Another feedback/suggestion but I don't know where to put it as it's not event related. But it's about the golden grab bag though I know it's already been adjusted recently so I don't know how helpful the suggestion is but I was seeing
some just wanting clothing, some just books, some just food, ect. I
wonder if they could do several bags, one with all retired books, one
with all rare avatar clothing, then one with all food but still with the
same 1% chances but that way the people that want Clothing/Food/Books
are getting atleast one of what they want lol even if it's not necessarily "the" one they wanted. But I can also see why it might not work, as you want the chances much higher probably to get what people want so that's why everything's pooled together like it is. But just a thought.

Winter 2021:

Contests:
Love that they're open for longer this time to account for people being busy over the holidays and that we can just upload the images directly without having to fight with anything or find an image hosting site. Also that voting is closed until the images are all uploaded, that's key so people that upload early don't get an unfair advantage.

Tree Decorating:
There should have been some sort of warning/indication that we wouldn't be able to use candles this year if we were going to remove them like we did. They've been an established part of the event for years now. It's just kind of a snub to your loyal users that spend extra time on the site throughout the year preparing for stuff like this, the ones that have been here for years and continue to support the site with at least their time. If it had been an event that had happened once and then changed it'd be fine, but this was a long-established event that had always had candles as a core part of it.

Also, once the leaderboards closed, the shops should have stopped limiting purchases. Whether the items remained event rarity or not I have no real opinion on, but if there is no leaderboard to fight for I don't see the point of keeping the purchasing limited. I hit the milestones long before the leaderboard closed but I would have 0 issue with people that couldn't for various reasons (including not having time to do the captcha 2,000 times) having it a little easier to get the required items. The milestones are almost a consolation prize for those who didn't get onto the leaderboard so why should we be making them so difficult to get after there's nothing left to fight for? The limiting isn't helping anyone or making it fairer anymore, all it's doing is continuing to make it difficult for those who obviously already found it difficult to get what they needed while also affecting everyone who isn't even interested by continuing to make it insanely hard/annoying to restock for the quests we are constantly encouraged to do. Restocking for quests is already a massive pain, this just makes it pointless to even do quests that require items from these shops until the event is over. While the leaderboard is open I can see the argument for it and it's fine, but once it's closed I really don't.

For egg hunting - a way to change the glow color would be great! I had to stop hunting Divuin after a very short time because eye strain - the green glow did not stand out, especially in the greener hued cave area, and the eggs are practically the same color as the background. The ctrl+a method does not work for me well either with the blue highlight being the default color.

Further winter 2021 now that everything has happened:

Contests continued:
Having to vote 4 separate times per entry seems excessive. All 4 categories should be on one voting modal and we can just give all our ratings at once for each image. I would personally also prefer not to be redirected to a new page to view the images and instead see a modal but I can see the issue if someone submits a bigger image so that's less important (maybe an "expand" button within the modal but have it show up as a modal to start?)

Advent Calendar:
Thank you for announcing the results in a timely manner. That's always appreciated.

Egg Hunting:
I said it before and I'll say it again: Shorter time limit with an unlimited pause feature. I barely force myself to do the Halloween hunt, all others I don't even bother with because I just do not have time to find a 48 hour block to hunt in. Rather, I tend to have 1-2 hour blocks scattered throughout the week.

Overall:
This event is going on for 2 months, that just seems a little long. I think condensing the release of some of these features would have been better (why did we have to wait until January to do frost tunnels when the event started Dec 1? We still don't have a Narwi exchange open, are we getting one at all? Are the Narwi eggs we get from the ice tunnels the only ones entering circulation this year?)

Further feedback on the winter event:

If there are going to be new and unique items/prizes for the Narwi exchange, the egg hunt for the other species should remain open for it. I still hate doing egg hunts so I didn't do them, thinking the exchange would be for Narwi eggs as usual. Now I'm surprised to find that there is a clothing item and an avatar involved, meaning if the hunts were still open I could at least go start one up and find enough eggs to cover the milestones. For people who do not have stored up stuff from previous years, just the little things you can earn through exploring aren't nearly enough to get the milestones.

A quick edit now that I've actually gone to turn in eggs: That selection box is absolutely miniscule. I can see 3 things at a time. At least provide a spot on the box where we can expand it, or else make it bigger by default.

Ice Tunnels feedback - if there was a way we could feed a pet an ice apple directly from the ice tunnel page that would be great. I stopped trying to even frostlight my pets two days in because having multiple tabs is just a pain in the butt.

Also, it seems like the chances to find the light are very limited. I used over 50 ice apples in just two days. I know that RNG sometimes just do be like that, but for newer users, this seems awfully unfair.

