Alkyoni opened his eyes as he heard the captain respond to him, and his thin eyebrows furrowed slightly as he felt relief wash over his tense figure. Dark blue eyes caught the quick glance that Eugen had given his body and he swallowed dryly, turning his attention to the fish which was soon handed over to him. This time he didn't snatch the creature from the human; instead he hesitantly reached for it, his hand taking the slippery fish from the captain. Despite how slow he took the food from him, it didn't last long in his hands as he held it up to his face, his teeth tearing into scaly flesh and the fresh meat below the skin impatiently.

Coughing slightly, the mermaid was surprised at the question and nearly choked on the bit of food he'd been chewing. The devoured fish left his mouth and he frowned a bit, staring at the more than half eaten food in his hands. Just thinking about his family made him feel sick. It hurt knowing he might not see them ever again. Though, it was his own fault for venturing off in the first place. Maybe he wouldn't be where he was right now. Alkyoni felt even worse when he thought about the last time he spoke to his father. As always, they had an argument. This time he couldn't tell him he was sorry. His plump, blood-stained lips quivered a bit and he closed his eyes, trying not to let his emotions grab hold of him. Keeping a composed ex
pression on his face, he reached up to wipe his mouth with the back of his hand and he tilted his head in thought.

"...I do." Alkyoni spoke, his voice wavering until he cleared his throat. Speaking more clearly, he looked up at Eugen once again, "They are... All back home, of course...," He chewed at the inside of his cheek lightly before speaking, "I have um... Three brothers and... I was supposed to have a sister but she didn't make it... And my mother and m-my...," His eyebrows furrowed slightly, his eyes glancing down a brief moment as he paused, trying not to let his voice become weak. "...My father- Though we weren't alone it was us... and other relatives... We lived close to each other-"

Upon seeing Rein enter the room once again, he stopped speaking, his eyes watching him closely even as the man sat down. He didn't feel comfortable talking about himself or his personal life as it was, and he couldn't handle talking about it in the presence of another person. Especially one that he didn't feel too great about so far. Alkyoni turned his attention to Eugen as he heard him mutter something foreign under his breath and he looked at Rein, feeling unsure as he didn't know what the other man had said to him.

Thin eyebrows rose considerably at the apology he received from Rein. He certainly didn't expect that to come from him. His surprised ex
pression faded and he paused a brief moment, before letting a small smile tug at his lips. The apology did it for him even though it was such a small thing. He reached out, touching Rein on his forearm softly as he gave him a considerate look. "It's okay, I think so."

Turning to Eugen, he pursed his lips and gave a thoughtful sigh. "...That is all, really, about my family." Alkyoni moved his hand from where it rested on Rein's arm as he spoke, only to gaze at the water he was in as he got quiet.

The slightly disturbed figure finished his meal rather quickly and his attention was turned back to the mermaid as he moved in the tank. A slight jolt of surprise went through the larger figure as the boy willingly reached out to lightly touch his forearm, the touch sending a slight shiver through him and his eye brows raised a bit at the figure. The action left him speechless and he paused a bit before moving to take his plate back towards the smaller dining area inside the captain's quarters.

Eugen smirked at his brother who had just been petted by the mermaid. It was obvious the male was a bit jealous of the captain and he couldn't help but give a low chuckle as the figure had to get up and walk off a bit of the adrenaline running through his veins. Turning back to the mermaid, he leaned forward a bit and his eyes took in the sight of his plump lips as he spoke, almost missing what he said.

"I see." The captain spoke as he watched the figure in the tank. The boy seemed nervous about talking his family and he would make sure not to bring up the topic again. It would make sense for him to be depressed..he won't be able to see his family again after all. Thought Eugen as his dark eyes watched the male carefully. As sad as the mermaid might be, there was no way he'd ever give up his new found treasure for anything, even the creature's family.

Looking at the bucket of fish near him, he waited for the boy to finish before beginning to speak once again in a low and accented voice. "We don't have any other family anymore, we left home when we were younger and found our way heh." Eugen spoke as he glanced at his brother who had just returned and ignored his glance. "Though if we had any family left we probably wouldn't care to know. Things are just fine the way they are." The figure spoke before leaning back in his seat once again.

Seeing at how the figure was finished eating, he grabbed another fish from the bucket and held it in his hand. "Are you still hungry?" Questioned the male with a small smirk, finding it almost adorable at how hungry the boy was.

The boy glanced up quickly, biting his bottom lip a brief moment as he watched Rein walk away. Had he done something wrong? If he had, the matter was ignored as his attention was turned to Eugen once the man began to speak to him. His thin brows furrowed slightly as he listened to him talk about the family that he had at one point in time. He wondered why Eugen and his brother had left in the first place. Perhaps, it was the same reason Alkyoni left his home? Maybe he intended on going back, too. It was puzzling to him why anyone would want to leave their families behind. In his culture it was something not often spoken about. There were often no runaways or cases where the parents had rid themselves of their children. Things like that never really happened. If they did, there was always a troubling reason behind it.

As Rein returned, Alkyoni glanced over at him, his blue eyes meeting the other man's briefly as a smile tugged at the corners of his lips, only for it to disappear seconds later. Both men had similar colored eyes, yet if one looked close, they could see the difference. Rein's were almost a copper-toned gold, while Eugen had a more gold tinge with flecks of a darker tone around his pupil. Dismissing that thought, he pursed his lips as he listened to Eugen speak. What he had said puzzled him. Though, before he could ask why Eugen didn't want to be around any family, if he found that he had any, the man spoke to him directly.

