Lowee prowled along the trees, his wary eyes darting from side to side. His tail swept along the forest floor, making the leaves beneath his tail rustle. The bone dragon lifted his nose to sniff the air, eager to snatch a large, unsuspecting herbivore. He was disappointed though, when he scented no animal. Lowee looked behind him, at his withered wings, as his flesh, which looked much more like red and pink ribbons, twirled and wrapped around each wing bone, becoming its muscle. He beated his wings against the ground, gaining wind, lifting up and off the ground. Lowee soared through the air, scanning the forest for a cave to sleep in. After a few minutes, the dragon saw a mound, which was a cave. Alighting neatly on the ground, Lowee approached the cave. Before he had a chance to enter it, a roar shook the earth. A bear approached him, its eyes flashing, attempting to defend its home. Lowee sniffed in disappointment. 'A runt.' He thought disdainfully, killing it quickly with two swipes of his claws. 'At least I shall have dinner.' Lowee thought, dragging the bear's body into the cave.

Zephyr was soaring through the night sky, happy to be among the dark clouds. His red rings glowed, and his eyes gleamed. 'Flying free amongst the clouds is so much better then scampering around on the ground.' Zephyr thought, doing many twists and loops in the sky.

Shislan was asleep in a tree, sheltering inside its many green leaves. She was more of a day dragon, preferring to hunt under the sun then the moon. The night's warm breeze blew, ruffling the leaves in the tree. Shislan, still deep asleep, rumbled slightly, balancing perfectly on the tree branches that supported her light weight.

Rayia had just killed a sheep, stolen from a human's farm. 'That pitiful human has plenty of sheep. One of these little things going missing own't hurt him.' The dragon thought, alighting on the forest floor. Part of the dead sheep's soft wool had been torn away by the tree branches, which didn't bother Rayia's tough scales. Content with her plump catch, she settled down, making a small make-shift nest out of the fallen leaves. 

Salaar opened one, baleful, silver eye when his ears caught the sound of something near his cave. His muscles tensed as he waited, sparks dancing lightly across his white-silver scales. A flash of black went past the mouth of the cave and a sudden lightning bolt sprang forth from Salaar's open maw, missing the unfortunate wolf, but making a rather large scorch mark on the boulder face where it had stood only a split moment before. Salaar grumbled in complaint and rose from the floor of his cave, striding to the entrance to look around. It wasn't even midnight yet. The storm dragon yawned, giant white fangs flashing in the moonlight, and took to the air, deciding to spend the rest of the night on a calming flight; there was no way he'd be able to get back to sleep now anyways.

Kendra snoozed on her rocky ledge that jutted out of a huge canyon wall. Kendra was a day dragon, extremely inactive once the sun set. Her feather-tipped tail dangled over the edge, occaisonally twitching in the fits of her dreams.

Ruka prowled through the dark forest undergrowth, his lanky body snaking in between the tree trunks without a sound. His eyes  gleamed yellow in the gloom, opened wide in search of prey. A reptilian hiss sounded from between his teeth as he breathed, the only sond in the otherwise soundless night.A bush suddenly exploded as a wild boar sprang away. Ruka was on it in an instant, his teeth and claws digging deep into the boar's flesh. Ravenous, ruka started ripping huge chunks of flesh from the poor animal even before it had completely died. The dragon hadn't eaten in several weeks, he wasn't going to wait.

Peeke watched the moon's journey across the sky from her perch on the largest tree in the forest. The giant oak towered over the rest and was home to many dragons, each one claiming his or her own brnach. Peeke had secured her branch near the top years ago, and she still treasured its view to this day. Her smooth scales glittered in the soft moonlight as she hummed lightly, her dragonsong swaying on the warm night breeze. Others were singing as well, a nightly occaison that gave the tree its name, the Singing Oak. Peeke enjoyed nights like these the most.

Zephyr stopped, hovering in midair, as a familiar sound drifted in the air. 'Ah, dragons singing.' Zephyr thought, delighted. It had been some time since he had participated in this, as he decided to take a break from flying. He alighted on a tree, where he saw another dragon [Peeke]. He hummed along with the other dragons, his voice easily blending into the melody. Zephyr felt his red rings grow warm, as they glowed brightly in the night.

Shislan blinked her eyes, once, twice, as she stumbled to get up. She heard the familiar dragonsong, as it was almost instinct to join. Her foot got tangled in the branches. Shislan grolwed in annoyance, jerking her foot to break the branches. As soon as she was freed, the golden dragon shot up into the sky, circling the tree where she saw two dragons, one with glowing red rings. She sang along with them, her voice the loudest of them all.

Lowee grumbled as he heard the melodious hums of many dragons. "Another one?" He mumbled, the bones of the finished bear law strewn on the floor. Unhappy to be awake, Lowee cautiously stepped outside the cave, looking for the dragons. He saw one circling a tree, and another two inside the tree. The bone dragon sniffed disdainfully, and returned to his cave.

Rayia had finished the sheep, as she lay on the forest floor, licking each claw clean of blood. She was about to settle down to sleep, when the tune of dragonsong drifted into her ears. Rayia sighed, and decided not to join this time. After all, it was late, and she was usually a dayhunter. 

Peeke crooned in delight when two other dragons joined the chorus. Her own voice went up a notch, taking on a smooth, meoldious note. Other dragons in the tree, who hadn't participated before, took up the song now, making the sound echo across the entire forest. She watched the golden female flying around the tree, her voice singing out beautifully. Peeke envied such dragons, ones with a gorgeous hide and talent in almost everything from flight to dragonsong. Oh well, she thought to herself. This is not a night of regrets.

