Alfred smiled wide, pleased that Ivan had enjoyed listening to him sing, and that he may have possibly caught why he was looking up at him through the entire thing. "I totally understand what you mean, don't worry," he said, grinning. "I went camping pretty often when I was little and we'd sing around the campfire. I bet you can guess who was the loudest," he said, laughing as he paused to think of another good song before one came to his mind and he looked up at Ivan again, starting to hum Go The Distance from Hercules to see if it's one that the Russian knew, since it seemed to fit pretty well with why he'd come all the way to America from his home in Russia.

"It was you~" Ivan chortled happily, picturing little Alfie roasting marshmallows and singing. What a sweet mental image~ He wondered whether he could get Alfred to show him pictures from when he was small - that would be very cute. Then, when his friend began to hum another song, Ivan scoured his mind quickly to think of the lyrics. I know this one, I know I do! What were those words again? He thought, at first only able to recall the chorus. He smiled at Alfred when he remembered them, and opened his mouth to sing. "I have often dreamed - of a far off place," He began softly, allowing his own emotions to colour his tone. He knew well why Alfred had chosen this one, and he was determined to do it justice. "Where a great warm welcome will be waiting for me~" He crooned, pouring himself into the song as it came to him, allowing his gaze to continue resting on his friend's amiable features.

When he reached the last part of the first chorus, he let the loneliness he'd been running from seep into the words, though not too much - this wasn't a sad song, after all. "I would go most anywhere, to feel like I belong." It was odd, how well his own life could be sung from the scenes of Disney like this, but he supposed that this was a part of its charm. "Down an unknown road, to embrace my fate - though that road may wander, it will lead me to you~" He sang, beginning to blush a little as he remembered those lines. It was true, though, and he couldn't deny that even to himself. "And I won't look back, I can go the distance - and I'll stay on track, no, I won't accept defeat." Was this, in part, Alfred's way of asking him to stay? Ivan doubted that he'd actually thought of it like that on the surface, but it could still be a factor. It had to be said, he'd been presented with a compelling argument. "I don't care how far, I can go the distance - 'til I find my hero's welcome, waiting in your arms..." Well, with lyrics like that, there was definitely no escaping his blushing - indeed, it had only grown deeper in hue.

((I may have skipped about a bit with this one, but there was just so much I thought was relevant. They aren't in the wrong order, though, I just skipped bits - he sang it all the way through, though. That was a good one~))

Alfred smiled up at Ivan as he sang, once again falling a bit quieter as he listened to the Russian basically pour himself into the lyrics he sang, a song that Alfred had chosen for the underlying meaning of it...though Alfred did pause in his humming to sing the part regarding the heroes welcome along with Ivan, toning himself down so he wouldn't overpower the Russian. He couldn't help but smile at the other's blush, gently squeezing the other's hand that he still held. "Your turn again," he said with a warm smile. He will admit that he had kind of forgotten how the song ended, but the overall tone of the song both fit with how Ivan sang and how he'd come to his side in the first place.

"A-ahh, da, thank you." Ivan responded, appreciative of the gentle squeeze he received. It had been an interesting and pleasant surprise when Alfred had begun to sing the last part with him, and he had been grateful that his friend had regulated his volume so as to avoid drowning him out. What do I pick, what do I pick? He wondered to himself, hoping that the burning in his cheeks would ebb soon. It seemed that Alfred was very understanding about such things, though. That was good. When There Was Me And You? Nonono, too far into blushing territory... Just Like We Dreamed It? Wishes? He might not know those ones... Ah! He will certainly know this one, and I think it fits him well~ The song that Ivan had chosen to hum this time was Let's Go Fly A Kite, from Mary Poppins, and he made sure to put a bounce into his humming.

Alfred giggled softly. It had been a good while since he'd heard Mary Poppins songs. Deciding to skip the first bit he jumped to the main, peppy part of the song. "Let's go fly a kite~" he began, swaying with the beat. "Up to the highest height! Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring!" He giggled again, grinning wider. "Up through the atmosphere, up where the air is clear! Oh, let's go fly a kite!" he sang happily, nudging Ivan slightly in the hopes of getting him to sing along a bit too. It was just so bouncy and inviting he wanted to hear how it sounded with Ivan too!

