William flinched under her touch but allowed her to lead his hands away before placing her own over his wound. He sucked in another shapr breath before shutting his eyes and concentrated on keeping his breathing steady. He had no idea what was going on but he could feel something going on inside his body. It was the oddest feeling he couldn't wrap his mind around it.

He stayed in that odd state for a while. It could have been an hour, or maybe a few minute but when he his fluttered open again he saw the girl watching him. She soon looked away and cleared her throat, he must have weirded her out just looking up at her like that. Never the less he nodded and pulled himself up so he was sitting. He grunted with the effort and felt a slight pull where the wound was now sealed. He peered over at it seeing a light scar, hopefully that would fade. He looked over at her and grinned, bringing his hand up to wipe some grim and blood from his face. "Thank you." he grinned excited, He already felt so much better as he patted himself over feeling for broken bones.

"I'm all good. Thank you." He said again. He couldn't believe he now owed this girl his life. He looked at her, she wasn't a half bad person to be forever in debt too. "Now, do I get the know the name of the girl I am forever in debt to?" he asked raising an eyebrow lightly. "My name's WIlliam"

Tallow looked down again, stopping her tongue from saying William silently.  It was a totally elvish name, but it sounded so nice, like water tumbling over rocks.  Faeries were usually named after things around them--for example, the fallen stable lad's name had been Summer.
She looked up at him, so much smaller than he was, suddenly shy and a bit fearful of him.  "Tallow.  My name is Tallow," she said softly, just now realizing how dangerous this situation could be.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
She had just given her enemies one more soldier to continue waging war on her people, while so many of her own lay fallen.  And now, here they were, only the two of them in the wide, silent forest.  And it was painfully clear how much taller and stronger the elf was.  But Tallow had the blood-bending on her side, though she didn't admit--even to herself--that she had never been taught how to use it to harm others.
Despite her rebellious streak, Tallow was a healer, not a fighter.
Trying not to let her fear show, Tallow placed a small, fake smile on her face.  She looked at him, hard.  It didn't seem like he wanted to hurt her.  "If you're sure everything's fine, then, I guess I should probably go."

((I just went out shopping with my mother, sorry for the sudden poof XP))

"Tallow." William repeated, letting the name sink in. He wasn't the best with names but it was easy to remember the few faerie name he knew. He always found it funny that though the elves were much more nature oriented it was the faeries that had names like Summer or Sparrow.

He looked away from her an chewed on his bottom lip, they would be sending the animals out again to check for any survivors. All he needed was to smell like faerie, so he was relieved when the girl spoke again saying she should go. He looked over at her and nodded. "They'll send out a second wave of search teams out." he sighed looking over at her. He pulled himself up to his feet, his eyes fluttering from the sudden movement. He placed a hand on his head anf closed his eyes for a moment, ears twitching. "I'll get you a head start." He said looking off into the distance, judging by the look of the sky the team would now be leaving the city.

"Thank you again Tallow." He bowed slightly before turning and headed off in the direction of the faint howls.

"You're welcome," she said softly, already backing away.
The howls in the distance sent shivers of fear and dread through her, and suddenly she was running, stumbling, trying to get away from it.  Reality was crashing down on her shoulders.  What had she done?  She had used her magic to heal the enemy, that was what.  And now said enemy--William--was distracting the search parties for her.
She slowed to a walk when she was far away enough, trying desperately to take it all in.  She had just saved the life of an Elven soldier.  The bad guys.  William.  But now that he had a name, and a face, and a charming smile--could he really be so bad?  She couldn't imagine he was.
But she just kept walking, getting farther and farther away from her crime (though was it really a crime, saving a life?).  She kept walking until she reached the palace, where her rooms were, she kept walking down the corridors and up stairs and down hallways until she closed the door to her rooms and sank onto the bed.  She was more tired than she had ever been before--whether from the healing, the walking, her strange encounter--or perhaps it was a mixture of all three?
Either way, she was sinking into a deep sleep before she sat up with a terrible realization.
She had forgotten her cloak at William's side.
[So, I'm thinking she can go back to retrieve her cloak, and meets Will again? |D If not, that's fine~]

((Sounds fine by me ^^))

Blond man. You look dead. A deep growl reverberated in his head. William smiled, he knew that voice before seeing the creature. "Viktor. Nice to see you too." He grinned dropping to one knee and petting the black wolf. He was the alpha, always ahead of the rest of the search pack, also Williams only good friend.