It was hard to say no, that he wasn't hungry, but the food was tempting. Of course, he didn't know when the next time he'd be eating again. Despite being on the ship with Eugen there was nothing to prove he'd be there for long. Anything could happen and no one knew the future. Chewing at his soft bottom lip he nodded, reaching out to take the fish from him. Alkyoni held it up to his mouth with both hands and tore into the slick flesh, his eyes closed as he savored the taste. These fish were quite large and he was easily getting full, but it didn't stop him from finishing up the last morsel of the creature. As soon as he finished, the mermaid dropped the uneaten remains of the fish onto the ground in front of Eugen, as he'd done with the other carcasses.

Giving a tired sigh, he leaned back against the cool glass wall of the tank, his blue eyes closing for an instant as he reopened them again. Though it was still daylight, his eyelids grew heavy and began to droop. It's what he got for overfeeding himself. The boy let a hand rub over his stomach as he sank as far as he could go into the water without his neck going below the surface. Shyly, he glanced up at Eugen, then back at the water, not knowing what to say to him or if he should even speak again.

He looked thoughtfully at the water, chewing at the inside of his cheek lightly whilst he remembered the younger twin's question from not a while ago. Looking at Rein, he tilted his head a bit, his question coming out suddenly. "Do I look like a girl to you?" An embarrassed flush appeared on his cheeks at his question, his eyebrows furrowing slightly. "I-Is that why you asked your question..? Was it... Was it serious..?"

The twin to the left that had recently returned from his quick trip to the kitchen. The look he received from the mermaid nearly made a growl leave him, though not from anger or anything like it. It was silent for a moment and him and his brother couldn't help but watch the tired and relaxed looking mermaid get a bit more comfortable in the tank.

Both of the brothers looked at the boy once his soft voice began to speak out. Rein seemed a bit surprised the creature was actually talking to him for once and he gave a slight smirk and a side glance at his brother before speaking. "Well..I mean you have long hair so I just guessed you might be a girl." He answered with a slight laugh and Eugen raised an eyebrow as if an idea had came to mind.

A picture of Alkyoni with short hair came into the captain's mind and he couldn't help but like the thought of it. Maybe once he gets to know the creature a bit better he'll be able to talk him into it, but for right now the length of his dark locks would remain the same.

Knocking at the door of the captain's quarters came and the two males immediately jump to their feet, standing a bit in front of the mermaid in the tank, almost protectively as they recognized the crew member that had entered. The first mate could be seen with a dark vest covering a bit of his muscular frame along with a bottle of rum in hand. Once Eugen and his brother saw the figure, they relaxed a bit and Rein moved to take his seat once again, turning his attention back to Alkyoni for a split second. "Land ho sir, Shall we port? We need a restock of food after the feast." Kaiser spoke quickly and calmly as he gave a small glance at the tank in between the two figures.

The captain sighed slightly before rubbing the back of his neck. "Aye. We'll port and tell the crew not to say a word about the mermaid or I'll drag their skeletons across the ocean floor when I throw them in Davy Jone's Locker." Eugen's voice was low and serious as he told his friend the threat. The other male across the room knew Eugen all too well to doubt his words and he nodded before quickly leaving the room, shouting the new orders to the working crew outside.

"Du sicher wissen, wie um sie zu erschrecken." Rein spoke in his native language as he grabbed a bottle nearby and took a drink from it, a slight grin on his face as he spoke. "Ich kann nicht riskieren nichts." The scarred male spoke in a slightly dark voice, making it clear he didn't trust too many of his own crew members.

It wasn't much longer before they reached the port and docked, the sitting male figure rose to his feet and moved closer towards the tank once again. "I'll have to lock you in now, sorry." Eugen told the mermaid as he began to close the lid, making sure every part of the creature was inside before closing it and locking it. "Rein, hier bleiben. Ich brauche dich, um ihn zu beobachten." The captain spoke quickly before moving to grab a few coins and shoving them into his pocket.

"Can you leave the key to the tank then?" The twin called out to his brother over his shoulder who just laughed at him before walking out the door of his quarters, slamming the door shut behind him.

((Translation: "You sure know how to scare them."  "I can't risk anything."  "Rein, stay here. I need you to watch him."))

A look of dissatisfaction crossed Alkyoni's features as Rein pointed out his lengthy hair. From what he saw so far, most of the men on the ship had short hair aside from a few. Where he lived, it was natural for men and boys to have long hair. They never got hair cuts, as it would be quite difficult to cut hair underwater and not only this, they didn't quite have the tools to do such a thing. He held his dark brown locks in one hand, looking at them as he frowned a bit. Well, he certainly didn't want to look like a girl if this was the reason why. Despite that he really liked its length. It would be strange for him to have short hair, he thought.

Just before he could get a word out about his hair, there had been a quick, sharp rapping at the door and he flinched as the two men stood up suddenly. His ears flattened against his head and he cowered slightly, wondering what might be wrong. After all, he was completely helpless in the tank. Feeling the tension in the room fade, he made an effort to get a glimpse of who it was that had entered the room. A tall, pale man stood before them, his eyes a bright blue color and his muscular chest barely covered by a black vest. His voice sounded crisp and calm when he spoke, and Alkyoni flinched back a bit as he caught the man's brief glance toward him.

The boy looked to Rein a moment, a curious look on his face as he silently wondered just who the other human was. As Eugen began to speak, his glistening blue eyes watched him, brows furrowed as he had no idea what they were talking about. The man wasn't there any longer as he briskly left the room, and Alkyoni's ears perked at the sound of an unfamiliar language.

