Plot

The universe is vast, dark and cold, but also full of life. Things that appear dull and dead from your planet might actually be colorful and full of life. It is said that the universe, itself, is a living thing. It might be a curious statement, seeing as Earth's dictionary defines the universe as being the totality of known or supposed ob[injection]jects and phenomena throughout space; the cosmos; macrocosm. However, on another, more intelligent planet, the definition is more exact; The Universe is a being in form of capsule. The Universe holds life forms together and is the superior force that moves them. The Universe is the guardian of creatures and ensures that extinction never touches them. Although the definition is more exact, it still isn't correct. The Almighty Universe is both the board, pla[injection]yer and opponent of a game. The game, you may ask, is the game of life and death. The Universe plays this game for each planet, which ultimately decides the fate of the planet. It is a back and forth cycle and it could take centuries to finish. If life wins, the planet will flourish in good fortune and the creatures of the planet will live for generations! However, if death wins, the centuries it took to play the game will come to an end quickly. Death will wash over the planet without no warning. The creatures on the planet will die, but since The Universe has many obligations, the creatures won't go extinct.

Greetings,
You are probably wondering where you are right now and why you are here. In reading this letter you will come to terms with the events that has and will happened.
First things first, you probably have already figured out that you are in a glass tank. As you observe and take in your surroundings you will come to realize that there are more glass tanks around you. And not just glass tanks, but there are other life forms in the tanks. Now, don't freak out. Take a deep breath and keep reading, for I shall explain to you what you are seeing.
As you know, The Universe is vast, and holds a key to the unknown. There are lots of things that are not in your knowledge's grasp, however, you being here will allow your knowledge to thrive.
Here, all around you, are creatures from dying planets from the far reaches of The Universe. Only intelligent creatures who's planets are dying are sent here. I am trying to preserve creatures and keep them away from extinction. And, if you have connected the dots already, you will have understood the reason you are here. Your planet is on the verge of dying and I am keeping your race away from extinction. However, if you are not able to survive on this planet, then there is no hope for your race. It will be noted as a "Mistake Race" and never be created in The Universe again.
Now, with that said, you are probably wondering where you are exactly. Well, you are on a planet that holds no exact name. You are on a planet that floats in the abyss of The Universe, safe from harm and safe from other planets. You are given a second chance at life and what you do with your new life is up to you. However, to get things straight, you are not allowed to attempt to leave this planet and you will never go back to your own planet.
I know, that the world outside this dim lit cave filled with glass tanks gives you no clue on what the outside world looks like, so I will explain it to you briefly. At night, the sky is a deep and rich purple, and in the morning the sky is a powder blue that almost looks translucent. The sun is bight and white, though small in the sky. The moon, at night, is a deep crimson color, and looks as if it takes up half the sky. There is also a tinier moon that appears to be the same size as the sun. The moon is also a bright white, but it radiates cold not heat, and it moves back and forth against the night sky. The trees have small, round, pink blossoms that bloom throughout the day. They turn into emerald leaves around noon and turn crisp as the sun falls. From emerald green, the colors fall mimicking the colors of the sky. It transitions to a powder blue, a deep topaz, a fiery amber, a ruby red, a shimmering silver, then a deep rich purple. Then, when the sun rises, the leaves repeat their cycle. There is much, much more that could be explained, but you will see for yourself soon enough.
With all this information swimming around in your head, it is now time. Time to escape from this glass tank, only the worthy and lucky creatures will. For once you escape, it is up to you to help others escape as well or leave them behind as you explore your new home. But beware, some of these creatures are dangerous, and some hold great powers.
Wishing you all the luck,
The Universe

Rules

1. No pp,gm,gary/mary sue's, etc.

2. Follow Res rules

3. This is a semi literate to literate RP meaning; correct grammar, spelling, punctuation marks and write at least two paragraph (4+ sentences per).

4. Since this is a semi literate+ RP, I may ask you for a sample of your work if I am not familiar with you, so please, don't be offended. Also, I might turn you away if I don't think you can keep up with the literacy.

5. Use a form of Ooc when you talk out of character.

6. If you have a question about this RP, please feel free to r-mail me.

7. Romance and violence is allowed.

8. No more than two of the same creatures.

9. My goal is for this roleplay to move at a, somewhat, rapid pace. I would very much appreciate it if everyone posts once a day. But since I know everyone has lives outside of this thread, once every other day will be required as a minimum. However, if you are going to be on vacation or wont have access to the internet, let me know ahead of time and we will work something out. If not, then there is a chance you will be left behind or kicked out.

