a bright color like the splices, but it isn't a splice. What is it?",she added and continued to walk beside him.

Lekke eventually glanced at the other splices in the group.  Toda was hopping around, looking quite pleased with with the forest, but not as awed as everyone else was.  He always had been a strange one.  The other two were known to her, but she only knew one of them decently.  Not that that was a good thing.  Zane was a terrible splice.  He told her he didn't even like Team Rocket, the very organization that created him!  He was an ungrateful and always worked against his orders as much as he could.  He disgusted her.  She just hoped he wouldn't do anything stupid to ruin the mission.  The last splice in the group was one she had only fought once, and never really spoke to.  She knew Zane liked the gold splice, so she decided it was best to be wary of her.  Hopefully she would prove to be a loyal splice, unlike her friend.

Zane was taken out of his little pit of angry emotions by Shadow.  He missed the first bit of what she said, but her question was simple enough that he guessed that he didn't need to know that first sentence exactly.  He squinted at the thing she held.  It was bright orange, kind of like his flames, but it had a much more defined shape.  Kind of pointy in a few places and very very thin, kind of like paper. " Maybe it's some kind of forest paper. " he guessed, his angry thoughts dissipating as he started to focus on nicer things.

Toda hopped along, speeding up so he could hop beside his trainer's legs.  He remained completely oblivious to the other splices and their conversations and emotions.  His attention to his surroundings turned out to be good for him, as he was the first splice to realize there was someone new with them.  Being as short as he was, it was easy for him to see straight through the under brush using the gap between the plants and the ground.  A pair of eyes stared at him with curiosity and...fear?  He wasn't sure what there was to be afraid about.  Chirping, Toda hopped closer to the wild pokemon, not sure how to treat it.  He continued to chirp to get his trainer's attention so he could get some orders.  As he got closer, he started to make out some of the pokemon's features.  It was small and fat and looked kind of like him, but it didn't have wings or a beak or a tail.
