Yeah, a lot of my roleplays have been moving really slow and I want to do one right now.

Rules/Requirements

-Must be some sort of wolf RP (Preferably some wolf-romance thing)

-You must be at least semi-lit

-No Mary/Gary sues

-No gay/bi/lesbian characters

-No humans

-I like long posts, you must be able to do 3-4 sentences per post

-Don't make me add more

Plot:

Pack boundaries have been shaky for years. At the hight of the summer, when the moon was full and the temperatures soared, war broke out. Pack members dissappeared never to be seen again, fueling the flame of war. Prey was just about unheared of in some areas, whilst in others, it was fought over constantly by other packs because it was so common.

Now the packs are shrinking rapidly, with dissappearences happening daily. Only seven packs remain, with up to fifteen members at most. Lone wolves are common, but they are usually twisted and cruel. No pups have been born in years, and only a few young wolves still walk the mountainsides.

Not great, but it'll do.

Bio:

Name:

Age:

Gender:

Personality:

Rank (Pack member or loner):

History:

Family:

Looks:

Other:

I was thinking maybe a pack wolf and a loner stumble across each other on accident, and get to know each other? If you have other ideas/requirements just let me know. I can do other Rp's, I just want to do at least one wolf one.

((Hi there c:

I would be interested in joining this, if that's alright with you? I consider myself semi-literate on average, but can be literate on good days (a rarity xD) ))

((Hello

That's kind of the same way with me, I'm at least semi-lit, and sometimes I'm literate on good days, sometimes it just depends how awake I am. I don't have a problem if you want to join, we can roleplay on here if you want.))

((Sounds great |D

I was wondering if you would be opposed to me controlling the loner wolf in the couple, and also could he be a male?

And yeah. Using this thread to RP on sounds good.

EDIT: How many characters each will we be controlling? Or is it just the loner and the pack wolf?))

((All right, I was hoping the loner would be a male anyway, so we're good there. I can play the female, I'll post my bio in a second))

Bio:

Name: Zavi

Age: Young adult (3 years)

Gender: Female

Personality: Zavi has a seemingly cold mask. She often snaps at other wolves, she can get away with it because she is the daughter of her pack's vicious leader. She doesn't talk often, and is an unusually good fighter with very sharp teeth and a very keen sense of smell. But this mask of hers is nothing like the true Zavi. Deep down, she hates fighting, and is really very lonely, but is afraid to approach other wolves, because even the best of them have beeen know to turn on others.

Rank (Pack member or loner): Member of Pack Seven

History: Zavi was born three years ago to a loner. She had two siblings, but her brother went missing and her sister turned her back on her.

Family: One sister (Duna) who cares nothing for Zavi, and a vicious and controlling father (Xavin who leads the pack.

Looks: Zavi is a pale, off-white color with a gray/silver smudge on her nose. She has green eyes flecked with gold. Her ear tips, and front right paw are black. She is quite small and slender.

Other: N/A

((Hmm. I may switch to a different character. Both wolves seem a bit standoffish to me and that might not work out. "Opposites attract", as it were... then again both wolves have reason to act in the manner that they do. Krael fits the 'twisted and cruel' deion for the atypical loner, just as Zavi's behaviour makes sense considering the impunity she would enjoy as daughter of the alpha.

I suppose all that was my way of asking your opinion: do you think a character with a different personality would be better suited for the purposes of this RP? I have some other wolf bios at the ready, but I honestly can't decide.))

Name: Krael

Age: Young adult

Gender: Male

Personality: Reckless, sarcastic, and arrogant. All three are words that describe Krael quite well. He is a fiery wolf that has a tendency to be cold and hateful towards others before he even gives them a chance. He is unstable at best, angering very easily and being very aggressive. Krael is known for having a sharp tongue, and for the trouble it often gets him in. Though quite intelligent, he is extremely impulsive and rarely ever takes the time to think things through. Long years fending for himself in the wilderness have hardened Krael, but despite his obviously very rough exterior, he does possess a soft side. The only problem is, it has been a very long time since anyone managed to get him to show it.

Rank: Loner

History: Krael's history is a blur of confusion and pain, and anyone who tried to learn of it would likely as not find themselves hard pressed to do much more than anger him. Suffice it to say that Krael once belonged to a pack that did not take kindly to wolves questioning authority. He picked one too many fights with superiors, and all trust in him was lost. An incident occurred one day, a rather serious one, that involved a dead pup. All blame was put on Krael and he was immediately outcast from the pack. He has spent all his time since then as a loner.