While mermaids were adaptive creatures, they didn't know every language their was. At a young age it was quite important to know many of the Northern languages. Many of them were able to speak any language which was spoken to them. Their ability to adapt to any language was more advanced than the humans'. Despite this, they practiced some more than others. Because of where he lived, it was languages of the North, as well as select others. Luckily, English had been taught to him, as Alkyoni had no idea what it was that Eugen and Rein spoke. He watched their body language and facial expressions intently, guessing from Rein's smile it had been something of play, and his brows furrowed once Eugen's had done the same. Now, he'd been curious as to what they were talking about.

He felt the large ship begin to move sluggishly, and from the light rocking motion the waves gave when gently splashing against it, Alkyoni guessed they had stopped somewhere. His brows furrowed a bit once Eugen had stood up and approached him. Part of him wanted to ask where the man was going, and a small noise escaped him as the lid was closing to the tank. Moving his hands away from the edges, he gazed at Eugen in earnest as the heavy lid was closed and locked. Watching the man leave, he sank back down into the water, leaning his head against the glass wall with an almost disappointed look on his face. He didn't want him to leave.

"Where is it... that he is going off to..?" The boy spoke quietly, his hands pressed on the glass of the tank as he sat up straight, looking at Rein curiously. Now that he thought about it, he did have quite a few questions on his mind. Chewing the inside of his cheek, he thought, maybe, it would be okay to ask. "Who was that man..? Also... What language are you speaking when talking to your brother...? I am... I want to know?"

One of Rein's eyebrows raised slightly once he was asked the question from the boy inside the tank. A slight grin moved onto his face as he looked at the figure inside the box. "Don't worry, Eugen will be back soon. He left to go into port or..basically go on land and stretch his legs a bit, maybe visit a few shops while he's at it heh.." The twin spoke as he moved to set his bottle down on a table near him.

The next question he was asked made him give a small laugh, the creature was so curious it was near adorable and he sat up a bit to get slightly closer to the figure. "Who? Kaiser? He's just an old friend and he's the first mate of the ship or..well I guess you could just say he's second in command. Don't worry he's harmless." The larger male spoke as he glanced at Alkyoni's body, admiring the shine in his skin before moving back to his face. "The language me and my brother speak is Deutsch, or German in English. It's not too different from English but it's definitely easier to learn." Rein explained as he leaned back in his seat once again, grabbing a nearby ottoman to rest his feet on.

As the crew members began to spread out across the dock, the captain stretched with a groan before stepping off the ship. Some of the crew members could be seen having difficulty walking or stumbling about on land though Eugen was used to shifting from land to sea. His legs were accustomed to changing from sea to land and vice versa. Golden eyes roamed the area as he began to walk through the small town, receiving several glares from the towns people while small shop owners looked away from him, trying their best not to catch his attention in fear of getting robbed.

It wasn't hard to recognize a pirate ship when you saw one. Many of the stores in the area had been robbed several times by desperate pirates looking to get some easy loot. Though, Eugen's crew had no reason nor want to rob the stores. Their piracy was formed on the seas not the land and they meant to keep it that way.

Kaiser sighed silently to himself as he watched the crew members fled from the ship. He wasn't one to run about when it came time to port, in fact he found it more comfortable on the slightly swaying ship where things were quiet and peaceful. On land it was still and that just didn't interest him at all. Thinking back to the captured mermaid he caught a glimpse of in the tank, Kaiser guessed they had been communicating seeing as how the two figures both rose when he entered the room. A slight smirk peeled onto his face and he gave a slight chuckle at his thoughts before kicking his feet up on the dining table below the main deck of the ship.

Eugen walked along the rows of small shops, set up by families or travelers looking to earn a few coins on their way about. A sigh left him as he came upon a small jewelry shop with an elderly man as the owner. He sat facing away from the visitor he knew was there and the captain didn't mind as he looked through the valuable items. Many of them were dull looking and tacky in design though one caught his gold tinted eye. A bracelet cuff that seemed to be of some type of aquatic animal with bright stone eyes. The piece reminded him of a certain creature and he couldn't help but smirk as he lifted it off the table. Without asking how much, the dark figure tossed a very small bag of coins at the owner before walking off, the piece of jewelry in hand.

It was around 5:00pm when many of the crew members began to return, Eugen amongst them as he made his way on board. Noticing Kaiser on his way towards his quarters he stopped and spoke to him quietly. "Make sure the supplies are all taken care of. We might be sailing a distance this time around." The captain spoke as he began to walk once again, Kaiser giving a slight nod as his thoughts traveled, unable to guess of the reason they would be going somewhere far and eventually he gave up.

Opening the two doors that led into the main room where the tank was, Eugen let a slight smirk return on his face as he looked at the two figures. His brother, Rein dead asleep in one of the chairs, head back with his mouth open slightly while Alkyoni lay in the tank sound asleep. The large male admired his face as he slept a moment before moving closer towards the tank, unlocking it as quietly as he could before lifting the lid and letting his hand move into the water. His fingers moved over the boy's head a bit before moving to his shoulder, lightly tapping him to wake him up.

As he listened, Alkyoni wondered what it would be like to see such a thing. Of course where he'd lived they had places to purchase things, but it was mainly just necessities and everyone stayed together, living with one another like family. Their organization was much like a pod of whales, never separating and always working together. Everything was so close knit, there was no true need for merchants unless they were travelers. It was a bit disappointing to know that he would never see where Eugen would go.

From Rein's advice it seemed that Alkyoni had nothing to worry about as far as the man who'd entered the room earlier. Perhaps he'd come to know Kaiser like he knew Rein and his brother. He wondered if Kaiser spoke Deutsch just like the two brothers. His name sounded different, just like theirs. Just maybe everyone on the ship could speak German. It would be rather interesting to see everyone talking to each other. Alkyoni sighed and wondered if he might ever learn it himself. The way it was spoken, it was an attractive language and pleasing to the ears. This was the first time he'd ever heard such a language, and it was, well, exotic to him.

