Zane held in a frown as Zera pulled her hand away from him. That feeling was quickly replaced by something much more joyous as she put that same hand on his good arm. Not knowing what to really do with his free hand, the man lightly put it on the higher side of her waist.
"I'm not sorry to have waited," Zaniell said, his eyes still closed. "I would have waited another 100 years to hear you, and only you, say that." Zane opened his eyes and pulled his head back a few inches. He looked down into her slate colored eyes. He was beginning to realize how much he loved that color.
Zane's eyes flashed down to Zera's lip, which she was currently biting. A tiny smile played on his lips as he watched her. He bit his lip when he was nervous. He wondered if it was the same for her.
"You really shouldn't do that, Princess," Zane commented softly, looking down at her lips once more. He, of course, was referring to the lip biting comment. Hypocrite. |

Zera felt her cheeks regain a bit of their pinkish color when she felt Zaniell place his hand on her waist. She felt herself blush even more at Zane's words. Who would've known that a vampire could turn Zera into some blushing girl? Nobody, except for Zera herself. She didn't lose eye contact, though. No. She wouldn't lose that, unless he looked away.
She frowned when he pulled away from her a few inches, but she wasn't too upset, seeing as how he had previously set his hand on her waist, and said some words that she really liked hearing.
She furrowed her brows when he spoke to her about biting her lip. She stopped biting her lip, and pursed them instead. "You do it all the time," she said, her voice calm, and still somehow serious. "It's just like when I purse my lips."

Zane smiled when she pursed her lips. Damn her. She was mocking him, practically begging for a kiss... Even if it was a quick peck. Well, that's what the man was telling himself. He just wanted to kiss the girl, and it was the best excuse that he could think of at the moment.
Zane leaned close to the Princess, close enough to feel the her breath on his skin. "The difference of the two, Zera," Zane said, a crooked grin on his lips, "is pursed lips are so much better for this."
With that, Zane leaned down, shut his eyes and closed the last inch or so between them. He felt the Princess' delicate lips under his own. It wasn't a hard kiss, nor too forcing. He didn't know if Zera would push him away, or pull him closer, if she wished. But man, did he wish that she would do the latter. |

Zera felt a cold sweat bead on the back of her neck as Zaniell's face came so close to her own that she could feel his breath on her face. She felt her heartbeat pick up, and she was afraid that the organ would jump straight out of her throat, and carry her somewhere she didn't want to go. She swallowed the lump in her throat, and managed to catch Zaniell's words.
The difference of the two, Zera, is pursed lips are so much better for this.
No sooner had Zera began to wonder what 'this' was, than when she found Zane's lips on hers. It was a soft, gentle kiss, but it was a kiss. And it made her heart beat faster, and breathing much harder. Her muscles had tensed up when he first kissed her, but after a second or two, she relaxed, and melted into the kiss.
She angled her head to the side to make it easier, and, before she could realize just what she was doing, she placed her hands on his biceps and tugged him closer, careful not to hurt his wound, wanting to get up to his level so that she didn't have tocrane her neck, and so that he didn't have to angle his head downward.

Zane found his previously loose grip on the Princess' waist had considerably tightened. Partly because she had kissed him back, the other part because he could feel her pulse quicken under his palm. He loosened his grip again, being careful with every action as to not hurt her. This is why it was dangerous for them. If Zane made one wrong move and lost control, she could get extremely hurt.
Zane parted his closed lips slightly as he kissed Zera. He felt her tug him closer, which he did so willingly. He moved his injured arm to the other side of her waist, removing his good arm. With his now free arm, he moved his hand to the back of Zera's neck. Her braided hair tickled his arm as he did so, nearly causing him to smile.
The vampire very cautiously, and gently bit Zera's lower lip, careful not to bite hard enough to hurt her. He knew he'd have to break this off soon, the kissing thing. He was dangerous, and she was frail. He was the bull and she was the china shop. A disaster waiting to happen. But for now, Zane was finally living in the moment.