Family: Krael's mother, Zirva, died when he was young. His father and sister, (Korven and Svali, respectively) both live on as members of the same pack that Krael was banished from. He resents their choice to remain part of the pack, and now carries with him a deep-seated hatred towards all pack wolves, thinking them biased and ignorant.

Looks: The first things that most notice about Krael are his eyes, which are a steely shade of grey around his pupils. The irises are rimmed with a darker, intense silvery blue and are flecked with varying shades of grey throughout. He is lanky with shaggy, ink black fur. His teeth, particularly his canines, are unusually sharp.

Other: Nope.

((I think Krael will work, we just need to bring out his 'soft side.' Besides, as you said, both wolves would be likely to seem aggresive to start with, due to their given situations. I think he'll work. I'll post my intro.))

Zavi lay stretched out on a rock, the sun sinking before her eyes. The day had passed without anymore deaths of her pack members, but a border fight had resulted in the death of Pack Three's alpha female. Zavi's father had been the killer. Xavin had made short work of it though. Zavi could tell her father expected Pack Three to disband, as the alpha male was obviously grieving for his lost partner.

Zavi watched her sister Duna sit down a little ways away.  She sat up, just in case Duna decided she wanted to bully Zavi, as bullying other wolves was her favorite game, especially when the victim was Zavi herself.

"I wouldn't look so worried, I'm not interested in games right now," Duna sneered, glancing at Zavi.

Zavi bared her sharp teeth, why should she trust her sister anyway?

"And just what are you doing?"

"Waiting," Duna replied, a hint of scorn in her voice, eyes glinting maliciously.

"For what?" Zavi asked, curious in spite of herself.

Duna stood up again, and turned away as a magnificent black wolf emerged from the shadows.

"Hello Kazen," Zavi dipped her head.

He ignored her, just as expected. But Zavi wasn't fooled, she could tell he still had feelings for her. Kazen had followed her around for over four months before she had turned him away. He was too vicious for her liking. This discision had surprised Duna and Zavi's father, who approved greatly of Kazen's war skills.

"Go away," spoke Duna quietly to Zavi, "you turned him away, he doesn't care about you anymore." Zavi's sister walked up to stand next to Kazen.

"Like I'd want him!" Zavi snapped back.

Snarling, Duna leaped at Zavi and tried to grab her scruff, but Zavi, who was quite smaller, wriggled out of her sister's grip and raced off up the hill. As she flew past, she caught a glimpse of Kazen's face, it was surprisingly rather shocked.

A few other wolves saw her running as Zavi crested the hill. They seemed surprised to see her running away from something. To reassure the croud, Zavi approached the young omega, Poki, and grabbed the little female's muzzle, forcing her to the ground. This would insure that no one questioned her rank in the pack as Xavin's daughter. She was not afraid of her sister, and she was still close to the top, even if Duna had got the best of her one too many times. The watching wolves didn't know that though, and Zavi was determined to keep it that way. I hate doing this to these wolves, the omegas have done nothing wrong, but to keep myself alive, I have to treat them like scum. It pleases the other wolves, how can they stand it?! Zavi howled silently to herself as Poki whimpered unhappily.

---

A little while later, Zavi slumped down next to a small brook that ran through the largest part of Pack Seven's territory. Why did her sister have to hate her so much? Why did she always have to be the best at everything?

Zavi sighed sadly. I wish mother was still here.

The brook was Zavi's place, the place where she didn't have to keep secrets. She could stare into the water and see herself as she was, a young female mountain wolf, who's face wasn't twisted in a mask of snarls and growls. As far as she knew, Zavi was the only wolf that knew about this place, and she hoped it stayed that way. The only way someone would find it was if Zavi brought them, or a loner stumbled across it be accident.

Then a howl sounded in the distance, a howl to gather the wolves of Pack Seven before a battle. But in her father's voice, Zavi detected a note of glee, somethiong was happening, something so horrible that it had pleased her father.

Oh no! What's going on, has a pack died out? Is it Pack Three? What's going on?! Zavi whimpered in her head, whatever had happened, it wasn't good.

((Alright. c:
Don't be surprised if my post is uber sucky and short. D:))

The shadowy figure of a dark-furred wolf slowly picked his way across the mountainside. His pelt was startlingly black against the stark white of the snow around and beneath him, a fact which he cursed as it allowed prey to spot him as easily as one would spot a blot of ink on white paper. The wolf, whose name was Krael, was wandering nearly aimlessly in an attempt to satisfy his curiosity and desire to explore. As a loner, this was a common pass-time. After all, what else was there to do but hunt and wander?

