Thunderstrike cocked his head. "She won't mind," he said as he started to nibble on the mouse. His blue eyes locked onto the apprentices.

Spiritflame mewed slightly and shook her head as her triangular ears swivled on her head. "Five more minutes please," she muttered softly as she rolled over to her other side. Sprigs of moss clung to her light gray pelt.

Flamestripe came awake when he heard Timberfall try to wake his mother. Licking stray hairs down, he padded pas-sed Spiritflame to his father and the three apprentices at the fresh-kill pile. "Good morning. Cold, isn't it?" he asked, his tail tip flicking slightly.

Shadefire stuck her head out of the storage of the den. Her golden-ish eyes brightening. "Hello, Rainpaw. Can I help you?" she asked as she squeezed out of the crevice that hid all the herbs from the kits. A few oak leaves were stuck to her black pelt.

Skypaw looked up at her mentor, "Sort of," she mewed happily. "But the weather is still nicer than last season's." Skypaw always felt more comfortable around her mentor, but she wasn't sure why.

Earthpaw looked up as her denmate Rainpaw padded into the Medicine Cat's den. "Hey!" she called enthusiastically, a large change from her normall tactiturn attitude. She padded over to her friend (?) and nuzzled the she-cat's cheek softly after Rainpaw had re-bound her paw. "What's wrong with Grayears?" she murmured in her friend's ear softly.

{~} Grayears is just the random name for that random elder...o3o {~}

Scorchpaw was about to say something when the deputy appeared, telling Thunderstrike to go to Spiritflame. "Well...now that she's awake already..." he trailed off, unsure of what to say to the senior warrior now.

Leafstorm sighed and padded over to Timberfall, nuzzling her father's cheek. "Hunting patrol? I do need to get out," she mewed happily. She glanced at the loving look in Skypaw's eyes as the apprentice gazed at her mentor and stiffled a small purr. 

((Friend is fine. :3 If you don't mind Rainpaw's stubborn solemn-ness.))

The white she-cat's ears perked up as Earthpaw entered the den, nuzzling her cheek in a friendly greeting. "Hey. I think he got white cough." She whispered back, smiling a little. Earthpaw was basically her only friend, so her mood always brightened when they were together. "I was just asking Shadefire if he needed any catnip or feverfew. You should come too, if he does." Rainpaw said almost happily.

Earthpaw nodded, "Only if Spiritflame lets me though...but I think she's going on a hunting patrol. I'd love to help." At this last bit, she looked at Shadefire with a small grin on her face. "I'll help to the best of my abilities." Earthpaw loved to help her Clan, so long as it stuck with the warrior code.

Flamestripe nodded. "Yes it is," he agreed. His mis-matched eyes shimmered slightly when he caught Skypaw's happy mew.

Thunderstike looked back at the warrior's den. Spiritflame was still sleeping. "Spiritflame, come share this mouse with me!" he called, "Before I eat it all." That last part got the light gray she-cat moving. Padding out of the den, she nuzzled Thunderstrike with her nose before settling down next to him to eat.

Shadefire glanced at Greyears. Padding closer to Rainpaw, she said; "I'm going to give him some feverfew since I am running out of catmint, can you go get me some?" she asked the white apprentice before her.

"What are we doing today anyways?" she asked, literally bouncing with hyperactive excitement. Her coat still had the fluffy fur of a kit, but today she had managed to tame it down to a sleek and shining pelt.

Earthpaw followed Rainpaw out and padded up to her mentor, who was still in the warrior's den. "Can I go gather herbs with Rainpaw?" she asked softly as not to wake the other sleeping warriors.

Rainpaw followed Earthpaw over to Spiritflame, smiling gingerly at the couple sharing a mouse. It was a secret even to Earthpaw, but Rainpaw longed for the time when she would have someone that would eat fresh-kill and share tounges with her as a mate. More to that, she couldn't wait until she had kits, wondering if she would end up following in her mother's footsteps and finding her love as an apprentice. Then she would have kits as soon as she was a warrior. That made the white cat frown a little. That would mean another 12-or-so moons before she could be a warrior, laying around waiting for her kits to grow up. 

[[ -whispers to Det- Spiritflame is with her mate. ]]

Shadefire's golden eyes shone. "Thanks Rainpaw!" she called after the white apprentice.

Spiritflame looked up from the mouse she was sharing with Thunderstrike. Glancing at Earthpaw, she pondered about it. "Of course you may Earthpaw. And while your out there, take a stab at working on your hunter's crouch," she said mewing softly. Her tone still sounded tired.

Flamestripe purred in amusement. "Well first, you can calm down while I decide what you need to work on," he said continuing to purr as he watched his apprentice bounce around on her paws.

