Chaston wasn't really sure about what was going on. Traine seemed to have worked some sort of magic on his twin, calming Kentaro down. She felt a bit inferior. Normally, she was the one to calm others down- to comfort them. She wasn't really sure why she felt sort of... rejected.

She felt a bit better, though, that he wasn't mad at her, and that it wasn't her fault. How his voice dropped to a whisper intrigued her. It was as if something were to be a secret. Secrets bothered Chaston, but she was a good secret keeper. She kept every secret she'd ever been told, unless it was a dangerous secret- like someone wanting to commit suicide or something.

She felt odd when he asked her if she believed in fairy-tale creatures. She read about them all the time, researched them and stuff, but she didn't believe that they really existed. Her dreams like that had been extinguished along with finding out that Santa Clause, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny weren't real.

"I used to believe in them when I was a little girl," she said, remembering back to when she was around seven or eight, her hair in high pony-tails, looking out of a dark window into the forest. She had always had a feeling that someone watched her at night. It was odd, but she just thought it was imagined once she reached age ten or so.

Willow placed himself in front of Chaston, making sure that he separated her from the two boys. The vampire one- Kentaro- was making him anxious, and worried for Chaston's safety.

((Traine will stay silent for now))

Kentaro nodded and lifted himself from his brother's hold. He was still on his knees but he was no longer laying across his brother's lap. He looked at her and breathed out heavily, unsure if he should even continue like this. No pain, no gain. He closed his eyes and opened them. Blinking a few times before he managed to get his voice back. He opened his mouth and was going to say something, but all that came out was a little whimper. Damn,

"Well... Believe in them again. Believe that they exists because I know for a fact that some do. Their worlds and your world are mixed. Their people mingle with yours and their lives are as normal as yours can be as well. They walk in disguise and false faces. They hide in shadows when they can't disguise and walk among you in the sun if they can."

He rubbed his arms and placed his hands on his knees, his eyes closing, unsure of what to say next. He didn't know if he should say this right now. It's not like they told him he couldn't reveal anything to a human or whatever other species he came into contact with. He breathed in slowly and out shakily, unsure of himself now. He was this far in but wanted to just stop there. If his fangs could, he's bite the words before they managed to escape his lips. But this had to be done, at least in his mind it did.

"I don't... I mean... Okay... They are real. I'll tell you that. Santa clause and some other main aren't. But a great vast majority of them are. I know, because I'm one of them. Werewolves and werecats are some of those that walk among you. I belong, however, to those who prefer the human night scene.... Vampires. Blood sends our senses into hyper mode. We can't see straight and our minds are flooded with the urge to bite and drink. We want to consume the blood of the living so we can live. Blood is food for us."

He didn't know if she's believe him, but he was more than ready to show her that he wasn't lying.

Chaston wasn't sure what Kentaro was about to do when he whined a bit. What was going on here? It was pure confusion for the ivory-haired girl.

She situated herself leaning up against the section of the wall that had the dent in it, arms crossed, Willow at her side- her ever faithful companion.

When he began to tell her to believe in them again, she bit back disbelief. A tiny part of her wanted to believe him, but the majority of her thought he was on drugs. She was even further intrigued when he claimed that he was a vampire. This was going too far for her tastes.

She could understand a little practical joke, but Kentaro looked serious.

Willow, oblivious to the conversation going on among the teens, layed down at Chaston's feet, head resting gently on his front paws, back rising and falling with the weight of a sigh.

When he finished, Chaston let out a few stiff laughs, blood-colored eyes wide, cheeks red with embarrassment.

"Your joke isn't funny, Kentaro," she said, clenching her hands so that she could feel her fingernails digging into the flesh. If she would have squeezed just a bit harder, she would've drawn blood, but, upon remembering that Kentaro didn't like blood, she kept her nails from puncturing the skin.

"It's really not funny at all."

Kentaro sighed. He should have expected this to be her answer. He knew she wouldn't believe him and that wasn't good. Not one bit. Now he's have to show her what he really was and that in itself was dangerous. He didn't wanna hurt her and he just met his brother. However, he was this far in and he had to tough it out in order to get her to trust him at least. He closed his eyes and searched his brain for some ideas on how to show her that he is really what he says he is. He bit his lip and he got a idea!

"Okay. I'll prove it to you. Typical vampire stuff first. The less painful this is the fact that we're faster than normal. I will show you. And I'm going to show you much more."