Sitting back, he was thankful that Rein had answered all his questions. The man was very outgoing and it was entertaining to talk to him. Though, now that Alkyoni couldn't find anything to discuss with him, he knew it would get boring as he waited on Eugen to return. It wasn't long before he could hear Rein's faint snoring sounds and he sat up to look at him. The sight nearly made him laugh. His mouth was partially open, head back and if he wasn't seeing thing it looked like drool was about to slip from the corner of his mouth.

A small smile tugged at the mermaid's lips and he sighed, slipping down to the bottom of the tank. Resting his head on his hands, his body curled in comfortably in a near fetal position. There was no sense in waiting for Eugen wide awake and bored, so he best decided that he would get some rest in. He hadn't even realized how tired he was until he got comfortable. Soon enough, he, too, had fallen asleep.

By the time Eugen returned, Alkyoni had been sleeping like a log. His body hadn't moved an inch since he'd closed his eyes. Comfortable, he was in a deep resting state and didn't notice his tank being unlocked. He only stirred slightly at the hand on his head that gently stroked over his hair; adjusting his sleeping position, his blue eyes opened into tiny slits before closing heavily again, not bothering to wake up. A soft sound escaped his plump lips and he wrinkled his nose as he felt a quick, light tapping on his shoulder which roused him awake further. The boy yawned as he lay under the water and as he exhaled, tiny bubbles escaped his mouth just when he opened his eyes. As he sat up tiredly, he blinked tiny droplets of water from his thick eyelashes once he broke the surface He turned slightly, glancing upward at the owner of the hand that had been on his shoulder.

"Eugen..," His voice came out quiet upon recognizing the man before him. Part of him wondered how long he'd been asleep, yet he didn't focus too hard on it as he glanced up into the golden eyes that were fixed on him. A sudden shy feeling washed over him, and a light blush tinted his cheeks as he averted his gaze, finding the piercing look from the other man quite dominating despite no tension between them.

Alkyoni glanced up at him once more, and his eyes widened in shock at what was presented to him in the hand that Eugen previously hid behind his back. It was a wrist cuff in the shape of a fish with flowing fins. The color was silver, and its eyes were a turquoise green. He lifted his hand and slowly held it out for the other man to slip the bracelet onto his wrist. The boy smiled, pursing his lips at the mere thought that Eugen had even thought to get him something. Tentatively, he let his fingers brush over the metal, feeling every detail and admiring how it looked on him. It was beautiful.

Biting his bottom lip, he looked up at the captain as he had been about to thank him for the gift he'd received, yet the words hadn't been able to escape. The smirk on Eugen's face pulled at his attention and the faintest of noises slipped past Alkyoni's parted lips from the gentle touch he'd felt on his chin. From Eugen's compliment he blushed, his gaze darting quickly back to the gift on his hand. He couldn't bother to bring himself to speak, as his mouth now felt dry from embarrassment.

Upon hearing Rein's coughing fit, Alkyoni's blue eyes watched him sit up only to glare at his brother. He'd guessed that maybe the man had woken him rudely in order to receive a look like that. At Rein's question, he'd been all too ready to answer, only to be cut off by Eugen as the man told his brother that he'd gone and bought the gift. With a sigh, he looked at the wrist cuff again, adjusting it to where he could see the eyes of the silver fish.

"Do you like it?" The sound of Eugen's gruff voice reached his ears and he looked up at him swiftly.

"Yes. I like it, um, a lot. I'm... I'm very happy that you got it for me." His voice wavered shyly as he spoke, looking down at the water. Nervous. Indeed he was incredibly nervous when that captain focused his attention on him. The captain had a handsome face, of course he did. Not only this but he had such a calculating stare. It was like he silently evaluated every aspect. Like he took in every detail and every spectacle he laid eyes on. Alkyoni had never found it so hard to communicate with someone. Then again, he'd never met someone like Eugen to begin with.

The two large figures both seemed to simultaneously smirk as they listened to the soft and slightly accented voice belonging to the mermaid. The voice was so soft it seemed to almost melt any anger or tension in the room away and Rein leaned back in his seat with a small sigh. It was relaxing to listen to the boy and he couldn't wait to hear more of his voice, thought the tattooed male as he moved to get a drink from his glass of water.

"Good. I'm glad you like it. Don't lose it." The scarred figure spoke with a low and calm voice, his eyes examining the boy's deep oceanic eyes a moment before moving to look at Alkyoni's long locks of dark hair. "Have you ever thought about cutting your hair? I think you'd look good with short hair." Eugen spoke with a small smirk as he lifted his bottle, his sharp golden eyes watching the boy closely as he took a few gulps of the rum.

At the sound of the idea, Rein's excitement got the best of him and he sat up a bit quickly with a wide grin on his face, his grey-like eyes glued to the mermaid as his mind began to develop images of what the figure might look like. The grin stayed on his face and a near silent chuckle left him as he continued to picture the boy, his eyes still looking him over a bit as he set his glass of water down on a nearby side table. A small glance from Eugen answered his silent question and he rose to his feet, quickly moving to clear a space in the other room. A chair was set up in the near middle of the room where the lighting surrounded the area perfectly.

