Private roleplay for me and Serenity, yo. :> No lurking.

Plot
There can be two kingdoms: those of the faeries and the elves.  The Faeries are being blessed by certain powers.  Some can control light, others hide themselves from the eyes of others.  The Elven people, though, are connected with the earth.  They can speak the language of the trees and creatures, and bid them to do their will.
The two of them have always been adversaries, fighting a war of a thousand years, whose beginnings have been lost in time.  There are lulls in the battle, yes, but there is always a constant rivalry, and the terrible bloodshed always begins again.
Little do the two kingdoms know that the human kingdoms are well aware of this war, the weak links in the two powerful peoples.  And little do they know that they are planning to make it their downfall.
This is where our story begins, with two young people from two very different cultures.  They meet in a time of war, but against all odds, a friendship begins.  And, together, they risk everything to save their two very different kingdoms.

Characters
Name:
Tallow "Tal" Vher'de
Gender:
Female
Age:
21
Race:
Faerie
Powers:
She can control light and manipulate blood--a rare power.  The catch with her blood-manipulation is that she cannot have strong emotional ties to the person or creature she's manipulating, or the power does not go through.
Quick Personality:
Tallow is brave, clever, and extremely headstrong.  She dislikes taking orders from authority, but is very patriotic.  She thinks that the only way to get a job done right is to do it herself.  She's kind to those she cares about, and defends them loyally, but her affection does not come easily and neither does it show itself.  When it does manifest, it's in strange and subtle ways, but you know that you will have her protection for as long as you stay in her graces.  This is somewhat hard to do, though, because her mood can change violently and on whims.  Catch her and keep her, though, and you have a very valuable asset.
Appearance:
Tallow has long, silky red-brown hair that is a warm auburn in the winter and grows steadily redder as summer draws nearer.  By mid autumn, she has gold streaks in her hair from the sunlight, but they fade as winter draws in again.  She has bright green eyes that betray the emotions she otherwise hides so well.  Tallow is of average height, warm golden skin, and lithe build.  She's fast but not strong, and quick with her hands.
She has delicate, dished features with a high forehead, smooth jawline, and big eyes.  Tallow is pretty, but not breathtakingly beautiful like some faeries.
Background:
Due to her skill with blood manipulation, Tallow was trained as a healer from an early age.  She is very distant from her family because she was taken away from them to be trained by the king's physician himself--that is how rare her power is--and is fairly emotionally detached from everyone else, as well.  She currently works in the battlefields, healing the wounded.
Other:
She enjoys cursing, something her mentors abhor. |D

((Sorry for taking so long. Bios get on my nerves and I always put them off XP))

Name:
William Elendiir
Gender:
Male
Age:
23
Race:
Elf
Powers:
His powers are nothing too special. He like all elves is great with plants, being able quicken the growth of plants. His powers of control also spread to living things, mostly animals. He can communicate with them like they were anyother person. He can't physcially control them but if he tells them nice enough to do something for him, they likely will.
Quick Personality:
Will is a laid back, go with the flow kind of guy. He tries not to dwell on the past or future and tries to live in the moment. He doesn't care for show off or attention seekers, and could care even less about the war between the races. He is easily amused which is why he likes his power so much seeing as the tings animals see and hear and tell him are ridiculously funny, he is normally caught up on all gossip due to his animal friends.
Appearance:
Standing at an average height of 5'11" Will is a realtively good looking guy. His blonde hair varies in colour depending on the season, in the fall and winter months his hair appears to be a sandy brownish colour (dirty blonde) and in the spring and summer months it appears lighter, with darker undertones. He has pretty cornflower blue eyes, which light up whenever he smiles. His eyes are really the windows to his soul, all his emotions are displaid there, even if they are not displaid on his face. With his strong jawline, and pink lips, (his top being thinner than his bottom) and straight teeth, he has cute boyish charm to him. He is a relatively muscular boy nothing quite to eye-catcing, no super defined six pack, not that you would see.
Background:
Nothing too dramatic, no sudden deaths or freak accidents. He has actually had just to most boring life. His friends joined up to fight in the battles so he just followed, he had nothing else going for him.
Other:
Nothing I can think of. Also point out of I messed things up, he was originally a satyre XP

[Yay. c: ]

