"Panther." Chase said flatly, glaring at her.

Alex just sat their quiet "I don't know." She finally said. "I use to think you are a  certain way for a reason, maybe I was made a vampire for a certain reason." She sighed looking for at him. "Maybe I was ment to kill my boyfriend for a certain reason, I don't know."

"Fine then. Panther" Lanen lips twitched. "Is that all?"

Bran nodded thoughtfully and thumbed through the book. Lightning...locks...shields...gravitationall whatever... "Well, you should let her know if you want to be de-venomed." He said, closing the book and setting it aside.

"Yup." He said bluntly. "Well it's all I want to shift into, I can shift into anything." With that he shifted into a table then into a falcon then back to a human. "I just chose no to unless needed."

Alex nodded "Or I can do set changes, where I drain a certain amount of my own blood then gain it back from an animal cleanly, after you do that for a year or so your blood is clean, unless your body goes into shock.." She paused. "Then we die." she said bluntly.

Lanen started laughing. "You could be a great spy!" She said between gasps. Her laughing subsided eventually and she drew an arc in the dirt with her foot. "I just have three forms; human, wulf, and anthro. But I can also manipulate elements and heal. Stuff I had before I was turned."

"But its still cool that youre able to do it." Bran said, shrugging. "A little risk in life makes it fun." He grinned. 

Chase laughed. "Yea, panther seemed to be what I can control best, so I roll with it." He laughed and turned into his panther form, and from there he layed down in the dirt an shut his eyes.

"Yea." She laughed a little bit. "That's what Adam said before.." She trailed off. "Well ya.." She laughed. "So I'm here talking about my ex, what about your girlfriend, where's she?" Alex asked with a peak of curiousity.

"Hmmm." Lanen rolled her neck and hugged herself, rubbing her arms. "Should we be goin back to the building? We've been away a long time..."

Bran chuckled and shook his head, leaning back and looking at the ceiling. "Ah. Well, I dont know exactly where she is. She could be far away or as close as right beside me." He looked at her and smirked. "You didnt just call Lanen my girlfriend, did you?"

Chase sat up and shook his head. You can go I'll meet up with you later. Then he closed his eyes and laid back down in the cold dirt.

"No, I didn't." Then she thought about his words. "What do you mean you don't know where she is.." She asked curiously.

Lanen nodded but stayed where she was, looking back at the building and pursing her lips. She sighed and sat down. "Maybe I'll leave them  alone for a while. People need their alone time." She drew up her knees and laid her head on the tops, curling her tail around.

"I mean, I dont know where something I dont have is." Bran said, tilting his head. 

Suit yourself. He breath heavily. You better hope when we come back your friend wont be dead.

"Oh." She frowned. "I'm sure you'll find the perfect girl soon." She half smiled. "Oh, and tip don;t kill them, it's not fun." She laughed.

"He can take care of himself," Lanen mumbled into her knees.

Laughing, Bran nodded. "Yeah. That would be wise." A bird hopped on the windowsill and erped at them and flew off. He watched it go for a while. 

You better hope. He laughed in his head. He may be tough but he better hope he has charm. That's what kept her from killing her last boyfriend at first, didn't stop her the second time.

Alex watched the bird fly away then she looked down at the space between her and Bran. "So, do you believe in all the love junk out there like soul mates and true love." She huffed and shook her head.

Lanen shrugged. "Bran can take care of himself. He almost took care of me." She laughed once and sighed, looking out at the trees.

Bran shrugged. "I dont know. I believe in natural attraction," He answered, bringing his legs up and resting his arm over one knee. "Like in Fox and the Hound." His tips twitched at the childs movie Lanen had all but forced him to watch when it first came out. Though he had to admit; it had been pretty good.

Chase was silent. "I heard." He finally said but then was silent again.

"Sadly, I never watched that movie. I'm even more surprised you know what it is." She said laughed and raising an eyebrow. Alex stretched and leaned back resting her head on the back of the couch.

"Hmm. Have I said that already?" Lanen asked, stretching her legs out and smoothing the fur. "I must'a forgot. That must be why he calls me goldfish."

"Only because of that movie, hon." Bran laughed and put his arm behind the back of the couch. "What about you. Do you believe in that stuff?" 

You have, and yea goldfish have at leasta three second attention span and 30 second memory. He chuckled to himself again.

Alex shrugged. "I don't know, not really since I haven't found anyone since my last boyfriend, but I'll believe it when it happens." She looked over at him and smiled. " I can't believe you watch the Fox and the Hound." She laughed.

"Then he's pretty accurate." Lanen laughed. She stood up and walked around, undoing her braid to do it over again. She let the streaked hair hang down around her while she ran her fingers through it, wincing at knarls. "I hate this. Im gunna chop it all off one of these days."

"Lanen made me!" Bran lamented, bringing his hands up. "She loves the old Disney movies. It was talking animals and birds and a caterpillar and ah!" He slumped with his eyes closed, though he opened one. "It was pretty good though. Ive watched it a few times since, but dont tell anyone." 

Why, a simple hair brush would solve the trick and deep conditioner like my sister uses, she values her hair more then her life I think. He finally opened his eyes and looked around the sun was still bright so he closed them again and let out a sigh.

"Wow." She started getting weak. "Your, sad. Just sad." She managed to say in between her laughter. She put her hand on his shoulder "Made my day." She said still laughing and wiping away the tears streaming down her face.

"Do I look like I carry a brush around in my pockets?" Lanen asked, tilting her head. "And conditioner..." She shuddered and went to the other side, finishing and starting to rebraid her hair.

Bran grimaced and placed his hand over Alex's. "Glad I made someones," His grimace turned into a smile.

At least then you wouldn't have to cut your hair, I used conditioner once, my hair was so silk soft. He teased.

Alex finally stopped laughed then looked over at his hand on hers. She smiled and let her hand slide off his shoulder. "You did." She laughed again. Then she looked down and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.

"But you havnt used it since?" Lanen asked, quirking and eyebrow. She give the rubberband a final twist and let her braid fall, shaking her head.

Bran's grin widened and he scooted closer. "So did you," he said softly. Now he didnt know what to do. With Lanen it was always so easy to tell what she was thinking. Most girls he'd ever come across werent and he still hadnt learned.