As Rein began to set up the area, Eugen put the bottle of rum down and made his way over to the tank, a small smirk on his face as he looked at the boy. "It can always grow back, but I want you with short hair." The darker figure spoke as he moved a bit of the furniture out of the way. The twin brother returned and the two figures leaned over the side of the tank, their muscles flexing a bit as they lifted the mermaid out of the water, Eugen holding the boy's tail while Rein held his torso lightly.

Making their way over to the chair that had been set up, the two males carefully set the figure down in the seat, not minding the bit of water that had been splashed on their ripped chests. Rein reached behind him and pulled a dagger from the rear of his pants and tossed it to his brother who skillfully caught it. Unsheathing the sharpened blade, he ran his fingers through Alkyoni's soft and dark hair with a smirk on his face, pausing to look at him a bit as his brother pulled up a seat near the mermaid, a large grin still plastered on his face. "Be still." The scarred male spoke before beginning to lift several locks of his hair, cutting them shorter and shorter while being gentle enough not to pull him.

The other male leaned back in his seat in front of Alkyoni, arms crossed and a small smirk on his face as he watched the hair fall, his eyes moving to look over the male a bit as his hair was cut. "Have you ever had a haircut before Alkyoni?" Rein questioned as he let his leg move against the figure's slick and pale colored tail, making it seem like an accident as he adjusted in his seat.

"I promise I won't," The boy replied, a smile tugging at his lips. "I'll take care of it. I promise you." How could he even rid himself of something like this? It was something he knew that he would cherish. Not many people outside of his family had ever given him gifts. He didn't like to count family because, well, they were related to him after all. Now he wasn't ungrateful, it was just common where he lived to receive gifts from relatives. Whenever a mermaid wasn't related to another, a gift was almost like a gesture of affection. Alkyoni wasn't sure about humans, but if they had the same customs, he felt like he could do flips just being in the tank he was in. He was excited that just maybe, well, Eugen could have some affection towards him. Just thinking maybe shouldn't hurt, should it?

At Eugen's question, his head jerked up quickly and his eyes were a bit wide. Cut his hair, well, no that was quite unheard of back at his home. Having long hair was the normalcy for either gender. "W-well, no. I-" He'd been taken by surprise from Rein's sudden movement, and his bright eyes watched his ex
pression brighten considerably. "-
I guess I've never thought about something such as having my hair shortened." His blunt teeth dug into his plump bottom lip in thought. Cutting his hair was something of a drastic change. Well, to him it was. He wasn't so sure that he wanted to go through with it. After his whole life of only knowing longer hair, he felt it would be weird to change the length that was quite natural for him.

Once the captain rose to his full height, Alkyoni sank into the water slightly, looking up at the man as if in a cowering position when Eugen walked over to where he stay in the tank. It was understood. He, of course, didn't have a say in what was to be done. If the captain wanted his hair to be shorter, then shorter it shall be. The boy realized that this man did indeed get things to go the way he wanted them to. Though he was disappointed, he wouldn't make a fuss about it. There was no use in it. Even though it could grow back, Alkyoni thought, who's to say that he wouldn't like the new look that he would have? He told himself to behave wisely, as he knew that the captain didn't have to be this nice to him about it.

As the two men reached for him inside the tank, he flinched away slightly from their touch, still unused to the feeling of being handled by humans. Or by anything, really. The instinct to be on the defensive was still high. A tiny frown pulled at the corners of his mouth as Rein's muscular arms wrapped around his torso and lifted him out of the tank. He immediately felt even more vulnerable not being in the water. Sitting in the chair was even more uncomfortable and not to mention an awkward feeling for him. His hands gripped tightly onto the sides of the chair for fear of sliding right off. Blue eyes went wide as he watched Rein toss a blade towards Eugen, who had been behind him. He flinched, his eyes closed and a shiver going down his spine as he thought of what could happen if that dagger fell short. A sigh of relief escaped him, and he stiffened slightly from the hand in his hair.

"I... I will." He promised. There was no way he would move. Not with a blade so close to him. The feeling of having his hair cut the way it had to be done was a bit painful even with Eugen being gentle as he could. It gave ever so slight tugging pulls at the long locks, causing him to wince when it pulled at his scalp.

Giving a breathy sigh, he looked up at Rein and almost shook his head when he suddenly remembered that Eugen was cutting away at his hair. "No, we don't cut our hair. At least not where I'm from. I'm sure there are others that might," Alkyoni looked at Rein's leg, which had just brushed against his tail. "There's really no need for it, I've never had my hair cut before. Besides, we don't surface often unless... Well, unless it's important. So, it would be quite hard to cut hair underwater. I think so."

The sitting male listened to the boy explain the reasoning for his long hair, glancing up at Eugen who seemed to be concentrating as he continued to clip the long locks. "I see. You'll like it I'm sure." Rein spoke as he sat up a bit, his face close to the creature with a small smirk on it before moving to get up, making his way back over to where he left his glass of water, soon returning with it in hand.

The dark figure standing behind Alkyoni continued to chop away at his hair with the blade, being careful not to pull too hard or cut himself. He measured the length of hair with his fingers, running the blade through quickly and making sure it was mostly the same length. The knife he was using wasn't too great for cutting hair but it was all he had at the moment. The hair cut would be a bit shaggy though he was positive it would still look good on the boy. Small piles of hair were beginning to form around Alkyoni on the floor along with some landing on his shoulders and neck.

After several more minutes of cutting the hair, Eugen took a step back. Golden eyes looking over the hair to see if the length was to his liking and that no longer locks were still left. Rein also rose and grinned widely at the boy, admiring his new hair cut. The two males seemed to move around the sitting figure like lions would to their prey, their eyes almost hungry as they examined him. "You look good." Eugen spoke first and Rein couldn't help but agree silently as he grinned at him.