Kentaro stood up and looked around, unsure of where to go to. He decided that just across the room would be sufficient. He nodded to himself and took a step forward before he pretty much blurred from where he was to the other side of the room then back. He stood there a moment. He shrugged and started to lift from the floor, laying back in midair, his arms behind his head as though he was resting in a hammock. He floated around the room a couple times, floating above the sofa as if he was laying on it. He dropped down onto the sofa and looked at Chase.

"Now.. The more painful part. Mostly painful for you guys. I am stronger than you, drink your blood, and the sun hurts my body when i walk out into it. That is the only part I won't show you because my necklace keeps me from burning."

He got up from the sofa and stalked over to his brother. He knelt in front of him and solved him down onto the floor with a loud thud. He grabbed his brother's  shirt collar and hoisted him up with one hand, his grip right. He brought his brother down and wrapped his arm around his shoulders and leaned his head to one side.

Traine huffed and tried to get away, making disapproving noises when he was grabbed suddenly and hoisted into the air. He grabbed his brother's hand and struggled with him, tying to free himself but to no avail. He whined but was soon trapped in his brother's grasp around his shoulder. He made a small noise before he felt something graze his neck, something very sharp. It started to freak him out. He should feel the grazing become stronger until it drew blood and a cold tongue slid across his neck, gathering the blood before he felt the wound closing. He was released and Traine fell to the floor, shaking.

Kentaro grabbed his brother, trying to comfort the poor guy. He felt bad, but at least chase would have to give him some credit.

"See.. Not a joke."

Chaston was frightened as Kentaro moved across the room, a blur. He said he'd prove it to her, but she didn't want to believe him. Her logical mind was still churning as he started to hover. Magic tricks, she convinced herself. He was taking the joke a bit too far. This was frightening, though, because she couldn't figure out how he was able to do it.

When he moved over to Traine and lifted him off the ground, she didn't think it was anything unusual. Frightening, but not unusual. She'd seen bullies do it all the time, and Kentaro seemed to have enough muscle to lift Traine up into the air.

However, as Kentaro placed his face near Traine's neck. She couldn't see all what was going on, but Traine seemed to be scared out of his mind. So... Maybe Traine was in on it, too... They were brothers, after all.

When Traine fell to the floor, Chaston had started shaking, just like Traine was. She didn't want to believe him. In all honesty, she really didn't have enough evidence to believe him. Just about the only way that she would believe him was if he did something drastic- bite her, per se.

"I don't believe you. You've taken your joke too far. Magic tricks like that are easy to do. Traine could be helping you out. If you're just going to pick on me, then leave," Chaston said, biting her lip. Willow growled slightly, but it faded. It wasn't loud anyway, just a light, low rumble.

"Wait, what?! You still don't believe me? What the hell do you want me to do? Bite you? Bite my brother and make him a vampire too? Break someone's bone with my finger?"

Kentaro sighed and rubbed his temples, dropping his brother in the process. He rubbed harder, wanting to make the growing headache go away. That wasn't something he wanted to do at all. But if Chase would believe him, then he might as well. Then again, he didn't want to hurt them. Maybe he should just shine something super bright onto his hand and burn it. Maybe the sun would peak through the clouds a little bit. As if on cue, there was a small ray of sun filtering through the window just behind Kentaro. The beam hitting the space just next to him. He groaned and sighed. Maybe this would be the answer.

"Fine. If you don't believe me. I'll show you something."

Kentaro breathed in deeply before he reached around to the back of his neck, clicking the necklace loose. He placed the necklace on the floor in front of him and already his eyes glowed a dark red. He blinked at the sun next to him and shakily put his right hand out. He brought his hand into the sun and immediately felt like his skin was melting off, his skin didn't react at first, but after about ten seconds, his skin started to steam, then smoke, then burn. It started to crackle like a fresh log on a roaring fire. Kentaro's eyes widened at he let out an ear splitting shriek at the sensation of his skin burning. Tears sprung from his eyes and he pulled his hand away, the whole hand black by now, he held his hand to his chest, cradling it.

When Kentaro clicked off his necklace, Chaston got a growing feeling of dread. Her eyes flicked to the window as the sun poked through the clouds and filtered through the window. She didn't think that he would burn himself.

But he did.