Finally, seconding what wolfspirit said about voting; I would love to just expand entries without having to open them in a new tab, especially for the HA contest since there are so many entries. I just gave up part way through voting for that one.
In addition, being able to change or view your vote would be great - there were at least two I misclicked and voted differently than I meant to.

Valentines Feedback

Event three (?) of saying this milestone interaction system is terrible and can we PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go back to "click on online profiles once per day" instead? The current system:
- Heavily favors users who are "popular" and/or have time/desire/ability to be on the SB
- Doesn't really promote interaction, just ad spamming
- Requires you to be online on a timer instead of just having time when you're able to click through everyone's profile. Yes, we cut it down from 30 minutes to 15 minutes. However, while this has made it more possible for users that are online more, it creates a new problem of you having even less time to be offline between clicks if you want to be efficient. It's better, but it's worse in its own way too.
- If everyone else needs to decline (for example) and you need accepts because you started late or something, you're basically doomed because everyone is trying to hit their own milestones

If if doesn't already (it didn't seem like it from my test but I could be wrong), sending outgoing requests should give progress toward dailies. I specify "sending" and "outgoing" because the dailies shouldn't rely on your ability to have someone request/respond to you (see first point above). ONLY the act of sending an outgoing (doesn't matter if the person responds to it or not) should be what pushes your dailies forward, but considering with the current system we're encouraged to sit on Res without breaks every 15 minutes, we should also be rewarded with dailies for that effort. If we swap to the profile clicks (please) those should also reward progress I believe.

It's not as bad as with Halloween but we're getting to the point with the little bonus prizes where once again it's so incredibly hard to get the ones you want because there are just so many. Maybe cycle them a bit? Whatever there's a ton of in circulation make those either not available this year or rarer at least? I don't know the best solution but trying to get the new squishies is an exercise in "my luck will never allow it"

Also, was it intentional to put those items in the shops as "rare" or "very rare" instead of "event"? Because that means they'll show up in quests for the duration right? Which seems a little rough for people that do toy/food/book quests. If we're encouraged as much as we are to do quests, all events need to be cognizant of that fact.

Valentines Suggestion:

Couldn't we have a system that keeps the milestones to achieve, with prizes, but you have the freedom to go visit user's profile and have it be a random generated treat (Love/Apathetic) is handed out at random when you click on it on the users profile and have milestones "Track" the number of Love/Apathetic treats you collect letting you hit the milestones that way?

Don’t have the energy to type up something full, but it would be nice to go back to the past method of visiting profiles just like others have said. I’m really not sure the reasoning behind kit, but I’m going to be frank, I have not participated in the events with this method since the first one because I do not visit the shout box and cannot get to the reward levels. Being online daily and not advertising has gotten me exactly zero requests. Please don’t penalize players who don’t use the shout box.

i do participate in the events and advertise in the sb about them, but if people who play, but are not as active in the sb, do not get requests i think that is not fair to them.
Returning to the old system, but when getting a random amorous/apathetic/item still keeping tracks of the milestone prizes would be amazing. just like Stargazer said. ^^

Once again, I have ended this event with over 30 unanswered Valentine requests. I even made sure this year that I only requested people I was sure wanted them because they asked in the SB. I stopped sending the person requests a day before the event ended and yet nothing. This is exactly why people don't send requests to random people on the list, because they'll lose out on time they could have spent actually getting the request items. This is yet another reason this method of Valentines is terrible, because all of those are missed items I could have had and had 0 control over the result of. If nothing else every single one of those requests should result in a random accept/decline item (doesn't have to go towards milestones, only the items themselves) when the event closes. Preferably, we move away from this system entirely though so our success/failure isn't tied to the goodwill and willingness to click buttons of others.

While the method of going to profiles once a day would be more fair for those who can't spend all day online, that's not my biggest concern with the event.
On other sites I'm on, any event where you collect items to trade in for other items, you're given an extra couple days to do the final item trade ins. Gwen's shop closing at the same time as the valentine requests was a little sucky. I would have liked a moment to sort my last minute Valentine's items to see which I needed to keep and which I could toss at Gwen for another trade in. Now I've got these spare Squishies that I don't need floating. Yeah I could sell them for other people to grab ones they are missing, and I likely will, but I'd have much rather had a one day gap between Valentine cut offs and Gwen closing.

A mini-event so a mini-feedback.

I think the start of this April Fool's event would have gone better if, instead of having to rmail Pat, the bottom of the page explaining the perks had a little "haha, got you!" button that you click to get your "gold account" so people didn't have to A) wait for Pat to be online and B) panic and get angry beyond the original post. I wasn't one of them but I know several people both in the comments and on the SB were mentioning legitimately leaving because they didn't get that it was a joke, especially newer users.