Looking around the room, the captain moved to get a small mirror lying on a dresser and handed it to the sitting figure. A small smirk was on Eugen's face as he leaned against the nearby wall, arms crossed as he watched the boy look at his much shorter hair. "Like it?" Rein questioned as he let his fingers run through the short yet soft hair, soon moving around to sit in front of him once again.

The scarred figure standing not far off approached the mermaid once again, using his large hands to wipe the small bits of hair free from Alkyoni's neck and shoulders, taking his time as he felt the soft and smooth feeling of the boy's skin. The tattooed twin moved to take the mirror from the mermaid before helping his brother remove the bits of hair that had fallen onto and around his chest.

Once the two males got most of the hair off of him, Rein moved his chair out of the way before lifting Alkyoni's torso once again, Eugen supporting his large tail as they made their way back over towards the tank. Their muscles worked to lift the creature up and down into the tank, being careful not to be too rough with him as they placed him back down. Both men panted slightly as they took a step back from the tank, Eugen taking a seat while Rein went to go clean up the piles of hair still on the floor in the other room.

Alkyoni's ears flattened against his head as he leaned back, a blush dusted on his cheeks as Rein had gotten close to his face. Well maybe he would like it after all. It could turn out to be a blessing rather than a curse. Having lived in the ocean all his life he of course did experience the worst of tangles, and brushing one's hair was quite pointless. This wasn't to say the act wasn't practiced, however. Combing the knots out would get painful if one surfaced often. Luckily, though, not many did such a thing.

Closing one eye, the boy winced slightly as Eugen continued cutting away at the strands of his hair. He would soon be rid of his lengthy brown locks. By now it was too far ahead to even want to protest. Not like he would. With a soft sigh, he slumped slightly in the chair, awaiting the time when the captain would finally be done cutting his hair. One of the things that Alkyoni realized that came with cutting one's hair is the never ending, bothersome itch that lay itself on his shoulder. Locks of hair effortlessly rested on his neck and shoulders, and in fear of the dagger he didn't bother to swipe them away or even scratch at the irritating feeling.

Soon, the mermaid felt Eugen step away, and he felt a slight draft at the nape of his neck. It felt lighter to have his hair shortened, not to mention he no longer had to deal with troublesome knots that built up from being out of the water too long. Upon seeing the two men grin down at him he frowned slightly, wondering what he must have looked like. At Eugen's compliment he reached up slowly, bits of hair falling from his shoulders and onto the floor, and touched the top of his head to feel the short length of hair he now had.

His eyes followed the captain as he retrieved a mirror, and Alkyoni took it gently, his eyes widening slightly at how he looked. It was very, very different. A complete contrast to what he'd always known. As he stared longer at the reflection of his short hair, he let a smile appear onto his face. Different, yes, but he didn't think it was bad. In fact, he quite liked it. As he felt Rein's hand go through his hair, he pursed his lips a brief moment and watched the owner of that hand walk around to the front of him. Looking up at Rein, he nodded quickly in response, "Yes, I do. I like it a lot, actually." The boy stated, happy that he wasn't in any way disappointed. Though in the beginning he wasn't completely okay with cutting his hair, now, he was glad that he'd done it. Maybe, he thought, he needed the change.

The boy let his hand run through his hair more than once, admiring the feel of it as his smile remained on his face. Handing over the mirror to Rein, he looked up at Eugen, whose large and calloused hands moved smoothly across his shoulders to swipe away the locks of hair. His absence wasn't long and Rein returned to help remove the rest of the small strands of hair that clung to his chest and shoulders. The touches were gentle, yet lingering, and Alkyoni thought to pay no mind to them. After all, it could just be an innocent gesture.

Nervously he gripped onto Rein's arms as he was lifted by the two men to be carried back to his tank. For a moment in time he forgot about having to return to the water. Helping them as much as he could, he settled into the tank, and watched as Eugen gently released his tail fin into the water. Alkyoni sat up and let his hands grip onto the wall of the large tank, resting his chin on the side of it as he looked at the captain. He rested his cheek on one of his hands, letting a smile pull at his plump lips as he spoke in a soft voice, "I- um- I'm glad you cut my hair. I really like it... A lot. Thank you, Eugen."

The large captain smirked as he grabbed the nearby bottle of rum next to his seat. "Good. Glad you like it." A low voice spoke as he glanced at the boy inside the tank, still having to get used to seeing him with such short hair. As he took a gulp from the bottle, he felt his stomach begin to rumble silently. Eugen had forgotten about his slight hunger since he had been so busy focused on Alkyoni. After a few seconds of relaxing, the scarred male rose to his feet and gave a wide stretch. "We'll be right back Alkyoni. Be good." Eugen told the mermaid as he stood in front of the tank for a moment, letting his hand move to lightly touch the top of the boy's head before starting towards the door of the room, dragging Rein with him.

The twin rolled his eyes with a groan when he was dragged out the door. So much for being alone with Alkyoni.. The male thought as he walked next to his brother, a bit of a frown on his face as they both made their way down towards the louder dinning area beneath the main deck of the ship. As they entered the large room, the level of noise seemed to grow as the majority of the crew sang lazily and danced around drunk. Most of the men down there didn't recognize or pay enough attention to notice the twins, several of them too busy enjoying their night.

Kaiser raised an eyebrow as he saw the two dark muscular figures enter the room. It wasn't often they joined the crew mates for dinner and he wasn't surprised when they made their way straight for the food. When the blue-eyed figure was glanced at, he raised his bottle of rum to Eugen with a small smirk on his face before watching them leave silently.

