OOC: Thank you sweetheart, I won it out of a cauldron.
Oh well. That was when we were free and wild, fresh to the buffet of words just awaiting our use. Now, however...
... I still wanna make changes xDD I came up with an alternative name for Hurjad which I prefer so much more, but I'm gonna keep that one under wraps. Unlike Tevereo, fuzzychin is using a fake name. Protect identities and stuff.
I was talking about Vashers but there we go xD I was thinking, "I've probably made it appear directed at le Haran lads". Mebbe that's why she's so obsessed with him being there for her rescue. Wants to see some nice manly bulk, since the Doctor's pretty skinny and Shade is... well, tiny.
And maan. Knives can be really catty when he tries hard enough xD I had to check up "dolt" though. The result did make me giggle.
Nohnoh, 'tis fine. :3 Some more running around won't hurt (us, at least). I, er, apologise if anything I write borders on being godmoding, too xD

There was a flurry at every angle. Knives' golden face was suddenly right above hers so that she could see every line of hair on his eyebrows. The lavender spite of his eyes. And there was that fierce strength clenching on her neck, with her pulse hammering wildly against his gloves. At an instant her metal claws tore out to reach centimetres against his belly. She hadn't even meant to do it. The horror, the alarm, that momentary whir of panic just speared them out right from between her knuckles. They hovered, quivering, almost touching the dusty creases around his ribs. The bones in her white forearms jutted out from the strain.

"Ditto," Shade managed to choke back. The temptation to leave a little scratch was only halted by the sensation of his younger twin's eyes, probably stretched wide open with surprise.

And then there was the Doctor, screwdriver out and already poised at Knives at a full arm's length. He looked near-frantic at first with his whitened eyes transfixed on the Plant. But that quiet rage had returned and was already bubbling in his fingers to release another blast of screaming noise.

"Let her go," he ordered. And then his voice grew slack, edged with an undertone of... near-casualness. "Just thought I'd give you the choice instead of splitting your temple open with... what, a very loud sound? At several metres away it was enough to make you crash-land like a worn-out messenger pigeon. But two metres away? I'll apologise beforehand, Shade, if you end up a little messy. Not much control over this thing. Relies pretty much on aim alone. And even if it doesn't send your face splattering all over the ground  - and Shade - you'll probably get a wretched headache that made you wish you'd never woken up from the coma it followed. Who knows how long that'll last?" By now the tip of the whirring little device was ablaze with blue; a neon star against the black and the gold.

Almost a growl, he added, "Your call."

blahlahahblah.

OoC: Technically yah, it's pretty much an open roleplay. Always has been. Buuuut it can also be confusing to try and jump in on since we've been going at it for so long. xD
We're more than willing to explain things to curious bros like you, but there's just so much that might need explaining it's kind of crazy and maybe a little overwhelming. What do you mean, silver-haired guys? Explosion? Ghost town? Fera, Harans, Theslern, Gunsmoke? These two dudes that struck a deal to kidnap somebody actually have a pretend bromance? You killed Barney once??
... Okay I'll stop.
Anyway. Pretty much, if you reaaaally wanna join, that's fine. You just might have to work through some confusion along the way.
Also please don't think this is a completely silly roleplay. xD The name.. seems to mislead people a lot. It's not random in that way. It's an anything roleplay, definitely, but it still takes itself seriously~

OoC: Welp. School's started up again. ;( No more spending the evening and the start of the next day writing and then waiting anxiously for the rest of the morning. Having a mini heart-attack over every alert that appears and making this ridiculous face at everything you ever say.
Well I'll probably still have mini heart-attacks and make dumb faces but.
Also aaaa I always feel like saying feels instead of feet sounds really creepy somehow. Oh, you're just a feel away baby ooh.
Ah, well. It'll just have to sound creepy. I mean, hey. While the poor guy is getting paired up with Tevereo and Shade why not pile the Doctor on too? 8Y

Oh crap oh crap he had Shade he had her by the neck he was going to kill her this was so bad this was really really bad.