10. The creatures don't know any language but their native language until they read the letter and instantly they understand the language of The Universe. They can all communicate in the same language, however, they can still speak in their native tongue.

11. I realize that every one has the potential to be in a writing stump, so if/when you are, the lengths of your posts will be forgiven.

More will be added if needed.

~My Bio~

Name: Charlotte Camorelle

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Creature: Dark/Night Elf

Power: She has the power of manipulating shadows.

PersonalityAlthough she may be on her way to adulthood, Charlotte has always acted like a child. She is stubborn like a child, wanting things her way, persistent until she gets things her way. However, she is also optimistic and enjoys life. She lives every day without a care in the world, and is blind to the bad side of life. She is very naive and doesn't really understand the dangers in the world and when something goes wrong, Charlotte gets very uncomfortable and tenses up, clueless on a solution. Along with being uncomfortable in bad situations, she also gets uncomfortable in crowded areas. Like the saying goes, 3 is a crowd (well at least it is for Charlotte). But, the things that make her uncomfortable can all be overlooked when the situation deals with something she passionate about. And in Charlotte's case, that is adventure. She yearns for adventure and is determined to get it one way or another.

Appearancex

History: The planet of Dökkálfar (Dark Elves) is a mysterious and dangerous place. Dark Elves are evil creatures who enjoy inflicting pain on others and a ton of other devious, yet sacred rituals that brings bad luck if spoken aloud to others. Petie didn't like living as a dark elf, she hated the rituals, the bloodshed, the crowd. The whole notion of her race was sickening and uncomfortable to her. So, she decided that she would change her ways. One morning, when the dark elves hid away in their caves, she performed a cleansing ritual to rid away the dark soul she was enti[injection]tled to at birth. This process was painful and long, for it was a ritual created by the Dark elves. Once the ritual was done, Petie had gone through an immense change. Instead of the dark, charcoal skin that Dark elves were always born with, hers grew light. The dearness of her skin had now seeped into her eyes that were once red. And the red that were in her eyes seeped out onto her hair. She had converted and was banned from the Dökkálfar  clan, and had to fend for herself.

((May I join? I can post my example if need be? If I can join, I made a bio:))

Name: Amur Isca

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Creature: Tvar (Means Shapeshift in Czech)

Power: She can shapeshift into a Siberian Tiger/Amur Tiger, hence her name. Besides that, she can create ice and use control it or freeze water, but she cannot control water in it's liquid form.

Personality: Like most of her people, she is a born leader and tends to like to do things her way. She's very intelligent, but not willing to take risks. She's cold and calculating, wanting to think out every scenario before she makes a decision. Her mind works quick, but she still might be thinking for an hour or two about ever small decision. She is a very loyal creature, even putting her life into danger for friend. Unfortunately, she holds grudges for long periods of time and if you cross her, you might find yourself unprotected in a battle. As a shapeshifter, her personality can change very quickly. In her "human" form, she is like leader and everything I've already said. In her tiger form, she is hot-headed. She still acts like a leader, but she tends to rush into things if she hasn't thought it out before transforming. Also, if she gets angry, she transforms uncontrollably, but luckily, she doesn't get angry easily. However, she does get frustrated with people unusually quickly, especially if she is forced to repeat herself.

Appearance: She stands about 6'1" tall and weighs just a bit over 137 lbs. Her skintone is pale, almost white. Her lips practically blend into her face from how light they are. It almost looks like she doesn't have any at all. Her eyes are like that of a cat's, slitted and bright blue. This contrasts her short bob of white hair with black tips. She usually wears a white suit that is tight fit. The reason is that if an outfit is tight enough, her body will absorb it when she changes and keep it on when she is in upright form. Before her species invented these outfits, every time they changed, they would be naked. When she stands, she is usually a bit taller than her height because she balances on the balls of her feet. It's a technique to help her move silently even on rough ground. All over her body there are black stripes faded onto her skin which get darker when she transforms. On her back is written "Amur Tiger" in Tvist, the language of the Tvar.

History: She was born on Tvar'as, the planet that the Tvar occupy. When she was born, she was identified as a Amur/Siberian tiger by the writing on her back. That's why she was named Amur. Everybody is named after their species because no two Tvar have the same transformation or power, unless they are twins, but getting twins on Tvar is as hard as winning the lottery on planet Earth. If twins are born, as is the case with Amur, the second born is given the other name of the animal, or the scientific name. Unfortunately, her family didn't have that problem because her sister was stillborn. As she grew up, problems were arising on the planet. Because every cat morph was leader of every continent, they all started fighting for supremacy. When they all killed each other, not many of Amur's people were left. The Tvar who were left foraged for food and war broke out because people were angry at the Tvar who tried to unite everybody. Just before she was about to be killed, Amur blacked out and woke up in a strange glass tank.