The smell of singing flesh flowed into Chaston's nose. In disbelief, she just stood there, frozen. When Kentaro shrieked, she was broken from her trance just in time to see him pull his hand away from the light. The sunlight faded away, and the storm picked up again.

Luckily for the albino girl, the thunder and lightning was still far away, although it was getting closer, much to her dismay.

"Oh my god!" She yelled, moving over to Kentaro quickly, afraid to touch him, and afraid to even get too close. His hand was blackened, burned. "Wh- What is..." She didn't finish her question. She knew the answer.

"You stupid, stupid idiot!" She pursed her lips.

Maternal instincts finally taking over, she reached out her hand, her slender fingers clasping around Kentaro's uninjured arm., and, much to her surprise, she pulled him into a hug.

Traine yelped when his brother dropped him, not sure if he would do anything more to him. He looked at his twin, who seemed conflicted about the whole thing with the sun. When he saw Kentaro's hand start to burn like a marshmallow, he flipped! The ear shattering scream ripped at his heart and when Kentaro brought his hand out of the sun, he was already at his brother's side, but couldn't react before Chase went and hugged him.

Kentaro let a few tears.ip. He hasn't burned himself that bad since the time he first got his obsidian necklace. He grabbed the necklace and clicked it back on his neck with one hand. The burnt hand was already starting to heal itself. The black bits were already falling off Nd being replaced by new skin. When Chase pulled him into a hug, he couldn't help but help and then struggled. He didn't like being touched really and it surprised him. He didn't know what to do, so he just kind of sat there.

"See.. I burn.now do you believe me? I don't care if you think I'm an idiot, you wouldn't believe a word I said."

He hissed out that last sentence because if she had believed him, his hand wouldn't be falling apart and rejuvenating itself. He looked down at the newly formed skin in his hand and nodded. It healed over quickly, but there was still the smell of burnt skin and the pile of ashy skin peelings that fell off his hand.

When Kentaro struggled in her arms, and yelped, she released him after he asked her if he believed him. She backed up a few steps, biting her lip again. The skin there was dangerously close to breaking again, but, upon remembering how Kentaro was around blood, and the fact that he was a vampire, she made sure to let loose of her lip.

"I'm so sorry! It's just that I've been picked on a lot, and I thought you were picking on me," she said, watching his hand regenerate at an alarming pace. Ashes fell to the floor, giving way to new, regular-looking skin. She was almost envious of this power, being able to heal so quickly. Chaston was accident prone, and, if she had the ability to heal that fast, she'd never be cursing over a stubbed toe, scraped knee or elbow, or a jammed finger joint.

Willow simply stood in the corner now, looking at the pile of ashes, then up at Kentaro's hand.

"I just..." She almost felt like crying for causing him pain. "I'm sorry for causing you pain..."

She actually felt one tear bead on the bottom eyelid of her eye, but she wiped it away before it could fall. No more tears fell after that. Chaston was a relatively tough girl, but when she hurt someone, she became sensitive. It was odd, but it was a part of the girl's personality.

Kentaro shook his head. He didn't really care if he hurt himself more because of the fact that he could regenerate so quickly. It wasn't something he really needed to be careful of. The sun just hurt like nothing else. It would just burn away at his skin and leave charred remains. He shivered just thinking about it. He knew he should be scolding her for not believe him when he kept telling her he was a vampire. The again, being made fun of for believing in those things was common in the human world, so may e he couldn't completely blame her for not trusting him to say the truth. He shrugged it off and looked at her.

"S'okay.. I heal quickly so it doesn't really hurt anymore. Just a little sting really."

He shrugged it off and looked at Chase once more before turning to the ashes his hand left in the floor. He sighed and took his necklace off once more, holding it above the charred remains of his hand. The necklace glowed before it caused then remains to give off a faint glow themselves. They disappeared in a flash of fire, which didn't burn anything else. He replaced the necklace around his neck.

Chaston was glad that he forgave her for her stupidity in not believing him. In her mind, that's all it was- her stupidity. She always blamed herself for things. It was the way that she was raised- she was raised to consider herself as the source of a problem before she considered anyone else. She put others in front of herself to help them, but didn't usually accuse people.

She looked down at the fire, burning the ashes into nothing, and not even charring the floor. She was startled, but not surprised. However, she was curious as to what else Kentaro could do. It seemed that the necklace held a good bit of power.

Willow, frightened by the fire, went back over to the couch to lay down, placing his head on his front paws.