Vash should have seen this coming he should have at least not panicked so much it wasn't exactly the first time Knives had pulled something like this. But he didn't, it came like a sledgehammer out of nowhere and busted him in the face and left him scrambling to get back up. The Plant fumbled with Wolfwood's gun and dropped it on the floor and while he scrambled to grab it up again he heard Shade's indignant choking voice and the Doctor's all firm and threatening and oh god they were all going to kill each other he had to do something before everything went all to hell even more than it already had.

"Just leave it, Spiky!" It was Wolfwood's voice again, loud and gravelly and urgent. "It doesn't matter, I've got a damn dozen guns over here, just take another one, or use yours or something!" He threw another
across the space just behind Shade's back, and another one after that when the first just clattered at Vash's feet. "Stop standing there staring at me, you idiot, shoot him already! Tackle him! Something!"

"But I-"

"Oh don't you dare start whinin' about your goddamn morals. Now is not the time, all right? If you won't do it then I will, so unless you really want yer insane brother riddled with a whole crapload of mercy, then get your ass movin'."

-

Of course. There he was, weapon in hand. The absolute worst man here to turn a person's back on and Knives did exactly that. Great. Just great. Perfect. Now he had to deal with both of these buffoons with their claws and their loud noises at the same time, and keep an eye on the other two too. As if the other two were much to worry about. Chapel already tried once and just couldn't do it, at least not before Legato found him, and Vash.. well, Vash was Vash. He couldn't squish a tarantula if it bit him in the ass.

"Well, Doctor." Knives still kept his fingers curled tight around the cat's neck. No reason to let go yet. This guy sure didn't have the spine to try anything either - he kept making faces now and then at Vash, ever since he'd walked through those doors and starting blabbering on about principles and his noggin a hell of a lot else. Probably looking for some kind of okay he was never gonna get. "Have you stopped to think that hey, maybe you just got a lucky shot? You caught me off-guard. Whoops, wasn't paying attention, you got me. Big deal. That was a few hundred feels away - you were all safe and sound with a little space between us. But without the help of your fancy little tools I have a feeling you're not much good in a fight. Right? Obviously. That thing misses and you're as damn good as dead, I bet."

And just what the hell were they doing? Playing Marco Polo? They'd been yelling like morons for the past couple minutes, and it-

Oh. Oh damn. Knives growled a sigh. Of course that was it.

"Why are you pointing that stupid clumsy thing in my face?"

"Just do what he said, Knives. Let her go. Please."

OOC: Hopefully you'll start getting some sleep, too xD Iz great that you love this thread as much as I do, but I do not wants you getting all unhealthy and deprived from lack of sleep. As for the waiting anxiously and the making stupid faces and all the laughing, I could say you're not alone there...
Twiggy and shorty xDDD Ohman.
Nah, Hurjly's got some muscle, from all his training and fighting and... kidnapping, I guess xD But he's not like Vash. Man, Vash is ripped compared to them. My Harans are nowhere near that meaty xD Tevereo's not quite as strong but he could look after himself, if need be... Since he's deer-based he relies more on agility and stuff :x Hurjad's... stronger and more flexible xDDD
Oh, baby, I don't have any double dollars, but... would a kiss or two do? Wait, money? Oh godamnit, go save someone else then. I'll stick with these brothers instead. They're kinda fun when they argue. And the older one doesn't want me dead like.
xD Nias mentioned a few times, waaaay back in the city (that's becoming a phrase for this thread now) that Shade has these Wolverine-type slashers she can whip out whenever she wants.
A feel away....
... xDDDD

Shade's throat tightened then loosened again; wetted her drying mouth. Felt a hard jump in her chest. She'd heard the click of Wolfwood extracting a pistol out of that impressive, mysterious cross and spotted it, in the corner of her eye, swinging like a boomerang towards her back. The metal blades in her left hand vanished and with a little flick in the air the handle sat in her palm.

Shade steadied the shaking sidearm and poised it a little way under Knives' chin. She didn't dare jab the face of the barrel onto his skin though, or flash him any kind of victorious, smug smile. She just kept level-faced and serene. Inside, though, she was purring deeply and loudly, with purple slits for eyes narrowed with satiety.

And now, sagging at the seams, was Vash, standing with a gun of his own. She used the term "standing" lightly - he looked like he was using the last of his reserves just holding the thing up to his brother's head. Yeah, Knives, please let her go.