Other: Nothing interesting, although, I can put a roleplay example here if you need one.

Name: Xander Krill
Age: 6 Umicksep years, or 18 Earth years
Gender: Genderless, but he considers himself male.
Creature: The Kali, a distant cousin of the Mer, live in the great oceans of Umicksep. Their skin is sea green, and they have patches of scales. They have gills on their neck an a nose that works above water. They have two legs and their feet are elongated with a thin webbing between the toes. Their fingers are long with straight white talons at the tips and webbing between them. They have long hair that come in a verity of colors including sandy, green, black, and brown that they keep long and in a tight braid. When they let their hair flows freely, it is used like a net to catch fish.
There are a few differences between male and female Kali. The males tend to be larger and weigh more. Their hair tends to be lighter and their scales can be blue, green, purple, or red. They are alright at walking on land. The females are thinner and more lithe. They are quicker at swimming than the males, but they are poor at walking. Their hair have darker shades, and their scales are tan, white, or black.
The Kali are built for swimming, but they can survive on water. When moving on land, they have issues running and have a tendency to trip or stumble. They can maintain a brisk walk, but they usually to move slowly.
The Kali are omnivores, and though they can eat raw fish and other seafood, they have trouble digesting other uncooked meat. They prefer to eat small, silver fish that swim in schools with more than a million members called Twmix, and fat blue fish with three black stripes that live in warm, shallow water. At times, they will eat kelp or, though it is rare, they sometimes will go onto land and harvest plants.
They are born genderless and don't develop sex organs until they are about 10. The genderless young are consider themselves a 'Lumve', and they have their own pronoun. As they get older, it becomes more clear what gender they will become when their creamy translucent scales start to change colors.
Underwater, the Kali communicate by making a mixture of clicking noises and hand signs when in the line of sight. The clicking language comes naturally to them, and it only takes about a year for the young to become fluent in it, and a year and a half for the hand signs. Above water, the Kali can talk like a human, though it takes years to learn, and only those who bother going on land learn it.
The Kali live in large groups of fifty or more, and they have massive territory that stretch over both sea and land. They hunt in small groups of eight or less. They are mostly nocturnal and sleep at the bottom of a body of water when sleeping.
Power: Nothing unusual
Personality: Quiet; not very talkative. When on Umicksep, he preferred to stay underwater and catch fish all night alone. Xander can make friends quickly, but he tends to lose interest in them easily and will stop talking to them. He is a bit lazy when it comes to things he doesn't want to do. Xander doesn't know how to speak the above-water language, and he almost never goes on land.
Appearance: Xander looks like an average Kali. He has dark green eyes and pale green hair that falls below his waist. His scales are light blue like the sky. He is slimmer than most and quick in water, but the adults think that he thicken and slow down as he ages.
History: The Kali have lived on Umicksep, a planet that is 90% covered in water for thousands of generations. It is believed by some that they may have first been land creatures that moved into the oceans in search of prey, but many think that things were as they are now.
Born from an egg like every other Kali, Xander grew up not knowing exactly who his parents were. He lived with other Kali his age until he was about five, when he moved to the warm water coast with a few other adults.
Other: Nope

bio

name- Lilany Rishka

age- 15

gender- girl

creature- basically a human, but she can control water.

power- water

history- She was young when she found herself lost, in an amazing forest. She fell into a strange lake. Before she knew what was happening she was transported to the confusing world she is in now. She has never seen her parents since and mostly wanders. She has completely forgotten most of her history and her friends.

appearance- She has blue hair and a white skin color. She is slim and is a normal sized for her age.

personality- She is shy and feels lonely. She is rather sad and confused she doesn't really talk. If you were to be her friend it would take a while to get to know her well. She doesn't really tell people her history very often.

sample- (can I just put it here?) Lilany was walking around. Would she ever truly know what had happened that strange day? She paced back and forth. Why did her parents not come looking for her? Would she ever find her way home? She was a loner ever since she had been magically transported here, she was always saying something under here breath and could never bribe herself to be brave. As a small child her mother had always cared for her. After losing that moral support all she did was sulk. She would never find her way home. No one would ever remember her. She was merely the past. Her mind taunted and troubled her.

