-Monday, lunch-

"Told you to have back off." Asher growled. He packed away his lunchbox into his backpack as Hale finished the pizza slices.

"Well, actually Ash, Hale-" one of the girls began but Asher cut her with another growl. He hated being called Ash, and he wasn't ready to argue with of the girls again.

The bell rang, thankfully, and Asher got up out of his seat quickly. Him and Hale walked quickly to the biology class and sat next to each other as usual.

The period went by quickly and they soon had their second break, although it was very short, Asher exchanged his books again and met his friends outside in the sun.

"Is Quin joining?" Hale asked. Asher just shrugged. "Think the girls scared  her off?" Hale asked, nudging Asher.

"I wouldn't say scared her off, probably just put her off. We'll see if she comes and finds us." Asher replied, who nodded.

Asher closed his eyes and heard Hale going through his backpack. "There's a granola bar in the front pocket. Biology homework in my diary." Asher said, not opening his eyes as the sun warmed his face.

"Thanks." Hale replied, Asher nodded. A shadow fell across his face and he opened his eyes, not making out who it was as his eyes adjusted to the light.

Quin hid behind the thin branches of the blossoming tree, keeping still as she watched Asher 'converse' with his companions. This form was the most comfortable out of all of them, thankfully.

She twitched and lowered herself slowly, latching her talons onto the thicker branches. Now, this was satisfying; spying.

Quin launched herself gracefully into the air and swept right above Asher's face, making sure to shed one lone feather right above his nose, mentally grinning as she watched Asher carefully for a response.

-Monday, lunch-

Asher smirked at the feather. "You know, if you want to join us, you can just come and sit down." Asher spoke, hoping Quin would hear him, and chuckled. Just then, the bell rang and Asher groaned, not particularly excited to go to history.

"Um, Asher, can I hang out at your house after school? Please?" Hale spoke softly to his friend. Asher sighed, looking at his friend's pleading eyes, and nodded. His friend smiled gratefully before heading off to his own classes for the last periods.

....

The last bell rang and Asher smiled as he packed his stuff away and hurried to his locker, throwing his books away and taking the books he needed for the little bit of homework he had received.

He headed to his motorbike and spotted a bird waiting for him. Hale had decided to fly to Asher's house. Asher started the engine and roared home, laughing as Hale dipped before him.

"Mom, I'm home!" Asher shouted into the silent house. "Mom?" Asher frowned, his parents must be out working. Again.

"Do you miss your parents being around?" Hale asked, greedily helping himself to the food in the kitchen.

Asher sighed, sitting down at the kitchen table and starting his homework. "I don't know, they've never been around so I don't know what their company is like."

Hale looked over at him, frowning, "You can talk to me, you know that right?" Hale sat down with his sandwich and began his math homework.

"You know you can talk to me as well, right?" Asher asked his friend. Hale looked up and frowned, as if he was going to say something, but then looked down to carry on with his math. Asher sighed.

"Please don't sigh at me Asher, it's hard to talk about." Hale explained.

"It's okay, I know." Asher said, the atmosphere becoming uncomfortable. "I'm going out. Clear my head." Asher said, getting up from his chair and walking out the door.

He shifted into his Arctic Wolf form and called for his dog and together they jogged off into the forest. Asher hoped he wouldn't see anyone along the trails, but unfortunately, he did. He shifted back into his human form and called Ruby back.

They seemed young, as if they were in high school as well. Asher wondered if he knew who it was, and carried on walking.

Quin shook her head slowly, not caring whether anyone saw it or not.

Hearing the bell screech in her sensitive ears, she swooped back to the bathroom and pulled back on her dark blue tanktop and ripped black jeans, carrying her black jacket in her arms.

Next period was a nightmare, as usual, and she was aching to escape as soon as the last bell rang. She gathered her things and headed out the door, throwing her keys in the air and practically dancing as she tracked down her white camaro and slammed the door shut.

......

"I'm home!" Quin yelled as she walked through the doors, wiping mud off her converse on the welcome mat.

She climbed the stairs and threw open the door to the room, throwing off her jacket and turning on her laptop, sweeping her fingers over the keys as she surfed for anything to keep her not bored.

-Monday, evening-

Asher drifted off the path to avoid being seen and shifted back into his Arctic Wolf form. It was getting dark so he raced Ruby home.