The gathering evening would have been peaceful, if not for the blood.  It soaked everything--the soil was wet with it, the numerous abandoned weapons coated in it, the bodies oozing it...even the fiery red of the sunset seemed like an open wound on the sky's alabaster skin.
It was a great and terrible beauty.
Tallow shivered as she walked the battlefields, so many familiar faces lying lifeless on the ground.  There was the soldier that would occasionally smile at her during training--there was the stable boy who had such a brave heart, but such a small body.
She was beginning her work late today, and she would never forgive herself the lives she could have saved in the hours that slipped by in the royal physician's office, being lectured on last-minute items she would never remember.
And she hated him for it.
Hated that crooked-nosed, thin reed of a faerie for keeping her from where she belonged--out here, healing her people.
As the light faded, she gathered orbs around her that shed a light incandescence across the horrors of war.  But there were no survivors.
She walked, for hours it seemed, alone.  Everyone else had fled the destruction; she was here simply as insurance that no one was left behind.
And no one was.
But instead of leaving this terrible place, instead of turning her back to the hateful slaughter, Tallow made her way into the shallow woods that marked where the elves had led their attack from.  The trees groaned in greeting as she walked among them, and in the fast-dimming light, faint outlines of emerald dragon-fly's wings shimmered from her back.  They were the faerie's mark--wings that appeared only when they used their magic.  Legend said that they stole it from the dragonflies and the butterflies, the small beauties of the animal world.  Each faerie was said to have their own unique wings, taken from some ancient creature long ago.  That was, if the stories were to be believed.
Tallow finally settled a small ways into the forest.  The chaos and blood was not as apparent here, with only a few fallen soldiers within ten feet of her.  They were elves, too--a small comfort in the face of the loss of her comrades.  She couldn't bear to look at them right now, yet she couldn't bear to leave them, either.  So there she sat, waiting and wondering.

((Sorry for taking so long XP))

Why did he ever join, to fight this stupid war? He honestly never cared much for the war between the races, he didn't understand why they couldn't just get along. And now here he was, lying in blood and he wasn't quite sure if it was his or person lying next to him.

It was was nice when they launched the attack. The sun was high, there was a light breeze. On any other day like this he would have been up in some tree talking to a chipmunk. But the attack was great, they had slaughtered the 'enemy', with few casualities on the elven side.

He opened his blue eyes for a moment dazed, he wasn't dead. He blinked a few times allowing his eyes adjust to the world around him, the throbbing in his side was enough proof of that. After a few moments of getting adjusted he turned to look at the body next to his. He let out a light choking sound and tore his eyes away, it was his friend, the idiot that had talked him into joining this damn fight. Look where that got us, he thought.

He hatred this. Everything they were doing. WHen they were young they used to drill into their minds that they land was sacred, they were not to pollute, they were to keep it safe. But here his race was, fighting a needless war, polluting the very thing they were to protect.

William closed his eyes again and counted slowly in his head. He was now sure most of the blood that was soaked into the Earth was not his so heopened his eyes once more and tried to sit up, groaning as he did so, his side throbbing. He looked over and sucked in a sharp breath, there was something embeded there. With a grunt he gripped it and pulled it out making a wave of dizziness wash over him causing him to fall back to the ground again.

Was this what it came too? Was he just going to bleed out on this polluted ground? He turned his head for a moment to look down at the hole in his side, it wasn't as bad as he thought, but still nasty for his tastes. There was also the multiple little scratches which no doubt riddled his body but he could probably take care of that, if only he could sit up again. He sucked in a breath and with a grunt tried to pull himself up again, without sucess. "Dammit." he muttered as he looked up at the evening sky. No one would be coming for him, he knew himself that search parties for survivors weren't the most thorough. Plus, he had been unconsious, and that was the same as dead.

Tal started at the sounds of movement, coming from somewhere to her left.  For a terror-stricken moment, she sat there, frozen, thinking it was elves come back to take away the bodies, or something worse.  She relaxed only slightly when she heard a grunt, and a muffled "Dammit".  She shivered, hearing the thick elven accent drift across the air.
The elves and faeries shared a common language--it was the one thing the two of them had in common, it seemed--but there was no doubt that this particular speaker was of elven descent.  The dialect was the same, but the elves' words sounded to Tallow like the earth itself, with the wind whispering in the leaves and the trees groaning down to their roots, while the faeries sounded more akin to a burbling stream.
And it was an elven voice she had heard.
For a long while, she sat there, wondering what to do.  The speaker (she was fairly sure the elf was a man--no, boy really) sounded badly hurt, and part of her wanted to go and help him, or at least give him a reprieve from the pain before he died.  But another part of her--the stony, cold-hearted part that had been drilled into her by the royal physician and her various other mentors--told her to stay still, and let the elf suffer.  He was her enemy, after all.
So Tallow sat there, thinking and fighting with her diverging instincts, until she finally stood up and started to walk towards where she had heard the noises.  She wasn't going to let a fallen soldier die painfully just because he was on the opposing side.  He had entered this war for his country--as they all had.  And where was the crime in that?
She wasn't going to let some stuffed-up idiots who thought they knew the world tell her what was right and what was wrong.
So she made her way through the silent forest, fighting off shivers.  It was eerie there, but she dimmed the light orbs around her just a small amount so that the soldier's eyes wouldn't be hurt, but so that she could still see.
Tal found him quickly, locating the one torso still moving with breath.  He was lying next to a fallen comrade, and he looked like he was in bad shape.  She knelt next to him, slim fingers hesitating before touching him.  She was suddenly filled with reservations--would he want to be saved, if it meant owing his life to a faerie?
So she bent down and whispered to him, "I am here to help you.  But I will only do so if you give me permission.  Can you speak?"