Will-friend, you smell of fae. the wolfs yellow eyes peered at him quizzically. William shrugged it off and stood back up. "I was fighting them was I not?" he said nonchalantly walking past the wolf. The animal snorted and trotted beside him. Of course he knew, the animals knew everything but they didn't intrude. They would help the elves with little jobs but they would not help fight, or give away any of the faerie secrets.

Was it odd that William felt guilty allowing a faerie to heal him, the enemy had disobeyed rules and to save him. A lazy hopeless man, probably without any future. The enemy was of course as he always knew them to be. They weren't as horrible as the generals made them out to be, people just couldn't be that bad. The enemy also had a pretty name, Tallow.

"William!" came a voice from ahead, shaking him from his thoughts William squinted and smiled as a pair of strong female arms wrapped around his neck. "Maya." he grinned before having the breath knocked out of him from her sudden punch. He heard the deep rumbling of Viktors laugh and he raised an eyebrow at the elven girl in front of him. She looked ridiculous, the tips of her ears red with anger, big brown eyes boring into his, choppy layered hair in two messy braids. "I don't believe you, how come you decided to show up now, everyone was worried!" she pouted, her brown eyes glaring up into his. He slung an arm around her shoulder and gave her a squeeze. "Hey I'm sorry." he said kissing the top of her head. She squirmed out before grinning up at him. "Good 'cause I don't wanna lose another brother." she tugged on his hand trying to drag him towards the house.

William-friend.Viktors voice echoed in his head again, looking up at him with his yellow eyes. William looked over at his sister. "Why don't you go on ahead." he said. "I'll catch up."

His sister nodded before hurrying on ahead. He looked down at the wolf and dropped down so he was at eye-level. My comrade found a cloak near the sent of your blood. Smells strong of a female fae. Will felt his cheeks grow warm but didn't say anything. We have promised not to tell the other seeing as we like you more and have moved the cloak. If you want to give it back yourself you know where to find us.The wolf bowed once before trotting off. William was left there feeling odd. "Will!" came his sisters sharp voice. "Good gods, a man almost dies and now he's being nagged at. What a world." he muttered before standing up and heading to his house.

((Kay so I typed this on my iPod so there may be crazy typos and nonsense. Like in that commercial when the girl types 'I'm in bed with a nasty clown' and not 'cold' XP))

[I shall look it up on YouTube! :D]
The next morning, Tallow awoke with a dull feeling of dread in her stomach.  She couldn't pinpoint it, or the sickening feeling of quilt, for a moment or two before the memories of yesterday came rushing back.  The battle.  All the bodies.  All the blood.  So much death.  So much destruction.  William.
She sat up and blinked, recalling in a rush the healing she had done, and on who, and her quick escape.  Her lost cloak.
She groaned, flopping back onto the soft mattress with a feeling of utter despair.  Tal considered for a lovely moment just leaving it out there to the wind and weather, but she knew better.  The elven search parties would find it, catch her scent, and she would be doomed.  Or, worse yet, some faeries would find it.  She would have to go back.
Tallow dressed quickly and left silently, walking along the path that led to the battlefield.  The walk seemed longer today, not quite so close to home as it had been yesterday, now that the journey separated her from her peace of mind.  But finally she did reach the battlefield, with the bodies looking cold and lonely from the night's chilled embrace.  She wondered when the funeral pyre would be built for them, or if the king really intended to let his fallen soldiers lay where they were until they returned to the earth once more--it was true that in this battle they had lost many more soldiers than ever before.  The thought of this gentle field becoming a mass grave gave Tal shudders.
She rushed past the blank faces of her fallen people, nearly running to the elven side.  The forest was much friendlier in the light of day than it had been the night before, but things also looked differently.  It took her a good several minutes to trace her path back to where she had found William, and when she finally found the clearing, her heart stopped.
He wasn't there.  And neither was her cloak.

((Aww, you changed your dancing piggy XP Also sorry again for the sudden poof I fell asleep XD))

William watched the sunlight filter through his window as he lay on his bed. His mind running on the other days events. Was the girl real? Or just been some pain induced hallucination, but his fingers touch the healed spot where he had had a spear head sticking out.