As they arrived he saw Hale open the door. Asher shifted, "Stay for dinner." he told his friend. Hale just nodded.

Their friendship was weird, they never spoke much, but they knew what the other wanted to say so it didn't really matter.

Hale gave Ruby some water to drink and started on making dinner, macaroni and cheese. "Are your parents coming home tonight?" Hale asked, he was scribbling answers onto Asher's homework.

"Probably not. Dad's out 'working' and mom's at the bar, i think." Asher replied, feeling ashamed of his parents. He loved his parents dearly, but he did not respect what they did and what they did to each other.

Asher filed the bowls with the food he made and set it at the table, giving Hale a fork as well. Hale nodded his appreciation. Asher gave Ruby her dinner as well and they all ate in silence.

"I should get going." Hale said, frowning at the time.

"Yeah, okay." Asher followed his friend to the door, give him a quick bro hug and stared into Hale's eyes trying to work out what was wrong. Hale turned away, shifted, and flew home.

Asher sighed, finished up his hoemwork, packed his bag and went to shower and go to bed.

(Note: I feel this would go much faster if we skipped to weekend xD or just school in general :p)

~Next Week/Monday~

Quin slid a black and white sweatshirt over her head and folded up the edges of her light denim jeggings. She slid a few textbooks into her bookbag and did her hair in a simple messy bun.

"Good morning," she called cheerfully into her brothers' bedroom, smirking as she heard them snore even as she pulled on sandals and slammed the door shut.

Quin breathed the morning air slowly and closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, she had a long grey snout and tilted aqua eyes with large cone-shaped ears twitching on the top of her head.

She pranced around the yard and took off on the side of the road, feeling her fur being ruffled by the breeze, and suddenly, a familiar scent roamed over her head and she stopped abruptly.

Turning towards the scent she raced off in the direction, recognizing the inhuman quality of it, and the shapeshifter bearing it.

-Monday, before school-

The weekend had gone far too quickly for Asher's liking. He groaned as his alarm went off at 5 am. He pulled on some running shorts and shoes, deciding a shirt was not really necessary in this weather, and went out jogging.

The jogging had done him well, clearing his mind of everything happening around. His parents not being home, Hale's parents, Hale not telling him what was going on and Quin. There was something about her that he couldn't figure out, he didn't know if it was confusing or a breath of relief to have someone different and new.

Deciding to not think anymore of it, he went to shower and changed his running clothes for a pair of jeans, sneakers and tshirt. He brushed his teeth and did his hair, grabbing his bag and stepping out to face a new Monday.

He climbed onto his motorbike and smirked as the engine roared, he frowned at the empty spaces where his parents usually parked, then pulled out to go to school.

...

A short ride later, Asher arrived at school. He took his helmet off, spotted his friends and strode towards them. He greeted everyone with a hug or high five before reaching Hale and gave him a big bear hug. Hale just laughed, causing Asher to smile.

Asher glanced around before seeing Quin across the school grounds. "Hey Quin!" Asher raised his voice before jogging over to greet her with a hug. He wasn't sure if she would accept it, but he did it anyway.

~Monday/Before School~

Quin stopped in her tracks, remembering that school started in an hour and ran back home, grabbing her book bag from the chair and turning the key in the car. Soon after, she was headed on the road to the institute.

On the way there her phone rang and she leaned her head on her shoulder, trapping it between. "Yes?"

"Quin, Dr.Earle has returned from her vacation. I'm scheduling an appointment for tomorrow, okay?" her mother's voice crackled over the phone, and Quin groaned.

"Another one?" she answered, swerving to the right to avoid a few squirrels. Her mom had gotten a psychologist for her a few years ago, and she had skipped through many, but this one stuck.

She was unbelievably probing, and Quin hated her for her professional way of annoying her by treating her like a girl years younger. But her parents had insisted on keeping her.

"Quin, you need this. For your own good," her mother pushed, and she reluctantly agreed, pulling into the school parking lot and ending the call.

Quin stepped out of the car and walked onto the sidewalk, her eyes glued to the phone. She leaned on a nearby column and texted her mom, requesting if she could ask the office for a later appointment. Tomorrow she was staying for an after school activity.