Overall it was a cute little event, I always like Pan and the squishies.

My absolute biggest complaint was the names in the SB. Multiple people voiced that they were difficult to read and they weren't automatically set to turn off so at the time of this writing everyone is still gold (this is over 13 hours after the event ended with no indication of how much longer it'll go). The biggest issue with this is that you cannot tell who staff is. I have bolded and underlined this for emphasis. No one can tell who is modding vs mini-modding, no one knows who to ask. Sure, we can check the staff page every time we see a name we don't know, but that's honestly just unreasonable to expect and for a newer user there's no way they'd know if someone is a staff member or a regular user.

Additionally, while this was a fun little event, I truly hope we never get "paid" accounts that make any one user "better" than another. Of course, some of the things seem fun but just thinking about what changing the hatch luck or unlimited hatches would do to the economy? That's insane. We also don't need an "elite" tier of users basically that can gain so much more than those that don't have the real-world funds to do so. The CS is already sort of like this but at least it has balance and limitations and I think that that kind of balancing is much better than the "pay to win" model many online games lean towards nowadays and that a paid account would essentially be.

Spring event feedback:

Overall:
I love that things are staying open longer than the leaderboards. There was a little hiccup with the egg quest but other than that this is super great. Also love that updates continue to give reminders of when things are closing. That's super helpful for people I think. I also am very glad that we're telling users what the prizes are for leaderboards and what the cutoffs for each are so users can make informed decisions on whether they want to go for it or not. I hope this continues throughout all events from now on. I love that things are findable in explore too. It gives everyone a chance at participating. There was a lot going on in this event though. Lots of things overlapping and happening all at once and it's a little overwhelming to see "you have these 8 things all happening at once and you have to balance your time between them." At the same time, I understand that having nothing going on would be worse and doing them all consecutively rather than concurrently would take about 4 months so I don't really have a solution to it. Having the end and start times staggered helped a little because I could focus on the one ending soonest and pretend the rest basically didn't exist until that was over so definitely keep staggering like that for events with many features. I think the "overkill" moment came when the mini-event of Mother's Day and Cinco de Mayo was mixed into the center of the spring festivities. Maybe if the Easter event had started earlier they wouldn't have overlapped and it would have been less hectic.

Coloring contest:
Plenty of time I think, clean way to submit, overall not bad.
Problem: I really think these images are way too big. If we work on a canvas this large so much detail will be lost when it's downsized to site size. Maybe make it a smaller image like 600x600 or something? 1000x1000 at most.
Second problem: we saw an update on the 1st of May saying "winners will be announced soon" and have heard nothing for almost two weeks.

Egg Hunt:
Broken record here. I at no point had enough large chunks of time to do a 48 hour hunt. This is likely true for most people. Shorter hunt that can be paused would be a great improvement.

Shiny Collecting:
I already had most of the items so it wasn't as painful this year, but it continues to be excruciating trying to either paint eggs or buy egg painting kits in bulk. Wish we could have had more time with the new patterns I assume we'd be learning from the winners of the coloring contest, although maybe that wasn't planned for this year anyway, in which case it's fine.

Egg of Eternity:
This is a nice little daily feature but it's very quickly starting to suffer from the same thing as the basin on Halloween. There are too many items and RNG is horrible. I'm glad I managed to get the book, but I didn't get the new food or clothing item at all as of the time of writing this. I've gone to the egg daily and there was nothing more I could do. At least on Halloween I could keep dumping items until I got it but I literally have no chance at getting these items if RNG doesn't play nice. The more items that can be obtained, the worse this becomes. So people end up missing out on items and having no way to affect that. They can't spend more time on the site to fix it, they can't put more effort in. It's a one and done every day, which is great for things that aren't RNG but when RNG is the thing deciding whether you get things to fill out a collection or wear or finish intellect/nourishment levels it's just frustrating and not fun.

Egg Quest:
Not much to say about this one. It was fun like in most years, although it also suffers from the same RNG issues as everything with "more possible items to find." At least this one we can keep turning things in for but it's still frustrating to turn in several hundred eggs and not get the squishy you want.

Planter:
Not much to say here, same as last year, pretty neutral on it personally but nothing inherently bad about it either.

Bug Collecting:
Again, nothing much to say except it would be nice to see the points each bug gives before turning it in, much like with shiny collecting. I was sure I wasn't going to have any chance at all at the leaderboard when I saw someone with several thousand points but then I turned one bug in just to get the participation prize and realized that I can actually have a chance if I try and spend some time collecting. Additionally, I can't seem to find where I can see how many points I have if I'm not on the leaderboard, which makes it hard to tell how many more to turn in.

This is specifically about seasonal egg hunts.