Name: Thane Fang. He prefers Fang.
Age:
193
Gender:
Male
Creature:
Faolchu, otherwise known as Chesirewere's.
Power:
He can shift into a Cheshirewulf and he can disappear, as in invisibility.
Personality:
As
 with most
Cheshireweres, Thane is quiet aloof at first, but it fades after a
while, allowing you to see his inner child. He has a quiet sense of
humor and slightly sarcastic
nature, but none of the wickedness that one would expect from a race of
bloodthirsty silent killers. Thane has a soft spot for both creatures
and animals, but
when it comes to his friends, he is a little too loyal and reckless. He
acts a bit like a child most of the time, refusing to do things if he
doesn't ant to by folding his arms and saying "No." Quiet a bit of pent
up old anger and resentment was inside him, and he tends to lash out at
people as they start getting closer to him. If someone looks past the
stubborn, willful child with a voice that cause harm better than a sword
at times, and they were to become a true friend of his, they would have

earned themselves a big, stubborn, overprotective..... Four year old
with the power to turn invisible, who is quiet good company.

Appearance:
Wavy black hair which is
just long enough to be swept across his right eye as a fringe, is
trimmed much shorter at the back and sides of the head. His hair
resembles the slight changes in color and variation that one might
expect from a black tiger, a normality with his species. Slit eyed pupils are
another distinguishing feature, framed by iris's which change from a
murky hazel to a rich leafy green, flecked with shining gold and silver. Thane stands at just above 6'5,
barefoot, and has a slim, athletic build which is enhanced by a pair of
form fitting, rumpled black jeans and a v-necked, long sleeved, black
tee shirt, which he wears with the sleeves at his elbows. To hide his
identity, a hooded woolen semi-trench coat covers his face and keeps him
warm. A long scar, from a time he he got tangled up in barbed wire and tried to roll out,
traces his form. It starts at his left upper arm, wrapping around it
three times, with about a centimetre between each slash, before
continuing diagonally down his chest and wrapping around his stomach
four times. It then comes back up and wraps around his right elbow in
the same fashion. It looks brutal and deep, and is stark white against
his slightly tanned skin. Two tattoo's don his body, one on the inside
of his right wrist, a name, written in cursive letters, and the other a
black rose wrapping around an ornate gold dagger, placed above his scar
on his stomach/chest area.
In his shifted form, he looks more like an ash grey panther, with a wolf like head and solid forest green eyes. Black tiger stripes dapple his shoulders and razor sharp teeth which open up into a traditional Cheshire, 'maniac', toothy grin.
History:
Cheshireweres are native to Blackfort 3, a small planet which is 81% water and 18% land. The water is a beautiful aquamarine, almost verging on cobalt in the deeper parts, and almost completely see-threw. The land, in contrast, varies from deep emerald green forests, to towering Tundras, to cold and warm deserts. It seems to be a lot like earth, except for one thing. Blackfort 3 only houses predators and plant-life. Sharks, killer whales, manta and sting rays all roam the waters, though in many more species than on earth. On land, Cheshireweres reign supreme, being the ultimate hunter. Other mystical creatures try to hunt them, but the Chesireweres have longstanding alliances with the more fierce inhabitants and usually come off better in a fight. The planet has two suns, one providing a cool, refreshing light, and the other an uncomfortably warm one. It also has three moons, each looking completely different from one another. The planet had begun to erupt into territorial wars, and Thane had been recruited for service. He served until the last year, where upon Blackfort 3 was hit by a black storm, a ravaging space storm which destroyed the lunar system Fortress. The last thing Thane remembers is reaching out to his brother before being yanked into the storm.
Other:
Nope

[dang sorry about the wait smth came up over the weekend but im free now; heres my bio. hope its ok]

Name: Isha

Age: A few centuries old, though specific age isn't very important to him or to his species. He is still a young adult, though, comparably around twenty-three years as a human.

Gender: Addressed as male.

Creature: Sphinx, specifically a tiger/magpie mix. Sphinxes are usually only big cats, though their wings can be of almost any type of bird; in general, the proportions of the wings will still be correct in comparison to their bodies.

Power: None, unless flight by way of wings counts as a power?

Personality: Isha would like to be more removed or subdued than he is, perhaps trying to keep an image of 'distant arrogance,' but still reacts very easily to others, in spite of his efforts to maintain an apathetic and dismissive air. He is very impulsive and impatient, as well as unwilling to display any sort of insecurities or to allow others sense any lapses in self-worth that he may have. He is determined to complete or prove things to others to the point of stubbornness. However, he is willing to yield to those who he believes are in a higher place of power than he is, respectful to those that he admires. This mentality is caused by his upbringing as what was essentially a prince.