Krael ignored the stinging sensation in the pads of his paws (from prolonged exposure to the cold) and continued to trek across the side of the mountain. He had been following an especially bright star, one of many that dotted the sky, for the better part of the evening. Thus far, it hadn't lead him to anything particularly interesting, but he had nothing better to do than continue to walk. So Krael walked. And walked. Hunger gnawed steadily at his stomach, and he hoped that he would happen upon some elk or even those gamey rabbit-looking creatures he had seen frolicking in a snowdrift earlier.

Suddenly, the eery and unmistakable sound of a wolf howling reached Krael, and he swivelled his ears to hear. It was distant, of that Krael was certain, but not so much so that its message was unclear. It was a call, likely from a high-ranking wolf, telling the rest of the pack to gather for some important event. The nature of said event was unknown to Krael, but it didn't seem to matter. The single pure note of wolfsong sent shivers down his spine, and he allowed a longing look to creep into his eyes, which were like liquid silver. It had been long, so long, since Krael had even come in contact with another wolf.

Krael knew it would be foolish to waltz into a pack's territory uninvited, but nevertheless a strong urge to meet with the stranger wolves was quickly making him forget such misgivings. He told himself it would only be a brief visit, and that he would only stay as long as he wasn't spotted by the pack wolves. Deep down, Krael knew he was lying to himself, but he also knew wolves were not meant to live in solitude like he was. Creatures as social as wolves needed companionship to survive.

A steely glint of determination in his eyes, Krael quickened his pace to a loping stride as he slightly altered his course so he was headed towards the location of the howling wolf. The silence hung heavy in the air, almost tangible, when the wolf ended his call.

(It's fine, your post is actually really interesting!)
I can't go, there's no way I can go! Zavi thought in a panic. She was terrified, the amount of fights breaking out everywhere and playing her part as the daughter of the alpha Xavin, was taking its toll.

"Calm down," Zavi muttered to herself, breathing hard. "I'll go, but I won't let anyone see me."

With that, the white wolf turned, loping away from the stream, following her father's call.

The forest seemed to whirl past Zavi as she raced through it, the breeze flattening her ears to her head. Late-night birdsong filled ears, and the setting sun cast shadows over the undergrowth. They made strange shapes, and Zavi had to muster all her self-control not to jump everytime she shifted her pose.

Quite suddenly the birdsong stopped, and Zavi slowed to a trot, panting. She could hear voices up ahead. Crouching, she crept forward, leaning back to keep her front paws from making too much noise. Zavi saw, quite clearly through the foliage, her father, a black and gray wolf, with Duna, standing on a rock above most of the assembled pack. His ears were rammed forward, and he was panting excitedly.

"Pack Three has left," Xavin began, but broke off as the pack broke into happy yips and howls.

Xavin lifted his tail for silence, while Zavi watched, not realizing she was holding her breath.

"We will claim their territory, before the loners close in, and then procede to attack Pack Five, which Pack Three's territoy borders. At this rate, it won't be long before we'll control most of the mountainside!" There was now a made glint in Xavin's eyes as he spoke these words, and Zavi's breath caught in her throat. This was madness, her family was mad, the mountain, her life was all falling apart. The rest of Pack Seven broke into a terrible, gloating song of howls.

Holding back a sob, Zavi turned and took off running through the forest. She didn't know where she was going, only that she had to get away, and that she wasn't coming back.

((As are yours. C:))

Krael cursed quietly to himself. He continued to trudge on, though he had long since lost track of his actual target. However, like males of any species, Krael had trouble admitting even to himself that he was lost.

Not lost, he told himself as he watched the tiny clouds caused by his own breathing float soundlessly away into the crisp night air. I just... I don't know what I'm looking for right now. I'll find some wolves soon, and then I'll know exactly what I'm doing.

Fog hovered in thick sheets two feet above the ground, little tendrils of it snaking their way over to Krael as though by some will of their own. The only sound was that of Krael padding softly through the snow. He found himself immersed in thoughts of once again meeting with others of his kind, and the black wolf was disgusted at how excited he was at the mere prospect. What if they are hostile and chase me off? he wondered suddenly. I'll never know unless I find them first.

Frustrated at having lost the trail (though he was certain he was not lost), Krael paused in a clearing and lowered his head towards the ground and sniffed determinedly, hoping to catch the tell-tale scent of a wolf. His pointed ears swivelled back and forth and he sat back on his haunches, irritated. The powdery snow that blanketed the ground as well as the tall pine trees in the area had effectively masked any scent-markings in the area. It also worked as a silencer of sorts, muting any soundwaves to the point where they were inaudible or at least unrecognizable to Krael.

I'm not giving up, he thought, as though trying to reassure himself. I need to take a break though.