ALL egg hunts. Particularly those egg hunts that lack items.

They are boring, take up too much time, and you can go hundreds of clicks without finding an egg. What are we, zombies to stare at a screen for hours at a time here?

This needs to be changed.

You now have an explore feature that can be used to send pets to their home planet to find eggs for you. Please use this rather than the clicky way. People will train more pets rather than just collect them, and it would remove the need to constantly be hunting for eggs.

Its not fun, especially for adults with things that must be done.

As a side note: Egg of Eternity... it hates me and refused to give me the book. The one item on Res I wanted most from this event. Thanks for that...

I'm honestly not sure if anyone reads these but I'm going to keep doing them.

Updates:
Thank you for continuing to remind us when leaderboards/events end. This is very very helpful. On the flip side, the limited stock seems to be lasting a very long time for this particular event, just feels a little overly drawn out.

Luau:
It's cool that the items were limited instead of just the one shop, but some of them weren't listed as "limited" properly. I know the bananas for sure haven't had the banner above them the entire time, not sure about anything else. The slider just doesn't work and that's the only way you know.

Not sure if the items were still able to be asked for in quests because I paused all quests related to other items (we'll get to that in a minute) so I can't speak on this, but I hope they were also excluded from quest requests

Speaking of that, quests are what we are encouraged to use to make TU in this game. It has been explicitly stated by multiple people including Patrick that quests are the intended way to do it. If this is the case, not only should anything related to events be impossible to be asked for in quests for the duration of the event (again, not sure if this is the case), all limited time items (like the skirts/leis) should not be able to be asked for either. I shouldn't have to choose between getting a lei and doing my daily quests. I never did get a pride flag requested by the quest before I put a pause on them, and I have done enough (along with another user who also hasn't had a flag requested last I checked) that there must be a way to do so.

I absolutely love the trend of keeping the prize shop open after the leaderboard closes and letting us get more points, although I do wish maybe the items stopped being limited at this point.

Leaderboard:
It was nice that places 1-3 got some bonus stuff. It definitely didn't push me to go for those spots because it wasn't worth the cost of the board but as a little "we see you" it was great and I know that's probably all it was meant for.

The bad: The leaderboard prize graphic has RC (Relking Coins, two words, capitalized) shortened to rkc (lowercase, 3 letters for some reason). As an official graphic, I think it should have been double-checked for the little things before it went out. At the very least capitalization since TU should also be capitalized (see the side bar on the site). Other than that, the graphic is very cute and this is a minor complaint.

My biggest complaint about the leaderboard is the participation prize. The only people who care about special food are ones that care about 100% of the food for at least one pet. Why do we have to choose which of the food we get? I get only getting one set of them, but having to pick a couple and probably not getting the rest because there are so few available is a little extreme. Even putting them in the prize shop (as suggested by someone in the SB) would have worked. Just some other way to get the rest of them. Give us two for free and then let us work to get the rest. Bolded for emphasis: Please stop making us choose prizes from a set and giving us no way to access the rest.

Sandcastle Game:
Not much to say, I love when the games are on a site timer rather than a personal one. That's all really.

Search for Kai:
A cute way to get the items out again this year. Less exciting for me since I had all of it already.

Scavenger Hunts:
I always enjoy these, some of the clues were rather obtuse though. Also, back to "choose between one set of items or the other" although at least this time they aren't food so it was a much easier choice.

Small misc:
For a while Kai was still in the graphics while she was "missing" so that didn't make sense. By the time the graphics were changed I had already found her so it, once again, didn't make sense.

@Wolfspi

Just to clarify, I believe the participation prizes will be available every Luau from here on out, so if you don't get all you want this time, there's the next to look forward to.

There are 7 items. Assuming we get 2 per year, it will take 4 years to get them all no matter how hard we work. My prior feedback holds in terms of my opinion.

I can see your point, Wolfspi, but I think I would be disappointed if they were just handed to us all in one year...then what would be the point in participating in future years? Also, who knows, maybe there will be more ways to earn then :)

Response to previous: I would hope the incentive to come back would be new things or activities personally, not "the same thing stretched over 4 years just to finish a set" personally.

Updated feedback for chocolate event:

It seems like for the chocolate event only people on Atquati can't use their shrine for the duration of the event? There should absolutely be a way for the Atquati shrine to continue being used as normal rather than shafting anyone who lives on one specific planet. Especially since this event goes on for several weeks? That's a very long time to be locked out of the shrine for your planet while everyone else can continue to use theirs. I mentioned this on the SB but I wanted to get it somewhere permanent so it wouldn't be forgotten or lost.

On the good end of feedback, I'm glad there are multiple ways to get chocolate items and that there are plenty of items to dip.