Zera wasn't sure exactly what she was doing, but she was reacting purely on instinct in that moment. She moved her hands from his biceps to lace around his neck as he readjusted his arms, too. No space left between them. None.
She had kept her lips closed until she felt Zaniell's teeth close around her lower lip, causing her to relax a bit more. Her lips parted and she could only hear the babbling of the stream, the noises of their lips coming together and separating, and their heavy breathing.
She clutched some of the hair on the back of Zane's head in her hands, wanting to grab onto something. She didn't open her eyes. She didn't want to see his wound, or the bandages. If she opened her eyes for anything in that moment, it would've been because she wanted to look into Zaniell's. And, as much as she wanted to in that moment, it would've made her cross-eyed.

Zane could feel his lips on hers, his body against hers, their limbs entwined. It was as if all his senses were heightened at that moment, but all were focused on Zera. He couldn't even hear the stream which rested only 4ft away. His whole being was concentrated on Zera.
A low moan escaped Zane's lips when Zera grabbed his hair. He pulled away from her reluctantly, trying to catch his breath. He pulled his hands from her neck and waist and put them at his sides. If they had gone any further, the vampire might have lost control.
"Sorry love, but I think we need to stop," Zane told the girl with a sigh. He obviously didn't like the decision he was making, but it was for the best. He bent down and kissed the tip of her nose. He moved his lips from her nose to her ear. "To be continued?" |

Zera frowned when Zane pulled away from her. He took his hands off of her, and tried to catch his breath. She needed to catch hers as well, but she wished that breathing wasn't a necessary requirement to live in that moment. It would've been great if they hadn't pulled away to catch their breath.
The truth was that they did need to stop. She completely agreed with Zaniell. She needed for that kiss to have just been a kiss, but if they would've kept going at that pace, it would've turned into more than a kiss, Zera guessed, reluctantly letting go of Zane's hair and placing her hands at her sides.
She smiled when he kissed her nose, blushing happily. "To be continued," she said definitively. She placed a short kiss on his cheek, and wondered if it was more difficult for him to hold himself back. He'd crushed all of those men easily, killed them due to an impulse. Would he be able to kill her, if his love got out of control?
Those questions would be saved for later, she decided.

Zane grinned like a goof when Zera responded with just what he wanted to hear. He kissed her neck, right below her ear in response to the small kiss on his cheek. He pulled his head away frowning. She didn't smell like... Anything. He felt her pulse, but no scent. That was new, and odd.
"Hmm, let's go," Zaniell finally said, bending down and picking up his cloak from the ground. He brushed off the dirt that littered the old cloak here and there. He smiled sheepishly at Zera, surprised that he was suddenly feeling shy around her. That, like his lack of smell, was new.
Reaching for her hand, Zane raised his one eyebrow at the girl. "Do you mind if we...?" He motioned to his hand, which was now reaching for her own.

Zera smiled when Zaniell placed a kiss below her ear. She was still mystified by the fact that the wound didn't heal, and she wondered if there was some way to make it heal. Questions floated in her head as she watched her vampire pick up his cloak, slipping it over himself, still shirtless. She didn't mind, though.
Her eyes traveled to his as he asked her an unfinished question, and gestured to his hand. Zera lowered her gaze to where he had gestured, and she grinned. Did she mind? Ha! Did she mind! She slid her fingers through his, clasping her smaller, softer palm against his rougher, larger one.
"I don't mind, Zaniell." She gave his hand a light squeeze before moving towards the horse. "Would you like me to direct the beast, or are you well enough now to do it on your own?"

Zane grinned down at the girl as they held hands. It was amazing that such a simple gesture could make the man smile. Even more amazing that it made him almost as happy as when he kissed the girl. Though, he still had to watch himself, even when just holding hands. Unfortunately, the vampire would have to be in control all the time now when he was with the Princess.
Zane snorted at her word choice. "Beast? Princess, please. This animal is a high quality steed! Please don't insult the poor thing." He looked down at the girl and gave her a crooked grin, to let her know that he was just teasing.
"I think I'll be able to direct Bear," Zane finally said after a moment of debate. They had reached the horse. The vampire reluctantly released Zera's hand, but not before kissing her knuckles lightly first. With a barely noticeable wince, he climbed up the horse and sat in the saddle, leaving enough room for Zera to sit behind him. |

Zera smiled as he kissed her knuckles. She didn't enjoy that he had to let go of her hand, but it had to be done. She admired him for his strength. Even when he wa injured, Zaniell could still manage to do strenuous things. She hopped up onto the horse after him.
After settling herself, Zera laced her arms around Zaniell and rested her head on his back. She could feel the warmth coming from him, and it made her grin. She inhaled, the unmistakeable smell of Zaniell climbing it's way into her nose.
"There are many words that you can use to describe a beast." The princess muzzled his back. "Noble, loyal, majestic." She paused, a smirk spreading onto her lips. "Sexy..." She trailed her fingers up his chest.