Salaar was almost unwillingly drawn to the Singing Tree. Other dragons in the area were also flocking to the tree to join in the occasion. there had not been such a large gathering of dragons in a long time that Slaar was fearful of a conflict. As of now, though, it didn't seem like any dragons were interested ina fight. The storm dragon alighted on a tree  nearby to simply listen and watch. There was another dragon, a black one with red rings, that was familiar to him. He had seen him flying before.

Ruka's head snapped up when somethign large crashed through the trees to take to the sky. He glanced through a hole in the canopy to watch a golden dragon take flight. He then heard the famous dragonsong echo through the air, an event he had never taken part in. He wasn't about to start now.

Kendra rolled over, a goofy smile on her snout as the music fom the Singing Tree reached all the way to the canyon and made her dream even more pleasant than it already was.

Luna sat on the ground with her eyes closed. The air around her was silent and peaceful as she somewhat meditated. She opened her silvery eyes and moved her head as if she was looking around. She closed her eyes again and relaxed as she looked at her surroundings happily throught the hard ground she sat on.

Rinku sat by the river and reached in, pulling out a nice size fish. He dropped it in his mouth and swallowed it whole. He opened his jaws and released a relaxed yawn, then snapped his jaws shut and shook his head and took off back towards his cave.

Flare layed on the ground, curled up lazily in a tight ball. She moved a little and swished her tail around, before wrapping it back around herself.

A large black figure sat in a deep river. After a long side sigh, then dragoness dropped a small blue egg into the water and watched it sink. She piled some mud around it to secure it in place, then flapped her wings and rose from the water, she threw her head back and roared loudly before looking back down at the egg. She sighed again, then turned and flew off.

(Sorry it's short. It's 6 in the morning here, and I just woke up.)

Shislan still circled the trees, her short resting time and almost refueled her, and the dragonsong helped. Her wings beated effortlessly in the air, their normal brightness dulled by the darkness in the night. Interacting with dragons always cheered up Shislan, and humming along to the dragonsong was no exception. She alighted on the tip of the tree, her claws digging into the wood. Shislan was a light dragoness, so clinging onto a sturdy tree would be no problem. She flared her wings and swung her tail from left to right, eager to continue with the melody.

Zephyr paused for a minute to scan the area. He saw the dragon that started the song, still humming, and a bright gold dragon with the loudest voice on the top of the tree. Zephyr observed the forest, trying to make out familiar outlines of dragons. He thought he could see one, though it was awfully spiky for a dragon. Zephyr shrugged, and hummed once again to the dragonsong.

Lowee poked his nose out of the cave. 'Still going at it.' He thought, twitching his snout, irritated. The bone dragon prowled back into the cave, settling down in the deepest part. He wished he could manipulate his flesh to cover his ears, so he could block out the dragonsong and finally sleep. 'If they go on any longer, I'm going to tear down that tree.' Lowee thought.

I've had enough, Ruka growled mentally. He let loose a roar that shook the night, sending a multitude of birds into the sky. The song was interrupted as well, sending the night into utter stillness as the last ringing of Ruka's roar faded away. He had moved to the base of the tree and all of the dragons that could see him were staring at him, angry at his interruption yet also confused at his unusual form. All dragons could fly, there were almost no exceptions even for the wingless type. Ruka had forever been plagued by the fact that he couldn't fly, a product of his parents' inter-species breeding. In his agitation at thier prolonged stares, Ruka's armor unconciously activated, making long, thorny spines grow form his hide, making his appearance even more frightening.

Peeke's voice cut off abruptly, as did all others, when an angry roar shattered the night. She glanced down, catchign sight of a very strange looking dragon, if it could even be called that. Angry at the needless interruption, she leapt to a lower branch and hissed at the perpetrator, demanding, "What reason do you have to interrupt such an occaison?" Roars and croons of agreement echoed all throughout the tree.

Salaar jumped in surprise when a roar, sounding rather angry, broke through the dragonsong. He was nearly set off balance by the tumult of birds that took flight from the tree where he was perched. Though Salaar himself was no participant in the song, he still found its interruption to be an annoyance and he found himself nodding in agreement to the female dragon's demand. Then again, he wasn't surprised that someone had finally done something, the song was getting rather loud....

Kendra stirred as the pleasant song was ended by a not-so-pleasant roar. she groggily stood up, looking around in confusion. she then saw a black dragon take to the sky from the canyon river below, often looking back. As the female dissappeared into the distance, Peeke flew down to investigate. after a few minutes, she discovered an egg, pearly blue in color. Why would the mother leave the egg here? Kendra wondered. Sighing, she covered the egg again. She wasn't one to abandon a hatchling, but she didnn't know much about rearing young. what if removing the egg from the water would kill the chick inside? As Kendra flew back up to her ledge, she settled down in a position where she could watch the place where the egg was hidden, concern evident on her muzzle.

Shislan heard the roar, and the angry growl that came from the dragon that started the harmonious dragonsong. She peered down the tree, teetering dangerously on the tip. She flew down to see the thorny dragon, who seemed to lack wings. "Who are you?" Shislan asked, tilting her head to one side curiously. She had seen wingless dragons before, but had never seen one so close.

Zephyr's humming was cut short by the thorny dragon's roars. A bit irritated, he looked down from his perch. The golden dragon had flown down, he presumed to challenge the thorn dragon. But he heard genuine curiousity in her voice. Zephyr rolled his eyes, his red rings dulled. "These kind of day dragons are always so friendly." He mumbled.

Lowee heard the roar that stopped the stupid dragonsong. He smirked, silently thanking the dragon that stopped the song. 'Perhaps I can finally sleep now.' He thought, settling down in the cave and closing his eyes.

Rayia instantly lifted up her head. "Did I just feel the earth rumble?" She murmured, looking around for any large animal. But the only things that surrounded her were the silent trees. Rayia sighed. 'This forest is rather spooky.' She thought, lifting off into the air.