So Krael, who hadn't even realized the level of exhaustion that plagued his tired limbs until just now, lay down in the soft snow. Tiny crystals of ice had settled on his pelt, glinting in the silvery moonlight, but Krael didn't bother to shake them off. He wondered if coming this far had been a mistake, especially given the fact that he did not know what awaited him were he to find the wolves that he had been seeking. Perhaps they were vicious warriors who destroyed loners such as himself on sight. Or they might all be carriers for some deadly disease that would cause Krael to die a slow and painful death once he contracted it. Maybe the howl he had heard had come from a loner that had gone crazy from years of solitude, and was howling as a way to try and relive his younger days. Or, thought Krael, his heart sinking, maybe I'm the crazy one and that howl never sounded in the first place- I only imagined it.

Krael shivered, though not from the cold. He decided once and for all, that if he did not find what he was looking for by sunrise, he would give up and keep moving across the mountainside.

In a last desperate bid to find the howling wolf (and in a way, prove his own sanity to himself), Krael barked once into the darkness. Krael's own voice was loud and harsh, and nearly alien after not using it for so long. The barking noise he had used was a wordless one, a simple utterance meant to alert others to his presence.

Tensely, Krael waited, not daring to hope that someone might reply.

(Thanks :D)

Zavi ran and ran, not even caring where her paws were taking her. At last, her vision began to go blank, and she had to stop. Even as she cooled down, it took her a while for Zavi to realize that her vision was still blurry-she'd ran right into a cloud of low-hanging ground fog.

Muttering curses to herself at her own stupidity, she stood up, and padded on. Not long after it began to snow, lightly at first, then coming down in a thick haze-like blanket. Crap, can this day get any worse?! Zavi thought to herself.

Zavi was shivering, and wasn't at all surprised when she tripped over a rock. Her frost-bitten pads hadn't felt a thing. Zavi lay slumped in the snow, her breath coming out in little clouds, nose burried in the cold fluff. Ice crystals formed around her eyes, making them sting. I'll probably die, right here, and no one will ever know, because my white pelt will hide me, Zavi realized, not at all concerned. At least I'm comfortable, she mused to herself.

Cold soaked into Zavi's pelt, her eyes were closing, her breathing slowed. She might have been sleeping. But then the most peculiar thing happened, at fist Zavi thought she was dreaming, but then she realized she wasn't even sleeping.

She heard barking.

Raising her head slightly, Zavi whimpered into the storm, now both scared, but curious. Well, I'm not going to die here after all, at least not until I find out who barked! Zavi thought, deep down glad of an excuse to keep herself awake, warm, and alive a little longer.

((No problem. :3))

Krael sighed. He didn't know why he had gotten his hopes up when it was obvious nothing was going to happen. Slowly, reluctantly, he dragged himself into a standing position despite the way his legs screamed in protest. Grimacing in discomfort at the soreness in his muscles, Krael began to trudge forwards. He allowed his head and to droop dejectedly as he walked, feeling stupid for even having tried to seek out a pack of stranger wolves.

I'm glad that I didn't find them, Krael lied to himself. They might have killed me had I found them. And besides, I'll be fine: I've survived just fine without friends for years, why would I need anyone now?

Despite what he told himself, Krael could not help but feel a deep sense of sadness at his failure.

"You're alone," taunted a voice in Krael's head, gleefully. "It's how you've lived, and it's how you're going to die."

Krael snarled. "Shut up," he spat, looking up and half expecting to see his invisible conversation partner. Unsurprisingly, there was no one.

"Craaaazy," laughed the voice. "Alone and insane, is what you are!"

"Shut up," Krael muttered again, halfheartedly. He had been headed in a straight line before, but now that line had begun to waver and he wandered without any true course. After a minute of walking and snarling, just daring the voices in his head to say something else, Krael looked up only to find he had succeeded in walking one large circle. He hadn't even managed to leave the clearing yet.

Incredibly frustrated, Krael swiped a jet black paw at the ground, sending up a spray of powdery white snow.

"Come on!" he shouted to no one. "I just want to go back home," he whined, not knowing where home was or what he meant. So quiet was his voice that was buried under the gentle sound of wind whispering in the leaves of trees.

Maybe this is how I die, Krael thought. Alone and insane, like the voices said.

At this he lay down in the snow once more, just about ready to give up.

Zavi pricked her ears, but snuggled down deeper into the snow. She could definitely hear someone a little ways away, snuffling and growling. She was curious, but if the other wolf was looking for a fight, she didn't think she could stay on her feet long enough to defend herself. Still... if it was a loner, as she assumed it must be, they just might be able to help her.

