Nike tapped his pencil on the desk, watching the clock tick. He didn't pay attention to his teacher much, but caught a few things. Pen...letters...contact...He sighed.

Addison sighed, as she listened to the teacher. They were talking about the penpals. Great... Addison thought. She already had enough people in her life, she didn't need more. Oh wait! No one was in her life, and she liked it that way. She stared at the paper, with the address to her penpal and the name 'Nike', and she slid in her seat. Great.. Was all she could think.

Nike was almost asleep when the teacher tapped a dictionary on his head(I know my wording is weird...). He shot straight up in his seat and almost fell out of his chair. A few people snickered, but he ignored them. "Mister Chase(LOLOL fail last name. xD), are you with us today?" She asked. "I told the clas.s, we're as.signing pen-pals." She handed Nike a piece of paper and he took it with hesitation. It read, in a sc

He sighed and flipped it over, then started writing his first letter, and the students that were surrounding him were doing the same.

Addison stared at the paper a little more, before writing her first letter. What was she supposed to write? She didn't even know the guy. All she knew was that his name was 'Nike', he lived on the other side of the state, and that they were the same age. Frowning, she got a piece of paper, and stared at the blank lines. The teacher put up a 'Format' on how they were supposed to make it look. Saying 'Dear____' and how to start the sentences, and then ending with 'Sincerely, your penpal _______'. Addison shook her head. What were they? 1st graders? She'd rather go her own way.

Hey Nike,

Hi. I'm Addison. Unforturnate enough for you, I'm going to be your penpal...Great right? Anyways, I guess I'm happy that your going to be my penpal for the year, and apparently were going to have to get too know one another, and the teacher said, we have to describe ourselves and so on...So I am about your age I think...And I go to Oliver Beach High School. In East California. I'm guessing you know that much. I have purple hair (Don't laugh...Its genetic, and I hate it too.), and I'm quite ...tiny. But I am also able to beat you up, if you even try to be rude to me. I'm pretty smart I guess, and I draw too much on my free time.

Nike sighed and scribbled down a few sentences. His handwriting was also barely legible, but in a really messy kind of way. He was diagnosed with dyslexia, of course.

I'm Nike. I'm a dyslexic seventeen-year-old who goes to Mary Sue's Academy for troubled teens. You could say I'm troubled, yeah, but I can't change it. I don't know what to write in these stupid introduction letters, so let's start the convo we're supposed to do.

He re-read it with hesitation. It was good enough, he guessed. He handed it off to the teacher, who was going to be mailing them off for free, and walked back to his desk, resuming staring at the clock.

After Addison got up, and gave the teacher her letter, she sat back down, and stared at the clock.

The next morning, AFTER SCHOOL, Addison walked home. At first, she chose not to check the mail. It's not like, she liked this whole 'pen pal' thing. Why should she even follow the rules, and read the letter? Why don't she just ignore all of it, and lie and say she's been doing it? Sighing, at the fate of her horrible lieing skills, she lazily walked to the mail box. Seeing that there was a letter from 'Nike, Your penpal', she frowned, and grabbed it. Then walked inside as she opened it.
