I think that this is a bug, but whenever I change my avatar's appearance it won't save. I keep trying but it won't change. When I click the "Repair" button, my avatar is set back to default.
HA stands for Human Avatar. There is a save button where you change the physical appearance. However to make these show up you must also save your HA in the wardrobe.
