[[ I had no clue what was happening. I was like, where did she get a pillow? They didn't have one in the story? Then I was like... I really need a life. ;-;
Then I fell asleep again. xD
And do tell? :3 ]]
Zane arched his eyebrows in surprise at the girl's comment. What he took from it was that she would like his shirt off, she just didn't want to move because of it. Fair enough. If he were Zera, he wouldn't want to move from his sexy-beast self either. He chuckled from the thought.
"If you really wanted me shirtless, Princess, you could have just asked," He teased her with a laugh. He paused for a moment, realizing she had made the shirtless comment first. That amused him. "But, alas, I'm not a magician. Unless I rip it from my body, it looks like you'll have to do with the shirt on."
Zane looked down at Zera and grinned. He was sure he could go shirtless for a night if she asked. He had a spare on the horse. He hadn't realized until that moment that he was absentmindedly rubbing circles with his thumb on her waist. He immediately stopped, leaving his hand motionless once again.

Zera rolled her eyes as Zane said that she could have just asked. The boy seemed to have no problems with modesty so far, so she had no doubts he would've completed her request had she asked. When he said that he could just rip it off of himself, it sounded like an interesting scene. She, laying on his chest, peaceful and warm, and him, ripping his shirt off so that more warmth could be transferred to her.
Though she would like him with his shirt off, she simply did not want to move from her place. Plus, she wasn't sure exactly what would happen if the clothes started coming off. She may even be prompted to take her shirt off. That wouldn't end well, either.
"Well, that's just terrible, isn't it. I guess I'll just have to do without your bare chest and settle for your shirt being on," Zera said, grinning. She didn't close her eyes again. Now that they had joked around a bit, she wasn't all that sleepy. However, leaving the tent would be suicide for a girl like her, so she would have to stay cooped up in the tent with Zaniell until the storm passed.
Ooc:// I had this weird dream where I was my character, Onyxia, in a 1x1 that was based off of the hunger games. I did the whole scene in the roleplay where she barfed her guts out because of all of the rich food. XD It wasn't a good dream at all.
Then, I had this other dream where I was a by-stander in a roleplay, simply watching my character have a conversation with my friend's character.
Both of those dreams were weird.

Zane couldn't help but smile with Zera. Her smile was contagious, especially when she was that close. He removed one of his hands from her and placed it behind his head, as his own pillow. For a moment, he traced the tattoo lines on his bicep with his eyes. It had been such a long time since he had gotten them, he barely remembered what they meant.
Zaniell looked back down at Zera and smiled again. "It's your loss, Princess," He said jokingly about his shirt not coming off. "Just remember that," He added with a laugh. Once again, he found himself rubbing circles on her clothed skin. He just thought whatever about it and continued.
Zane couldn't believe it. He was nervous. That's why he was absentmindedly doing small things, trying to keep himself busy. The Princess was actually making him nervous. He couldn't remember the last time he had felt that emotion. He was hardly nervous when he was human as well. Curse it. He wondered how this one girl could change him in a short amount of time.

Zera sighed and tapped her fingers on Zane's side, feeling the muscles there protest against her tapping. She could feel the trail of warmth that his thumb left where it touched on her skin. Her slate eyes looked nervously away from his face and to the area where she could see a small sliver of exposed skin on Zane's torso.
Tribal tattoos seemed to cover him almost everywhere, Zera thought. Her eyes stared at the area for a few seconds before she actually caught herself. She was staring. At Zane's hip. She could even see some of his abs. She tore her eyes away and let out a shaky breath.
She chewed on her lip and looked up at Zane's face again, just remembering that Zane had mentioned that her father had something to do with all of this mess. She had forgotten to ask him about it. "You said that my father had something to do with you kidnapping me. What does he have to do with all of this?"
Ooc:// If he tells her, Zera's probably going to end up having the mother of all emotional breakdowns.

