[[ ... Yes, yes it is. o.o -shot- |D ]]

My mind was still in a daze as I walked towards the reception. The wedding, the husband and the "I do"s were still on my mind. Not to mention the extremely awkward kiss to finalize it. Well, maybe it was just awkward to her, kissing a stranger in front of a huge crowd. A very handsome stranger at that.

My bridesmaids swarmed me and I walked towards my parents table. They all had smiles that looked nearly painted on. I heard questions nearly shouted from their mouths, though I did not answer any of them. How was the kiss, Are you excited to be married, and everything else they could think of was none of their business.

"Father, dance with me," I asked my father in attempt to get away from the annoying girls surrounding me. I could see his eyes light up as he stood up. He was so proud his little Princess could be just like him. He took my hand and led me to the dance floor, where many other couples were dancing as well.

"Where is your new husband?" He inquired softly. My father is a big man, with a strong presence and voice; so, to hear him speak softly was something new to me.

"I haven't a clue, Father," I said back to him. "I must have 'lost' him on the way here. My Bridesmaids were around me the whole time."

As I danced, I kept my eyes open for my new husband. It felt weird to say. Mrs. Cain: My new name. Perhaps one day I can learn to love this stranger. Perhaps one day he may learn to love me.

My mother had warned me that this was the worst part of the wedding ceremony. Kissing a woman, or man, you've never met in front of a crowd of people. I didn't know how her voice sounded, or how it felt with her hand clasped against mine. I didn't know if her eyes shined when she looked at me, or if I could smile just thinking about her.

Seeing that those were my predicaments, I gave her just a feather light kiss. Turning to my mother, she gave me a discreet thumbs up that only I could see. Goodness, no wonder my father married her. She was such a good woman.

As the reception began, I was already taken to the dance floor by a young lady. At wedding receptions, you were too dance with everyone there. After finishing a song with her, I actually did want to find my new bride.

Seeing her dancing with her father, I hesitantly came over. Tapping a finger on the big man's shoulder, I cleared my throat, gave my serious demeanor to the man, just like my father would have, and said,
"Would you mind a dance?"

I asked Princess Wilson, my hand stretched out to her just as a new song began.

The dance with my father was great. I rarely ever had time with my mother and father, as I was practically raised by my maid. Even though I was attached to her in many ways, no one could take the place of my true parents. My father never being mad at me even when I was in trouble, my mother always being there for advise, and we even had a dog: Galloway. Oh, how I loved that dog.

At that moment I heard someone clear their throat, snapping me out of my train of thought. It just happened to be my husband. I could feel the smile forming upon my face as I heard him asking me to dance.

"Why of course," I stated, kissing my father on his cheek before taking Prince Cain's hand. I heard the new song start, but my smile had not faded. Sure, I might have been married to this man I didn't know, but I was definitely going to make the best of it.

Ooc:

Sorry. Sometimes I only reply to a couple of role plays  per day; seeing as I have so many. I kind of have to choose which I'm replying too that day. D|

Bic;

For some reason, a silent sigh of relief came through my lips as she grabbed my hand. Seeing as I've never spoken to her before in my life, I guess I was just worried that my own bride would have the nerve to reject to dance with me

I've been raised in a home with talents. My mother was a natural with the organ, my father was talented with dancing. My sister could play the violin like a pro.

And, not to tute my own horn, but I was well with all three.

My hand lay gently on her waist, while the other stayed in her hand. With a charming smile slipping through my lips, I said,

"Well it's finally nice to meet my bride, Princess Cain."

[[ That totally makes sense. ^-^ ]]

As the Prince laid his hand very gentlemanly-like upon my waist I felt an odd sense of security. I soon felt blood rush to my face as he called my by his last name. Of course he would; my name was no longer my own.

"It's nice to have met you too, Prince Cain," I finally said after a moment of thought. "I've been dying to ask... How does it feel to have a bride?"

That very thought had been nagging at me since the wedding. I had no idea of how I felt about being married. I guess you could say I was a bundle of emotions: Frightened, mostly, but along with some excitement, nervousness, and perhaps a little bit of joy.

How did it feel to have a bride?

Well, I chose my words carefully, for I had no desire to insult her. But, honestly, I was not thrilled at all. I felt like my life had been taken out of my hands, and put into my fathers; him redirecting where I went and what I did when I did it.

"Princess Cain, it came so sudden, I... I'm still in shock to know how I feel."

I said with a small smile before adding,
"But, I must say, I am more then grateful that they had chosen me to marry you out of all the others."

Maybe start the sweet talk now. Before she gets all into a nag of a wife.

I had nothing to say to that at first. He had commented me, though I felt it was only half-hearted. I gave Prince Cain a smile to avoid an awkward silence; it seemed that was the course of the conversation.

I looked over Prince Cain's shoulders and searched for my father outside of the dance floor. He was wearing a grin that only a proud father could. Only he could be proud of practically selling his only daughter to Cain's Kingdom. I then caught my mother's approving eye. This was going to be a long night.

"Well, Prince Cain, were your parents married under an arrangement as well?" I finally asked him after a moment or so.

I was glad she didn't take me fully seriously at my comment. It meant she wasn't as prideful as some Princesses can be.

At her question about my parents, I could feel a smile on my lips.
"Yes, they did."
I said, still hoping that Princess Cain and I will somehow become inseparable and one. Just like them.

I nodded at his comment. His parents were arranged, just like mine. If only my parents felt for eachother what Prince Cain's did. The last time I had been updated, so to speak, upon their marriage, it had not gone well. You would think after years of being together, you would fall in love, but I guess some couples just weren't meant to be.

Prince Cain's smile was so contagious. I could feel my own smile tugging at the corners of my lips.

"They look like such a happy couple," I finally commented, smiling at the site of his happy parents.

I turned my head to glance at my parents, who were dancing as we were. Goodness, that was all I wanted. I could see my father's discreet smile - he was a serious sort, but always smiled for my happy go lucky mother. Opposites, yet completely one.
"Yeah..."
I whispered, before looking back down at her.
"To be honest, they were the ones that gave me advice with... All this arraignment. So let's hope I'll do it right."

I was kidding, of course. I knew I'd do it all wrong. I had no idea what I was doing, and dancing was probably the only real way we'd be able to connect, since I was horrible any other way.
"How about your parents?"

I asked Princess Cain.

I couldn't help but giggle at Prince Cain's comment. That was one of the things that I hated: My cute, little-girl giggle.

"My parents?" I asked, returning to my normal state. "They had an arranged marriage as well; but, I guess you could say it didn't quite go as planned." I shrugged my shoulders slightly at the comment, trying to not make it sound to serious.

The way she spoke of her parents piqued my interest.

"Whatever do you mean?"

I asked, looking back at the two for just a glance before looking back down at her, curious.

I bit my lip as he inquired about my parents marriage. After all, in public, they were happily married. Then again, I didn't feel right keeping it from him.

"Well," I started slowly, picking my words carefully. "They are two very different people with two very different likes and dislikes." I left it at this, not really wanting to go into detail. It wasn't my business in the first place.
