Crystal was taking a stroll in the park, feeling lonesome.  She stopped on the way to sniff some flowers, hoping it would make her not so sad, but it didn't work.  She glanced at a few people who appeared to be going crazy.  Whats up with them? She thought.  Then suddenly they charged at her, and tried to bite her neck.  Crystal screamed in terror, and tried to push them away. 

Ren had been walking down the pavement, his hands in his pockets, his shoes lightly tapping against the cold ground. Hearing cries, desperate cries for help, he was brought back to a memory, seeing a vision of his family crying for help. He hadn't seen it happening to them, but it happened quite often with the bloodthirsty vampires these days. They had such a greed for the taste of humans, which made him sick. He was once a human. Weren't they at one time as well? It was only after the vision faded that he'd realized it was real, not just things he was hearing. Racing down the sidewalk, he noticed crouched over a helpless human, a group of vampires.

Rolling his eyes, he ran over, beating them up and pushing them aside. He'd been slightly wounded, but managed to fight them off. Sighing, he turned down to the human, appearing to be just a girl. He could feel her fear, and gently grabbed her, helping her up. Fighting off vampires had become a hobby of his. Honestly, it was getting quite old. Turning his attention back to her, he sent he a glance, as if trying to be of some comfort. Though he disagreed with feeding on humans, the blood trickling down her neck was a little tempting. He shook it off, wiping it away for her.

"Are you all right?" He asked in his ice cold voice. It was rarely that he spoke, especially to humans, being he came out at night most of the time, when humans were usually out. He gripped her arms more tightly, ensuring that she wouldn't p*censored* out or anything like that. 

"I'm alright." Crystal said.  "But only because you saved me.  Thank you so much." She wished that she could show him how grateful she was, but she didn't have anything valuable with her right now.  And she couldn't believe what had just happened.  She thought vampires didn't exist, and that the stories about them were just legends.  But now she knew that they were real.  She would rather have not known that they were real, because now that she knows, she'll probably get scared when she is outside, and won't feel so safe in her home. 

Ren stared at her for a couple of moments. In all the stories he'd read, it mentioned that vampires didn't have emotions or feelings. But maybe that wasn't true, being he felt sadness all the time. Anyway, those were just the stories "he" read, and that probably wasn't many.

"It's dangerous out at dark where we are. Why were you wandering around this late?" He couldn't help asking. "They could have..." his words faded, "nevermind." He spoke in a faint voice.

His golden brown eyes focused on her, taking in every detail. It was hard to resist the urge to attack her, like they had just done, however, if he did to her, or to anyone, he'd eventually regret it, and possibly take just a little too much. There was the strong stench of blood, and he was getting a sick to the stomach feeling trying to ignore it.

Ren began to take a couple steps back. He could feel his fangs popping out of his mouth, and turned, so she wouldn't be able to see them.

"My name is Ren. I should go, and you should too... if you want to stay alive." he would have enjoyed a good conversation with a random human at the moment, but the stench was too much for him to bear; he had to get out of the place. Gasping for air as he quickly reached a random alley in the city, he tried to return to the way he was, as human as he "appeared" before. 

Coughing, his pulse slowed down, his heart stopped racing, and he was back to the cold-hearted freak he once was. Crystal was her name. He hoped she would be all right for the time being.

Crystal, slightly shocked by his actions, went back home, looking around to make sure there were no vampires to attack her.  She went to her house, and went into her bed, thinking about the incident with the vampires.  It scared her, and she had trouble sleeping.

When she managed to fall asleep, she had a dream about Ren.  She was at the same park at night again, and Ren appeared.  She ran up to him and they began to talk about how they missed each other.  Then he smiled a devilish smile, and grabbed her trying to bite her neck.

Crystal screamed and sat up, looking around.  It was just a dream.  She thought, relieved that it wasn't real.  She lay down again, and fell asleep not too easily.  This time her dream was different and not scary. 

Ren blinked, trying to forget what he'd just seen. The vampires. The blood. It made him feel like he would vomit even thinking about it. Sighing, he looked up at the moon, outlined in gold, as was everything else. That was oddly how a vampire's vision was; everything was bright, clear as crystal at all times. It was convenient, however, he missed his old life very much, and would have been a human over a bloodsucking monster any day.

Mainly, it sucked being what he was. And being what he was, there were a whole lot more "missing animals" posters hanging up in town lately. He didn't tolerate feeding off humans, which is why he ran from Crystal, but because of this, there were many ore dead cats and dogs lying around the streets.
