Special Items or a Pet for Birthdays

Birthdays are supposed to be festive and such so here's a few ideas

A weekly/daily update of people with birthdays coming the week of, something like that.

Maybe a unique/special item to be given specifically to the birthday people. Like a Birthday Present from the site.

Or a sort of unique "seasonal" birthday creatu/egg, so a creatu specifically made just for birthday purposes.

I would love to get a special present from the site xD

I think it would be a fun little feature, maybe a HA item or a special birthday bundle

I would also LOVE a new birthday pet but I doudt that would happen and I can see vs people making multiple accounts... Maybe one that is non transferable?

 

I dont really like the idea of an update, im sure there are loads of people would wouldn't want their birthdate announced, plus all the inactive accounts birthdays being announced seems a bit silly and pointless to me ;-;

Its a lovely iidea though!

Maybe if we compacted the birthdays into 3-month periods this would work out. An update four times a year, with a "click here to claim your birthday prize!" link that will be valid (as long as your signup DOB falls within the current 3-month period) until the next 3-month update rolls around. By requiring a click to claim, we eliminate the problem of anything being issued to inactive players and the server load that would accompany an automatic issue.

Okay, realized I didn't subscribe here, oops.

also it's a double-edged sword with the birthday item account locking.
like it's their birthday gift and they can do anything they want with it, but at the same time there's a moderate risk of multi-accounting too. ;n;

and yeah, what 14bm suggested will work out pretty well.
no pressure for a daily pickup of a birthday gift in the confines of a day or week, so having a few months to pick whatever it is up is plenty of enough time.

I think special pets for each month would be great. I think the time frame should be lower than the rest of the seasonals though.

This is a great idea considering it was my Res birthday today and I didn't get a gift ;o;
Lol, anyway yes, I think it would be sweet and users would appreciate being remembered and loved by the site <3

This is a great idea, a special birthday gift/pet/egg would be really great and would make everyone feel remembered.

I'd like it since I don't really get to celebrate my birthday IRL. As for the item issue, maybe just a cake or temporary avatar or something? Maybe a temporary site theme?
