I opened my eyes, rolling out of my bed, my legs tangled up in my sheets, which caused me to face-plant with the floor. I let out a groan, lifting myself up tiredly, still half asleep. Wondering why I was even up in the first place, I remembered that I was going to Paradise's house today. A grin stretched across my face, as I suddenly seemed to feel more awake. Excitement seemed to always do this to you.

Quickly changing and mainly making sure my hair wasn't covering my eyes, I grabbed my keys, leaving an unspecific note for Francis, before grabbing a bag of pop tarts and skipping out of the house, with a merry song stuck in my head, which I couldn't help but hum to myself. Shoving a pop tart halfway into my mouth as I reached for my bicycle, I hopped on, beginning to pedal in the direction I remembered her house to be.

Luckily, I manged to get the directions right, showing up near her doorstep. I leaned my bike against the side of the porch, where it wasn't noticeable by much, or in the way. Clearing my throat I knocked on the door with confidence, hoping Paradise would be the one to enter. For it it wasn't, then I would panic and scream like a baby.

During the pas.sed couple of hours, that Paradise was awake too. She was getting ready for the day with Lake. She actually straightened her hair, which was different. She usually just put it up in a ponytail. But since her mom was asleep, she snuck in there, and 'stole' it for about 30 minutes or less.

Then she tried to make sure she looked casual. The 'Just getting out of bed' look, wasn't the best in Paradise's mind. She put on sweat pants, and a tee-shirt. Something good enough, for around the house.

The thought crossed her mind, that Lake probably wasn't even worrying about any of this. She had to keep telling herself that this was like before, at Lake's house. Them just hanging out. But it felt different today. She didn't want to admit it, but she had a thought of why she was so nervous on how she looked today.

When she heard a knock on the door, Paradise smiled and walked towards it. Then heard from her mom upstairs, "Who is that, Paradise?" With a groan. "I got it mom..." She frowned and looked back at up the stairs. "Don't come down here.." She rolled her eyes, and opened the door. Smiling at Lake. "Hey." She said.

Paradise chuckled softly at him, and opened the door wider for him to come in. "Yeah...You came." She said while casually looking up the stairs to see if her mom was getting up. She sighed, hearing foot steps. She rubbed her forehead, and said, "I'll be right back, K? I have to check something. Make your self comfortable, sit down, eat our food. I don't really care." She shrugged and ran upstairs to her mom before he could ask any questions.

She walked into her mother's bedroom, and stared at her. Of course. She was on the phone. She wouldn't let Paradise get a word in. She sighed, and walked back downstairs, "Sorry about that.." She shrugged, and looked at him. Praying that her mom wouldn't come down.

A couple moments later, she heard foot steps behind her. She sighed and heard her mom say, "Who's this?" With a caring ex
pression and a smile on her face. It was such an act. She would never act this way, if no one was around. All she cared about was the looks. "Are you a friend of Paradise's?" She asked, looking at Lake. and holding out her hand for him to shake, "I'm her mom, Debbie Long. But you can call me Mrs. Long." She looked back at Paradise, with a smile. Haven't seen her smile at me that way, since the last person that came over... 

People would always say that her and Paradise were different with personalities, but looked exactly the same. Paradise is shy, her mom is outgoing, Paradise doesn't talk to people much, and that's all her mom does. Yet they look exactly alike. Blonde hair. Blue eyes. Their noses and high cheek bones. And sometimes the way the stood and walked were the same. She hated being told it though. Saying Paradise looked like her mom, was a insult to her. Her mom was beautiful on the outside. Everything Paradise could see physically was just gorgeous. But Paradise didn't see the beauty much, because she knew how her mom was really like.So Paradise looked at her with a more disgust, then awe.  (Happens to me too DX)  

I hesitated, not really thinking Paradise's mother would have beem like this, according to the deion about her I was given. Nonetheless, I shook her hand cautiously. I kept my eyes on Paradise, who seemed to stare at her mother bitterly. I supposed by her glances that this wasn't completely natural.

"Uh, yeah, I'm one of her friends from school. Lake. Nice to meet you?" I released her hand after answering the quiestion I had been asked, retiring to Paradise's side, where to be honest, I actually felt more secure. I always had this phobia over women, rather mothers. THere was just something about them that made them slightly intimidating to me. ((Ah, sorry))

Paradise watched as Lake casually went to her side. Usually she liked the feeling of Lake by her side. But she was too distracted by staring-Or more of glaring at her mother. I'd hate her, if I could... She finally looked back at Lake, and quietly said, "I didn't know she was going to be here today...I don't think we should hang out here, if she's here.." She shrugged. Knowing Lake didn't have a choice. Her mom smiled at Lake, and pulled Paradise over. "You didn't tell me he was coming over...?" Paradise lifted an eyebrow. "I was going to, but you were on the phone." Her mom ignored her and said, "He's kinda cute Paradise...When did you meet him?" Paradise frowned and huffed slightly. Blushing, and walked slowly to the door. Motioning Lake to follow.

((Eh, why is school so suddenly tiring?!))

I watched as they spoke to each other. Paradise seemed to have a bitter distaste towards her mother. I rocked on my heels slightly, constantly looking away, wondering if I was a bother. Eventually, PAradise broke away from her mother, and I followed her as she made her way to the door, where I as.sumed she wanted me to follow her to.

(( GAH!  I just started school today, And I know I'm going to have to quit alot of RP's. So ignore that thread of mine -___- I didn't think I was going to be this tired, also. ))

Paradise opened the door, and let Lake go first, while making sure his back was towards her she did a slight glare at her mother. Who gave a teasing look. He's kind of cute Paradise... She rolled her eyes as she closed the door and said, "Sorry about that. My mom is a bit..." She pursed her lips as she thought, "Difficult?" Then added before he could respond, "I wouldn't have said you could go over, if I knew my mom was going to be there..." She said with a laugh. Then started walking down the porch steps with him, saying, "You have a slightest idea, where we could go?" SHe didn't want to keep the subject on her mom. So many things could be said, if they did.

I followed Paradise towards the door, keeping my head low, nearly stepping on her heels. Taking a small breath, I steeped out, shutting it. I listened as she apologized about her mother being difficult. I slightly laughed. "No, no, it's all right." I supposed that if hr mom caused her to disagree from me coming over, then she must have had quite a disliking to the woman.

I positioned my hands on the back of my head, glancing around and at the blueish sky. I honestly had no idea where to go, what to do. Nor did I know where or what I wanted to do.

"You pick." I grinned. "Oh, hey, have you eaten yet? I can treat you if you like." I smiled at her happily.

Paradise smiled back at Lake, at his question. "No. Actually. I haven't eaten yet." She walked down the sidewalk next to him. Being side by side. "Where are some places you like to go?" She asked, as she did a quick time check on her phone. She usually new when her mom left, so in about a couple of hours or so, she could go back with him, if they had nothing else to do. Her mom was never the type to just stay home all day, so a couple hours was the best guess she could come up with.