Earthpaw saw the look of longing on Rainpaw's face but decided not to mention it. If it was important, her friend would have mentioned it long ago to Earthpaw. She instead yawned a little and stretched out one foreleg, the one she had twisted abot five moons back. It felt slightly tight but still good enouh to hunt and fight on.

Skypaw stopped bouncing up and down, though her tail still waved about. "Sorry Flamestripe," she said guiltily, feeling a hot flush spread from tail-tip to nose-tip as her mentor reprimanded her. While Flamestripe was thinking, Skypaw sat down and licked a paw, dragging it down her spray of whiskers to make her seem neater and cleaner. Feeling an itch on her left leg, she twisted around and nibbled at the tick that was sucking her blood, feeling immense satisfaction as she crunched it's tiny body between her teeth.

Stormhunt sat under a shady tree and licked at his paw to wash his ear. He felt lazy again today and really didn't feel like doing anything. He didn't even want to track down Scorchpaw to give him some warrior training. Why had he been given an apprentice again? He sighed. He didn't really mind Scorchpaw, he was just too lazy sometimes to train him. Usually the guilt of holding his apprentice back got his tail in gear, but not today. He yawned.

Oakcloud was doing what he did best, being up a tree and being an idiot. He was watching the whole camp and area around it from above, watching for any signs of trouble or enemy attack. He wouldn't allow any problems. He peered down at Stormhunt, who was sitting right under him. He wondered if he should pounce on him for being so negligent of his duties. If he didn't in the next ten minutes he would.

Creampaw was still sleeping in the apprentices' den. Usually he wasn't so lazy but he was tired! He was curled up in the far back in a tight ball. It was colder back there and his fur wasn't the thickest, but at least he didn't get kicked by twitchy sleepers.

Tigerpaw yawned and stretched out on his bed in the medicine cat's den. He had just woken up and he blinked sleepily. How long had he been sleeping? he wondered. He stood up and shook some bedding from his fur, stretching out and digging his claws into the ground. He padded out of the den and saw Shadefire asking other apprentices to gather herbs. Wasn't that his job? His tail drooped. Shadefire had probably thought he'd mess it up somehow so that's why she had let him sleep. 

Flamestripe nodded slowly as he thought. Sitting down, his tail swished a hair's breath away from the ground. "How about hunting?" he asked his apprentice. Though, the question itself was meant to challenge Skypaw in testing if she felt confident in her current skills.

Shadefire glanced at Tigerpaw just in time to see her apprentice's tail droop. Her heart went out to him as she padded up to the tiger-like tom. "Can you go with them to get some more chervil and oak leaves?" she asked as her tail gently flicked the apprentice on the shoulder.

Rainpaw purred quietly, then thanked Spiritflame, and beckoned with her tail to Earthpaw to follow her, padding towards the exit of their camp. She squirmed under the bramble "fencing" circling for protection, then stuck her head back under, waiting for Earthpaw. It was unlike her to speak, so she just flicked her tail, though no one could see it. Her fur still glistened brightly, and the quite-pretty she-cat yawned slightly.

Skypaw nodded, "You've had me training in battle skills for so long I though we were going to be invaded!" she joked, feeling glad about the chance to hunt. "But Timberfall just asked me to go on a hunting patrol. I think it's my as.sessment." Her tail drooped as she said this.

Earthpaw wriggled through the gorse barrier in a different place so she wouldn't bump into Rainpaw, and flicked her tail at her friend when she immediately scented the feverfew. 

"Here!" she called softly, in case she starteled any prey that might be there. Sure enough, as she spoke a mouse poked its head up right in front og her paws. Earthpaw slammed her claws onto it and felt it wriggle once before dying.

Timberfall glanced at Flamestripe and murmured under his breath to the tom, "She's excused from the hunting patrol. I want you to as.sess her today. Tell me once tou're back if you think she would be a good warrior. 

He then padded over to the tree which Stormhunt lay under. He cuffed the negligent tom over his ears, "Stormhunt! I want you to be out there training a future warrior, not lazing about. If it weren't for the threat of the rogues I would have held you back until you learned about responsibility!" 

Timberfall's eyes blazed with a riteous fury as he said this, tail whipping from side to side in anger.

Tigerpaw sifted his gaze to the side. He knew she was just pitying him. It didn't make him feel any better. "Yeah, sure," he said quietly. He padded away from her, heading after Rainpaw. Out of the corner of his eye he saw an elder warrior give him a nasty look and he bolted off, unable to stand the look. He scrambled under the bramble coming out on the other side with a sad look on his face.

Stormhunt winced as the deputy yelled at him. His ears pulled back against his head and he sighed. So much for being lazy. "I'll get right on it." he said, standing up and shaking his fur off. He padded past Timberfall and only glanced back once to give him a sincere look of apology before going off to look for Scorchpaw.
