I shrugged in Jeffery's direction and walked out the door as he held it open, shooting him another smile. I still felt really bad for him and I couldn't help but think that maybe if it wasn't for me, then he'd still be alive tomorrow. Oh, well, I tried to tell myself. It's not your fault that he's apparently not a good slave. He seems so loyal, and nice, though... Shaking off my thoughts, I peered around again, trying to take in the scenery. It was a lot to take in, definitely. This place was huge.

Jeffery led her down some hallways, secretly hoping she wouldn’t get lost in the maze once he was gone.
“Once you work here long enough, you tend to just know where everything is… Without a map.”
He said with a side glance and a wink before moving along.
Finally, he came through to the dining room.
“This is where Master and any of his guests eat. Slaves don’t dare to eat here; they only serve during meal time. But-“
He pointed to a swinging door in the back.
“That’s the kitchen. After meals, you’re able to eat any left over’s or what not…”
He motioned her to follow as he went inside the kitchen. Other slaves were there, sweat beading their forehead. Some washing blood from their hands. Jeffery discreetly pointed to the girl with bleeding hands as he looked at Payton.
“You’ll have to be careful with the knives. Remember that.”
He said it, while trying to look comforting. He knew how it felt to change to different Masters way too often.
“I believe were done here. And I don’t want us to get in the servants way, so let’s go back to Master.” He said before walking out and leading her back to the front where she first met Master.