Suddenly, Asher approached an engulfed her in a bear hug, and Quin froze for a few moments, until he finally peeled himself off her and smiled. He.... He hugged me, she thought as she stared at him awkwardly.

"Mor... Morning," she blinked, hating herself for stuttering and walked around him. That hug felt strange. Almost.... warm.

-Monday, first period-

Asher smiled, "Come on, kiddo." He walked towards the group and gave everyone a warning glare, before standing next to Hale. He chatted with his group, making plans to hangout as a group this weekend. His phone chimed and he looked at the message to see he had been added to a group with everyone else for weekend plans.

Asher saved a couple of the contacts he did not have, including Quin, before the bell rang. The group let out groans. "See ya'll inside for lunch." Asher grinned, saluted at everyone, and walked beside Hale to their homeroom. The friends shoved each other off the pathway before Asher won, by pushing Hale into one of the bushes.

Asher laughed, giving a hand to Hale. Hale smirked, and Asher realized too late that he was going to be pulled in. He landed on top of Hale and they both groaned from the pain. "Not your best plan mate." Asher laughed, and Hale joined.

They got out the bushes, dusting each other off and jogged to homeroom realizing they were late. After getting the announcements that did not apply to him in anyway, they went to their first class.

The first periods went quickly and it was soon lunch, Asher and Hale hurried to their lockers grabbing their books. They were walking to the cafeteria, when someone called Asher. Asher turned around and a body connected with his in a hug. Hale's eyes were wide and Asher looked down, seeing the almost white hair. "Um, Alaska?" Asher asked, shocked himself.

Asher looked up at Asher, and then around the hallway, seeing Quin at the other end of the hall. He half smiled, watching for her response. He heard Alaska talking, but he was watching Quin.

If she is, here is my response <3

~Monday/1st P~

Quin tagged loosely behind the cluster of students surrounding Asher and shook her head, clearing her thoughts as she opened her locker and jogged to her homeroom. Her homeroom teacher called her name as soon as she entered.

"Quin, you have a schedule change! Here it is," she handed a slip of paper to Quin. She studied it and read a message on the back, with the principal's signature below.

I hope this schedule change will encourage you to focus more in class. Have a wonderful Monday! ~Principal Lanman

Quin smiled; she hated her current schedule. Scooping her binders in her arms, she jogged to her new homeroom to hopefully catch her new teacher before the bell rang.

Arriving out of breath in at the doorway, she handed the schedule change to her homeroom teacher and collapsed in a seat in the middle of the classroom, ignoring all the stares from students around her.

A girl with red hair and pine-green eyes nudged her gently. "Hey, what's your name?" she whispered. Apparently, she spoke for the whole class.

"Quin," she gasped breathlessly, while the teacher, Mr. Ruck, scanned over the slip of paper she had given him and studied her.

After setting it down, he smiled widely. "Morning, class! As you can see, we have a new student joining us today. This is Quin, and she just had a schedule change. Please greet her kindly and introduce yourself during break." He stressed the last two words, glaring discreetly at the red haired girl.

The girl blushed and scooted back to her original spot, keeping her eyes away from his commanding self. Quin grinned.

After the bell rang, Quin opened her locker and glanced to her left. She stared at a white haired girl clinging to Asher, who she recognized a few feet away.

For some reason, this bothered her very much, though she couldn't put her finger on why. Asher glanced over to her and she held their gaze, frozen as she watched the girl grin and laugh about something, even as Asher didn't notice the white haired girl.

Ooc; Yes, Alaska is a girl.

-Monday, lunch-

Asher broke his stare with Quin to look at Alaska. "I haven't seen you in a while." Alaska giggled, touching his chest with her pale hand. Asher looked at her and then at the hand on his chest.

Asher smirked down at her, "It is a pretty big school. You joining for lunch?" Asher asked politely, Alaska nodded eagerly. Asher smiled before sending Hale a questioning look, Hale just shrugged at him.

Asher led the way with Hale on his one side and Alaska on the other. A hand slipped into his and Asher glanced down to see it was Alaska's. He nudged Hale, who glanced over and gave Asher a look. Asher looked to find Quin but couldn't see her in the crowded hall.

Asher frowned before seeing her at the usual table. Asher sat down, Hale sliding into the seat next to him. Alaska sat in her usual spot before she left them, right next to Asher.

