Obviously not a huge suggestion, but I think it would be a good idea if we upped the stakes in the site weekly raffle! It currently:
Costs ONLY 75 TU to buy a ticket
Which was a measly amount even before all the super-inflation on the site.
Only stocks with a minimum of 50,000 tu
Allows you to purchase a maximum of 1000 tickets per day
If you purchased the maximum amount everyday, you'd have 7700 tickets, which means you've only contributed 577.5k to the pot. For most users, this is not a significant amount in the site's economy nowadays, and doesn't really encourage anyone to participate. As a result, winners' pots rarely reach 5m.
I remember the days when raffle prizes used to reach 100m+, and it was a lot more fun back then, with much higher user participation than there is now. Obviously in the past, there were problems with richer users rigging the raffles by purchasing extreme amounts of tickets, but I think that problems been solved with the implementation of a maximum number of purchases.
Therefore I propose that:
Ticket costs be increased - to a much higher amount - perhaps 10k?
Minimum stock of TU be increased - also to a much higher amount, such as 500k.
Maximum tickets purchased daily be reduced - to something like 100 tickets per day.
If the above was implemented, a user would be able to purchase a maximum of 700 tickets per raffle, which would contribute 7m to the pot. I think
that is a decent amount that many users wouldn't mind contributing, as it's not too high of a loss and not too hard for newer users to make.
I think it would be a super simple edit, and would just be another fun thing for users to participate in and look forward to.