Zane grinned as Zera wrapped her arms around him. It was a nice feeling, to know that she was relying on him instead of the other way around. And, that's the way he thought it should be. Man, protecting his woman. Or, in Zaniell's case, Vampire protecting his Princess. What an odd predicament they were in.
Zane grinned as Zera called him sexy. Please, tell him something he didn't know. Granted, it was nice to hear it. Especially from someone as attractive and entrancing as Zera. He shivered as the girl trailed her finger across his bare chest. The good kind of shivers, that is. With the hand not holding the reigns, Zaniell grabbed her trailing fingers with his own.
"You don't know what you do to me, Zera," He finally said after a shaky breath. |

Zera grinned as she felt Zane's strong muscles ripple under her touch in a shiver. She hadn't made it very far down her captor's chest than when she felt his fingers close around hers, stopping her from continuing. What a shame... She was starting to have fun.
The princess sighed and smirked at what Zane said. She giggled, and then raised her head so that her chin sat on his shoulder, though their height difference made that a bit difficult for the slate-eyed girl.
"Oh, I have a pretty good idea, Zaniell," she whispered. She moved her other hand so that she traced circles around one of his upper abdominal muscles.

Zane bit his lip as Zera whispered into his ear. No. He didn't think she had a clue what she did to him. Otherwise, she would stop taunting him with the little touches. He released his grasp on her hand and put it back on the reigns and tightened his grip, the same grip that could have broken the girl's fingers.
Zane shook his head gently as she started tracing circles on his stomach. Another shiver. He turned his head slightly so he could look at Zera from the corner of his eye. A small grin played on his lips as he did so. It was amazing what one little look or touch could do to a man. Especially Zaniell.
"You're the devil," He muttered, though he was still smiling. "But I wouldn't have you any other way." |

Zera was glad that Zane let her hand go. She wrapped her free hand back around him and grinned again whe Zane shivered. It was amazing what she could cause him to do. Just a small tough on his bare torso would cause him to shiver an shudder. She stopped what she was doing when he spoke.
So she was the devil? She was sure Zane meant it in a non-offensive way. Her lips curled into a soft smile as she lowered her chin from his shoulder and put her cheek against his back. She sighed and began to trace circles on Zane's stomach again.
She chewed on the inside of her cheek. "Does it really bother you that much?" She wondered exactly where they were going now. Were they still going to go get rid of the strange electric feeling?

Zera's question surprised Zane. He hadn't meant it in the bad way and felt bad that he said it.
"It doesn't bother me at all, love," Zane said softly back to Zera. He reached back and placed his hand on the girl's leg. "I didn't mean to offend you. I just meant you are temptation in its purest form."
Well, wasn't that the truth, Zane thought, glancing down at Zera's hand which was tracing circles on his stomach again. He grinned and patted her leg gently for reassurance before pulling it back. Temptation? You could say Zane was tempted. He bit his lip as they rode on. He wanted to get there as soon as they could, but at the same time, he wanted the journey last as long as possible. Well, he always did want the impossible. |

Zera smiled when Zane said that it didn't bother him. Nonetheless, she thought she would save the torture for later; therefore, she stopped circling his muscles and simply let her arms rest around Zaniell. She sighed and closed her eyes. He had called her love, and she enjoyed it quite a bit.
She could only hear the sound of her captor's breathing, due to her head being on his back, and the soft clipping of the horse's hooves. Her eyes opened as she decided to ask the question that had been bothering her.
"Zaniell, is there some way that your wound can heal faster?"

Zaniell was thankful when Zera stopped tracing circles on his skin. As much as he liked it, on a horse wasn't the time or place. He looked down, thinking that he should put a shirt on. It was still sunny, and the more his skin was exposed, the weaker he became. But, he really just didn't want to put a shirt on.
Zera's question caught the man off guard. He chewed on the inside of his cheek before answering her.
"I suppose feeding would make me heal faster, but otherwise, I don't really know of another way. I'm fine with healing slowly though. Why do you ask?" |