Alaska looked in Quin's direction. "Oh, hello. I'm Alaska, Asher's girlfriend." she said, smiling.

"Ex-girlfriend." Hale corrected for Asher. Alaska glanced over at Hale, sending him a glare.

Asher shifted, uncomfortable with the situation, and with Alaska sitting so close to him. The table was awkwardly silent, and Asher tried to make eye contact with Quin but was distracted when he looked under the table to see Alaska moving her hand closer to Asher's.

"Alaska, don't." He growled under his breath, just for her to hear. She sighed, crossed her arms and turned away from him.

Quin shook it off and turned the other way, getting ready for her next period. Suddenly, a tanned hand caught her shoulder and she spun around, opening her mouth as if to retort to the person who interrupted her.

"Wait up!" the red-haired girl yelled, slipping on the floor and connecting with a very loud thud. "Ouch."

"Are you alright?" Quin bent down, pulling the girl up by both elbows. The girl blinked and shot up from the ground, hitting Quin's nose with the top of her head.

Quin dropped the girl's elbows and smothered her gushing nose in her sleeve. "Omigosh, sorry," the girl exclaimed in a Scottish accent, picking up her purse and thrusting her hand into it.

Soon after, it emerged with a blue hankerchief, and the girl smiled apologetically. "Sorry, I don't have any tissues with me right now," she said, handing the hankerchief to Quin.

"I'm Song," she added. Quin shook her head and ran off. The next periods were relatively interesting and she kept notes through the whole class.

At lunch, the white-haired girl sat at the same regular table. "Oh, hello. I'm Alaska, Asher's girlfriend." Quin set her spoon down. Her sleeve was still soaked with thick blood, even though she had washed it in the bathroom after 3rd period.

She heard Hale say something but everything was blurred. I'm Alaska, Asher's girlfriend, kept playing in her mind, over and over again. Quin's irises narrowed into thin black slits.

"That's nice," she gritted out, her sleeve leaving a red smear on the table.

-Monday, lunch-

Asher raised an eyebrow in Quin's direction. "What happened?" Asher asked, looking at Quin's sleeve covered in blood. "You okay?" Asher's tone was flat, due to the discomfort from the girl next to him trying to snuggle next to him.

"Alaska." He growled again. Hale placed a hand on his shoulder to calm down again.

"Oh, come on Ash. I'm sorry." she hissed at him.

Asher sneered at the hated nickname. He looked around the table to see all eyes on him. "Sorry for? Playing us all? Just being friends with them to get with me? Then telling me to stop being friends with them? Is that what you're sorry for? Or are you sorry that you got caught?" Asher questioned her, trying to keep his voice down to not make a scene but it was hard when he was angry.

Alaska glared at him, before grabbing her stuff and leaving. "I don't even know why I tried." she muttered under her breath before going to a table across the cafeteria. Asher's hands were in fists. Hale patted him on his back.

Asher grabbed his bag and left the cafeteria, storming off. "He needs to walk it off. I'll go." Hale volunteered, jumping up and jogging after Asher. Asher led them outside before leaning against a tree in the cold breeze. Hale joined him, "Are you okay?"

"No." Asher laughed, before rubbing his hands together. Hale just rubbed his back.

The bell rang and Asher let out a breath. "Wanna ditch?" Hale asked. Asher nodded, eagerly, and they shifted. Asher flapped his wings of his falcon form and flew towards town with Hale closely following.

They ended up at a pizza restaurant and the two ordered their food, which Asher paid for, and got his phone out his bag now that he was back in his human form.

Hi everyone, sorry for lunch. Hale and I are at the pizza place in town if anyone feels like ditching. Pizza on me c:
Asher sent the text to the group chat and eagerly inhaled his pizza, hungry enough for another one if anyone joined.

~Monday/Lunch~

Quin tried not to look at Asher and Alaska as they argued. She figured that he was too busy with that to listen to her explanation, so she concentrated on eating, but that did not make the food taste any better.

The last bell rang the few hours after that and Quin ran outside to her car, but her phone chimed with a new message.

Hi everyone, sorry for lunch. Hale and I are at the pizza place in town if anyone feels like ditching. Pizza on me c:

Eh, sounds good. Quin shifted into her arctic fox. It had long grey fur with a white stripe on her muzzle and more around her legs with tilted aqua eyes.