Three plates were carried back towards the captain's quarters. Eugen carrying one large plate along with a slightly smaller one while Rein carried his own, already beginning to eagerly eat off of it. Once they walked back into the familiar room, the two large figures made their way towards the seats facing the tank, the tattooed male sitting down with a sigh as he continued to eat his meal. Setting his plate down on the nearby side table, the scarred twin took the third plate over towards the tank smirking down at the boy inside. "I brought you something to eat, thought you might be hungry right about now." The male handed him the smaller plate, on it a sea food dish that he was sure Alkyoni would like.

Moving to sit back in his seat, Eugen propped his legs up on one of the nearby ottomans and began to eat his food calmly, resting his head against his chair as he watched the creature eat. Rein gave a quick glare at Eugen before mumbling something incoherent under his breath and shoving another fork full of food into his mouth.

Once Eugen rose to his full height, Alkyoni watched him with his thin eyebrows furrowed, curious as to where he would be going off to this time. With a small frown, his blunt teeth buried themselves into his soft bottom lip and he sat up straight as if he were leaning into the soft touch that the captain gave to his head. Instead of asking where the man was going, he just mumbled a gentle "Okay," as he watched the twins leave the room. The boy watched until they were out of his sight, and he sank back into the water of the tank. Reaching up with one hand, he was about to begin to play with the ends of his long hair, only to remember that he didn't have the length anymore. It made him a bit disappointed that he could no longer see how long his hair would stay in a curl using only his finger. Despite this he was still glad with how short it was now.

The boy gave a sigh as he leaned back against the glass wall, his tail fin curling at the tips from the cool feeling it gave. Though it was boring having to wait for their return, he didn't mind the alone time. Lifting his head he opened his blue eyes, not even having realized that he closed them in the first place. The bright blue gaze that belonged to the creature glanced down at the wound in his tail. Of course he could still feel the dull pain from it, but it looked as if it were healing just fine. It wasn't like he moved around that much after all.

His ears perked slightly at the sounds of boots thumping on the thick wooden floors of the ship. Thinking that it was perhaps Eugen and Rein, the mermaid sat up quickly; he was greeted with the sight of them holding two porcelain plates. An eyebrow raised in curiosity as he looked on, and he moved to grip onto the edge of the tank once more. A small sound left him and he pursed his lips as he couldn't see what was on the plate that Eugen was carrying towards him.

"I brought you something to eat, thought you might be hungry right about now." Spoke the man, his voice gruff and low.

"A-ah... Thank you, for... Well, feeding me again." Alkyoni replied softly, taking the dish with both hands as he looked up at Eugen. The boy then sat back against the glass wall to where he could still see the other two. He admired the decorative porcelain before even looking at the food. It had gold and black trim, with bright golden leaves scattered about the circumference in a beautiful contrast to the black. Along with the leaves there was bits of dark green that let up to indigo colored flowers. His pink lips quivered and he smiled a bit at just how pretty it was.

In the center of the plate was a neatly sliced fish, it's head and tail on opposite ends of the dish for an aesthetically pleasing and dramatized effect. Surrounding it were bright green Shiso leaves and an edible, minced seaweed salad in the center of two fresh fish fillets. Alkyoni's eyes were wide as he stared at it, his mouth open slightly at how decorated it was. The boy looked up at Eugen and Rein with a confused look, wondering how or why they'd gotten such nice cuisine. Perhaps it had been from the port.

This is so good... The boy thought as he gave a soft moan at how delicious it was, his eyes closed as he practically shoveled food into his mouth with the silver fork he was given. Panting, he took a break from eating so fast and looked down at his plate, seeing a picture in the middle of the dish where the seaweed had once been. It was a large flower, it's color was gold and on the inside of it's petals rested the same indigo that had been on the smaller flowers. Glancing up at the two brothers, he gave a tiny smile as he lifted a sliced part of fish to his lips. "This is really, really good." The boy spoke just before taking the bite of his food, a pale blush on his cheeks from the shyness he felt.

A smirk spread across the dark male's face as he listened to the boy thank him for the food. "Of course I'm going to feed you again hmhm..You are mine after all." The figure spoke in a low voice as he gave a glance up at him before continuing to eat his food. It was only a matter of time before Alkyoni really knew what he meant by that statement and Eugen couldn't help but feel eager to get to that point.

Both brothers continued to eat their meal, though Rein couldn't help but grin at how much the boy was loving the food. Moving to grab his drink and taking a few gulps from it, the tattooed male stiffened slightly once he heard the soft moan leave the mermaid and he began a fit of coughing after choking slightly on his beverage. Rising to his feet, Rein continued to cough and sat his plate down before moving outside of the captain's quarters. Outside the coughing began to subside and he was able to finally take a breath of air. "Man that boy.." The male spoke to himself quietly with a slight laugh under his breath, his excitement obvious and he took several deep breaths before being able to calm down a bit.

Eugen's eyebrows rose a bit in surprise as he heard the loveable sound leave the mermaid inside the tank. His ex
pression was calm as he smirked though on the inside he could slightly feel the same excitement Rein had most likely felt. A low laugh left the scarred figure as he watched his brother rush out of the room in his coughing fit, continuing to shovel food into his mouth while glancing up at Alkyoni every few moments.

"That's good. I thought you would like it." The dark figure spoke as he sat his fork down for a moment to take a drink from his bottle of rum. Though it was obvious, Eugen was glad the boy liked the meal and he would be sure to remember what exactly he had given him.