"I... So..." She didn't know what to say to the fact that he was a vampire- something that she'd been lead to believe was a myth. "So you're a vampire..." She bit her lip. "I probably asked you when we were in the woods, Kentaro, but I don't think you answered..." She paused.

"Why were you following me in the woods? Why did you help me...?"

Traine piped up at that moment after not having been talking for the whole time. He gabbed his bother's hand and pulled it across him, examining the new,y formed flesh. It was amazing how fast his brother had regenerated such skin. It was like nothing had happened and then when he burned the ashes to nothing and didn't even scuff the floor beneath, it took his breath away. He smiled and moved the digits, seeing that they in fact, worked correctly.

"Amazing.. Wow, a vampire for a brother... Wait.. You followed her I the woods?! Are you some sort of creeper?"

Kentaro laughed slightly at his brother's  antics involving his newly made hand. He shrugged and looked at Chase when she asked her question. How could he tell her about his higher ups assigning him to take care of her? How could he even begin that story. Much less get her to believe that he wasn't stalking her for some unknown reason that even he did t quite understand himself.

"Well... I was.. Assigned to watch over you. To make sure than you weren't harmed in some way that could put your life in danger. I wasn't told much, but I was told that you ran off in the middle of the night, sometimes to places you don't know of but have a connection to."

He looked at the house and shivered. This house brought so many memories back of when he was first turned and that wasn't fun at all. He didn't like it one bit and he wasn't about to start forgetting about that story. He sighed and looked down at the floor, where the ashes once were. He rubbed his necklace and looked back at Chase.

"I was basically told to keep you safe. If that meant carrying you home after you'd run off then so be it. If it means dragging you unwillingly back home so your safe, then I had to do it."

Chaston giggled a bit at Traine calling his brother a creeper. It seemed plausible, though. Why else would someone follow a girl into the woods. Normally not because of curiosity. Her bright red eyes moved from Traine as Kentaro began to speak again.

"So... You're like my protector...?" She raised a brow, very confused. "And... Who assigned you to watch over me?" She was not only confused now, but very curious. "What else do I not know? Am I in danger or something?" Her voice got a bit higher.

"I.... Why am I important enough for someone to watch over me? How long have you been watching me?" Her lips were pursed.

She felt like all of this had been going on for a long time. Where she got the feeling from, she didn't know, but it was there.

Willow didn't seem to care all that much. Chaston wasn't in danger at the moment, and the dog always seemed to be in the mood for a nap.

Traine held his comments back and just opted to examine his brother. He crawled around him, feeling his jacket, which seemed to be made of some kind of Colton that wasn't of here. He toughs at the necklace, making Kentaro grab the front of it and yank back. That was odd. But then again, he had removed it before and Kentaro ended up burning his hand to a crisp. He looked at his brother's hair. Normal enough. He shrugged it off and sat in front of him, looking at his eyes more than anything. It was a little weird, but he HAD just found out he had a brother and said brother was a vampire at that.

Kentaro allowed Traine to just tug at various clothing items. The only thing not from the human world was his sweater. He looked at Chase, unsure of her question himself. He didn't even really know his own higher ranked being. They were vampires, he know that much. They ere very very old. Maybe a thousand or so years. He looked at the floor and tried to think about it. Why was he asked to do this again? Why was this one human girl so important. She was albino, sure that made her different but not vampire different. He rubbed at his temples, wanting information from way before.

"Honestly... I don't know.."

"Well that's useful," Chaston said sarcastically, sighing, running both of her hands through her ivory hair. "Ugh." The rain came back again, it seemed, as Chaston peered out the window. No sunlight was showing anymore, and the thunder was fast approaching. Crud.

It wasn't as if she freaked out when thunder storms occured, was it?

Well, she did kind of start shaking, and occasionally freak out. Still, it depended on how much rain she was exposed to, and if she could hear the thunder or lightening. There was also something about a thunder storm that made her feel uneasy. It was the way the atmospheric pressure shifted, or something.

As thunder struck, this time much closer and fully audible- a loud, loud bang-, Chaston misheard it as a gunshot from the past, wincing, and putting her hands over her ears, shaking like she always would when thunder storms happened. Low rumbles of thunder sounded after the one large one, and Chaston heard those as growls.

Men with fangs, ripping at two adults from her past. She wasn't sure what it meant, but it scared her. And now that Kentaro had revealed himself as a vampire, she didn't feel so crazy about her flashbacks anymore. But that was replaced by worry that Kentaro knew about these men.

