Personality: Mello is a very intelligent child, and often uses words that the other children don't know. He is also very quick to anger, however, and seems to be a bit depressed beneath his rash, angry exterior.

Other: He is an orphan that resides at WAmmy's House, an orphanage for mentally gifted children such as Mello. He is ranked as number 2 in the orphanage in line to succeed L, who is the greatest detective in the world. Mello works very hard, but is always surpas$ed by another resident named NEar, who is a year or two younger than he is. It drives Mello CRAZY.