The Doctor meanwhile hadn't objected to the sudden distribution of the guns. Not even a shadow of a frown - the kind he grew occasionally whenever one of the group whipped out a weapon to shoot something with. Even when fending off those vampires she'd caught snippets of the Doctor's disapproval clear on his face.

The screwdriver continued to whirr, until, strangely, the buzzing noise began to break. Patterning itself into a new rhythm. The light flickered distractedly at them, as if it were falling asleep or  - god forbid, oh Christ -  powering down.

"Dogtor..." Shade stammered helplessly. If that goddamned device decided to cut out then that was one less delay on her death. Knives would only have to deal with a few guns and three blades shaking with unease. Easy enough for him, surely?

"It's..." the Doctor said, quizzical. "There's something happening. To the West..." He looked away into the darkness for only a few moments, to the black horizon lying against the dotted sheet of navy above.

*

It looked like there had been a strangely artistic fight in the dust. Repeated several times were spiked symbols and shapes that interconnected here and there. Tevereo stood amidst them with his older brother scrutinising the shapes with a teacherlike intensity. Frowns flickered on and off, and during the time they were on his face, faint but quite there, he'd crouch and correct some of the lines. The younger of the two never looked to the distance.

In the meantime, some of the symbols - the most accurately drawn - had begun to... well, float. The dust that had gathered in the tiny trenches were floating a few millimetres above them, like a grainy fog.

"Shall I do the final versions?" Tevereo asked hesitantly.

"You already did, little brother."

Tevereo gave a jump. He stared at his brother. Then back at the symbols, incredulous. "Wait... They're right?"

"I corrected a few. But I'm certain the rest are good enough to use."

Tevereo gave a brisk, accomplished smile, but only after Hurjad turned away towards the foetal she-Haran, nestled in the blanket like a baby. Soundly sleeping and dreaming of something that must've been... calming. She never stirred.

OOC: I'll add more later. Gotta finish my painting for artsss.

OoC: oooooo shade you beast you get dat gun awe yeah
... Sleep, pfffff. whoneedsit.
And kidnapping. Makes it sound like he's makin' a living doing this, eh? Or does he just enjoy stealing fine young womens away from their absurdly ripped bodyguards and tiny friends. 8Y
Oh so you like it like that, do you dear Ces? You can't just have one man. Oh goodness no, you've gotta have both. There's just no point in having half of a pair. And let's face it, these two are plain beggin' for you to cast a glance their way, all that effort they're going through. Honestly, are you some fresh bacon, darling? 'Cause you are sizzling.
... Okay yah uh. Post. xD

Knives shrunk back a step. Just one. There was no way he was backing down, hell no. But.. damnit, he should have at least noticed all that commotion sooner than this. Sooner than having at least a dozen bullets and a whole lot of noise aimed for his head. They may have been a bunch of cowards who couldn't pull a trigger without stopping to think about the morality of it for a week, but it'd take a dead man not to see that this was a hell of a bad place to be. Eventually someone had to move.

"Well," he started. At least a few sour words could always sucker them in. Every time, it was argue instead of act. Get all defensive and try to shoot some logic and understanding back. Frustrating as it got sometimes when he was actually trying to be serious, at least it could be pretty useful. "This is heartwarming isn't it? Everyone joins together to save the day and help the brave little kitty keep her head on straight. Bravo, good work team, that was just great. I'd applaud you if I didn't have my hands so full. You know how it.." Knives stopped short. Eyed the little blue light apparently about to blow his face off.

Yes.

Absolutely perfect.

No time to lose while the Doctor was distracted. He shoved the cat away, let her fall wherever she might, grabbed the outstretched arm and wrenched it like a stubborn lever in the hopes of knocking that silly screwdriver to the ground. He might have gotten a little too enthusiastic over it but hey, no loss to him if some meddling schmuck got hurt. All that mattered right now was getting all these weapons somewhere that wasn't threatening to blast him full of holes.

OoC: Ah. Still working on this probably. Maybe. xD I have no idea if he should get shot yet though. I guess I'm probably gonna do it now unless you wanna get something in first.