Ahh, he is moving with the beat again - that seems to happen so naturally with him... It is nice. Ivan mused as he hummed, thinking to himself that he had been right to give Alfred this to sing - its light-hearted optimism suited him down to the ground... Or rather, up to the sky. It was pleasant to listen to, and buoyed itself up along with Ivan's mood, in this sunny little corner of Kansas. Then, he felt Alfred nudging him in the ribs a little, and he realised that he was being given a cue. Well, he did sing with me the last time, so I'll give it a go... He reasoned to himself, before breaking into song himself. "When you send it flyin' up there, all at once - you're lighter than air. You can dance on the breeze, over 'ouses and trees," He sang, trying to blend his own voice with that of his friend in terms of volume and tempo. "With your fist holding tight to the string of your kite!" Then, it was time for the chorus again, and he allowed the song to run away with him, grinning like a fool.

Alfred grinned as well, closing his eyes as he sang with Ivan, enjoying the upbeat tune of the song and erupting into a fit of almost childish laughter as the song came to an end. "I haven't heard that song in so long but it was always one of my favorite from Mary Poppins! That and either Spoonful of Sugar or Chim-Chim Cheree," he said happily. "Or...well actually I liked all of the songs from Mary Poppins. It's such a fun movie!" he said happily before he started thinking on what song he should start up with next. Then he grinned up at Ivan, starting to hum Be Prepared. He wanted to see what the Russian's vocal range was.

"Ahh, I don't remember all the lyrics to those two, but I like them - even though the chimney-sweep one always confused me." Ivan responded, enjoying Alfred's laughter with a beautific smile. "It is rather a fun one, isn't it? Ahh, but I really confused my parents when I tried to sing along to the Votes For Women song - they didn't know I was watching Mary Poppins until they entered the room to see what I was going on about... That was awkward." Then, when his friend began to hum again, Ivan allowed an evil smirk to replace his smile as he recognised that he was being given the intro to a villain's song. Well, perhaps he'd get into character for this one, and see what Alfred thought. "I know that your powers of retention... are as thick as a warthog's backside - but thick as you are, pay attention... my words are a matter of pride~" He drawled musically, lacing his tone with as much of Scar's scorn as he could manage, and using his free hand to gesticulate.

It didn't matter that he was simply addressing a hapless bug perched upon the nearest sunflower - it would do as a hyena for the moment. When it got to their lines, he would simply use his hand like a puppet. That would be good enough. "I know it sounds sordid, but you'll be rewarded - when at last I am given my dues! And injustice - deliciously squared~ Be prepared!" He sang, rolling the words around with relish, and using his eyes to communicate the emotion of the piece. It wasn't too difficult for his voice to handle, and he was having a lot of fun with all the expressions. "So prepare for the coup of the century, prepare for the murkiest scam! Meticulous planning, tenacity spanning - decades of denial is simply why I'll be king undisputed, respected, saluted - and seen for the wonder I am! Yes, my teeth and ambitions are bared - be prepared!" Upon reaching the end of the song, Ivan also indulged in the maniacal laughter that Scar had exhibited - it was too good to resist.

Alfred continued humming, joining in with the under-chorus of the song that the hyena army sang as it marched along under Scar, returning to humming the tune afterwards. He gave a light shudder at the maniacal laugh, slightly forced before he ended up simply giggling again, face buried into Ivan's scarf. "That was pretty convincing, I have to give you that," he admitted before he smiled. "But you're still a kitten," he added, grinning up at Ivan. Now he got to wait to see if Ivan was going to choose another song for him to sing for him and he was excited to know what it might me.

With a song like this one, having someone to sing the other part was quite helpful, Ivan reflected. He giggled a little about the slightly feigned shudder, though a part of him whispered that it was actually not a reaction that he wanted to see. He could tell that it was in fun, though. "Well, I have watched the Lion King many times, da? I have gotten quite good at those songs~" He responded, his ex
pression softened back into its more benign state. "Da, I am a kitten, but what kitten does not indulge in a little mischief, hmm?" he added playfully, likening his performance of Be Prepared to a kitten pretending to be an epic hunter, while actually only chasing dust bunnies. Ivan's grin widened, his own mischief evident, and he began to hum The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers - a song which he felt Alfred could really pull off. How long would it have been since his friend had sung anything to do with Winnie the Pooh, he wondered?