[[ o.o
Then Zane can comfort her? ;-; ]]
Zane jerked out from under Zera's prodding fingers. Why? Because he was an extremely ticklish person. How embarrassing. A ticklish vampire. He was a joke to the supernatural society. He chewed on the inside of his cheek as he watched Zera's movements. He watched as she looked from his face to his exposed belly. Her gaze lingered, making the vampire grin ear to ear. Then the shaky breath... He wondered how much trouble he would be in later.
Then the Princess mentioned her father. Zane's face was completely emotionless as he debated on how to tell her, or if he even should. But, it wouldn't be fair for the Princess not to know what was going on. He wondered if she would hate her father after the story, or him. It was a toss up between heads and tails.
After a sigh, Zane started to speak. "You know the legend of Tallulah - The Leaping Lake? King Arthur's sword and such. I'm sure you do, it's a common-told story." He paused. "There is another legend that few know of. It is told if you sacrifice one of the royal family to the Gods of the lake, you get one wish." Another pause. "Let's just say that your father would do anything for immortality..."

Ooc:// Of course. XD
Bic://
Zera wasn't sure why Zane was mentioning the legend of Tallulah and the Leaping Lake. She knew all about that. Her Nanny had told her about that as a child. She then furrowed her brows as he spoke of a lesser known legend. The first thing that came to mind was that Zaniell wanted to sacrifice her for a wish, and that made her face heat up with anger.
But her heart dropped as Zaniell finished the sentence. She felt a pain in her chest. Was this what it felt like to be betrayed? Zera didn't know. She just knew it felt like someone was stabbing her with a white-hot sword, impaling her like some sort of meat being cooked over an open fire. Her ears rang for a moment, and she sat up from the blankets and her comfortable spot on Zane to peer down at him.
"What? No...." She felt tears well in her eyes. "My father would never do that...." She felt several drip down her cheeks, falling onto her lap. "No... No!" Her voice rose as she put her hands to her face, pulling her knees up to her chest and wrapping her arms around them, burying her face in her knees. "No..." Her voice was merely a murmur on the last 'no.'

Zane grimaced as Zera reacted. He felt horrible because she wasn't angry at him, yet, anyways. But, the King deserved her anger, not him. He set his mouth in a firm line as the Princess repeated 'no' several times. He flat out frowned when she curled up into a ball and started crying. He was a sucker for tears.
Wordlessly, Zane behind Zera, sat down, and wrapped his arms around her. He set his chin on her shoulder, but didn't say a thing. First of all, he didn't know what to say. Second of all, he believed she needed a moment to accept what he had told her, if she would at all. Hearing that your father wanted to sacrifice you so he could live longer... That's a lot to take in.
"When I first started this mission, Zera," Zane murmured to her softly, still holding her in his strong arms, "I was going to do it. But... you changed my mind. I would never, and will never harm you." He paused.
Zane just wanted to face the Princess and have her cry on his shoulder. He wanted to wipe away her tears and promise everything was going to be okay. He hated seeing her tears, though she had an excellent reason to be shedding them.

Zera ever-so-slightly calmed down when she felt Zaniell's arms wrap around her. He was comforting her, it seemed. She never would have thought of it. Sure, she knew he was a muscular, humorous, tickle-monster of a vampire, but she never thought that he would be the type to comfort a crying girl.
Her breathing was uneven, and she let out several choked sobs before hearing his words in her ear. So at first he was willing to sacrifice her, but she had changed his mind? It was a strange thought. Just strange all together. What had she done to change his mind? She was curious about that, but she wouldn't ask.
She simply readjusted herself so that she was sitting sideways and leaned the side of her head against Zaniell's shoulder. "My father was so nice to me, though. He would always come up to my room and tell me goodnight. He raised me with love, and.... He wants to sacrifice me..." She let the sobs pick up again and she let the tears fall freely, not bothering to hold them back.

Zane listened to Zera's words and felt like a stake went through his heart. Sadness filled every crevice of himself, then anger. He had loved his children, unconditionally. He would gladly give up immortality just to have been able to watch them grow up, along with his wife. He would give it all away for his family again.
Zane stroked Zera's long hair with one hand, trying to comfort her. He brought his other hand up and cupped her cheek in his palm. Using his thumb, he gently wiped her tears away. He hated to see her in this much pain.
"Shh," Zaniell said in a calming tone. "It'll be okay," He murmured to her softly. He moved his hand from her cheek to the intersection between her neck and shoulder. He was overwhelmed with emotions at that point. Ever since he had fed from Zera, his emotions were more in tune with hers. He couldn't help but wonder if all vampires felt this with their food, or if it was just the two.