OOC: I had to read all of that in school because my internets at home is becoming limiteed. And it's just as well only one person was in the room when I did xDD
Oh, yes. It's kind of his job at the moment. Given the choice he'd be lounging about in the sun like a scaly winged kitty or something on his homeplanet, watching his brother try to learn how to swim. But nooo. Something's come up and he's gotta pick up random kids from across the galaxy for some, ooh, obscure reason... If he's gotta play dirty then he'll play dirty, regardless of whoever her hunky friends are.
My, my. Don't delude yourself, kid - I got the figure of a twelve-year-old boy. Curves? What curves?  As my kind go, I'm just a young'un. Got some filling out to do yet. Still... I should be woman enough for you babe. ;o By rule a dog's in her early twenties at three years old. Things balance out.
I'll chuck something quick in, just to maybe move it along.

There it was again. That... drawing feeling. It was like the pull of the tide if you stood on the beach with the white foam splitting around your ankles. The soft sink of the sand under your toes. Except it wasn't just physical. Mauturi had begun to ebb quietly away in his head, like a prawn struggling about in a shallow net.

He dropped to the floor and pushed one hand under her knees and the other under her back. Without the leather coat's weight she almost flew up.

Tevereo joined his brother's side in the symmetry of the carvings. By now, a thin la[injection]yer of dust had begun to float a few millimetres above the fine trenches like a grainy, fragile mist. Hurjad cast his clear face down the silver ring around his brother's right thumb - the twin of his own.

"Make the last lines," Hurjad asked.

"Are you sure? Ces doesn't even have a ring."

"That's why I'm holding her, and it worked with the others. I wouldn't be trying this if I knew it would fail."

"Alright..."

Tevereo lifted a hand with his palm facing downward, then cast his hand aside horizontally and a corresponding line crumbled through the dirt. The air then seemed to... jump. Like he'd landed heavily in a pool of water. The dust dropped to the ground. Hurjad tightened his hold. Clenched his jaw.

OOC: Gotta go...

OoC: Baaaaah I have no idea how to make this as awesome as I feel like it needs to be. xD He's already fallen out of the sky twice in one day. What's a dumb bullet going to do other than make me want to go into silly territory and shoot him in the leg and have him go on and on about it like a huge drama queen.
"DID YOU SHOOT ME DID YOU REALLY SHOOT ME I CANT BELIEVE YOU SHOT ME AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA."
But I can't just keep putting it off that's not gonna help. If I put it off then I stop thinking about it and then it never gets done. ;c
...
Okay I think after like an hour just sitting there thinking and also Googling what it feels like to get shot I have something. xD I just. Will have to post it in the morning I'm tired aaa.

OOC: Okay, just feel like I oughtta mention this. A lawng while back, over a year ago, i had a dream that i was a spy agent thingy bouncing about John Carter style across a Tatooine-type lanet. Except one of the science teachers at school was chasing me (also wearing leather... ;_;). As we sprang about over a littel town, he shot me. But guess where.
That's right. In the leg.
Then the dream ended with me lying about all leathery and bleeding surrounded by people enjoying the sun in an outside cafe.
From what I experienced (hah), it numbs your leg near-instantly. And the bullet is really hot, kind of burning. A little scalding seed of sizzlingness just wedged in your muscle. Goddamn painful even if it was my imagination's doing xD But it was also... Enlightening.
Ohman i love my iPod Touch :D

OoC: ... Suddenly I'm glad my sister likes Star Wars so much. It means I actually know what Tatooine is. xD
Yah that's pretty much what Google told me though. Adrenaline makes it so you can't feel much at first but the heat of the bullet all sitting there being a huge troll. And various slightly different accounts. x3
Ohh. I was. Wondering why that looked so absurdly short.
Looks like our visitor a few days ago decided to stretch some pages. ;c
... Snaps, the song where Wolfwood died just started playing while I was making last minute changes what are you suggesting iPad stop that no bad.

Oh. Oh hell.

Suddenly on top of all the yelling and the panic and the chaos there was a ring of thunder. An explosion, a typhoon. Knives let go of the Doctor's twisted arm. Stumbled back a step. Two. There was a burning. A horrible burning deep in his chest. Making every breath harsh, ragged. Wasn't the familiar heat of skin turning to metal or feathers popping up like little flames, no. More like.. the dry unbearable sear of the suns balled up and buried in all this goddamn blood.