"Tallow." Will muttered pulling himself upright. Why would a faerie ever help an elf? "Bet she wouldn't be so quick to help if she knew I had just killed one of her kind before she got there." he muttered to himself, wincing as he stood up. His body still hurt, but he refused to see a healer. He quickly pulled on some clothes and walked out into the hall. He didn't hear anyone and he was thankful. For once everyone was out of the house. Will really didn't want to explain why he had been passed out in a feild for hours before returning home without a fatal wound. He slipped through the front door he made a quick dash towards the forest, happy to be welcomed by the sing-song voices of the birds.

"William, blond one. Blue eye'd, young one."

It was the same greeting they had for every elf, though the name, hair colour and eye colour would occasionally change. "Friends." He bowed slightly before leaning his back up against the nearest tree. One of the little sparrows flew down and landed on his outstretched finger. "Big, black wolf of power and might, thinks he would cause the fae girl fright."

He sighed lightly and the bird took that as his defeat as fluttered off. Well that confirmed that he really did get healed by a faerie. Part of him wondered if that was worse than actually being crazy, for now he owed his life to her. Though it might be nice to see her again in the daytime. He was now cleaned up, not looking like he was on the brink of death, also his eyes were back to their usual brightness and he could see clearly. Scratching at the hints of stuble on his chin he walked back off in the direction of the feild where he had almost died. If he knew the wolves they would be right there.

He was right, there stood the pack, Viktor in the front the cloak at his feet. Once he saw William he picked it up between his teeth and gave it to him before walking forward signalling for him to follow. Viktor was the first to enter the clearing, once he had his sights on the faerie girl frantically searching he sat himself down and just watched. William came out a minute later and saw her. "I believe you're looking for this." He said stepping past the wolf and holding out the cloak.

[I know. D: He's on my profile though, no worries~]
"William!" His name was on her lips before she even thought to hold back her cry.  Her voice was filled with relief and fear and little bit of...what?  Welcome?
She watched him as he approached her, cautious.  But the elf boy wasn't hold any weapons...just her cloak.  She took a step towards him, tentative.  In the daylight, he was much taller and much more dangerous-looking than he had the night before. Not to mention the fact that she had healed the life-threatening wound in his side.
As she approached him, Tal specifically avoided meeting his eyes.  She wasn't quite sure of what she was afraid to see in them--disgust?  Hate?  Gratitude?
She took the cloak's soft fabric in her hands, jumping a little as she accidentally brushed his arm.  She gathered the faerie-silk around her--it was much stronger and much softer than the mortal stuff--and breathed in its mossy scent that came from spending a night in the forest.  It also smelled a bit like...dog?
"Thank you," she said softly.  "Thank you so much."

((Lol XD Oh and Happy Easter ^^))

William was a bit taken back when she cried out his name. He really wasn't expecting such a welcome, though after her inital cry she did proceed with caution. She was smaller than he had initally thought, prettier too, though she refused to make any eye contact. He thought nothing of it though, he might have been doing the same if he was in her position, and if he was a girl.

When she brushed against him, she jumped, which caused a small smile to play across his lips. "No problem." He shrugged rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. He obviously had not thought this through, he had given her the cloak and now here he was in elf territory feeling like an idiot because he couldn't think of anything to say.

"I honestly cannot begin to thank you enough." he finally said looking down at the smaller woman. "I can't even wrap my mind around why you did. I doubt it was because of my devilishy good looks." he joked, grinning slightly.

((Yeah I didn't know what to do XP))

[Thanks! :3 You too~]
Tallow smiled tentatively at William, not really quite sure how to respond.  Normally, she would have snapped back with a witty reply, but this elf had seemed to disarm her wits.  No sly comments came, no biting remarks.  She couldn't even summon up the courage to rudely dismiss him and leave this all behind.
At length, she said haltingly, "I don't really know why I did it, either.  Maybe it was the ears," she quipped, gesturing to his pointed ones.  "They really are quite charming."
Wait, wait, wait.  She wasn't seriously flirting with this elf, was she?  Shocked by herself, Tal's joke fell flat.  She looked around the clearing, hoping for something else to say, when she suddenly caught sight of a black shadow at the edge of the forest.  Her blood ran cold, her heart started thumping wildly in her chest.
"Is that--is that a wolf?" she gasped.

William smiled slightly at her joke and felt his ears twitch. That was not what he was expecting but it was a good joke, though it seemed to fall flat when she realized what she'd said.