Zera calmed down as Zane stroked her hair. Something about this man just seemed to calm her down when she was in the worst of times. Perhaps it was the electric feeling that was between them. She sighed shakily as his hand found its way to her cheek and rubbed away some of her tears.
She swallowed the lump that had formed in her throat and calmed down even more as Zane murmured comforting things to her. Even though she wasn't really sure if she would be okay, she would have to trust him on that. She had been betrayed by her own father, and if she returned to the kingdom, she would most likely end up dead one way or another.
Returning home was not an option, and the only person she had contact with outside of the castle was Zaniell. She put her hands on his chest, clenching his shirt, and finally dried her tears, though she was still dreadfully sad. The man that was her father, the one who raised her for sixteen years, had betrayed her for one wish.
"If you're not going to the lake to sacrifice me, then where are we going?" She sniffled.

Zane contemplated her question. Where were they going? Well, he certainly didn't know. He truly had wanted to go to Tallulah Lake, just to say that he had. But, he was almost sure that Zera wouldn't want to go to the place her father wanted to kill her at. So, where were they going? He had no clue.
"I have friends all across the Kingdom," Zane said slowly, choosing his words carefully. "We cannot return to the castle, but we can go almost anywhere else. We can travel the world, if that's what you want." Zane paused. I'd follow you anywhere, he added in his mind.
"But you don't have to decide now, Zera," Zane said, making sure she knew that he wasn't pressuring her to choose at that instant. Zane hesitated for but a moment, then placed a quick, but tender, kiss on the Princess' forehead.

Zera was surprised at what Zane said. He always said 'we', as if he knew that she knew she would be in deep trouble without him. She blinked a few times as a lone tear fell out of her eye and rested on her cheekbone- the last tear.
She chewed on her lip absentmindedly as Zaniell said that they could even travel the world. It was an appealing idea, she decided. Perhaps she would do that. But she wasn't sure she was ready to decide anything at this point. She just knew that the snowstorm outside was almost like it didn't exist. Zane's warmth, with his arms being around her, and their closer-than-normal proximity eliminated the bite of the cold weather.
She was relieved as he stated that she didn't have to decide then. Her relief was followed with light surprise. He had called her by her first name. Not princess, or Princess Zera. He'd just called her Zera. If only he knew how that made her heart skip a beat. Even Zera didn't know why it made her heart act funnily.
She blushed deeply when she felt his lips come into contact with her forehead, feeling like butterflies were running rampant in her stomach. She sighed and looked at Zaniell's arms, reaching out with a finger to trace the tribal tattoos that littered his skin. She traced all the way from his wrist, up to his elbow, and half-way up to his shoulder from there, stopping to look at Zane.
"Does this bother you?" she asked, vaguely remembering him asking her the same question not long ago.

Zane smiled as Zera blushed from his kiss. He had surprised himself with it, even; he couldn't imagine how she was reacting from it. But, oddly enough, she didn't comment, nor anything else. He took it as she didn't mind the small kiss he had given her. Well, that's what he hoped, anyways.
As Zera traced his tattoos up his arm, Zane shut his eyes. He marveled in the strange energy that passed through them as she traced that black markings. Then she said something. He didn't quite catch it. Something bothering... What?
Zane cracked one eye open to look at the Princess. "Hmm?" He paused for a moment to find an answer. Then he finally processed what she had said. "No, not at all," He said, looking into her slate colored eyes once more. "It feels.... nice."

Zera was surprised to see Zane's eyes closed. She almost smiled at it, seeing that she wasn't the only one that was either extremely relaxed around the other, or extremely nervous. A ghost of a smile curved her dark pink lips, and she turned her eyes back to his tattoos.
So he had no problem with her tracing the tattoos. It was good. The way that the tattoos curved around his muscles and his arms was intricate. It must have taken the tattooer ages to complete them. She also found that tracing the tattoos was much like working through a maze. She stopped half-way up his bicep and began to trace them back downwards.
It was interesting to know that you would be stuck with someone who had recently kidnapped you, bitten you, and comforted you- even kissed your forehead. It was definitely something Zera could confidently say she had never experienced before. Nor had she met anyone who went through her same predicament. She traced the tattoos back up again and stopped at his shirt sleeve.
"Do they go onto your chest, too?" She looked up to him, curiosity playing on her face.

