Weredragons it is!! pulling up bios in a sec, here's the basic plot:

EVERYONE knows about vampires and werewolves, heck they make movies about them! But who knows about the were-DRAGONS? Eh? Very very few, and most of those who do are dangerous people who are prepared to use the unique powers of weredragos to thier own profit. Because of this consistent seeking-out of the weredragons of the world, thier numbers grew thin over time and eventually were thought to be extinct, but one clan remained. For a while, they held together, moving from area to area. After several centuries of doing so, though, many had broken away and immersed themselves into the human community. Now, the weredragons are back, and in strength. It was not long ago that a group of weredragons banded together and made thier reappearance known to the world. This allowed for weredragons to roam freely among humans, though discrimination is still common even today. There is one place, however, where weredragons can learn and grow surrounded by others of thier kind, a haven school, so to speak. This, is where the story begins......

^^

use whatever bio you want, doesn't matter as long as we get basic info down

((Grr. Why can't people get on every now and then!*glares at human photo* Oh well. And no, i've seen it before. This is actually the only time I've seen you use it.))

Flara backwinged, landing on the roof of the school, which was built big and sturdy, to support those who preferred to venture to school in their scaly winged forms. She looked down at the few who walked, whether as human or dragon, and her eyes shone in the light of the sunrise. School  wasn't to start for hours, but she preferred to get to school early, so she wouldn't be hurt by those who feared her fire. She glanced down once more, her eyes seemingly glowing and shifting, and saw Dren. She puffed a bit of fire at him, but he ignored it, and she sighed, causing another bout of flame.

Dren felt the heat of the fire above him, but ignored it. He wasn't in the mood today. He shot a glare at Flara, who was easily recognizable with her golden scales, and continued into the school. The doors were only big enough for humans, but inside, the hallways were huge, to accomidate the many students who were rarely seen as humans. However, they still had to shift to get into cla.ss. Dren never had to worry about that. He hadn't shifted for two years. Not since what had happened last time.

((Hehe. Had to think up an idea for WHY he doesn't like to be a dragon. :D))

((lol))

Lori soared on the warm updrafts of the early morning, gliding in on feathered wings that made barely a sound as she flew over the heads of the various students walking, or flying in some cases, to the school. She shifted as she landed, a skill she had perfected over years of practise. Those who saw her do it stared in awe, for it was a difficult feat to say in the least. She walked through the front doors without breaking stride, some of her feathers still receding into her skin. She spotted Dren and called out with a friendly smile, waving.

---

Shyra's customary scowl was planted on her face as she walked through the front gates to the school. It was her first time comming here, and the results did not dissappoint - it pissed her off. Several people were flying, others were shifting while walking. Either way, everyone was either a dragon, or a human. Same old, same old. The usual stares followed her as she p*censored*ed the students of the school, some of them nearly running into various objects in the courtyard. Shyra glared at them all, her mismatched eyes burning right into thier souls. She wrenched the schedule from her bag, scanning through it for her first cla.ss. Finding it, she stomped off, her single wing twitching in anger.

----

Shane shifted against the post on which he leaned, silently watching the normal morning traffic into the school. His eyes lingered on one strange girl as she entered the school, but he soon averted his attention to the more general aspect of the moving crowd. A small group of girls whispered amongst themselves a short ways away, glancing at him every now and then. He groaned internally, looking away, silently hoping for something to save him from thier inevitable approach. A familiar golden form on the roof caught his attention. The girls already inching towards him, he moved quickly, calling out, "Flara! Hey Flara!"

Flara glanced down to see Shane, her eyes curious. She looked around him to see some girls moving toward him. A grin on her face, and in great humor, she lowered her tail--just out of his reach, even if he jumped. She grinned at him, her natural playfulness showing despite her ferocious appearance.

Dren heard someone call him, and looked around to see Lori waving at him. He waved back, noting the feathers still retreating into her back. It was a wonder to him how she could shift while landing, though how anyone could control themselves as a dragon was always beyond him. He moved to the side of the river-like crowd, and waited for Lori.

Shane glared at Flara and her stubborn playfullness. He glanced over his shoulder at the girls, who had now picked up speed and were swiftly walking now. He sighed in annoyance and shifted, his dragon form providing the size needed to join Flara on the roof. He glared at her again with his icy blue eyes and clicked a talon on the shingles of the rooftop, asking,

"Was that really nessesary? I could have died down there."

---

Lori slipped through the moving crowd, quickly reaching Dren. She smiled again and said,

"'Morning!"

---

Shyra stumbled as a girl, who was practically bubbling, pushed past her. She didn't even bother to glare. Her tail twitching in agitation, she pressed on, finding her first cla.ss, literature, just up ahead.

Dren managed a smile.
"Morning! So, how's your day so far? Despite it being early morning?"

Flara grinned again.
"Yes it was nessecery. And you wouldn't have died. The girls are fluffy little puffballs. Barely fitting of the ti
tle of dragon."

Lori put a finger to her lip, looking at the cieling as if earnestly thinking about the subject. She then grinned and said,

"Wonderful, actually. The air is absolutely perfect, it was almost effortless to fly over here." She then made a poutin face and added, "Of COURSE, you wouldn't know that, now would you?" She always made it a point to prod at Dren when it came to his reluctance to shift.

----

Shane sighed and let his head hang, shaking it slightly and saying,

"I really don't understand what they want from me all the time."

Flara shrugged, then made as if to shove Shane from the roof, then thought better of it.
"Who knows? Maybe its because you never have anyone around you? They only prey on those that are alone."

