Parker hopped out of the hummer,as usually everything was much bigger than her. She grabbed her cross bow and a few arrows. She stretched her back taking in the view. She noted mesquite trees, and the faint hint of cow manure as she inhaled. "At least Oklahoma by now?" she took a stab at guessing. She looked at Krys, popping her knuckles as she walked, it felt good to stretch her legs again. She heard movement in some bushes nearby, and swumg her bow towards the noise. She about loosed an arrow when a rather fat jackrabbit hopped out to peer at them curiously. "Not cool dude." Parker lifter her finger from the trigger. "Well that will keep me on my toes." she looked to Krys with an unamused glare.

Dev saw the girl looking into her eyes and wondered what she was thinking. Dev knew she was easy to read but it stopped bothering her a long time ago. Pulling out a chair she sat down and sat on her foot as well. A position that Dev found comfy until the feeling of pins and needles came switches to the other foot. "I'm sure you two have already introduce yourselves to each other so I'll introduce myself. My name is Dev Starfire and I am the leader and co-founder of this organization we have here." Dev shifted. "Now, what name belongs to your pretty face." Dev chuckled.

Krystal rolled her eyes as Parker spoke, "Yeah, we're getting pretty close thanks to this expert engine you rebuilt" she commented stretching everything possible, she always hated long rides but loved the relief of getting out and walking around. Suddenly Kaz perked up and was watching the jackrabbit Parker had found, and Krystal found herself wondering if she wanted to see Kaz chase it or not.

Echo watched the leader with slightly narrowed eyes, 'Dev Starfire...' she thought silently before leaning against the wall behind her. "Echo Heart" she started before continuing in a lower voice barely audible, "Not that you didn't already know that". Clearing her throat, Echo watched for Dev's emotions glancing at Xander every now and then, "Co-founder eh? Who's the other?" she asked cracking her knuckles then switching her weight onto her other leg.

"Awww ..no Krys dont.." Parked whined knowing that look Krys got in her eyes. "He didnt make me that mad, its cool we're buddies right Mr.Rabbit?" She looked at the brown Jack like he would answer her. What did she expect a response? Parker wound her way through some of the bush before she brushed some dried vines off a tin sign stuck in the ground. "Haha Oklahoma state landmark." she rapped the metal and waggled her eyebrows. " I mean when your this good.." her sentence trailed off. She walked back to the Hummer and pulled out a bottle of water from an ice chest. "You guys thirsty?" she offered.

Dev rubbed her neck nervously. She knew she was being read like a book but that just made her so uncomfortable. Something about her constant gaze just made her feel stressed. Dev realized she had spent too much time thinking and hadn't answered the question. "The other is Krystal Starlis. You will be able to meet her soon actually. You see me and her met before we even thought about this place. With that being said there's another general other than Xander here. That would be Parker Mintz, a fine gal." Dev felt like she was talking too much and giving out too much information. "Anything else you would like to know?" Dev asked.

Xander watched Echo's reactions to the things Dev was explaining. She seemed surprised by it all, eager almost. Was she eager to be a part of it, or to bring it down? Suddenly she didn't seem as untrustworthy as before though; was it because she was being herself? She'd tried to disguise her voice earlier, perhaps she was skilled at acting the part of an alias. Though it could easily mean this was just another ruse.
He gave up trying to figure it out, no longer caring whether she could be trusted or not. Xander knew what he was here for, and if Echo was really here to stop them, he'd like to see her try. And if not, then she would make a good addition to the team. Xander's face showed the slightest hint of a satisfied smile at the thought of a trusted new team member that faded quickly when he realized what he was doing.

Krystal gave a small snicker before snapping her fingers and waving at Kaz to come over, after he did so she walked over to the hummer where Parker was and leaned against it. "No I'm good" she started then looked down at Kaz who looked desperate for water, "I think Kaz could use a drink though" she crouched down and ruffled his scruff then awkwardly jumped back up into a straight standing position when he licked her.

Echo memorized the information, taking notes on everything she was being told. Then holding back some thoughts she just shook her head "No" she said then looked back at Xander who seemed to be hiding a reaction of sorts, 'you people are hilarious, hiding what you can' she laughed silently in her head.