She wouldn't ask him about it now, though.

She moved away from the boys and to the couch, curling into a ball on it, biting her bottom lip again. She opened her eyes to find the window-panes painted with blood- only visible to her eyes- and shut her lids tightly again.

Trains looked at Chase as the thunder came closer and closer. These sounds seemed to affect her very negatively. When she got on the couch and started to curl in on herself, Traine crawled over and put his hand on her head gently, carding his hand through her hair in a motherly fashion. He looked at her, desperate to know what was wrong, he barely knew her, but this was not something anybody should go through.

Kentaro watched as all was going on. He sighed and stood up, well, more like started to float. He drifted over to the windows and closed the curtains, blocking the rain from view and did so to all the windows around them. He searched for a light switch just to be sure all of the lights were on and flicked on any that were off. He floated over to Chase, before he dug into his coat pocket and pulled out a pair of headphones, the large dj typed ones and placed them on her ears gently. The iPod attached to the headphones came on and started to play a few rock songs he had. Shuffle was on so the songs ranged from rock to piano and back again.

Chaston flinched at Traine's touch, but didn't move. She curled tighter into her ball, her muscles tense. Willow had witnessed this spectacle many times, and he so far hadn't found a tactic of calming her down that actually worked. So, he simply watched as his master tensed, feeling anxious on the inside.

She could hear blinds being lowered and curtains being closed, but no footsteps as Kentaro floated around. She couldn't see him, due to her eyes still being tightly shut. She didn't want to open her eyes, afraid to see blood on the window panes again.

When she felt her hair being moved, making room to place large headphones on her head, she relaxed as the sound of a random rock song played in her ear. It wasn't too loud, but it blocked out the outside noise effectively.

When that song ended, it went to a piano song, and Chaston opened her eyes to see Traine standing, and Kentaro floating, around her. She gave them an apologetic look, embarrassed to have broke down like this around them. The visions this time brought on by the thunderstorm were a bit different.

They seemed... more real.

That's why she was this upset about the storm.

Though she couldn't hear herself say it, it sounded clearly through the room.

"I'm sorry..."

Traine watched his brother float around, still amazed by that little trick of him. It seemed like fun, but he was unsure if he wanted to do that too. What if he went too high and smashed his face on the ceiling or something. He shook himself from his thoughts when Kentaro put the headphones on chase's ears. He smiled softly and he knew this brother was his. He remembered kindness and that actually was the only thing he could remember.

"I'm sorry..."

Traine looked at chase and continued with his ministrations, making them a bit slower because his fingers were getting tangled and he was untangling her hair. He smiled again, but this time he smiled at Chase, who finally had her eyes open.

"Don't say sorry. It's not like you can prevent yourself from getting scared. All of us have something to fear. I mean, I'm sure even undying Kentaro ha something to fear."

Kentaro stayed floating but was floating like he was laying on his stomach. His legs bent at the knee and he was kicking his feet back and forth. He felt good being able to calm her down from this. When she apologized, he opened his fanged mouth and was going to speak, but Traine took the words right out of his mouth. He couldn't really add anything onto that. He shut his mouth and smiled slightly. More like a small twitch. He floated closer to Chase and moved one headphone away from her ear so she could hear them.

"I do have fears. I mean, all creatures do. Even the mighty ones are scared of something. Werewolves fear dying and the full moons because of their bloodlust... I fear... Well... I'll save that for another day."

Chaston could just barely hear Kentaro and Traine over the music playing in her ears. They were... not angry with her for her weakness. She was happy. Willow scampered off to a different room as Chaston readjusted herself on the couch, loosening her muscles so that she wasn't curled into a ball anymore.

Traine's hand in her hair felt amazing. Nobody had played with her hair in years. She'd forgotten what it felt like. It was a comforting notion that made her think of something long ago. A memory. One before she was in the orphanage. She could almost feel it coming to the surface, but, just as it was about to reveal itself, it faded again, leaving Chaston a bit sad.

Still, the sadness faded when she felt Traine's hand in her hair again, loosely combing through tangles. She couldn't help but lean into his touch.

So Kentaro had a weakness too....

She was a bit disappointed that he wouldn't share it, but she was okay with respecting his privacy.

"Thankyou for understanding." You two are nice people.

She didn't want to mention how average males would take advantage of her in her current position.
