Wait a minute! You can get more tu for that!

I think the reason people underprice pets is because they don't know better. They work off what they priced their pets at before and had them sold for, and look at the pets which aren't selling and say to themselves. "I think that's just too much asking price, so I'll have to lower it to this."

I have an idea to fix that.

What if we stock a blonde Paor our Rancher Shop and go and price it at 500,000 tu, because the cheapest blonde on the search is 500,000 tu. We click "Save". The page reloads and says. "Wait a minute!" in red letters and stars the Paor. You scroll down to the bottom of the page and it says. "The lowest buy price of a creatu with that species and color is much greater than the price you have set, are you sure you want to continue?"

It gives them a chance to think. "I can get more tu for this?" and they may be more inclined to use the Pet Search rather than just saying.

and pricing the pet at whatever they feel like just because it caused their creatu to be sold before.

Why would YOU want this? Because then it gives YOU, a RANCHER, a chance to get your tu's worth for the creatu you just spent YOUR hatch on; let's face it, guys, hatches aren't exactly abundant.

So, do you agree? Disagree? Why or why not?

If you don't agree with the set up of this, please offer another suggestion. (ie, instead of having to load the page twice, have a "pop-up" window, like when you click on an item in your inventory.)

why not just have a set price from the site? it will stop the price's of pets going low and if people dont like it there is always trades or the pet auction?

Set prices will never be implemented. Patrick has been firm on this and will not budge. lol. At least with this, it gives people a chance to make the smart choice of pricing pets decently or the choice to be foolish and price steeply below the lowest buy price.

The problem with this is idea that it is the site establishing an offical price range for pets.

The only way I can think of to avoid that would br to have this reference creatu prices on the search list. But then, players should have to do that themselves.

Player need to take the extra time to make the 'smart choice' for themselves. It should not be a game feature.

I am pretty much against auto-price checkers in any form ;p

Err. I think I may have confused you, xee. The way you described it makes it seem like the website is providing the appropriate price instantly. What I was thinking was having a warning page and then they can go search it up on the Pet Search themselves. At least then they are aware that they aren't pricing it correctly.

Or did you know that and I'm the one who is confused? xD

I guess I am confused.

How would this feature know an appropriate value for pets?

There has to be a certain minimum number in order for a player to get the alert, correct? If the number did not come from what was currently on the market then it would be the developers who a.ssigned a minimum value, which means they'd have to defined an official price.

There is no 'correct' price for anything in the game other than what is defined by players.

I think this idea would be amazing, but I'm not supporting it for the reason Xee explained. The system would have to have a set or at least a round about price for each species/color mix which isn't right in my opinion.

GaiaOnline has this system set up (in fact, I borrowed the idea from it). It works with the coding. The system would have to focus its "pulling information" on the species and color. I'm not sure if it can be coded as such, since I'm no coder. The minimum would change as the market would change. I imagine it would have to update every so often, maybe there's a coding that can be done to trigger the update? Or have it update every minute or so. *shrugs*

I don't support "fixed" maximum and minimum prices, it's not my intention to force people to work with that. The system is meant to offer "hints" that they can get more for their creatu based off the current marketplace.

... I was sitting here trying to get it. xD Go Izze!

Uhm. I guess I support, since I'm already posting anyway. P| This would probably help a lot with prices, if it is possible to code in.

I bet I certainly could have benefited from it back when I was a newb. Sold a ginger Paor with a decent name for thirty thousand, when I'm pretty sure they were worth more than that. FFFFFF.

I support. Because I feel bad when I find nice pets really cheap, and then buy them and stick them in my storage... those poor Ranchers should be making me pay loads more. Maybe then creatu would be appreciated more, too.
