Sky went up a small - and by small I mean really small - plateau, and addressed her cats. "Everyone, come and gather. It is time to choose The Six." Her tail curled around her paws as she sat. Fox didn't pay much attention but finally ended up doing so. Bird gathered. Falcon padded up to his usual spot, right in front of the plateau.

Soot's blue-green eyes widened slightly. The six. Six would die. This year, hopefully none of the six would be cats he knew. Hopefully, Soot himself would be okay, but since the leader always chose cats, then explained a reason for sending them, he might be in throuble. He remembered last year, when the names of the Six were called, but he remembered the first name that had been called more than anything else. The cat's name had been Korva. She was probably dead now. Soot hadn't known her, but he still remembered the name. He padded over to the plateu, and looked up at the leader in fear.
(Omg, Ice, we should write this rp into a book. :D Because I can tell it will be really good.)
Venna's ears twitched, hearing Sky's words. They seemed to echo in her head a little before she walked over to the plateau, and waited for Sky to continue.
Nova sighed and padded over to the plateau, sitting down next to her friend, Soot. "This had better be important." Nova grumbled. "Somebody'd better be dying."
"She's choosing the six, Nova." Soot said, barely looking at her.
"...Oh."

Kieser looked over the West Half. "I've gathered you all here today, because, the time is coming for Sky to send in another six cats. Now, I've decided to turn this into a bit of a game." Keiser said with a smile as the cats looked up at him like 'Are you freaking serious...?' He then continued. "You are all going to be looking for the six of them. If you find any of them, kill them, or better yet, bring them to me alive. Those of you who do will be greatly rewarded-" he paused."-meaning no more hunger. Cats will hunt for you. Higher ranking. And those of you who choose not to participate...will be hunting for whoever kills the six."
"Understood?"

Sky looked over her little clan of cats, every one gathered. "It is that time.. The time to choose The Six," she repeated, her voice echoing loud and strong like a leader's often does. "These Six are sent to drive out the West Half. I shall call each of you up one by one. Remember, being one of The Six is not a punishment. It is a great honor to serve the East Half." Truth was, they would die. She had to send six cats to die. But they'd die fighting for their lives and fighting for what they believed was their Half. It was indeed an honor. Sky called out the first name, the first cat to step up to the plateau.

Nova's eyes widened. She was filled with fear, and hate toward the leader, but she still padded over to the plateau, and stood in front of the leader. None of the six would ever come back. She knew that. And she had heard rumors that once you're chosen as one of the six, your name was changed to a number. She glanced at Soot out of the corner of her eye, to see her friend's reaction. He looked afraid for her. Sad, too, but that was normal for Soot.
Soot watched in horror.

"Nova. You shall be number one. From now on, your name is One." Sky nuzzled Nova and felt her hatred to her. "Do not be afraid. I trust in you," she whispered. "Being number one is especially a great honor." She then called out the second cat.

Shocker, Soot thought with sarcasm. Of course. However, at least he was going to get to go with his friend, Nov- no, ONE. He sighed. He guessed that meant his name was Two now. He stood in front of the leader, waiting to be sentenced to his death.

"Soot. You shall be number two. From now on, your name is Two." Sky nuzzled Soot as well. It was sort of a ritual. "Do not feel hatred towards others. It is a strong word and I know you will do well," she whispered. Next came Three.
"Falcon." --- Falcon stared, shocked. Yet he was not too much afraid. He padded up and stood in front of his leader. Sky spoke, "Falcon, you shall be number three. From now own, your name is Three." Falcon growled almost inaudibly but Sky whispered reassuring words to him. Fpfff. Yeah right. He went to go stand next to Two, aka Soot. --- "Fox," Sky voiced loud and clear. Gasps rang out. Fox was, well, popular, you could say, in the East Half. How could he live?! "C'mon, Vix. Be strong."
"Smalls, don't lose hope! You can do it, man."
"Smudge... You go kill it out there." The East Half spoke similar things to him, but one stayed in his head. The smallest kitten he had met the second she was born padded up to him. "Foxie," she mewed. "Don't leave. You're my bestest friend." The kitten went up to him and buried her face into his fur. Fox stared for a while but embraced the kitten. "I have to.. But I promise I'll be back. If I'm not, you don't have to be my friend anymore," he said. "No... you're always gonna be my friend. I know you'll stick to your promise." As he went up to the plateau, she said, "Good-bye, bestest friend." "Fox. You shall be number four. From now on, your name is Four," Sky said and nuzzled Fox. He dazedly went to go sit next to Three. --- Sky continued. Two more to go. "Venna."

Venna was only about a year old. She was easily frightened, and pretty much defenseless, and she glanced back at her mother before walking up to the plateau and standing in front of the leader. She was almost an adult, but still small, and had the personality of a kitten and stayed around her mother.
"DON'T!" there was a hiss from the crowd of cats, and Venna whipped her head around to see her overprotective mother trying to fight her way through the crowd, but the other cats held her back. Venna then turned back to Sky.

Sky sighed and continued. "Venna, you shall be number five. From now on, your name is Five." She nuzzled her. "I trust you shall do well. Feel no fear." She smiled.
"Bird." --- Bird was a bit younger than Venna, only by a few days or so, and her mother grabbed her by the scruff. "You're not going up there," she hissed.
"But mom, I'll be fine. I'm going to save the East Half!" Bird said, strongly believing that was the reason. But her mother knew otherwise, though in the end Bird ended up being in front of Sky.
"Bird. You shall be number six. From now on, your name is Six." --- Sky looked over the East Half as The Six sat, all lined up. "The Six have been chosen!" she said. "They shall now embark on their journey. Lya, give them their herbs." Lya, the healer, presented each of The Six with herbs for their plight. "Eat them all," she instructed as Falcon, Bird, and Fox began to eat them with distaste.
"After they eat the herbs, they shall leave, only to return when their job is finished."

Two sighed and began to eat the herbs. He cringed and almost spat them out as he ate them- they tasted sour and disgusting. Nothing like meat. He swallowed them.
Five watched Two eat the herbs, and looked up at Lya. "Do I have to eat these?" She asked.
Nova ate them, a slight look of disgust coming across her face as she did, but nothing else.

Five ate the herbs, then looked at Sky as she waited to be sent out. Once they were in west half, they would be in terrible danger. But what if she could actually win? She would be the savior of the entire East Half!

Sky meowed, "I shall now lead them to the Crossroads." The leader leapt down from the plateau in one swift motion and flicked her tail, signaling for them to follow. She led them out of the small forest and to a city, called the Crossroads. The majority of this city was the West Half's territory, along with the other forest on the other side of the city. It was snuggled in-between these two forests. The West Half had lots of more territory, but Sky had decided that they didn't really need the city back then when they had made boundaries.
Three, Four, and Six looked up at Sky and followed her as she led them out. "From here, you are on your own. I bid you good luck and farewell." Sky said with a hint of sadness.

One and Two exchanged glances, then looked at the city. The city where they would all die. One glared at Sky. I know what you're up to, she thought. "You haven't seen the last of me." One hissed before turning to Two and beginning to walk away with her friend.
Five looked back at Three, Four, and Six, then followed One and Two.

--- Six went over to Five. "What do you think will happen? I think it's gonna be an awesome journey!" Five was the closest in age to her. Four swished his fluffy tail as he set out to go talk to One. "Why so hissy?" he said smoothly. Three silently walked, pawstep by pawstep. "Where are we going anyways? We need a plan."