William had closed his eyes and was concentrating on his breathing when he felt a light touch. Then he heard the voice and he stiffened, his pointed ears twitched. The voice was light, but not just because it was female. It was a faerie, the distinct sound they all had was unmistakable. He opened his blue eyes and squinted over at the female now kneeling next to him.

Yep, it was unmistable, she was a faerie. He blinked and looked away for a moment a small smiled spreading across his face before a chuckling sound came from deep within him. He groaned after though clutching at his side. He looked back over at the woman, she looked around the same age as him, give or take. She was pretty, though not as nice as some other faeries he had seen but he shouldn't be thinking on that now.

He smiled slightly before he spoke. "This must be some messed up hereafter if a faerie is offering to help." He looked away and winced, his eyes watering slightly as he sucked in another breath. "Won't your superiors be upset at you helping me?" He asked looking back over at her.

Tallow was surprised that a smile spread over her lips as he laughed.  She started to shove it into a grimace instead, but his question brought the grin back.
"Of course they will," she said childishly, her mischievous tone startling her back into the present.
She was on a battlefield, on the enemy side.  Offering to help an elf.  Not the time for jokes.
She sobered immediately, and gave the boy a hard stare--he really couldn't be much older than her.  What a sad time it was, when children became soldiers.  She cleared her throat, trying to shrug off the lightheartedness she had felt a moment before.  His wounds were extensive, but not untreatable.  He would probably die in the night, though, if someone else didn't come to rescue him--the forest at night was not a place for the wounded.
For faeries at least.  She wondered if it was different for elves, if they could simply go through the forest unharmed by its many horrors, since they were so at ease within nature.
Tallow stopped trying to reason it out, and sought the boy's gaze.  "Do you want me to help you or not?"

William smiled slightly at her joke and looked away and nodded. "If you don't help me I'm sure some wolves will come along, but they're not normally the most helpful bunch, not unless there is something in it for them." He was rambling, what he was saying probably didn't even make any sense to her.

"Just forget what I said." He sighed. "Can you patch it up?" He moved his hand from the open wound on his side, he tried not to black out from the sight. He was a soldier he was supossed to be unfazed by the sight of blood, but he couldn't help it. In his opinion a guy shouldn't be laying in a pool of his own blood.

Tallow sucked in a breath as he revealed the previously unseen wound, but she nodded.
"Yes.  I can fix that."
It was far worse than the other cuts and bruises on him, but she hadn't lied.  It would take energy and focus, but she would help this soldier.  Even if he was an elf.
Carefully, she took his hands in her own and put them at his sides.  She moved him gently onto his back, and then put her hands over the wound.  They touched him slightly, and she hoped he didn't hurt him.
Then, Tallow closed her eyes.
She drew up the magic boiling in her own blood, and called on the magic in his.  Every bit of blood has some magic in it, a piece of a creature's life force.  It could be bended just as any other element, but the gift for handling blood as such was very rare.  She summoned his blood to come and heal the wound, to stop running from his body and instead repair it.
She wasn't sure how long she sat there--seconds?  Minutes?  An hour?  But when she opened her eyes, all that was left was a pink scar.
While the magic was still fresh in her, she repaired a few of his worse scratches, too. She couldn't do everything, though, or they would know that he had come into contact with a magic-handler that could heal him.  And only elves and faeries were magic-handlers.
When she finished, she gave him another smile.  "I can't do anything about the scarring, but the wound is gone.  It might still hurt for a day or two--I can't stop the pain, sadly--but after that, you should be fine."  She stopped talking, but continued to study him.  He was handsome, that much was apparent even under the la
yer of blood and grime of battle.  Tal wondered if she had just given some lucky elven girl back her lover.  She wondered if some girl was crying over him, just another soldier lost in battle.  She wondered what had landed him here in this hellhole of a war in the first place.
She looked away after a minute, a bit embarrassed, and cleared her throat.  "Try and sit up, will you?  Do you think you broke any bones?"