Rein sighed as he reappeared from outside, avoiding eye contact with the other figures in the room as he moved to sit back down and finish his meal. "Sorry about that heh..Needed some air." The male spoke with a slight laugh and grin as he let his eyes meet Alkyoni's once again before letting the grey-like spheres travel over his figure. The tattooed male soon set his plate aside and rose to his feet once more, already full from the large plate of food that was nearly empty. Seeing as how the boy had also finished his meal he moved towards the tank and motioning to take his plate before moving towards the small dining room separate from where they currently were. When he returned, Eugen smirked and motioned for him to take his plate as well, earning a growl and a small glare from the figure as he grabbed the plate and returned towards the dining room.

"Faul." The twin growled to his brother as he made his way back towards his seat, a slight laugh leaving the male sitting not too far off from him. "Du bot an, die Platten nehmen." Spoke the other figure with a low chuckle as he adjusted in his seat, his baggy and torn pants hanging a bit low on him and he got more comfortable in the large chair he was sitting in. His large muscled frame shown several scars in various sizes, one of them looking rather deep along his side along with a few others. Eugen's damaged arm was healing quite well though it still wasn't too nice to look at. The pain had subsided though it would still be a bit sore to move his arm a certain way sometimes, though he didn't pay too much mind to it to notice. There was no doubt his arm would have a new, and not too pretty looking, scar though he wouldn't mind seeing as how it came from Alkyoni.

((Translation: "Lazy."   "You offered to take the plates." ))

The boy's eyes went wide as Rein began having a coughing fit; his ex
pression akin to shock at how he was choking. Before Alkyoni could bother to ask if he was okay, Rein
stood up abruptly only to leave the room shortly thereafter. A small frown appeared on his face as he wilted slightly, glancing up at Eugen who had been laughing at his brothers' misery. With a small shrug, he continued eating, nearly done with his food by the time Rein had returned.

"Sorry about that heh..Needed some air." The man spoke, his voice sounding a bit raspy from the coughing that he'd done prior to leaving.

Alkyoni looked up from his plate and pursed his lips, his brows slightly furrowed. "Are you alright..?" He asked, sounding genuinely concerned. With the fork in his hand, he bothered to finish the last bite of food, feeling completely full from the meal that he'd quite literally gorged himself on.

His blue eyes watched Rein walk over toward him, and he dipped his head down almost submissively as he was motioned to give up his plate. "Thank you," The boy murmured softly, glancing up at the captain's twin just as he handed over his dish. Looking over at Eugen, who had also been just about finished with his meal, he watched him finish eating just as his brother walked out of the room. Pursing his lips, he smiled a bit, letting a small laugh escape him as the captain offered his plate for Rein to take the moment he got back.

As Eugen adjusted in his seat, Alkyoni looked over him curiously, his gaze stopping on the large scar that decorated his side. He wondered just how the man had gotten so much damage done to his body. Biting his lip, he continued to look over him, stopping when he noticed the wound that he'd inflicted on the captain himself. It looked as if it were healing up just the way it should have been. No doubt it would be yet another terrible and painful looking scar. After all, it obviously had to have been painful.

{ Probably not complete idk >~< }

A set of grey eyes looked at the boy in the tank and he smirked a bit and gave a slight nod. "Yeah don't worry I'm alright." The male reassured him before glancing at his brother with a hidden mischievous look, his twin noticing it and shaking his head with a slight roll of his eyes. The relaxed feeling in the room disappeared instantly once a loud boom was sounded not far off. Rein and Eugen both rose with a slightly alarmed look on their face. The sound was easily recognizable as cannon fire from a ship and they both began to get ready for the battle that would soon come.

The scarred male moved towards the open tank, letting his hand brush up against Alkyoni's face as he began to close the lid softly, locking it tightly before moving to grab several weapons that had been lying around randomly. Rein had been practically shaking with excitement as he rushed out of the captain's quarters. Adrenaline was beginning to reach him as he saw the nearby ship emerging out of the fog, full of roaring pirates closing in the gap in between the Hades' Deceit.

Kaiser wasn't far off and the captain rushed over to him, a low growl sounding from deep within his chest. "What is this?! Ye lost the sound in yer voice?! Why didn't you tell me about this ship?!" The violent voice spoke with a snarl and the first mate sighed and shook his head slightly as he replied. "The fog sir! I, myself couldn't see the ship sir." Kaiser replied in a calm but loud voice, only to speak over the roar of men ready for the soon to come battle. A rough rock of the ship kept Eugen from replying as pirates began to pour into battle behind him. Several ragged figures were charging at one another and many of them fell with injuries that were soon put out of their misery.

Eugen snarled as several men attacked him one by one, each one soon meeting their death as the captain ruthlessly put them down, not a single one able to touch him. The twin was running around with a large grin plastered on his face, his sword and clothing tainted with the blood of his enemies as he slaughtered several at a time. For him, it was like a game and he couldn't wait to finish it. The tattooed figure continued to rush about, knocking down enemies and killing them quickly without a second thought.

A young male crew member grew nervous as he lost his balance and fell onto his back. A small grunt left him as a slight pain set in from the fall and he opened his hazel colored eyes to see his enemy raising his sword above his chest. His own blade had been lost several feet away and his breathing began to pick up as a bead of sweat ran down the side of his face. Shutting his eyes tightly, he waited for the sudden pain to hit him though it never did. Instead athe fall of his enemies blade on the deck next to him made him jump slightly, and he opened his eyes to see a long blood covered blade sticking out of his enemy. A confused look covered the young figure's face as he watched the blade remove itself from the man's torso. The body fell nearly on top of him and he couldn't help but scoot back slightly and he looked up to see a large grin belonging to the brother of the captain. A bl
ink and the figure was gone, already entering a fight with another pirate not too far off.
