Monteckos are considered an inferior race. Although they have human form, their eyes glow various colours, depending on their attribute, and they are morons. Or, at least, that is the opinion. Why is it no one has ever bothered to liten to one of them, saying that they are not morons? Possibly because they can't speak. Well, actually, let me rephrase that. They do speak, but in a language no human could ever understand. Or, no human... until now. He was born a normal human being, but by some freak accident caused when the Montesuze Star flew closely past earth, he was granted the ability to communicate to all humans... and all Monteckos. Should he learn of this new ability, and should he believe Monteckos are clever, he would be executed if anyone even knew he thought it. Monteckos are volatile creatures; They must be constantly told they are morons, and treated as such, or the Grande Cuncile could face rebellion.

Ookies. So, basic breakdown of the plot right thar. :U Lemme reclarify what Monteckos are for people who either aren't very good at paying attention, or are... a beeeet slow.

Monteckos are human-like creatures, indistinguishable, save for glowing eyes. Oh, and they have tails, too. Nu, not cat tails. Leeeezard tales. 'Cos they ish just epic liek that. They are incapable of human language, and are kept as slaves by the humans, taught to obey commands as you would teach a dog or a pack animal.

The colour of a Montecko's eyes will vary depending on the attribute. These are:

Earth- Brown. They can move rocks with their minds, but it is very little, i.e. maybe being able to move pebbles or such. These are usually males, and they are a little stronger than humans. Used for heavy moving.

Fire- Red. They have the ability to create small spheres of fire. Genders are spread evenly. Are about level in strength with humans. Used as every day slaves.

Plant- Green. Can make plants grow faster, or revive dead plants. In exceptionally rare cases, can revive or heal humans. Are very weak compared to average humans, and are often put to work in gardens.

Sky- Blue. Can levitate about two feet off the ground. Slightly faster than humans. Used to work in everyday things.

That be all fer now. Teh Ty ish lookin' fer someone ta play that there weird human, teh one gifted with the ability to communicate wit h Monteckos.

Well now. I should... Probably put something intelligent here. At some point. Eventually.

For some odd reason, when I read the word 'morons' I couldn't help but think of Skellig...

Anywho, I'm interested, so what's your character going to be like?

Ookies. :3 Will you be using Olavi again? :U I plan on using someone incredibly shy, very low self-confidence and sel-esteem, etc, etc. Basically, what being a slave all your life would normally do to ya. :U In case it helps you choose your charrie. xD

I'll use someone else. He'll probably be really obnoxious, though. Is there a specific person who watches over the Monteckos?

Not really. There could be a slave master, though, who buys and sells Monteckos to make a profit. For things like that, think African Slave Trade style. Basically, the Monteckos get treated like that.

And obnoxious makes things more fun. |D

If his eyes are green, then what I was thinking was for him to either work on a really big farm or end up getting sold to the farm's owner. The owner could have, like, a ton of other Monteckos that he keeps for various things. And then my charri could be the owner's son. That sound good to you?

Vert was sat in the corner of the cage, listening to the sounds of the area around him. He caught a few phrases he had learnt, but his kind weren't designed for human language, and he could make no sense of it. He heard words such as 'Work' or 'good', both words he had learned from an early age. The latter had tended to be said less and less, and had now been almost entirely replaced with the word 'bad'. His glittering emerald eyes flitted around him at all the things he saw, all the people, and his tail was wrapped around his leg, twitching slightly.

His long, blonde hair was dull and lifeless, and his skin was rather sickly. Monteckos didn't exactly get treated well; his build was incredibly skinny, and his loose, plain shirt hung from his shoulders, the white fabric stained in many places, with both mud and grass stains... as well as blood stains, gotten from his last master. The right side of his face boasted a black eye, and his lip was split. His arms were bruised black and blue, and his left shoulder was held crookedly, where the bone had been dislocated the day before and not seen to. His left leg was cut badly under the loose, worn trousers he was wearing, and was the reason he was sat down now instead of stood up.

Vert's right leg was drawn up to his chest, and his head was resting on that as he looked around. His face was blank, expressionless, as he heard the buzz of conversations he could never understand, and the shouting of the salesman in incomprehensible language. A few other boys who were in the cage with him were talking amongst themselves, having conversations about their old masters.

Leaning back so that his head was leaning against the bars behind him, he tried to ignore the looks of obvious disgust that could be seen on peoples faces as they walked past. His eyes, even in the bright sunlight, were glowing deeply. They were even more striking by night, though.

[[Thar ya go. :U One phail post.]]

Fremmed clung onto his father's shirt. He knew that he was acting childish, in only a few more years he would be able to take over his father's position at the manor. There was just something about the slavers that put him on edge, though.

He was used to the cages and chains, Frenned had taken his father's Monteckos out of the steel bars and had clamped the chains to them since he was ten. Frenned was also used to the blood, dirt, and grime, apparently that tends to appear when you're locked in a cage most of his life.

No, it was none of those things that bothered him. It was the fact that he could hear the Monteckos. Well, everyone could hear them, but he had been told all his life that they could not be understood. It had just kind of happen. Two years ago on the same day, before he got to celebrate his birthday, when he opened the cages, all of a sudden, he knew what they were saying.

Now he was seventeen, and he still had yet to utter a word to anyone about his .... his issue. Some of his school friends had told him about this one person who had the same gift as him. When people found out about it, then burned him to death. That was only a rumor, but it still scared him.

[[/shot/ Frenned. Is that pronounced fren-ned, or Friend ? |D]]

Vert winced slightly as something poked sharply into his back. Hearing one of the salesmen muttering something like 'Up', he jumped up immediately and gave a slight mew of pain at the same time. The thing the man had poked him with was a sharpened stick, very crude and primative, but it did the job.

Leaning heavily against the bars, he sighed and closed his eyes, cutting off the glow from sight. His long, light green tail was still wrapped around his leg as if it would give him some sort of support, even though it was far too flimsy to do much. What had he ever done to deserve a life such as this? For over sixteen years, from the day of his birth, he had been treated like filth, worth less than a dog. He couldn't even remember what his mother looked like. He had been taken from her before he was old enough to walk or speak, and his earliest memories were of the slave trainer.

The salesman called out something about well-trained slaves, all suitable for farm and garden work, but Vert understood nothing of it but the words 'work' and 'slave'.

[[My mother married someone with the last name of 'Friend'. It was 'Frund' or something like that, but it got changed when they moved to America way back when >.< ]]
[[It sounds like the 'Fem' in 'feminine' and then 'mend' So it sounds like Fem-mend. It's Norwegian for 'stranger']]
[[I just noticed that I spelt it wrong, it's 'Fremmed']]

Fremmed nearly ran into his father when the man stopped, but he halted himself in time. The teen saw that there was a sign in front of them that said 'green'. He gave a small cure under his breath. The whole reason he was here was because they needed another green-eyed Montecko.

The green-eyed ones were always the weakest, and last winter, many of his father's had died from cold or sickness. There was only three left, and his father needed at least five if he hoped to have all the seeds planted in time. Fremmed didn't like the green-eyes because they were trusted the most. They neither had the strength or will-power to hurt one of their masters, and they were allowed inside the house on some occasions.

Fremmed didn't trust the Monteckos, being able to hear their words let him know that they would plan sometimes. It worried him that one day they might be able to revolt against their human owners.

His father started walking to the slave trader who was standing beside the sign that said 'green' and started talking to him.
