Creatu shaming might be a cool effect. Like, some are holding signs, some have signs hung around their necks, some of them look ashamed to have done what it written on the sign but others just look proud or oblivious. Examples (maybe):
Quelis looking confused with a sign that reads "I like to spray ink all over new people"
Zaphao, slightly ashamed with a sign saying "When I get excited I cause power surges that put the power out"
Wyrae, proud/goofy dopey look with a sign "I drool acid!"
Etc.

Some sort of design where it looks like the creatu is made of light might be cool. Sort of like an illumination effect so, "illuminate"?

dirty bum and squeaky clean effect like yer pet can look all stinky and dirty or make it look freshly cleanedXD

Des: I'm not sure how that would apply. There's the elemental Mud Cake already listed. As for squeaky clean I'm not sure how that would change the appearance.

Maybe like a knights theme? ;o; Like the creatu wear different types of armor or something? Like depending on what planet there from, they'll wear a different style and color of armor. :3 |

Bejeweled: the creatu becomes rhinestone encrusted. Trapped: The creatu becomes encased in a jewel that is colored to its native home planet (ie. Atquati is Aqua blue, Reiflem is red, etc.)

Demonic: The creatu gains a set of horns in it's planet's colour but a darker shade of it. They would also get flames with the darker shade of the home planet's colour above it's tail or at the tip of it, as for the bugs they have a different set up, around their necks, around their paws/feet, and for winged creatu they would have fire on parts of their wings. The bugs would have fire on their legs and on all of their wings. Instead of the happy look they have in their final forms the would look a bit evil and demonic compared to that.

I like the idea of tribal that was brought up, like doing what some of the alola pokemon designs have been doing (incorporating things from different aspects of island culture).
Going on that note, we could have the opposite of the undead, which would be the survivors. Maybe fierce creatu that don't necessarily have to be super buff or have huge claws, but you can tell they've had to fight to stay alive. Disheveled fur, tired eyes, dirty, maybe kind of beat up. |

tbh the illuminated is sort of implemented, frost light pets have light coming from their inside, eyes mouth etc :0 valentine is really cute, maybe a slight warm/pink hue to the pet as well?
ooze and planet could be fused to make the 'unknown' effect - uldavi space goop? B) though the cosmic's kinda side by that concept, so.. *shrugs*
ahea's shame sign should be 'i ate all the fish from the koi pond'.

Season / weather effect? Not sure how it would apply to all, but spring/summer/autumn/winter theme changes for all of them?
Or rainy/snowy/misty/sunny.. Not sure how would sunny would work, maybe along with sweating creatu, or winter/summer coat changes..
Length of fur for some of the creatu.. Some can look like hibernating with snow on their fur.. Or at least that's what I am envisioning. |

I think I'd like to see a metallic effect on the creatu. The effect could be something to where the entire creatu looks like it was made out of cast iron or some other type of metal. I do realize we have the Silver/Gold dye, however I'd say this effect could look more along the lines of this:
