((OK Guiven. I guess I'm start them...hehe that rhymed.))

Suri lept over a fallen over moss covered log and landed in a crouching position slight slid marks in the osft dirt. His large ears swivled around his mouth open a bit to catch any scent of pey in the area. It was his day to hunt for the clan and so far hehadn't caguth all theat much, just a small snake. He padded silenetly over some moss that covered the jungle floor not making a sound. Suri's head whiped around as he heard a low rustle in a the bush next to him. He catiously stalked over towards it and right when he was about a foot or two away a bird burst out from the bush. Suri launched himself at the bird catching in his mouth by the wing and bringing the colorful animal to the ground and killing it quickly, "Thanks little guy." He whispered quietly to the now bloodied bird.

((Alright, I'll post our 1x1 thread, Dart, and we'll discuss things such as plot and characters there.))

Rana was watching the cat in front of her, though the only thing that hinted that she was watching him at all was the glint of her green-tinged yellow eyes, peering out through the shadows created by the thick, dense trees.

As he brought down the bird that he had been stalking, Rana's eyes widened. He was a skilled hunter. Better than she was, at least. For the past few weeks, Rana hadn't been able to find anything to eat, and now she was so thin that you could see each individual rib.

Currently, she wasn't a very pretty ocelot, but if she was healthy, she would be much better looking than she was in her current state.

She heard her stomach growl, and the thought of stealing the other cat's prey, the colorful bird, made her sigh. In an attempt to sneak up on him, she started to slink close to the ground.

However, she didn't make it within ten feet of the other cat and his prey before she stepped on a dry twig, which, surprisingly enough, snapped under her miniscule weight.

----------

Everest yellow eyes opened and closed slowly as he fought the drowsiness that was quickly overcoming him. With a belly full of something that had earlier resembled a rabbit, which was currently nothing  but a half-eaten bloody corpse about two feet in front of him, it was hard to keep his eyes open.

Finding a comfortable spot on the forest floor, he padded down the leaves and soft dirt under his paws, and curled up into a ball, his tail curled around his nose, feet tucked into his body, closed his eyes, and drifted off into a peaceful slumber.

((OK thanks. I'll be on it in a minute.))

Suri looked about as he heard the twig snap somewhere around him. With all the distant noises he couldn't be quite sure which specific direction the snap had come fom but he could tell that it was closer than other animals were. Suri quickly dug up a hole and put the mangled bird carcass in it before putting some dirt over and then crouching down swivling his ears about trying to see if he catch the animals breathing or something to tell him that something was there. He stalked in the direction that the snap had come from slowly starting to hear the quiet breathes of another being close by. They he saw the yellow green eyes catching the bits of sun that cawled through the gaps in the leaves above.

He stuck his noes into the bush bewteen him and the other animal, "Hello." He said sweetly with a warm smile as he stuck his whole head through to see the other ocelot.

Rana nearly jumped out of her skin. She hadn't been able to see the other ocelot due to the bush that she had been hiding behind. And the last thing that she expected was for him to greet her kindly with a warm smile, and say something as casual as "Hello." After all, she'd just tried to steal his catch.

After a moment of contemplating what to do, Rana decided that the best thing to do was to carry on the conversation as if nothing had happened. That was easier said than done for Rana, for she wasn't exactly what one would call a "social butterfly."

In an attempt to save herself from any further embarassment, two words escaped Rana's lips.

"Hi there."

Suri looked at the cat and cringed a bit as he saw most of her skelatal structure, "Do you need something to eat?" He asked sitting down on his haunches the warm smile reapearing on his muzzle. His ears twitched as if they had a mind of their own his tal flicking around behind him too. Suri tilted his head to the other feline still looking at her small frame and nearly muscleless body.

"You look terrible." He said without thinking, "I mean really skinny but not the good kind of skinny. Not that any skinny is eally a good thing." Suri started to ramble a little bit but stopped himself before he got too carried away, "Sorry."

Rana became more and more embarassed with each word that came out of Suri's mouth, and she nodded slowly to each sentence he completed, including the question that he first asked her.

If there was one thing that she needed at that moment, it was food.

Plus, the lack of body fat made her constantly cold at night, even though it got dreadfully hot in the forest. Yawning, Rana sat back on her haunches, her bony front legs functioning as columns to support her.

Suri got up and dug up the bird figuring that this cat would benefit more from the meat than his clan would anyway. He dropped it down in front of her before sitting back down, "Whats your name?" He asked tilting his head again, "I'm Suri." He added.

