The Elites dashed from cover to cover, firing their plasma repeaters at one Sentinel in particular. One of the Sentinels flew near one to fire at some Jackals and the Elites stuck it with several plasma grenades, taking out it's shields and badly damaging it. Several jackals overcharged the other one, although one was killed.

One of the Elites ran up and leaped at the sentinel, which flew to the side and lasered the Elite in the hip. The Elites shields flashed and it rolled to avoid fall damage. The jackals with needle rifles finished off the other Sentinel's shields, and the Sentinel tried to fall back behind cover, but was disorientated by Warthog fire and finished off by several more overcharges.

The Second Sentinel dashed about, avoiding most of the fire directed at it. The Elite tried a second jump, again getting shot down by the Sentinel. The Sentinel's gun was struck by several of Soz's shots, causing it to overload and detonate, ripping apart the Sentinel and taking out the Elite's shields entirely and taking out the shield of a nearby Jackal.

Soz ducked behind the rock as the Sentinel exploded. He slowly peeked over the rock before beginning to shoot at sentinels again.

The Warthog started off again shortly after the brief confrontation. The Elites grumbled some insults at the Jackals in Sangheli before following rapidly after. The Jackals cowered for a bit longer before following.

The Warthog drove slowly, heading around the wreckage of a Wraith, clearly destroyed by Sentinels.

A huge Enforcer Sentinel lay on the other side of the Wraith with the bodies of several grunts and skirmishers. Two Elite Rangers were crushed underneath the Forerunner machine. Resnov whistled as they drove past the burning scene.

The sound of flood and Sentinel's fighting was now audible, and appeared to be coming from the direction the Sentinels had all been heading. A huge Enforcer Sentinel and several aggressor Sentinels flew overhead, firing at a UNSC Hornet squad being pulled towards the Palace. Plasma fired inaccurately up at them, but the Sentinels bombarded the area the fire had come from and moved on. "Well, better that they are fighting each other than us." Patrise remarked sourly.

There was a series of massive explosions in the direction the Sentinels had head and the gurgling of thousands of flood. Sentinel beams could be heard and plasma shots flew into the air. "From practical silence to all out war in an instant-I nearly had a heart attack!" Jenkins said, clutching his chest. "Weak human." One of the Elites grumbled.