It went back to being awkward for Will. It was not something he enjoyed, he didn't understand why he didn't just leave, even though this was Elf territory. Part of him just wanted to stay here until she left, what else were you supossed to do for the person who saved your life. He scratched at his chin nervously when she spoke up again.

"No, I'm a sheep." Viktor's deep voice reverberated in Williams head. "Not very smart is she?"

"Hey, that's mean." William said looking over at the black wolf who was now coming out from the trees and closer to the two. He glanced back at Tallow. "Don't mind him and his buddies. They said they're not planning on doing anything. It was actually one of Viktors guys that found your cloak." He shrugged, he really didn't have much more to say on the subject.

"Viktor?  You...name your wolves?" Tal asked, thoroughly confused.  She was also wondering why he had made a comment about something being mean, supposedly towards the wolf (or so she hoped).  She just settled for the realization that she would never really understand elven ways.
She sighed and looked down at the fabric which had caused her all this trouble.  "Well then, I guess I owe them a thanks."  She looked up at the huge black canine, trying not to flinch.  Tallow was good with most animals, but massive wolves were pushing it for her.  Not to mention they were elven wolves.  Who had found her cloak.  And probably knew about how she had helped William.
"Do...do they know?" she asked at length, eyeing Viktor suspiciously.

William raised an eyebrow at her. Was she being serious? Of course he didn't name the wolf, Viktor's parents had named him that, what was she getting at? Was it even so odd to name animals? He knew that some elves kept pets sometimes which they name, plus sometimes animals would name themselves. He shot a glance down at Viktor who was silently laughing to himself. Obviously he knew something he didn't.

"Do...do they know?"

He turned his attention back to Tallow, an eyebrow slightly raised. "Know what?" he asked. It took him a moment to realize what she meant. "Oh of course they know. Animals know everything that go on in these parts. Best sources for gossip." he shrugged. Surely faeries have animals of some sort in their territory. "Though they're completely useless when it comes to giving information on your kind, the refuse to participate in our 'war'."

She breathed a heavy sigh of relief.  "Good for them, I suppose.  Honestly, I don't know why anyone participates.  All this bloodshed..." she gestured widely around them.  "I just don't understand."
She looked up at William, not really sure what she was going to say until it popped right out of her treacherous mouth.  "I'm glad I saved your life, William."

((Lol it's alright. The treacherous mouth part made me laugh XD))

William shrugged, he didn't exactly understand why either. But her second comment caught him completely off guard. His cheeks grew a light pink and his pointed ears twitched.

"Well isn't that just sweet Will-friend." Viktor chuckled from beside him. "I think the fae girl likes you.

"Would you just shut up Viktor!" William snapped at the wolf. "I don't need your smart comments right now." He turned back towards the girl and nodded. "Well I am equally happy that you saved my life too Tallow." He said bowing slightly. "Otherwise someone wouldn't have a friend." He directed the last sentence with a sharp look at the wolf. "I am forever in your debt."

...Had William just told the wolf to shut up?
Tal had heard that the elves could speak to animals, but she always assumed they were just rumors.  She realized she was gaping at the two of them and looked away quickly, blushing furiously.
She cleared her throat, uncomfortable, and then hugged her cloak tighter.  "Well, there's no need to be in my debt.  I was just doing my job--I'm a healer."  Tallow shook her head, realizing just how ridiculous this situation was.  "I...I guess I should probably be getting back soon.  Thanks for returning my cloak."

William faught the smile tugging at the corner of his lips. Now everything she had said before had made sense, clearly faeries did not have the ability to talk to animals. So he must have looked like a complete wack job for talking to the wolf.

He had made her uneasy, that was understandable, but he still felt bad. He nodded at what she said. "Well I don't know about faerie culture, but in elf if someone saves your life, your life becomes theirs. So I guess you won't be getting rid of me as soon as you think." He grinned slightly, his eyes reflecting the same light emotion. "But I will bid you farewell for the day." He bowed slightly once more, ears twitching as he did so. "I hope to see you later Tallow."

He was treading on dangerous ground now. If taking her help wasn't bad enough, he protected her from the search group, returned her cloak and was now saying he wished he could see her again. Thank the gods not all elves could speak with animals, not that Viktor would sell him out, but still.

Tallow began to move away from him, but stopped as he spoke.
She turned back to him, smiling.  "I...hope to see you again too, William.  Goodbye."
Then she turned and walked away, wondering what exactly had just transpired.