Dren closed his eyes, at loss for a retort. Momentarily. it was a sore spot for him, his refusal to shift. But it was okay when Lori picked on him for it. He knew she was kidding.
"Well, just be grateful you can control yourself as a dragon...."
Images flashed in his mind. A long black serpent. Blood. The scales forever stained in many places. Him, trying to escape what he had done. And finally, the silohette of a snake-like creature against the mon as it fled the forests. He cleared his head, as he did many times a day, and sighed.

Lori's eyes softened. she could tell what he was thinking. Again. Like always. She sighed and moved past him, haded to cla.ss. she paused to lightly touch his shoulder and said,

"You know you can talk to me, right? You're not alone in this big wide world."

With that, she walked off towards literature.

---

Shane paused at the thought before replying,

"I guess that's true, but still. I think there's another factor involved, but that may just be my imagination."

He glanced at the clock on the big tower on the far side of the school and made a remark,

"Lit starts in a few mintues, we may want to head inside."

Flara flared her wings and nodded, then jumped from the roof, floating down. When she reached the ground, she changed into her human self, her golden wings fading into her back. This was one of the rare times to see the golden beast as a human, and many people weren't around. She turned around, waiting for Shane.

Dren nodded, and sexhaled deeply, just realizing he had been holding his breath. He followed Lori, as they were in the same first cla.ss. He knew he could trust her, but everytime he thought of talking, his toungue seemed to tie itself in knots. He could never bring himself to speak of what he'd done.
He was my brother, for Pete's sake!

Shane followed suit, gracefully climbing down since he didn't have wings and neededa running start to get his levitation powers working. He shifted as he touched the ground, his indigo mane turning pale and shiny like silver as it shortened into his human hair. He walked with Flara to thier literature cla.ss, with barely a minute to spare as he slipped into his seat. He noticed the strange looking girl from before sitting a few seats away. She was obviously new due to the constant glances everyone was giving her.

---

Lori noticed Flara and Shane eneter the room, some of the last people to make it to cla.ss. She waved at Flara and indicated the open seat next to her, a smile on her face.

---

Shyra silently prayed that she wouldn't have to get up and introduce herself to the cla.ss. the claws of her dragon hand scratched absently at the desk, a nervous hait developed over years of exactly this sort of stress.

Flara noticed Lori waving her hand at her, and noted the open chair. She decided to try and not shift unless for an as.signment, but already she was getting a little iffy. As she sat down, she tapped her foot like someone going through withdrawl, which wasn't so different from what she had to go through. But she couldn't always be a dragon. She had to practice herself.

Dren slipped into a seat in the back, almost completely alone. Only one or two other people were there, not to mention the few who preferred to stay dragons during cla.ss, who were behind him.

((Next can be battle practice cla.ss! I have an idea!))

((sure, i have an idea too X3 ))

Lori sighed at Flara and said,

"You know, you really need to go through some serious practise with your human form. You barely know how to sit still in it!"

---

Shyra cursed to herself as the teacher called her  forward. She could feel the gazes of the students on her as she moved to the front and her tolerance found itself quickly wearing thin. The teacher had a nervous smile on his face and announced,

"Cla.ss, we have a new student joining us today. Please introduce yourself."

Shyra stopped biting her lip just long enough to say,

"Hi. My name is Shyrani Talkota, but please call me Shyra."

She said it quickly and with a mildly friendly tone, as if her throat was clenched up or something. She could already hear the whispers threatening to spread between the gossips of the cla.ss about both her odd name and appearance. But she would deal, she always did. the teacher allowed her to return to her seat and the cla.ss began.

---

Shane watched the new girl with intrest. she was a peculiar one to say at least. He then pulled out his notebook, preparing to turn in last night's homework and take notes, as was the usual process for this cla.ss.

Flara nodded and readied her stuff for the cla.ss.
"Exactly why I'm going to try and last the whole day. Please, if you can, stop me any time I try to shift. Its already driving me crazy."

Dren watched the new gril with curiosity, mainly wondering how she got stuck with being inbetween. He sighed, and pulled out his notebook, then cursed under his breath as he remembered that he had forgotten his homework. Now he'd have to do some stupid a.ssignment infront of the cla.ss. He was already teased enough because of his refusal to shift, and having to make up for homework didn't help.

Lori grinned and said,

"I guess I'll start now then." She flicked Flara in between the eyes, sticking her tongue out. before either Flara or the teacher could retort, she pulled out her stuff and turned her attention to the lesson whic was beginning.

---

Shyra felt the stares begin to fade, all of them moving to regard the teacher. She could sense on pair still lingering though. she decided to ignore it... until it didn't go away. she glanced over her shoulder to meet a pair of blue eyes at the back of the cla.ss. Something in those eyes held her, a pain, a long time of suffering, all contained in that gaze. Shyra found that she could not break away.

Dren saw the girl look back at him, and he altered his gaze, not really wanting to get on her bad side, seeing as he would not be able to stand a chance, if a fight were to occur. He glanced up at the teacher, wondering what today was going to be about.

Flara glared at Lori for a few moments before the teacher came by.
"Homework please."
His voice was a dull monotone, the reason that Flara often fell asleep in cla.ss. She handed up her paper, and sighed. It was going to be a long day, especially since the teacher was now staring at her like she was a freak.
"Are...are you a new student?"
She had to keep herself from changing at that remark. It would have meant trouble if she had.
"No. I'm Flara."
Now, it seemed as if the whole cla.ss was staring. Very few had seen her as a human, and they were in an open-mouthed silence.