How could there even be this much blood, it was everywhere, on everything. Like sand but harder to get out of a nice outfit. Damn. His hands couldn't come close to holding it all, they were just red soaking wet, rags trying to hold up a river, a kid yelling at the wind to stop a sandstorm. Hopeless, useless, pointless.

And there was Vash, all huge eyes and panic. Like he just saw someone fall off a building or get run over by a steamer or both. He gibbered something about missing. He did it wrong he got distracted it wasn't right. Stupid goddamn if this was a miss then that was a puppy, an adorable puppy that just happened to be made of lead stop standing there staring shaking pathetic you dumbass oh god there was the pain the flood of it someone was ramming him through the chest with a dagger pouring liquid fire all over his insides he could hardly even breathe it wouldn't stop it wouldn't stop.

Knives hit the ground before the gun did.

A panicked shout, and Vash was at his side like lightning.

OOC: Aw c'mon. I was wondering why the page was so broad. :x Whatcanwedoooo.
I'll try to make a quick post while I'm allowed on, but may I just say - you succeeded in making that post epic. You can really build up some tension, my beloved dinosaur. Bravo. <3

Well, this put a whole new meaning to the phrase, "it all happened so fast". Fast was an understatement.

The Doctor didn't even have time to see Shade swing to the ground in a pained heap before his arm had been viciously manipulated by the same hand that had spurned her away. As the screwdriver clattered to the floor, unlit and silent, he was able to manage an anguished grimace, a hurt grunt - and that was it. He was... helpless. And suddenly quite terrified.

Behind Knives he saw Shade wring her own hand around her neck, reassuring the strained skin, with the gun inches from her knee. Then she turned. Saw Knives. Reached for the pistol. Rounded on the Plant with empty eyes.

That's when his chest opened up like a wet, red flower and he staggered back, clutching the scarlet hole that was seeping richly downwards. The only warmth the Plant ever had in him.

The Doctor backed away crazily, so hard and so fast his ankles decided to conjoin and he fell flat on his back - hard. Hot little pinpricks dotted his face, his suit, his hair, and his lungs felt beaten empty.

But he ignored the gore and the deafness. Stared, transfixed, at Knives. Then there was another gush of red and Vash was there, followed by a heavy, hollow, metallic clatter. Shade's ex
pression mirrored the Doctor's. Confused. Horrified. Relieved.

"Vash... No, stop, stop... he could bleed to death..." He staggered to his knees and crawled to the twins, not even considering wiping his gleaming spotted face clear. He neared Knives. "Where did... where did you hit?"

OoC: Whoo~ xD Mission accomplished. I. I kind of keep wanting to tweak the pacing in places but gosh darn it I've spent almost all day doing that it doesn't matter that much.
Well. I guess if it's that bad we could send in a ticket about it? I'm pretty sure if staff is notified of a stretchy signature they'll change it.
Also wait what I thought I fixed the funky spacing in that one post up there. I. Man I'll have to do that again I guess. Maybe it didn't go through or something.

So like. We're writing essays in English at the moment, and I've got a friend in class who's doing part of hers as a story. Guy in the civil war and all.
And you know what.
In order to make a point about how they didn't have anesthesia and had to do amputations without it.
She's going to have his brother.
Shoot him.

OOC: Excellent. RR needed to lose some weight. Being fat never suited him. Her. It
It's bad enough I think of my characters as real people, now I'm imagining the thread they run around in is an entity. 8(
Maybe she's been stalking this thread and just. Knows. Because that is a really, really awesome coincidence xD

"What the-"

It ripped through the dark and stretched across the desert like a thunderclap. It took Hurjad a moment to remember what the noise was - up in the sky, it hadn't felt like a storm was imminent at all. No veins of white flickered on the horizon. No bite in the air. Then it sped up on him like the noise, that memory, of Ces' crew waving those... guns around. Hurjad blinked.

He wasn't scared of a lot - a lot tended to be scared of him - but those ominous little weapons put him on edge, right at the precipice of fear, hanging out over the chasm of uncertainty. They bellowed out seeds of anguish faster than you could see, that tore through bone and muscle, that grew roots of red that ran down your chest or your neck or your leg and bloomed like scarlet flowers across your clothes. Weeds, happy to grow anywhere.