Alfred grinned wide and this time actually ducked out of Ivan's scarf, taking a moment to carefully rewrap it around Ivan's neck so he could properly get up to convey the sheer amount of bounciness involved in Tigger's song, first bending down to grin at Ivan. "You have a point with kittens and mischief," he stated before he hopped back up to take a step back and spin once before starting to sing.

"The wonderful thing about Tiggers is Tiggers are wonderful things!" he started, trying his best to bounce around like Tigger would were he singing, minus the springy tail. "Their tops are made out of rubber, their bottoms are made out of springs!" He laughed a bit as he danced and bounced around, feeling a lot like a little kid again. "They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy, fun fun fun fun FUN!"

Then he took a couple of steps to bend down int front of Ivan grinning wide. "And the best thing about Tiggers is that I'm the only one!"

And then he moved to repeat his bouncy dancing, continuing on with the singing and hopping right back towards Ivan when declaring he was the only Tigger. He ended it by practically pouncing on Ivan and doing the little growl that Tigger did at the end of the song, grinning and laughing afterwards.

Ivan was a little startled when Alfred unwrapped himself from his scarf, and he felt just a tiny bit put out - until he realised why Alfred had done so. Then, he beamed all over his face and watched Alfred boogie. It was effervescence given song, and the American's bouncing dance was full of life and energy - it was truly entertaining to behold. It was a real performance, and Ivan had started clapping the beat as he hummed, trying not to giggle at the funny lyrics. The Russian's eyes widened in comical surprise as he was pounced upon at the end of the song, and he felt as though his heart had leaped into his mouth as he was knocked over. Not in a bad way, though, he was simply startled. In fact, the way Alfred had landed on him had actually allowed an interesting fact about the cuddly foreigner to be revealed when 'Tigger' next moved, presumably to get up - Ivan's belly was very ticklish. Giggling helplessly, the Russian squirmed and batted ineffectually at random, and he seemed to be having trouble halting his mirth.

Alfred giggled, only to pause and end up giving Ivan a mischievous grin. "Oh my god you are just like a kitten," he said before he shifted to immediately start tickling the male currently beneath him, laughing. "And just like you said, I am a playful Golden Retriever!" he giggled, unable to remember a time when he'd been so very thoroughly overjoyed for such a long amount of time. This was so much fun with Ivan around, the two of them being able to be like this around one another because they felt comfortable and like they belonged.

"Eeeee! Eeeeheeeheehaahahahahh!" Ivan squealed, flailing uselessly, though he had registered what had just been said to him. Well played, my friend, well played... He thought, his face all scrunched up with laughter. "Whoohahaheehahaha*snrk*hahahee!" He fairly exploded, rolling about as much as he was able. "I cahahahan't breeheeheeathe! I gihihihive! Stoppit, pahahahazhahahalooostaaa!" He erupted, attempting in vain to tickle Alfred in return. It was no use, though, he couldn't maintain enough control while he was being tickled like that. This was fun, but he actually quite wanted to sit up and catch his breath at this point.

Alfred laughed triumphantly, rolling off of Ivan to flop on the ground beside him and just laugh, free and entertained and /loud/. "Oh my god that's it you are officially the most adorable person I know besides my cat," he stated. "And yes, Penny is a person. She's too moody to just be a pet," he said with a giggle, rolling onto his side to curl up slightly. "No but really oh my god in all seriousness that is the most adorable thing ever and I am so glad I know you're ticklish now," he said before he pushed himself up to slide out of his jacket since he'd warmed up quite a bit from his dancing around.

Ivan's face when he was released was flushed, whether from all the laughing or from the compliment he'd just been paid, and he gratefully took in a deep lungful of air. Perhaps he wouldn't sit up just yet... "Hee~" He managed, giving Alfred another smile. "If you say that I am, and that she is, I will not question it. Ahh, but that was fun. Tiring, but fun." He sighed, "If tickling me makes you happy, then I am also glad that you found out~ I have not laughed so much in ages... I am glad for my own reasons as well, then. It is good to laugh." He continued, voicing his thoughts as they arrived in his head. He, too, was feeling rather warm, so he began to remove his coat as well. It wasn't just all the mucking about they'd been doing, either, it seemed that the day had warmed as well.