Dev thought for a moment. "Well, okay then. I'm sure your going to need to get some stuff so you can settle in hear." Dev stood up and looked at Xander. 'I get the feeling he can't stand Echo. I wouldn't want to torture him by giving her tour of the place' Dev thought. "First I'll show you around the base and then we can go out and get your things. Sound like a plan?" Dev asked.

Xander was relieved that Dev took the job of showing Echo around, but he didn't like the idea of not being able to keep an eye on her himself. He thought about his options here, pondering giving the tour in Dev's stead. After silently making a decision though, he waited for Echo to respond to Dev's offer.

Xander noticed Echo watching him from the corner of her eye. Come to think of it, she'd been watching him the entire time since she'd seen him. He had to wonder if it was mistrust or if she was still wondering what he was hiding under his emotionless gaze.

Dev took Echo through each part of the base. The base has three levels. The main level is where all the members gather in the morning and get food. The second level is the training room, strategy room, and mission control. The computer room Echo was found in is used for work. There is another for recreational uses. Most members of the base liked to play Rescreatu and other pet sites.
On the third level is weapons, vehicles, and where most of their important information is stored. No one really knows what's in there except Dev and only Dev. No one but Xander and members of the other base are allowed on the third level but can't go into the information center except for occasionally Krystal. It's rare for Dev to let Krystal in there .
Just as Dev finished showing Echo around her ferret Rosalya came scurrying onto her shoulder. Dev petted her. "So know you the base inside and out. Let go get your things." Dev said. |

After following the two from afar for a while, Xander decided there probably wasn't any reason to worry about Dev, and Echo didn't seem like all that much to worry about at the moment.
Since he'd been interrupted before, he figured he should start his perimeter check outside. Walking through the many hallways once again, he headed towards the main entrance.

Parker laughed as she grabbed some bottled waters,and a dog bowl from inside the hummer. Everything was kept nice and cool in a temperature controlled cooler, top of the line of course. Parker spared nothing when it came to their equipment. "Of course Kaz would like a drink huh boy?" she called to him as she filled his bowl. "Its pretty humid out here to be honest,"she called to Krystal. She wiped her brow on her shirt sleeve, and stuck a hand over her eyes as she looked in Krystals direction.She herself then grabbed a water and drank at least half of it. She paced around the vehicle kicking at the red clay dirt, and weeds that covered the ground. It had been pretty quiet in this spot,so she walked around giving her lefs a good stretch. "I cant wait to see Dev, I wonder if she missed us, and I got present for them too." she went on chattering a bit walking around the car in laps. Finally she stopped "You ready to switch out or you good?"

Krystal looked up to the sky to see where the sun was sitting, it looked about mid day, then wiping her forehead she opened the back door of the Hummer and called Kaz in. "Actually I have something to work on if you don't mind driving till the next pitstop" She watched Parker with squinted eyes, trying to avoid the sun as much as she could then grabbed her backpack from the backseat before closing the door, trapping Kaz inside.

Echo had looked around a noted everything as they went throughout the base, grabbing the hard drive from the computer she had broken into when they were in the computer room. Once they had gotten to the end Echo watched the ferret climb up to Dev's shoulder and gave a silent hiss to it. She stretched out before turning around to walk out and get her bag which was sitting under her bike, "Are you following or shall I get it myself?" she asked stopping for a moment.

"Of course" she said excitedly patting the fender lovingly. She was proud of her handiwork. She packed away the cooler items and was wiping off kaz's bowl as Krystal was getting her things. She finished up tossing some paper towels into a bin, and walked over to Krystal to collect the keys. She held out the palm of her hand to receive them.

As Xander pushed the door open, he squinted when the sun hit his eyes. Heading off to the left of the building, Xander looked around as best he could, making sure there was nothing out of the ordinary. Of course, he was pretty sure that when they were warned about an intruder earlier, it had just been Echo.

"Thanks" Krystal said before dropping the keys into Parker's hand. Then she walked over and got into the Hummer, taking out her notebook and pencil and began to write.
~Echo Heart~
Echo gave a slight grin then dashed off quick as lightning into the tree-covered area, quickly finding the rock she had put her stuff behind and picking it all up. She threw her bag over her shoulder then hopped on her bike and looked around, taking a breather for a minuet.

Dev sighed and ran after Echo. Dev muttered curses under her breath. She went through a tree covered area and saw Echo bike looking around. "Hey! This isn't funny! Get back here right now!" Dev yelled. Dev was seconds away from calling Xander to snipe Echo.