Appearance: heretle="here" target="">ja
va:nicTemp();
He also has wings with markings similar to a magpie's, though I only sort of included them in the second sketch.

History: Isha comes from , a world where the sphinxes were in the highest position of power, where even the lowest within their own standings were considered a type of nobility or royalty by the more mundane species inhabiting the planet. In Isha's area, a place of beautiful architecture, made as gifts for the sphinxes, and lush jungles, his family was considered the highest ranking. He had many siblings and was not particularly important to the family's lineage, though this never quite bothered him. He mostly lived his days out as he wished, occasionally butting heads with his family members, but mostly able to avoid confrontation due to the sheer expanse of both his family and where they lived.

The cave was quiet and dark. The only source of light was small cracks in the rock ceiling and the illuminating light coming from the furthest reaches of the cave, where it opened up to a colorful world. The light tried its hardest to penetrate the darkness and help his fellow creatures, but his rays of light that reached desperately for his companions only lit up the first five rows, containing about twenty glass tanks in each row, and leaving the next five or so rows without warmth. That was okay, though, cause the nocturnal creatures that had better eye sight in the dark were in the furthest rows, and the creatures that needed the most light were in the rows closest to the colorful world. Charlotte was in one of tanks that were in the darker regions.

Eyes, that were as dark as the unexplored reaches of the cave, blinked open, not yet aware of what has happened. A small, petite, body went from a laying position to a ninety degree angle as she stretched her tiny frame. A long and silent yawn was in order and a shake of the head to wake herself up. However, still half asleep and unaware of the lack of soil beneath her feet, Charlotte started to get ready for the day. She stood up and her sleepy eyes looked around. It was dark, as it was in her hollow tree home back on Dokkalfar so she didn't notice the difference. She rubbed her eyes sleepily and started to walk towards the distant light. However, she didn't make it far, the next thing she knew, she was back on the ground, her head aching with an unusual pain. That is when she started to notice her surroundings.

Charlotte rubbed her head and stood up again. This time she noticed the lack of soil that was beneath her bare feet. With a puzzled look, she crouched down and touched the floor with her free hand. It was a cold and smooth surface, nothing like she had ever encountered. It was possible that ice would feel similar, but it wasn't quite the same. She stood up and blinked, her eyes adjusting to the darkness. She could see a large ob
ject in front of her. She turned to the side and she saw the same large ob
ject there, too. It was strange and fear started to settle in her heart. Charlotte looked back towards the light, nothing seemed to be blocking her path, so why had she fallen down? She walked towards the light again, slowly this time, and found that she was stopped. There was a force that was holding her back and she couldn't tell what it was. Frustration and anger started to settle in, making her fear seem like a minority. She balled up her fist and pounded on the force. A loud thud echoed in the cave and Charlotte noticed that the feel of the force was the same as the ground beneath her.

Curiosity welcomed himself into her heart, knocking anger out but keeping a tight hold on frustration and fear. Charlotte exhaled her annoyance and turned away from the light and from the strange force, examining her surroundings. Very vaguely, her dark eyes picked up the faint outlines of bodies. An uncomfortable feeling rose up and caught her by the throat. Now that she took in her surroundings, she noticed that multiple bodies surrounded her, but very spaciously, and the large cave seemed so small. Closing her eyes, she took multiple, deep breaths trying to rid her mind of the feeling that made her want to cringe. However, when she opened her eyes, the feeling was no more, for her eyes, mind and heart latched onto something else, something more mysterious. A note.

Charlotte had walked over to the note and picked it up. She held the paper with delicate hands, as if it were of high importance, and she was scared to read it. The first thing that she noticed was that the letter was written in strange letters, scribbles even, but somehow as she attempted to read it, her mind translated everything and she was able to understand it clearly. She was so certain she knew what it was saying that she was almost tempted to take on the tongue of the letter. "A new world, a second chance, huh?" She said, giving into temptation and trying out the language. The words rolled out of her mouth with a thick, Dokkalfar accent. Her O's and A's were stressed heavier and her L's were held in her mouth longer. It felt strange in her mouth but Charlotte had already came to love the language, hoping to rid her mind of her native language. In this situation, one might freak out and feel sorrow for their dead planet and extinct race, but Charlotte didn't mind. She resented her planet, her people, that is why she converted and lived in isolation. The only thing that she felt was excitement to start her new life on this new planet. So long Dark Elves and hello fresh start.