((I just imagined Ivan making a little squeaky 'hee' sound and oh my god))

Alfred lsmiled and nodded before he rolled back over onto his back, his jacket very carefully bundled under his head to serve as a sort of pillow as he stared up at the sky. "I'm pretty sure this is literally the most fun I've had in years and it's amazing," he said, looking over at Ivan again after a few moments. "And I can't wait to get back out here again, bringing my guitar next time of course so we really can sing duets and have the music to back it up." He stretched out his legs, then giggle again. "I can't believe I actually danced to The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers," he laughed softly, spreading out his arms, automatically taking hold of Ivan's hand when his fingertips brushed against it'

((That was the effect I was going for~ It was quite squeaky~ :3))

Ivan, too, rolled up his coat for a pillow, and lay back to use it as soon as he had made sure that he hadn't got any stains on his scarf. "Me also." He responded, "I did not think I could have that kind of fun once I grew up~ It actually kind of reminds me of a campfire song I heard some Brownies singing - on YouTube. I think they were British, from the accents... They were very cute~ I don't remember all of the words, but it was about thinking that magic would disappear when adulthood came, but finding it in other things instead. How did that bit go again? Ah, I know - a child, a friend, a smile, a song, the courage to stand tall - I do believe in magic, after all. That's the only part I recall all the words to, though. Sweet, da?" He rambled, looking up at the sky and the fringe of sunflowers around them that seemed to tickle it. "Ahh, it will be good to come here again, and to sing with your guitar~" Ivan sighed contentedly, beaming lazily up at the clouds. "Hmm? Well, I thought that it quite suited you, and you did it very well~" He added, chuckling a little himself. "You surprised me quite a bit when you pounced - I wasn't expecting that part. It was still fun, and I enjoyed every moment of it." Ivan felt his friend's hand gently taking hold of his, and he turned his face towards Alfred's, giving the hand in his a little squeeze. "Thank you for making my wishes come true, Solnyshka - this is better than I dreamed it would be~"

Alfred smiled at the other words, unable to help chuckling softly at the mention of British kids and magic. In some part of his brain it went together perfectly despite him not being totally sure why. "That's a pretty good song to think about," he he said softly, turning his head to look over at Ivan when his hand was squeezed. All of today had been the single best day he'd probably ever had and he smiled upon hearing Ivan likely felt the same. "I'm glad I could make today that great for you, Kotenok," he said softly. "Hopefully I can keep up this pattern of fun days so you can smile more and more," he murmured, lifting his free hand to playfully tap the tip of the other's nose.

And to think, this whole field thing got started from sunflower latte art. He smiled even wider. Maybe working where he did and even dealing with some coworkers who didn't arrive on time was worth it for being able to be there when Ivan walked in so that all of this was set into motion.

((By the way, I looked up flower language definitions for sunflower, and this is what I got: Adoration, admiration, appreciation, gratitude, wishes, loyalty, pride. Isn't that cute?))

“Mmm, da. Too bad I forgot most of it.” Ivan answered, meeting Alfred's gaze. “Aahh, you have done a very good job – it is almost as though I have wandered into a realm of dreams~ I have never felt so happy-” He continued, beginning to choke up a little at the end. The Russian gave his friend the brightest smile he could manage, for all that it was a little wobbly, and began to cry – still smiling. He hadn't a clue why he was affected to quite this extent, but he felt almost as though a great burden had been prised from his shoulders – as though he had been thawed out from a sculpture of ice. His soft sobbing was interrupted by a giggle, when Alfred tapped his prominent nose, which made it sound a little weird. Not as weird as the intense feelings that had welled up within him, however. It was as if he had been sitting alone in a deep and lonely chasm for who-knows-how-long up until this point, when he had been led into the sun. It also felt as though it were a precious thing that had been snatched away from him, only to be found again in these moments. He was caught in a riptide of an emotional inundation; a battlefield of elation, thwarted disbelief, desperate longing, hope – and many other such combatants. Alfred's hand in his was a lifeline, and he squeezed it again – gently – in an attempt to reassure his friend that he was not in distress.