"Still trying to get me out of my shirt, I see," Zane teased her, a grin playing on his lips. He chuckled at her comment, then realized she was completely serious. He sobered up instantly and shrugged. "I have them practically everywhere," He said, as if it were perfectly normal. "Took me years to get them all, too." He winced at the memory of the nights he had spent up because of the pain. But still, it had been worth it. If he recalled right, many of the tattoos signified health and protection in some way.
"Would you like to see them?"
Zane wasn't teasing her; he was serious. He hadn't shown someone his tattoos in a long time, and Zera was actually curious about them. How could he say no to that face? Oh wait. That's right; he couldn't.

Zera pursed her lips together as he teased her about her still wanting him out of his shirt. She sort of did want him to still take it off. He would be much warmer- that much she knew. And, in return, she would be much warmer. Perhaps his warmth would even lull her to sleep, and make the time she had to spend in the tent pass by faster.
She slowly pulled her finger away from the tattoo on his arm and listened as he explained that he had them almost everywhere. She could only imagine the pain that he went through to obtain the tribal tattoos. If he had so many of them, she was sure that they must have had some sort of meaning. She would ask about the meaning later, though.
As he asked if she would like to see them, Zera felt her cheeks heat up a bit, only the slightest hint of a blush staining the skin there. He wasn't teasing her. She could tell that he was serious by his tone of voice. She chewed on the inside of her cheek and said, "If you wouldn't mind, I would like to see them."
Curiosity killed the cat, it seemed. Or, in this case, curiosity made a sexy vampire take his shirt off.

Zane smiled at her answer. He couldn't help but wonder if she really wanted to see the tattoos, or just see him shirtless. The question amused him to no end. But, he wasn't going to ask. That would be embarrassing, not just for him, but both of them.
"I don't mind at all," He then replied, giving Zera a small smile. He, reluctantly, pulled away from Zera. He unbuttoned his shirt, looking down the whole time. He had a strange feeling that it would look like a strip-tease if he had looked at her while doing so. Zane pulled the shirt off his broad shoulders and sighed. It was so cold in the tent.
Zane rubbed the feather tattoo on his wrist once before scooting closer to Zera once more, so she could examine them. He held up his wrist for her to see, the one with the feather. "This was my first tattoo," He said, fond of the memory. "I was only 14 when I got it... It's a raven feather. My dad once told me that ravens were the protectors of one's fate. I've always believed it to be true since then."

Zera couldn't tear her eyes away as more and more of Zane's chest was exposed. It was a strange feeling. She wanted to look away, for her sake, but she couldn't. It was like watching someone jump from the tower of the castle. She felt her cheeks warm up as he pulled his shirt completely off.
She let her eyes trace several of the tattoos littering his torso, and then she redirected her attention to Zane's wrist as he showed it to her, though she kept peering at his chest out of the corner of her eye. What could she say? She couldn't resist. He had nice muscles. And interesting tattoos. She listened to him explain when he got it.
Fourteen was such a young age to get a tattoo. And it meant something, too. So it resembled the protecting of one's fate. She chewed on her bottom lip as she reached out to trace the center of the feather with her index finger. "That's interesting," she said, letting her finger linger in the middle of the tattoo.

[[ You claim Loki? Damn. ;-; He's so.... I'm sure you know. ]]
Zane shivered at her touch. It wasn't fair, her getting a reaction like that from him. For decades, he had taught himself to control his emotions, his reactions. He learned to curve his blood lust, among his other lusts. No one had touched him with that soft touch like Zera had since his wife.
Zane covered Zera's hand with his own. Slowly, he picked it up and placed it on an intricate swirl design on his chest, right next to his heart. Looking straight into her face, he said, "This tattoo," His voice was soft, "is a protection tattoo for all the things I care about."
He paused, trying to catch Zera's slate colored eyes. "ALL the things I care about, Zera."

Zera was surprised as Zane's muscles rippled with a shiver as she touched his wrist. Did she hit some sort of nerve? Her curiosity was piqued. She wondered if he could also feel the strange electric, fiery feeling that occured where their skin made contact. It was a strange feeling, and Zera still hadn't decided what it was. Sometimes she did her best to ignore it.
When he placed his hand over hers, and moved her hand so that it rested over a swirling tattoo on his chest, right beside where his heart would be, she felt her cheeks heat up to the point where she thought they were on fire. She held her breath for several moments as Zane spoke, exhaling and sighing when he explained what it was. Her cheeks turned even more red.
She turned up to look him in the eyes, feeling how he tried to catch hers. She looked into his eyes, curling her fingers against his chest, and said, "That must be a very important tattoo to you."