They'd only had time to snap their heads around like startled deer before Tevereo's line met the point of the Burrow's mark, and the ground gave a jump. Of course it didn't actually move. But it felt like it, under their feet. The whole of Gunsmoke seemed to shrink. The stars looked like they were flexing, expanding, exploding. Or were their eyes just growing narrower?

Then the world flashed green and he thudded against something... jaw-juttingly hard. He was lying on the ground, on his back, looking up at the blue sky, with grass tickling his ears. The planet Theslern was bonded to hung in the sky like a cloudy bauble, half-lit by their sun, and another moon hovered on the opposite end of the sky, still never any closer to escape. Light stretched out everywhere, splashing colour across the forest of his homeplanet. No more stars now.

He turned his head. Tevereo was lying a few feet away with his bright hair tousled, a little flushed but still in one annoying, streamlined piece. Except, his eyes were frantic. Then Hurjad realized his arms were empty.

He sat up but the world decided to swivel itself around him, make the trees jump about. He touched his chest with his hands as if trying to catch an eel. Then he sighed angrily and reclined into the rolling stalks of lime.

"Toldya," came a quiet, hesitant murmur from somewhere on his left.

-

On Gunsmoke, there was just the darkness, the glyphs all scratched out and ruined, and Ces' silver coat, sitting in the wash of the moons, growing colder. There wasn't a noise or a shout of thunder to reply to Vash's gunshot. Not even a questionable shimmer of the air, or a tendril of smoke casually unravelling upwards in the windless dark like a wispy ribbon.

Suddenly Vash was mad for some reason. He was like really mad. He was so mad his hair exploded off his head and suddenly he was bald but then more hair grew back in its place and it looked even more awesome than before. He was so mad his shoes just popped off and ran away. They were scared of him.

"IM TIRED OF YOU, YOU LOSERS. CAN'T YOU LEARN TO FIGHT AND NOT FALL ON YOUR BUTTS. STUPIDS. YOU NEED TO BE MORE MANLY LIKE ME OKAY. THAT'S WHAT CHICKS DIG."

Then his robot hand turned into a lasergun and he zapped everybody and then they were dead and he walked over to the control panel and zapped it. It showed a picture of Ces lying in some grass. She was super sexy.

"IM COMIN FOR YA BABE."

And then he teleported there and punched those lameface brothers in the, uh.. face. They died instantly. He picked Ces up and told her a dramatic speech and she woke up and said I love you Vash oh youre my hero and they smooched it up for like a year straight because they're immortal they have time to do that.

The end.

OoC: ... Why do I find it so adorable that you say full stops.
Miss Davies, you are absolutely kawaii.

"I know that, I-" The Plant's voice was weak, breathless. A starving shivery injured little (anime) animal. No, no, god no this wasn't how it was supposed to happen, this wasn't right. It was supposed to be an arm, a leg, a complete miss even - just not this. Anything but this. "I know he- I know he could." Damn, did that look bad. Really bad. Vash ripped the bloody cloth open some more, fingers frantic and trembly and already covered in feathers. "I think it went.. went through one of his lungs, he's not breathing right and I think the bullet's still in there and-"

Suddenly a piercing violent cough ripped away, an aching creeping horrible pain there was practically a hot iron setting Vash's ribs ablaze (wITH PASSION). It took a minute to quiet down and even then he still couldn't get a good breath in without it trying to force its way out again. He let out a jagged painful sigh. Knives sure as heck knew how to make a big deal out of things, even if he was unconscious. "I hope an- any nearby towns have some backup generators. They're gonna be having a hard time with their Plants right about now. I.. god, I've gotta fix this, I have to help-"

Another coughing fit. Ugh. Fine. He fell silent, started rummaging through his pockets like there was no tomorrow. Well, there might not be one for Knives if he didn't do something fast. All this blood already it was so everywhere and there was just more coming the whole time. No. No he shook his head, kept searching. Where did they get off to? Wadded up papers and bullet casings and bits of sand and old crumbly things that probably used to be donuts.. No, no, dammit no. Where were they, where were they?

"Oh c'mon, where did I put my bandages? They're not.." He paused, looked around aimlessly. Wait. Wait, the Doctor. His eyes implored the Time Lord, good god please help please Vash couldn't handle this by himself not this time.