She ran through the forest and arrived at the edge of the town before shifting back and finding Asher and Hale at the nearby pizza place. She slipped into their booth and ordered a simple pizza with pepperoni.

After a long awkward silence she stared at Asher and Hale before grinding out,"Care to fill me in?" She leaned back against the cushioned wood to make way for the waitress with her pizza.

"Lunch, ex-girlfriend, and pizza," she gestured at her steaming pizza impatiently before adding gingerly, "Lovely combination."

-Monday, after school-

Asher raised an eyebrow. "Doesn't matter." He growled, it was a sore subject still. He shifted uncomfortably and Hale glanced over. Asher knew what Hale was going to say, so Asher cut him off with a sharp glare. It was his story to tell when he was ready.

Asher sighed a breath of relief as more of his friends arrived. "What was that about?" One of guys asked, who was sort of new to the group as well. Asher looked up from his phone.

"You're not the first to ask." Asher said, glancing over Quin, "It's a sore subject still." Asher answered quickly after Hale elbowed him sharply in the ribs.

"Anyone else ordering something?" Asher asked, calling the waitress over to order another pizza to share with Hale and a cold glass of water. "Did someone get our homework?" Asher asked, suddenly remembering that he had not been at school for most of the day.

A bunch of papers and notes were placed in front of him and Asher looked through it, thanking everyone who contributed and promising Hale he would make photocopies.

Asher glanced at his watch, "There's still time. Anyone keen to bring group plans closer and hang out at my place tonight? Stay the night as well? Parents aren't home." Asher asked, Hale just gave Asher a sad look. Asher returned a glare and paid the bill for everyone.

~Monday/After School~

Quin raised an eyebrow in return but didn't say anything else. Soon some friends she had made in Asher's 'inner circle' came after her and ordered pizzas until the whole table was piled with saucy, cheesy dough covered pizzas.

Homework discussion came easily; she fished out a study guide for biology; Coincidence right?

After throwing it in the only available bare space of the table, she looked on the messages on her phone and saw that her mother had changed her appointment to next week.

"I'll come tonight, or at least I'll try," she nodded in Asher's direction and thanked him for paying. She sped off towards home and threw open the door.

"Dad, I there's this thing I have to be at tonight," she yelled up the stairs, knowing that her dad, the only one home right now, wouldn't care. She ran up to her room and packed a blue sleeping bag and black pillow in a duffel bag.

~Monday/8:00 p.m.~

Quin rang the door bell for a few people waiting outside Asher's door and grinned slightly as he opened it, his light hair sticking up in all directions.

"Hey, Asher," she said as he looked around blearily. "Remember? Plans tonight?"

Ooc; I only see hair?

-Monday, after school-

Asher walked out the pizza place, shifted and flew towards school to fetch his motorbike. He started it and drove home quickly.

Upon arrival, he saw Hale had made himself at home. Asher grabbed the remote and switch the TV off, much to Hale's dislike, and demanded he helped clean the house. They went through the house, cleaning anything dirty and washing and drying the few dishes in the sink.

Asher decided to have a shower before everyone arrived and peeled the sweaty clothes off his body and showered quickly. He pulled on some black shorts and a white tank, which defined his biceps nicely he must say, and walked out the bathroom.

Hale smirked at him and Asher raised an eyebrow, which he seemed to do often, and caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. He tried to comb down his hair as much as he could with his hands, but the bell rang.

Asher walked over, opening the door and saw his friends standing around outside. "Yeah, of course." he chuckled, stepping aside and letting everyone walk in. Before he shut the door, he saw a familiar car in the street, before it squealed off. Asher shut the door and walked towards the lounge. "What was that?" Hale asked.

"Um, a car. Alaska's car." Asher realized, frowning, sitting down on the couch next to Hale.

"She needs to get over you." Hale said, rolling his eyes and grabbed the remote, choosing a movie for the group.

"Yeah." Asher mumbled under his breath. "Help yourself to anything." Asher announced, before going to the kitchen, hoping to find a distraction.

As he entered, he noticed a figure already there. "Oh, hey." Asher said, leaning against the kitchen wall and crossing his arms over his chest.
