"No, just in love."

Stefan turned back to Ron. "Do you have a problem with me, Weasley? I don't recall doing anything to you." 

Melanie looked up at Damon, smiling softly. "Thanks."

Ron rolled his eyes. "Nope, no problem..." He started, then stopped. He seemed to get a boost of confidence, and said, "Actually, you know what? Yeah. I do. Considering the fact that you stole my girl!"

Hermione seemed appalled by this. "Ron, I was never yours!"

Ron sighed. "But you were going to be..." His eyes stared into Hermione's angry-looking ones.

"It was to my knowledge that you hadn't made any advances towards her. So I coouldn't have stolen what wasn't yours in the first place. You lost your chance, now it's my turn." Stefan growled back, his eyes flashing darkly.

"Is there something you children would like to say, since you are interupting me?" Severus asked, quirking an eyebrow at the group. The whole class turned towards them.

"Ron, calm yourself." Damon said. 

"Weasley, just shut up." Melanie rolled her eyes at the boy, and Ron growled, but said nothing else. He looked away from the group.

Hermione looked up at Stefan. "I'm so sorry," She said, upset.

"No, don't be." Stefan replied softly, cracking a smile. He looked up at Severus. "No sir, I'm sorry for my interruption."

"That's what I thought." Severus smirked. 

Stefan leaned towards her, pecking her lips quickly as Severus turned.

"Saw that." He muttered. 

Melanie tried so hard not to come back with something like 'Like you haven't done worse' or something. She giggled at the thought of embarassing him.

Hermione ignored Snape, wrapping her arms around Stefan and pulling him into a hug. He was great. She liked him a lot...

Damon looked at Melanie. "You sure you're alright?"

Stefan hugged her back, letting go when Severus glared at them. "And that's... Let's see... thirty points from Gryffindor." 

Melanie sighed. "For the time being."

Hermione once again felt upset. Never before had she had that many points taken away from Gryffindor on her behalf. "Sorry, sir," She mumbled.

"He took the points away because of me, you know." Stefan said, kissing her temple.

"No worries, only twelve more hours." 

"Sounds like a lifetime." Melanie sighed. "On a brighter note, I am happy to be hanging out with everyone." She managed another smile.

"But it's my fault the whole thing started."

"Hey hey, you can do it." Damon assured.

"It's not your fault he's jealous." 

"Yeah, you're right. I can handle it." Melanie smiled genuinely this time.

"I suppose, but I still feel bad."

Stefan pouted. "Don't."

"There we go." Damon chuckled, stnading as class was dismissed. 

Hermione shrugged. "I just don't want you to not want to be around me because of him." She looked in the direction that Ron had run out of.

Melanie laughed with him. "I've gotta plan now. I have no idea what we're gonna do tonight."

"No worries, he won't stop me." Stefan smiled.

"Uh, party?" Damon suggested. 

Melanie's eyes brightened at the word 'party.' "Perfect!" She squealed.

Hermione smiled back. "Sorry," She said one more time, and then kissed him on the cheek.