Zavi lifted her head, and barked, one, two, three, four times. Then she ducked again, so if the other wolf came running, they wouldn't see her head sticking up.

Just what am I getting myself into? Zavi thought, angry with herself. If she couldn't make it for a few hours without needing the companionship of another wolf, how was she ever going to survive on her own?

Zavi wasn't sure, but she thought the sounds from the clearing had quieted down. Are they coming? Or did I just imagine the barking in the first place? Zavi thought. I must be losing my mind, or maybe I'm already dead.

Zavi whimpered, burying her muzzle into the snow in her misery. Nobody was going to answer, she was going to die here, all alone, in this cold, swirling world of white.

The combined cold of the bitter night air and the snow beneath him had begun to seep into Krael's body. He didn't mind so much, though, since it numbed the ache in his muscles considerably. Just as he began to relax completely, whining softly to himself all the while, Krael heard a sound. Four barks in quick succession, their sound amplified in the snowy clearing where he lay.

The howling wolf, he's back. So it wasn't a hallucination after all. Krael thought numbly, too exhausted and confused to notice that this voice was slightly more feminine than the howling wolf.

Needing an excuse to keep moving, Krael thought I should go tell him to be more careful when he howls like that- it's misleading and it attracts the loners.

Forcing himself up once more, Krael began to tiredly stumble towards the source of the barking.

"I'm here!" he called. "Where are... you?"

((Lol fail.))

(Get ready for a fail on my part XD)

It took all of Zavi's self-control not to burst out of her snowy hiding place, and run towards the sound of the voice. He could still be dangerous, she scolded herself silently. But finally her curiosity won over, and she barked a quick reply. It sounded quite muffled though through the snow.

"Over here!"

Still, Zavi was cautious, she stayed where she was, not wanting the other wolf to see her, at least until she inspected him through scent and sound. He could easily be carrying a disease, no matter how healthy he sounded, and he could still be looking for a fight. Though Zavi deemed the latter less likely, as she had picked up a slight note of despair and longing in the loner's voice.

Whatever he wants, I'll be ready, Zavi promised herself, supressing excitement.

((Mine'll be worse, guaranteed. xD))

"Over where?!" Krael growled, his frustration at not being able to see clearly through the fog evident .

"Show yourself!" He said, squinting against a sudden slight gust of wind that flung a few tiny stray ice crystals into his silver eyes. Noting the caution in the other's voice, he spoke next in a slightly softer tone. "I mean you no harm..."

((Told ya xD))

((Let's see what I can do then, shall we? Lol))

"I'm right here, and as long as you don't step on me, I'll be happy to get up," Zavi spoke in a cool voice.

Zavi poked her head out of the snow, twitching her black tipped ears to get the other wolf's attention. The wind was howling so loudly by now though, that Zavi wasn't even sure the other wolf had heard her.

((Yeah... awesome isn't it? (*is being sarcastic*)))

((Hnng this always happens when I RP. The charries have moderately sized posts when they're alone and then they meet up and BAM they get cut down to like a sentence each xD))

Krael tilted his head slightly to the side when he finally saw the other wolf who, he had just noticed, was female.

"What the hell?" he said bluntly. "Why are you lying in the snow alone?"

As soon as the words had left his mouth, Krael realized that that was exactly what he had been doing just moments ago.

Suddenly, Krael paused to regard the stranger for a moment. He walked straight up to her and peered into one of her green eyes, then reached out his front paw and touched her lightly on the shoulder. She is real, he thought, eyes lighting up for a moment with glee before he realized that his behaviour would probably be labeled as strange.

"Sorry," he stammered, suddenly self conscious. "I just needed to see that you weren't a figment of my imagination."

Embarrassed, Krael stood up a little taller and puffed out his chest slightly to at least make himself look more impressive.

"Who are you, anyway?" he asked casually, feigning indifference.

Zavi inclined her head  slightly, trying not to laugh. Although she had flinched slightly at the other wolf's touch, she found his bluntness amusing. Zavi stood up and shook some of the snow off her pelt, although this did little to help as it kept falling in thick blankets.

Well, judging by that sound I heard a little while ago, you laid down too, and by the sound of your vioce, you're quite tired. So am I, simple as that." Zavi said smugly, priding herself on her ability to figure things out based on her senses.

But Zavi's tone changed quickly, just as an avalanch makes a lot of noise, but when it stops, even the air seems to hold its breath.

"I was a member of Pack Seven," Zavi murmured, almost inaudable over the howling wind.

Steeling herself slightly, so as not to show weakness she added, "You know, puffing out your chest makes you look fat."

((Lol, I wasn't sure what to put at the end XD))