((Ugg mega fail post. Sorry.))

As soon as the bird was set down in front of her, Rana tore into the bird like a child opening a christmas present. Soon, her mouth was stained with crimson blood, and she was becoming full.

Between mouthfulls of bird meat, Rana seemed to find an opportunity to answer Suri's question.

"I'm Rana."

"Nice to meet you Rana." Suri said with a smile. He chuckled as she ate the bird taking chunks out of it at a time and soon it was gone the bones nearly picked clean, "You sure were hungry." Suri said. Suri felt good about giving the birt to Rana though he felt like the clan might not agree. He didn't care about what they would say though since he felt that it had been the right thing to do.

Rana nodded and licked her lips clean, resituating herself so that her bulging stomach wouldn't be pushing against her ribcage.

She settled so that she was laying half-way on her side in front of Suri, her eyes staring into his.

"Nice to meet you too, Suri." She did a respectful nod.

Suri looked up at what she could see of the sky and groaned, "I don't want to go hunting anymore." He whined just like a kid as he slumped onto the ground, "Your way funner than hunting." He said to Rana looking to her with an unhappy expretion. His ears were flat against his skull and he kept his tail still.

((Warning, this post might be really long xD))

Ladri flicked her tail around as to help her balance on the thin log. Birds chirped from the treetop canopy, and she glanced up with wide, dark gold eyes. Occasionally a colorful shape would flutter from branch to branch, but it would usually disappear deeper into the tree. Ladri's ears were pricked, and her nose tingled as scent after scent wreathed around her. She had been born, and lived in the deep forest her whole life, but even now, she found the smells that came to her on the winds were still fresh and exciting.

Ladri carefully rocked back and forth on the branch, swiveling her ears around to listen behind her for her companions. Most of the cats she traveled with were around the same age as her, although Aera was little older than a kitten. Ladri purred as she felt sharp teeth sink into the tip of her tail, the little fuzzball Aera had materialized out of the gloom, almost as if she'd been summoned by Ladri's thoughts. Ladri shifted her weight further down the branch so there was room for Aera to climb down and perch next to her. The young Ocelot clambered up onto Ladri's back, and then pushed off, but slipped dangling on the thin limb, her front claws dug deep into the wood while her hind feet dangled precariously in the open air.

"You should be more careful," Ladri murmured softly. She bent her neck, and the rare patch sunlight streamed down from the thick canopy, catching her dappled pelt. She took little notice however, and proceeded to sink the tips of her canines into Aera's scruff in order to haul her up. The younger cat mewled in protest, but allowed Ladri to pull her onto the branch.

"Thanks," Aera muttered in a shrill voice once she had situated herself on the limb. Ladri nuzzled her shoulder affectionately. She looked over her shoulder and trained her eyes on the gloom, where the form of another adult ocelot was just visible, stretched out contently on a huge leaf.  Twenty feet below, the forest floor stretched out below the resting cats, leaves rustled as snakes and other small animals went about their daily business. Ocelots were more active at night, and Ladri's clan preferred to rest up high, away from the ground where less predators could reach them.

The other cat nodded--at least Ladri thought she did, it was hard to tell, but a cool voice spoke from the leaf: "Aera has improved her skills, especially at climbing," the other cat mused. "Perhaps tonight I should let her hunt on her own." The other cat's eyes glinted as she stood up and stretched out even further.

Ladri studied the other ocelot, almost wary. "Yes Ophiera, I believe that she is ready." Ophiera's eyes narrowed slightly, and Ladri got the sense she was studying her, and that thought made her nervous. She didn't like being watched. "Good, I'll go find Ladron, you may start you descent and begin your hunt," the adult cat ordered. Ladri almost sighed in relief as she stood, and slipped off the branch. Ophiera scared her sometimes, but she also did a good job leading the clan, so the others respected her. Ladron was another young ocelot, and he was the only male in the clan. He usually rested closer down to the ground, as he was slightly afraid of heights. He also annoyed Ladri a lot, so she decided that it would be better to get moving before Ophiera woke him up for hunting.

Ladri leaped lightly down to another branch, and continued in this manor for several minutes. About six feet away from the ground, she paused and bunched her muscles. She sprang off the branch and launched herself down, where she landed neatly on all fours. Ladri looked up again, and thought she might have seen Aera watching her, but the gleaming eyes disappeared quickly, so Ladri couldn't be sure whether the young ocelot had been watching her or not. "So, time to catch myself something to eat," she muttered to herself, and slunk away into the gloom, shadows bending around her as she slid along the forest floor.
