((Ugh at our school we have to sit in the bleachers and we can't run around :( so I'm boycotting the games from now on))
The day passed very slowly, but it was worth it. Amber quickly pushed in her chair and ran out the door. She scurried down the hallway and saw Cassie at her locker. Amber smiled enthusiastically and came to a stop at her locker. She said "Hi! I just have to put my books away, then we can go!"

Cassie looked up in surprise. A grin slowly spread across her face. "Great! I'll call my dad and tell him." She pulled out her cell phone, an AT&T LG, and called a number. Within a few moments, shouting could be heard over the line. Cassie's face darkened. "Yeah... no, I- ... No, Dad, I... Dad, I'm going to a friend's house... No, I don't... Dad, will you just... BYE!" With an angry sound that sounded almost like a growl, Cassie hung up the phone and punched her locker with her free hand, then leaned her forehead against her fist. "I hate him," she muttered angrily, tears welling up in her eyes.

Amber jumped when Cassie hit her locker with her fist. She saw Cassie's eyes welling up and she was surprised. He's that bad? She rubbed Cassie's back and quietly said "Wanna go?"

Cassie tensed almost imperceptibly at the touch. She straightened and nodded, attempting to give Amber a weak smile. "Sure."
((Fail post. Dx Rain makes me sleepy, and it's been raining here all day. My brain doesn't like to function when I'm sleepy. xD))

Amber noticed Cassie tense at her touch. She brought her hand down and said "K! Let's go then." Amber led Cassie out the school and said "I live less than a mile away, so we'll walk." Amber looked at Cassie, and studied her. She was gorgeous. Amber wondered why guys never talked to her.

Cassie grinned. "I always have to walk to school anyways, about five miles. My dad refuses to let me get my licence, and he won't drive me to school himself. He probably thinks I would just skip town and never get in touch with him again. Which I probably would," she added as an afterthought.

Amber was surprised. "Really?" She said as they walked slowly. "Man, that sucks." Amber's phone vibrated and she looked at Cassie, questioning if she should answer it.

"Oh." Amber frowned. She then remembered her ringing phone. She picked peeled it out of her pocket. Pressing the answer button she put the phone up to her ear. "Hello?" It was Amber's best friend, Christian. "Whats up?" "Nothing really." "Oh, well wanna hang out?" Amber continued talking and said "Actually I'm hanging out with someone." "Well you just said you were doing nothing." "I know, I know. Sorry, but I gotta go." She heard him sigh over the phone. "Well bye babe." Amber giggled, she loved how affectionate he was. "Bye." She flipped her phone shut and smiled at Cassie. "Sorry about that."
